A Perfect Couple

Dear readers,

Thank you for stopping by and reading this story. I would like to hereby thank everybody for your comments, reviews, follows and kudos. As always, you guys rock! ^▽^

Regarding the plot, things are only going to get more and more complicated from now on. As was already shown, Ryou, as well as the others, are starting to sense that there is something really fishy going on. What that enigmatic something is, however, remains a mystery for the time being. Also, Ryou and Ichigo's relationship is still rather terrible at this point. That is highly intentional, though, since if there was anyone powerful enough to stop Ichigo in her pursuits, it would definitely be Ryou. And, with nobody to lean on, Ichigo is hence left in a somewhat undesirable situation completely alone. So what will happen next? Is Ichigo going to have a change of heart? Or is she going to keep getting more and more involved with Kisshu? One thing's for sure! Toxic relationships are a bitch. They will eat you out from the inside and before you know it, you will end up being addicted, finding it hard to break free but also keep going. Will Ichigo find her way out, or is it too late already? Only time will tell. We still have some twenty more chapters to go, y'all!

The music I used for this part is Shakira's 'BZRP.'

I do not own Tokyo Mew Mew

Ichigo had almost forgotten how great orgasm could feel.

She was not a virgin. No.

But she felt like one.

After being with Kisshu, she most definitely felt like one, because whatever she had been doing with her boyfriend prior to this point could hardly be classified as sex in any of her books. Not anymore.

It was somewhat ridiculous to note that Ichigo had to screw an extraterrestrial to reach this obvious conclusion. But, as they say, better late than never.

It was so easy to follow his lead.

So natural; every of her responses more of a reflex rather than a premeditated thought. Where she felt insecure and uncomfortable with Masaya, Kisshu had quickly managed to obliterate her inner doubts and fears, leaving nothing but pure pleasure behind. And, oh boy, was it pleasure! Were all the Cyniclons that good or was it just him? Maybe she should stick with fucking only the aliens from now on. Because it was amazing. Loud, passionate, forceful – best sex she had ever had. He felt even better than she had imagined. Making her scream her lungs out while his hands gripped and grasped, asserting that she was still there and alive. She saw these kinds of things only on videos, but feeling all these sensations first hand was an entire different story.

More heat rushed to Ichigo's face when she replayed the heady images of their last encounter in her mind, the pencil in her hand spinning faster and faster.

'Have I really had sex in the middle of a dark street? AGAIN?!' she asked herself in alarm, as a small tint of redness began coloring her cheeks.

What had she been thinking? Had she completely lost all of her senses? What if someone came and saw them? It was one thing doing stuff with him in her bedroom when her parents weren't home and something entirely different to engage in such activities in public! She would have to scold Kisshu for that next time she saw him.

'Next time, huh? So you do want there to be a next time,' her conscience snickered evilly.

Ichigo merely groaned until another thought, far more gruesome, crossed her mind.

Did she really want to continue with these secret rendezvous? How long would it take until someone found out? And what would she do by then? Could she trust him, really, that he would keep it just between them? She had no intention of sharing anything pertaining to their late night meetings with her friends. Would he feel the same way? The sex was completely stratospheric, sure. But was it truly safe to be around him? What if he merely wanted to gain her trust only to backstab her later? Could she really enjoy his body while not endangering anyone, herself included? But, maybe, she could. All she had to do was not to entirely lower her guard around him and keep him safely at an arm's distance from her. That way, they could have fun and still follow their respective agendas.

The pencil in between Ichigo's fingers stopped twirling, as she let out another sharp exhale.

She had been thinking of Kisshu far too much lately. There were other things that deserved her undivided attention as well. Like the book of algebra that was precariously lying wide-open on the desk in front of her, for example.

Her eyes darted to the alarm clock and she cursed.

Masaya was supposed to be here for their upcoming study session in twenty minutes; a notion of which Ichigo could scarcely be less than little enthusiastic about.

Was it too late to take a rain check now? He would understand, wouldn't he? Masaya was always rather compassionate when it came to the other human beings. Plus, she could always tell him that she still did not feel well. A lie she had told literally everybody else. And, surprisingly to Ichigo, it worked. It worked splendidly, actually, making the Mew Mew once again ruminate on how easily she could lie whenever she really needed to. But if she cancelled at such short notice, Masaya could get suspicious and, paradoxically, even more worried about her health, which was something that Ichigo could, quite frankly, very well do without.

The truth was that she had taken a day off yesterday. She really needed one. Both from school, as well as her job. Because seeing the anxious reactions of Moe and Miwa and, especially, the annoying face of Ryou was literally the last thing Ichigo was ready to confront. Come to think of it, would she ever be able to face her boss again? After what he had said to her? And after what she had done? He might have insulted her, yes. But, at the end of the day, she was the one who had shared intel with Kisshu and even agreed to sleep with him.

'Talk about revenge fuck,' Ichigo sighed in dejection, resting her head on her hand.

The longer she had thought about it, the more grateful she was for her idea to play sickie. She needed the time for herself. To think, to understand and to extrapolate the gravity of what she had done. And to come to terms with the fact that things would never be the same after this. Yet, however much time Ichigo had spent contemplating her predicament, she was still nowhere close to knowing how exactly she should approach what had happened between her and Kisshu. Was she feeling guilty and confused? Absolutely! Ecstatic and jubilant? Sadly, too. All of her jumbled thoughts had made her truly feel sick to her stomach. But it was mostly the lack of any reasonable solution that had caused her to experience the frequent panic attacks that had begun clawing at her heart at irregular intervals.

And, the fact that she had literally compromised herself beyond any means of repair did not settle well with her psyche either.

Well, at least, there came no emergency calls from the Café Mew Mew so far.

Ryou would have notified her immediately if that was the case. He always did. Did that mean that the Cyniclons were really not plotting anything? But why would Kisshu, then, want to know about their pendants? It made no sense. But, maybe, he was just curious? Right, that seemed absurd even to Ichigo's own ears. Whatever the aliens were cooking, she would just have to watch Kisshu closely. And, who knows, perhaps, if she kept a low profile, she would be able to even extract some kind of information out of him in this manner. He found her attractive, after all. And with all the incredible sex and mutual attraction they had shared, words like loyalties, morals, duties could quickly become blurred and sullied amid the waves of scorching lust and passion. Ichigo had never thought of it like this before but it didn't really matter whether he was a Cyniclon and she a human; they were basically the same in this respect; risking just as much in terms of their reputation and social standing, should their secret affair turn public one day. And if that ever happened, or if he was, for some odd reason, ready to betray her and take her down, Ichigo would just have to make sure that she was taking him down with her.

'Maybe I should take breaks from school and being a Mew Mew more often,' she smiled with glee at the fresh perspective she had acquired, as her eyes fell back onto the yellowish paper in front of her.

Leaning further over her desk, she transferred her attention back onto the nerve-wrecking algebra when a sudden sound of a ripple in the air notified her of a new presence, making her suddenly rather uneasy all at once again.

Soon after, a pair of pale hands covered her eyes, depriving her momentarily of her vision, as his warm, soft lips began tracing the delicate skin of her ear lobe.

"Hi there, I-chi-go," he teased playfully when he felt her instantly tense under his touch, "Guess who."

"K-kisshu?"

"Correct," hummed the alien in approval as he grabbed a hold of her chair and swiftly swiveled her around so that she could face him.

At first glance, he seemed happy, ecstatic even. With that arrogant smirk twisting his features, he stood there in front of Ichigo, emanating all the sheer confidence and not giving a slightest damn about what else was going on with the world. Yet, when his hungry orbs raked over her form, Ichigo knew that whatever algebra problems she had planned to solve would have to wait a little longer.

Not exactly a bad guess, she might add.

He shot her a toothy grin, and before anyone could say or do anything else, his lips crashed down on hers, eradicating all of her other thoughts in a matter of few intense seconds. It was rather puzzling, if not entirely crazy, how fast she had melted into the kiss, throwing her arms around his neck almost instinctively and pressing him closer to her. But, again, he had a knack for kissing her with that kind of unrestraint passion and skill that said that he had wanted to devour her completely until there was absolutely nothing left of her.

When he finally broke the kiss, Ichigo looked him directly in the eyes, the air between them still hot and heavy. Beneath his heated gaze, she immediately fell into an uncomfortable, dangerously hypnotic silence. There was something about these deep, Cyniclon cat-like eyes; something that was threatening to overwrite her mental sanity, if she kept eye contact with him for too long.

"Missed me?" Kisshu chuckled, taking in her flustered expression.

"No!" she called out, shrinking away from his scrutinizing stare.

'Yes,' squealed her inner self.

"Are you sure about that?" he asked, enjoying her squirming.

"Yes."

No!

Kisshu's eyes flashed.

"Well, it's a good thing I came to say hello, then," he grinned some more as he bent down and his hands started to undo the front buttons of her pink cardigan.

"K-kisshu! N-no! We can't," Ichigo blurted out, too embarrassed at how erratic her breathing was already getting when he pushed up her shirt and buried his face in her chest.

"Of course we can," Kisshu returned smugly, completely ignoring the girl's protests.

"N-no! Not n-now!" she stammered, stumbling over her own words, as her heart beat started to quicken.

"Why not?" he bunched up her skirt and ran a hand over her, rubbing her slightly.

"B-because," her breath hitched in her throat when she felt him slip his hand under the waistline of her underwear and she could not fight the whimper that was threatening to escape her mouth.

"M-Masaya's c-coming in t-ten m-minutes," Ichigo half-moaned half-answered when his fingers began to frantically slide in and out of her, "T-to study t-together…Oh my God!"

She gasped when he pushed her panties aside and let his tongue join his fingers in the merciless assault. Her hand automatically weaved its way into his hair, tugging at his tresses forcefully; whether to push him away or further in, Ichigo could no longer tell.

"I don't see why you're so scared," he replied with fair amusement in his voice once his mouth eventually left her.

His hands were back on her hips in a flash, hooking his fingers through the thin fabric of her underwear and taking it off with one swift movement. Drinking in the sight of her exposed body, he spread her thighs further apart for him and gave out a dark chuckle, "Ten minutes is enough of a time. I'll make you come in less than five."

Too excited, Ichigo bit her lips in sheer anticipation. She was aware now that he was more than capable of keeping that promise. Kisshu might have been a stuck-up bastard most of the time, but when it came to sex, he had never failed to deliver. She knew that he was going to fuck her again. In the same desperate frenzy as he had done two days ago in that dark, narrow alley. And, truthfully, Ichigo couldn't wait for that to happen. She would never believe it how delectable it could feel to have someone else inside her. Someone who was not her boyfriend. But Kisshu had always been rather skilled at breaking her self-internalized illusions and introducing entirely new perspectives to the matter at hand.

He brought her closer to the edge of the chair and, pulling down his shorts, he pushed inside her, making all of the guilt, shame and whatever doubts and reservations Ichigo might have initially experienced instantly dissolve into thin air. Her morals then quickly followed, as their breaths became heavy and mingled while the former stillness of her room began gradually transforming with the many loud gasps, cries and wet-smacking sounds that were emitting from their lust-driven bodies.

It felt good, just so damn good.

Even better than the last time they had done that.

Suddenly, Kisshu grabbed against the headrest, shoving himself even further inside her, as the chair kept hitting against the front of the wooden desk back and forth in perfect synchrony with his quick, precise thrusts. And, as her cries grew louder, Ichigo could only thank her lucky stars that her parents weren't home. That was, essentially, why Masaya had been coming over every Tuesday and Thursday. To mainly study, sure, but since her house often provided not only time but also privacy, their sessions soon moved from solely academic background to sexual as well. She briefly recalled their first time doing it, only vaguely wondering why having Kisshu in between her thighs felt so vastly different.

"Y-you feel s-soo good," she panted, as her hands clutched at his shoulders harder.

"Come for me, then. Show me how good I feel," he said in between breaths.

And it did not take much longer before Ichigo let out a sharp cry and did just that.

He finished an instant later and with their cheeks flushed, hair tousled and bodies relaxed, they stared at each other for a long, quiet moment, speaking merely with their facial expressions.

In a way, it seemed as if time was suspended just for them.

Ichigo absentmindedly traced the small drop of sweat that idly rolled down the alien's face with her dazed eyes, noting, with utter surprise, that she had never noticed before how symmetric and well-structured his features really were. Strong, regular jaw, complimented by the high cheekbones and alabaster skin that-

"Ding-dong!"

Out of nowhere, the door-bell rang, causing Ichigo to instantly rouse from her thoughts. Upon remembering herself, she let out a shriek, knowing fully well that they had barely made it in time; that Masaya was most certainly waiting for her at the front door of her house, and that Kisshu was still inside of her, smirking down at her wickedly, as though he could read her mind perfectly.

With one fang poking out, a sinister chuckle rose from his chest, when his lips cracked into another of his wide, mischievous grins.

"Your boyfriend's here. Don't keep him waiting."

"Wow. I started to believe you'd never show up here ever again. Finally," Mint quipped, sending the auburn-haired girl in front of her a coy smile before turning back to Zakuro with deep interest.

"Indeed," the latter nodded solemnly, making the Iriomote Cat Mew slightly wince at the somber tone of her voice.

Ichigo had never quite understood what it was about Zakuro's cool persona that had always seemed so appealing, as well as somewhat intimidating to her. Maybe it had something to do with the whole dark-horse-thing, or was it the unearthly beauty that the supermodel inherently possessed that had always put Ichigo on edge? Either way, she could not deny that she felt very, very small underneath the eldest Mew's all-knowing, all-seeing, blue eyes.

Eyes that could be so cold and inquisitive that they had formed a polar opposite to Keiichiro's warm, chocolate gaze.

"It's so good to see you again, Ichigo," he said, with genuine happiness dotting his words, as he entered the area with a white towel cloth in his hands.

"Thanks," Ichigo replied, massaging the back of her neck sheepishly.

She had never quite anticipated what kind of an impact would her return to her work bring, nor what a drastic change her latest argument with Ryou might have spurred among the others. But the moment Ichigo had opened the big, red robust main door of the Café Mew Mew today, she had become quickly acquainted with the fact that things would not continue the way they had always been before. Her day off, along with her dispute with the blonde, had made sure of it.

And the best part about it all was that nobody had blamed her for lashing out at her boss, not in the slightest. Quite on the contrary, actually; as everyone had been showering her with only worry and understanding instead.

'Would they act the same way if they knew that I slept with a Cyniclon?' Ichigo sullenly thought before a sharp voice came from behind her, startling her momentarily.

"Yea, I didn't believe you'd come back either. Consider me surprised."

Her eyes then flickered briefly to Ryou who was leaning in the doorway, a biting edge to his tone.

Keiichiro cleared his throat.

"Now, Ryou. Wasn't there something you wanted to say to Ichigo?" the brunette prodded.

The blonde sighed, uncrossing his arms.

"Sorry about the last argument we had. I was out of line. I apologize," Ryou said matter-of-factly.

Ichigo stared at him, with her mouth hanging open, and at a total loss for words.

Had Ryou actually apologized to her? No! Impossible! Not Ryou Shirogane! At least not the Ryou Shirogane she had known for so long. But even by looking at him right now, Ichigo could tell that there was something different about him. He still held the air of authority and power around him, that was for sure. But his face lacked the palpable arrogance that Ichigo was so accustomed to seeing. No, it was not a trick. He did not try to trick her this time to ensure the loyalty and cooperation of his biological weapon. In order words, he was telling the truth.

Oh my God. Ryou Shirogane has really apologized to me. And he meant it!

"Here," he continued, extending his turn-up palm to her and thus revealing a very much alive and hyper Masha in it, "I am giving you Masha back. I updated his system so he should be good for some time now."

Ichigo watched the little robot anxiously before her eyes returned back onto Ryou. A twinge of guilt immediately coursed through her body shortly after when she realized that her boss really had no idea about any of her shameful behavior. And not only that. By actually apologizing to her, he had already proved to Ichigo that he was a far better human being than she could ever be. Where she hid behind her emotional tantrums and lies, Ryou proceeded with brutal honesty, favoring pure pragmatism as opposed to his bruised ego.

Wasn't it just the forbidden pleasure that was evoking such traitorous thoughts in her mind, though? The queasy feeling that no matter how much fun she had been experiencing with the alien, it was downright wrong?

'Have I really betrayed the whole team?' Ichigo felt her throat tighten at the uneasiness that was simmering in her thoughts.

But, maybe, it was only the shame talking now?

Perhaps, if Kisshu had not again screwed her brains out yesterday, she would not have to feel presently guilty at all. Ryou had made her feel miserable more than on one occasion, let's not forget that. Could one apology really erase all the mean stuff he had ever put her through? No. One good deed could hardly buy him off. It would take far, far more to gain her trust and friendship back, if there was ever a friendship to begin with.

It was a good start, nonetheless.

"Thanks. And…apology accepted," Ichigo answered at last, letting a timid smile pass over her features once she connected the little fur ball of a robot back to her cell phone.

"See? Much better," Keiichiro grinned, content with the way how things turned out.

It was Mint then that broke the awkward silence.

"Excellent," she announced gaily, protruding a violet envelope from her purse in the next instant, "Now that we are all friends again, there's something I'd like to share with everybody."

Her face lit up with impish glee as she took in her captivated audience and the radio silence that had followed her unexpected proclamation.

"I have a ballet show next week," the blue lorikeet Mew went on, "Which I would like you all to attend. There is going to be a buffet afterwards too. Me and Ryou thought it could be a good distraction for the team, since things are starting to get rocky at times around here," Mint winked at Ichigo cheekily, making the Iriomote Cat girl slightly blush.

"Oh, Mint. That is great!" Lettuce chimed in.

"Yay, what a cool idea, na no da," Pudding beamed, rather excited at the prospect of free food.

"Whatever," Ryou muttered under his breath, "Don't forget that Mew Aqua is still our top priority here. Though, I don't think that any of you will ever take it seriously from now on with all these parties ahead of us."

"Parties?" Zakuro caught up with his words quickly, raising a quizzical eye brow at the blonde.

"Yes," Keiichiro stepped in before Ryou could continue with another of his snarky comments, "Café Mew Mew was chosen to hold the annual Halloween Animal Banquet this year. It is a very renowned charity event with a long-lasting tradition that harks back to many years ago. Its primary aim is to raise money and awareness of all the endangered animals and support their natural habitats in the wildlife. It will take place at our premises in two weeks, and you, all, are also invited, of course."

"Wow, I chose the right time to come back, did I not?" Ichigo laughed, before her eyes met Ryou's hard glare and her smile somewhat faltered.

"Clearly," the blonde drawled unenthusiastically.

"Now, now," Keiichiro chided, "There is nothing wrong with having a little fun in our lives from time to time, is there?"

"And we're gonna wear some cool costumes too," Pudding squealed in elation.

"How do you know that, Pudding?" Lettuce ventured curiously.

"I saw the fliers, na no da," Pudding giggled, as she fished in her pocket and pulled out a colorful piece of glossy paper.

"Oh, these are awesome," Ichigo noted, her eyes wide with surprise.

"Look at all the colors and the animals!" Lettuce pointed out, equally awe-struck.

"It really does seem interesting," Zakuro remarked with genuine intrigue, regardless of how stoic her face continued to appear.

"And we don't have to work during this event, correct?" Mint inquired, her gaze flicking in between Ryou's scowl and Keiichiro's warm eyes.

"Well, we expect you to help with the preparations," the blonde responded, crossing his arms behind his head in obvious discomfort, "But other than that, you're off the clock at the actual event, yea."

Keiichiro flashed him with a bright smile and Ichigo had to bite her tongue not to laugh at Ryou's overtly disgusted face. She knew that her boss must have found it extremely infuriating to let his employees have some good time, not to mention life. Which is why she decided that she would make the most of it, while she still could. The truth was that she would never fathom that being a Mew Mew could ever bring her to so many social events, but she would be an utter fool to even try and complain about it. And, besides, social events were exactly what she needed now. A distraction. A good, good distraction that would take her mind off of things that she did want to presently think of. Like Kisshu and Masaya, for instance.

"You can bring your plus ones too. Ichigo, I'm sure Masaya would be interested in coming, what do you think?" Keiichiro smiled politely, throwing Ichigo into another unexpected panic mode as a consequence.

"Y-yea, maybe," the auburn-haired girl sweat-dropped, not really sure whether she was alright with this proposition or not.

On one hand, it was rather nice of the brunette, and extremely rare from Ryou, to actually give her this opportunity to finally spend some more time with her boyfriend while being among the other Mews. But after the latest study session with Masaya, Ichigo really felt like what she needed the most at this time was a break from that relationship altogether. At least, until she could figure out her feelings for him. It was not like he had said anything weird or uncomfortable, quite the opposite. Masaya was as nice and caring as ever, without the least bit of a suspicion about what had happened only a couple minutes before his imminent arrival. And the fact that he understood her condition fully, leaving as soon as possible and wishing her nothing but a fast recovery, had, somehow, made Ichigo feel even worse. The more she had really thought about it all, the more she had started to discover that they might truly not be meant for each other, despite how much her younger self decided to protest against this. It was not just the sex. No. There were also other things where they could never connect. Her being a secret superhero, while him an ardent environmentalist being one of many of them.

"Sure, I will ask him. Maybe he is available?" Ichigo tried.

"I'm positive that he will be. What other plans could he possibly have? You two are a perfect couple!" Keiichiro assured her kindly.

From her peripheral vision, Ichigo caught Ryou's eye on her but chose to dismiss it.

"Right, we'll see," she produced a big, fake smile on her face, not willing to spoil anyone's mood.

It did not matter what had happened yesterday, or what would happen today or tomorrow. All Ichigo knew was that she had something to look forward to now. And, that itself was more than enough to make her happy.
