DISCLAIMER I DO NOT OWN BROTHERS CONFLICT IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM
"So where are you taking us?" Ukyo asked Sean as he and his partner drove him, Hikaru, Hannah and Heather away.
"Not sure," Sean replied as he fidded with his tablet, "I'm waiting for instructions."
"Did you find out if any of our other brothers were outside the palace when the lockdown or Code 69 was issued?" Ukyo asked.
"I did get a note on that. At least 2 others were reported outside, Kaname and Natsume," Sean mentioned, "but we don't know they're location."
"Suppose we could call and find out where they are?" Hikaru asked.
"Sure go ahead. Tell them to stay put and we'll head to their location and secure you all at there until further notice," Sean allowed.
"Will do," Hikaru said as he calmly pulled out his phone.
Just then Heather's phone went off.
"It's my mom," she said as she answered, putting her phone on speaker, "hello?"
"Heather where are you now? Are you safe?" Prime minister Cook asked.
"Yes mother, the royal gaurds picke me and Hikaru up with one of his brothers, Ukyo and his friend Hannah, righ Hannah?" Heather asked.
"Uh, yes," Hannah said nervous. She looked over at Ukyo.
"She's seriously on the phone with her mother the prime minister!" she whispered.
"Calm down, calm down," Ukyo tried to calm her.
"We're heading off to where two of his other brothers are so at least they're all together until we know what else to do," Heather continued to explain to her mother.
"Do you know where that is?" Prime minister Cook asked.
"Not at the moment," Hikaru called out.
"Let me know when you've found them, I'll come there myself and take all 4 and you back to the palace!" Mrs. Cook insisted.
"Back to the palace?" the driver asked, "but it's on lockdown there!"
"Yes, but as Prime Minister, I have certain privalges and clearances," Mrs. Cook explained annoyed.
"You are always going to be in that driver's seat aren't you?" Sean said.
"Besdies I need to speak to the king about Robert and his current status as the heir apparent! He endangered my daughter! I cannot let that pass!" Mrs. Cook continued, mad, "especially if there's actual proof of it!"
"Mother," Heather said a little surprised herself by her mother's tone and attitude.
"I'm sorry, but going after my child personally, there is no forgiveness!" her mother insisted.
"Reminds me a little of mom, huh?" Hikaru said to Ukyo.
"Sure?" Ukyo said, "weren't you supposed to be calling Kaname or Natsume?"
"Oh right," Hikaru remembered as he started to dial.
Natsume stood in the Smiths kitchen stroking his chin in frustration, mad and upset about not knowing what has happening back at the palace with his brothers and Ema.
"What if Ema ends up dead?" he asked himself.
"Hey," Emily said as she walked in as well, and leaned against the kitchen island, "you okay?"
"Just irked about this whole thing and little to no idea what's going on back at the palace!" Natsume told her.
"I can make you something to eat, or drink," Emily offered as she walked over to one of the cupboards. Natsume followed her with his eyes.
"No, I'm fine," he said as he actually walked over to her and actually hugged her from behind, "but could I at least be allowed this?"
"Uh, sure?" Emily said a little surprised by his sudden action. However she did smile at the gesture.
"Damn Emily, didn't realize you were so close with this guy already!" her brother Andy suddenly said as he too came into the kitchen.
Both Natsume and Emily looked over at him in shock.
"Get out of here you little turd!" she shouted as she grabbed a random snack bag and threw it at him.
"Sorry, geez!" Andy said as he bent down to pick up the snacks, "I was coming in here for these anyway!" He sulked out of kitchen munching on the snacks.
"Arg! Brothers!" Emily muttered, "oh sorry."
"No it's okay," Natsume tried to insist.
"It's okay to be upset," Emily tried to comfort him.
"I know, I know," Natsume kept trying to insist to her, even though Emily could still feel her hand.
Just then his phone went off.
"That's Hikaru's ring tone!" Natsume said as he pulled it out. "He programmed it himself!"
Kaname kept looking between Elizabeth who was pacing through the living room talking on her phone and to her mother who was sitting on the couch also observing her daughter. The older woman sighed sounding disappointment.
"She even looks a little like her father!" Kaname heared the woman muttering.
"I take it your ex-husband was in similar work as Miss Elizabeth?" Kaname asked.
"Yep and he was obssed with it. He cared more about it than me and Lizzie. And if I ever dared tried getting to take a break for at least Lizzie's sake he'd get so mad at me for dare asking such a thing. Until finally he chose his job ovr us and left!" said Mrs. Smith, "I was actually glad he left. I didn't want him influencing Lizzie's life! But he still did anyway!"
"Why did you neglect her so much when she was growing up then?" Kaname asked.
"Oh!" Mrs. Smith moaned clearly sounding ashamed of herself, "that's not what I intended. After her dad left, I wanted to try to sway Lizzie away from all that. I quit my own job that was real similar to my ex's and thought it was best to give her space so she could try finding a different path away from all that. But in the end it' looks like it backfired! Because, like you said, I eneded up basically neglecting her and she still turned into her father!"
"Can you hold for a second?" Elizabeth suddenly asked as she put her phone on hold, "you mean to tell me, you basically pushed me away to keep me from turning into my dad?"
"I always thought that was for the best," said her mother, "I'm sorry!"
"Hello? You still there?" the other caller on Elizabeth's phone asked.
"I got to go, call me back if anything new comes up," Elizabeth told him as she hung up. She looked at her mom.
"So you never hated me or resented me because dad left us?" she asked.
"No! Of course not! It wasn't your fault your dad left! He was a jerk! If anything I should have left him way before!" Mrs. Smith insisted.
"Oh," Elizabeth said softly.
"It's not too late you know, for you two have a good mother-daughter relationship, if you want," Kaname pointed out.
"I don't know," said Elizabeth, "I like living and working back in Japan."
"Just because you live apart doesn't mean you can't still have a good bond," Kaname insisted.
"You know he's right sweetie, we could still attempt to make up even if there's a distance between us," said her mother.
"I suppose it's worth a try," Elizabeth started to say.
Natsume suddenly ran into the room followed by Emily.
"I just heard from Hikaru! He and Ukyo are on their way here. They were outside too when the everything started to happen. So they're coming here and then the prime minister's also coming and we're going back to the palace with her!" he quickly said.
"The prime minister?" said Mrs. Smith.
"One of our brothers was with her oldest daughter when he was attacked," Natsume explained.
"Whoa, the prime minister's coming here? She's hot, especially for an old lady," said Andy. That earned him an annoyed loom from his mother and both his sisters.
"What? She is hot. That's why I voted for her," Andy continued.
"I'm sure a few of my brothers would vote for the same logic," Natsume whispered to Emily, shifting his eyes towards Kaname.
"Hey, I vote base on more than looks," Kaname insisted.
"No, but it plays a big part in your decision making," Natsume muttered.
"This must be the place," Sean said as the car pulled up to a simple yet still elegant looking home. "You stay in the car until I make sure."
He hurried to the door and rang the bell.
"Yes?" Professor Smith asked as he opened the door, "here for the lecture young man?"
"Uh no, I'm with the palace security force, are the Asahina brothers Kaname and Natsume here?" Sean asked.
"Yes, they're here, sorry, Dad's a little senile," Emily quickly said as she pulled her dad away from the door.
"Thanks," Sean said as he hurried back to the car, "comr on out."
Ukyo and Hikaru hurried out of the car and ran inside where Kaname and Natsume were waiting in the living room.
"Thank goodness you two are alright!" Ukyo said happily, "did anything happen to you two?"
"We were confronted at the restaurant we wanted to have dinner at, but got away okay," said Natsume, "what about you two?"
"We were fine," Ukyo said looking back as Hanah came into the house with Heather, and Sean.
"We did get some men trying to pose as our escorts, but we ditched them," Hikaru said like it was nothing, "that's what tipped off the prime minister we may need her help in this matter."
"Is she seriously going to take us back to the palace?" Natsume asked.
"She said she can get us in and she needs to talk to King Stephon about Robert remaining heir apparent," Heather explained.
"I thought she didn't get much say in that," said Andy.
"She can if there's actual proof like an eye witness and it happens to involve a member of her own family. That can be seen as an attack on the government by the monarch," Elizabeth answered.
"Oh, that makes sense," said Andy.
"Alright, boys and girls, take a seat, let's begin," Professor Smith suddenly said as he rolled out a chalkboard. "Now who can tell me the name of the first queen that leagally succeeded her father for the crown?"
"What's going on?" Ukyo asked.
"My dad thinks he's teaching," Emily explained.
"Come on, someone has to know her name," Professor Smith continued.
Hannah raised her hand timidly, "Queen Chandra the 2nd?" she asked.
"Very good, Uh Miss?" Professor Smith asked.
""Hannah?" the woman replied.
"Miss Hannah, now can you tell me what number she was along the line starting from the first king?"
"Uh, 9th?" Hannah said.
"Very good!" Professor Smith praised as he turn back to his chalkboard.
"Man everybody knows this stuff," Andy muttered as he watched his dad work.
Suddenly the doorbell rang again.
"I'll get it," Sean said as he walked over to the door and opened it, and come face to face with the prime minister.
"Oh, Mrs. Cook!" he said.
"This is the correct location of the Smith residents correct?" Mrs. Cook asked as she walked in.
"Oh my goodness, it really is the prime minister!" Mrs. Smith gasped as she watched the prime minister walk further into her home.
The four sets of couples all turned and looked at her.
"Mother!" Heather said genuinely happy to see her.
Mrs. Cook immediately ran to her daughter and hugged her. "I'm so glad you're safe! I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you!"
"I'm fine mom, honest!" Heather tried to insist. Her mother pulled away, giving Hannah a gental smile before putting her serious face back on.
"Are you gentlemen ready?" she asked.
"Yes Ma'am," all 4 brothers said at once.
"Good, let's move out!" Prime minister Cook ordered with a snap of her fingers. "You men will ride in the palace vehicle, Heather, you ride with me!"
"What all are you planning to do when you arraive at palace Madam Prime minister?" Hikaru asked as everyone started to follow Mrs. Cook out.
"I have in my car, a very rough and early draft of a petition from parliament for the king strongly encouraging to reconsider his heir apparent and look for a different candidate, even if it's not his granddaughter or Lord Louis. Even if we don't have a real say in this, we can see to it that we have pressure on the king to reconsider, even for the rest of his life if need be. And when and if the king finally passes away, will do everything in out power to keep Robert from the throne as long as we can," Mrs. Cook explained.
"Oh, this is going to be interesting," Kaname said.
"Yes, once we return to the palace, it'll be quite a show," Hikaru agreed.
"Um, Hannah?" Ukyo asked as he looked back at her.
"We can help get her home," Erica offered, "we have to go back for Elizabeth's car anyway."
"Oh, thank you," Ukyo said bowing.
"Actually," Prime minister Cook said looking back at the three ladies, "you all witnesses a bit of what happened tonight, didn't you?"
"Yes Ma'am," all three replied.
"If you three wish, you may follow along. You won't be allowed onto the grounds probably just yet and you'll have at a distance from the palace until the lockdown is done. However, I would like you three to help back up the petition," Mrs. Cook said.
"Oh," the three ladies said looking at each other.
"Sure?" Elizabeth finally agreed.
"Good, let's head out then," The prime minister ordered.
"Girls!" Mrs. Smith called out, "please stay safe!"
"Wel will mom," both sisters said together.
"I understand how you feel madam," Mrs. Cook said kindly.
"So we're really going back to the palace huh?" Ukyo asked as he and his brothers all piled into their designated vehicle.
"Yes, to fight the odds and rescue a princess," said Hikaru.
"Do you think they're all alright?" Natsume asked.
"Have faith in the gods, I know they will be watched over," Kaname insisted.
Ema watched as Robert stormed around the room, smashing and hitting anything with in reach. Almost like a child throwing a temper tantrum. It's was both embarrassing and frightening to watch.
"Chi?" Juli suddenly said, "now we should go! Now! You know the wolves are safe!"
"Right," Ema agreed as she finally made her way to the door.
Suddenly Robert turned and noticed her escape attempt.
"Oh no!" he shouted as he all but leaped to the door and slammed his on it, blocking Ema's exit. He glared at Ema was so frightening that Ema found herself backing away slowly on her own accord.
"Who said you were permitted to leave?" Robert asked as he followed her.
"I just assumed whatever you were planning wasn't going to happen so I had no more business staying here," Ema tried to explain as she shifted herself around, looking around the room concern.
"Oh really? And you just leave with everything you saw and heard?!" Robert asked.
"What else could I do? I have no more business with you if you don't have any of my brothers or know where they are," Ema tried to argue.
"Well I do have you," Robert pointed out.
"And?" Ema asked, trying to hide her nervousness.
"And I wonder how easy it would be to eliminate you instead," Robert replied amused.
Ema shook her head no as Juli hissed at him. "Robert, no, please, this is going too far!"
"I don't think I've gone far enough!" Robert insisted.
"It's over, if you take me out, there's no going back! No one will trust you again! Let alone let you be king!" Ema maintained.
"Oh I don't know, I've found ways to take people out unsuspecting. Mummy knew a few tricks," Robert bragged.
"Your mother taught you how to kill people?" Ema asked weakly.
"If it was neccisarry, Mummy had to make sure she had ways to make secure hers and my rightful path to the throne," Robert praised looking fondly remembering his mother.
Ema shook her head in disgust. "I may have never known your mother, but from what I heard and seeing how your her son, I don't think she ever deserved the throne!"
"How dare you!" Robert bellowed as he slapped Ema across the face with the back of his hand. "You know nothing of my mother. She should have been queen! Not passed over for it by Uncle! Especially given how grandfather was all 'oh I'm all for equal rights for women and minorities.' HA! If grandfather was for such things he shouldn't have chosen a son over my mother!"
"But he didn't pick grandfather just because he was male! Grandfather was just born first! I'm sure if your mother or another daughter had been born first, he would have made her his rightful successor!" Ema argued back.
"Well why was he chosen just because he was born first?! Why should that matter?! Mummy didn't stand a chance just because she was the youngest in the family!"
"Life's not always fair Robert! Your other uncles and aunt didn't do anything cruel and despicable to try and hurt people to be king or queen!" Ema said.
"That's because they were all weak and stupid. Even if they had tried, they wouldn't have stand a chance against Mummy!"Robert said. "Mummy was special! Mummy was unique! Mummy was one of a kind! Grandmother always said so! She doted on Mummy so much because she knew how special she was!"
"Great-Grandmother only gave your mother extra attention because she felt sorry for her being born the youngest!" Ema snapped back.
"What a lie!" Robert shouted, hitting her face again. "Who told you such thing?!"
"Grandfather! He told me how his mother tried to make her feel special out of pity for bing the youngest!" Ema explained.
"Lies! Lies! That's nothing but a bunch of lies! You bitch!" Robert shouted as he slapped Ema again! This earned him a sudden hard bite from Juli.
"Ah! Get this fucker off me!" Robert cried in pain as he tried to shake Juli off him.
He gave Juli a hard toss and sent him flying across the room, landing on the couch.
"Juli!" Ema screamed as she tried to run to her companion. Robert however grabbed her and pulled her back, pinning her against the wall.
"For saying such horrible, rotten lies about my mother, you will pay!" he declared as he suddenly grabbed her throat.
Ema gasped as she tried to get Robert's hand off her throat. "You, do this," she struggled to say, "and, everyone, will know you did it!"
"Want to bet?" Robert taunted, "want to know one of the ways Mummy taught me to eliminate a person? She showed me a way to pinch a person's throat in just the right way to make it look like they merely choked?"
"Maybe back in her day! But I, I'm willing to bet they'd figured out you did me in!" Ema tried to say.
"So sure? They never pinned her for the deaths of Stuart and Jacinta!" Robert said.
"Who?" Ema tried to ask.
"I guess they would have been your aunt and uncle if they hadn't been suffed out at such a young age," Robert said like it was nothing.
"Oh my god!" Ema gasped both from Robert's hold and shock.
"Hell even I don't know how she managed to take out your grandma!" Robert continued.
"You mean," Ema gasped again, "your mother...,"
"If anything it was more a mercy killing. She was putting the woman out of her misery having lost two babies one after another," Robert continued.
"You! You and your mother are monsters!" Ema said as she suddenly found the strength to move one of her legs and unintentionally kicking Robert in the groin!
Robert moaned in agony and managed to let go of Ema's throat. He back away still moaning in pain before looking back at her.
"That was low! In more ways than one!" he muttered.
"Not as low as what your mother did and even taught you!" Ema snapped before she once again tried to move around Robet to get to Juli.
Juli got up and shoom his head. He looked over and saw Robet moaning in slight pain before he let off another hiss.
He dashed off and couch and leaped onto Robert, this time biting his ear.
"Ah! What again?!" Robert cried in agony as he tried reaching for Juli to pull him off.
"Chi! Go!" Juli tried to order even with his mouth still full of ear.
"But Juli!" Ema protested, "not wanting to leave her friend in such danger.
"I'll be fine!" Juli insisted! "I can...,"
"Ah!" Robert shouted as he managed to pull Juli off and throw him away agin. Juli once again sailed through the air and landed on the couch, practically in the smae spot.
He scuffle to the door, and tried blocking it with his body.
"You, are not leaving this room, until I say. And that includes if you leave this room alive!"
"Here I come Ema!" he and Ema suddenly heard a cry as both doors burts open and Yusuke came running in.
Yusuke's eyes immediately fell to where Ema was standing.
"Are you okay?!" he quickly asked.
"Yusuke! Behind you!" was all Ema could reply as Robert managed to come up behind him and grab him by the throat!
"Well, isn't this an interesting turn of events! I finally do get myself a brother! And not just any brother, the one that's been with you this whole time. The one that was set to die with you!" Robert bragged with delight. He looked at Ema who was once again feeling fear all through out her body.
"You know, I've heard a few rumors about you and him. You and him engaging in a little old fashion incest. Trying to relive some of the old days?"
"You're sick!" Yusuke muttered, "we're not even related by blood!"
"Still, it would make an interesting scandal if it keeps going," Robert taunted, "maybe I should help you avoid all that Emma and end it before it can begin."
"No!" she shouted. "Please don't!"
"I can't do that Emma, I can't let you off so easily! Not after what you've done to me and what you've heard just now! One of you has to die! Either I kill you and silence you all together or he dies as an example of what I can and will do to anyone you care about if you so much as mentioned how I flung your squirrel onto the couch!" Robert threatened, "now who's it going to be Emma?! Who's it going to be?! You going to lay down your life for the man you love or let him take the nobal fall for you!"
Ema looked back at Yusuke still in Robert's grasp. She felt a tear in her eye.
"Alright," she finally said.
"What?" Robert and Yusuke both said.
'No! She's going to give herself up, isn't she?!' Yusuke thought in a panic.
"Don't do it!" he cried.
"Silence!" Robert snapped, "let the lady speak! Go ahead Emma, what have decided?"
"My name is not Emma! It's Ema!" Ema shouted so loudly that she startled both Robert and Yusuke. Next thing both knew, Ema was making a similar sound to what Chrissy had made at the reception and running at Robert.
Robert was naturally caught off guard and let Yusuke go as Ema charged at him.
"Now! Now! Emma!" he started to say right as Ema used her shoulder to push into him and knock him over. He moaned in pain as he hit the floor.
"That hurt!" he complained.
"You'll live! I'm sure! Thoug it sounds like you really don't deserve to!" Ema snapped back at him.
Yusuke came up next to her and pointed his gun at him.
"Don't move!" he ordered. Then he looked at Ema, "you okay?"
"I don't know what came over me, but I knew I had to do something!" Ema said fighting tears.
"Oh don't tell me you're crying now!" Robert muttered.
"Be quiet!" both Yusuke and Ema shouted.
Robert sighed before he spoke again. "You think you've won? I've still have a few tricks up my sleeves and all you have is each other!"
"Ema?!" Masaomi suddenly shouted. Ema looked over and saw him, Tsubaki, Azusa, Louis, Subaru, Iori, and Futo all stumbling out of the wall from behind a painting. There was also Erica, Bea, Jane and Ami with them.
"What the hell? Did they just come out of the wall?!" Robert asked mad.
Just as sudden, the doors burst open, one hitting Robert.
In came Richard and King Stephon.
"Robert!" Stephon shouted mad.
"Right here Uncle," Robert said in pain as he slowly stood up and came around the door.
"Don't move!" Richard ordered pointing his gun at him.
Stephon looked back at Ema before he turned his gaze back to Robert.
"I don't know what you've been up to this time Robert, but at least this time, we can finally have evidence to use against you. Evidence you cannot dispute!"
Robert glared at his uncle and then shared his glare at all the other occupants in the room.
"We'll see," he replied.
