The Squad car approached Titan Tower carrying Cheif of the police Carla Perez, the department head of the Missing Children's Division Bell Conroy, and the lead detective for the Homicide division Ryan Sayre. They should have had someone from the Metahuman investigations division, but they were dealing with a threat in the subways beneath the city. Chief Perez was the one to buzz the door alerting the group ten stories above in the command center.
"Are you sure about this Dick?" Barbara asked, she was sitting on one of the desks her inhaler beside her. She wore a sports bra the rest of her torso wrapped in white bandages, Doctor Leslie Thompkins had had to open her up to remove several bone fragments that had found themselves lodged in places they shouldn't have been after multiple of her ribs fractured when she was knocked off the roof, the broken rib was the worst of her injuries, she had a bruise around her right eye and several other bruises and cuts peppering the rest of her body but other than that her armor had done its job.
"I'm sure, we want to show that we trust them and want to work with them" Dick's finger hovered over the button to open the doors before pressing it down, the three members of law enforcement entered,
"Is this the best time? Alice could be anywhere in the city" Barbara was used to the way Batman did things he got things done he didn't stop to consult the police unless absolutely necessary.
"We need their help, they know this city" Barbara nodded.
When Dick reached the lobby Perez and Sayre had their weapons drawn, Bell had taken her place behind them since she didn't carry a weapon, as Dick stepped from the elevator both guns aimed at his chest.
"I'm not, armed detective" He announced, Perez immediately diverted the barrel of her gun toward the floor, while Sayre kept his gun trained on the R on Dicks chest, "The Titans need your help" Bell stepped forward,
"On the call, you said a girl had been taken" Bell had actually been the one to speak with him when he'd called,
"Yes, a member of the Titans was taken early this morning when our teams responded to multiple attacks from known criminals, we have reason to believe the person responsible for the abduction was a man named Jarvis Tetch" Robin explained. It took 45 minutes to explain the full situation,
"I can have the whole city on high alert before lunch," Bell said, once Robin had finished,
"That's not a good idea, if he thinks we're onto him, he might freak out and kill her" He warned,
"I agree, we know he's not afraid to kill her putting pressure on him now won't be a good idea" Sayre chimed in "We can't sit back while a child is tortured," Bell said frustrated,
"I agree but we have to handle this delicately, we need to let him think he's winning especially in these first couple hours or else he may expedite his disposal out of fear that we're onto him" Sayre had been a homicide detective for 36 years and was the most experienced member of the three officers, as he explained why it was best not to alert Tetch they were onto him, he began to question if they might alreay be to late.
