A Shorter chapter, but the next one will be longer.

a guy1013: Fair enough, in which case, no this story shall remain solidly rated T. no higher.
AnosDT95: I think they didn't try because they had no basis to start. all Trunks knew to tell them was where the first attack happened, not any indication of where they came from, to which Gohan also won't have much more to go off. While I can go and look up the city name Gohan cannot, and by then it'd be almost six years since she'd have watched the show, and city names from a show don't generally last that long in one's memory
She'd have more to go off of once she get's the city name from Trunks, but once that happens it'd be harder to get there unattended because of the focus on training in that time. Besides that, while sure, Goku and Vegeta are unlikely to stop a fight, they weren't the only one's there. Krillin, Piccolo, even Tein or Yamchya could have just as easily found the lab if it were possible. Even Bulma probably could have searched as she did when she recognized Gero
And while yes, the appeal of a reincarnation fic is the changes made along the way, it's also best to take into perspective that canon is safer than unknown changes, the devil you know ext ext. The one reincarnated is less likely to purposefully change things to far out of line unless they know it'd lead to a better outcome.
Also, Gohan would be physically 5 almost 6 at that time, with over protective Chichi looming overhead intent on forced study.
Shadowj6480: nah, you gotta keep in mind that Sayains are absurdly resistant. I mean Goku was literally bulletproof in the first episode of Dragon Ball where his Power Level was supposedly 10. Granted Goku already had a bit of training, but that was before his real training and four year old Gohan was absurdly stronger than young Goku with no training
Waking up being submerged in water isn't fun, in case you were wondering. I shot up, coughing and sputtering.
"GET UP." I flinched at the rough voice and turned to see my newest kidnapper.
Piccolo was about as angry and intimating as I expected.
"You brat. You are going to train with me to fight the Sayains that will be arriving on Earth in one year. Being Goku's spawn I assume you have at least some latent fighting ability."
"Your father is dead, but will likely be wished back by the Dragon Balls soon enough. You'll be happy to know, the man who kidnapped you is also dead." There were definitely a few pieces missing in that explanation.
"Gee. Don't sugar coat it so much. Really." Do I have a death wish? Not really, but like, might be better than canon.
"WATCH YOUR TONE WITH ME!"
"DO YOU THINK I ENJOY BEING KIDNAPPED TWICE IN THE SAME DAY?" I froze. Ok. Yelling at the dude that wants to kill my father. Not the best plan. Whatever I-
He smirked. Why was he smirking?
"Well. You certainly did not inherit that attitude from your father now did you?"
"Uh-"
"Perhaps there's hope for this planet after all.
"However, first you must learn to take care of yourself. You will remain here while I train. If you're still alive when I get back, we'll see what we can do with you." He turned to leave. I couldn't let him leave yet, what could I-
"Wait! When's the next full moon?" I already knew of course, but I couldn't think of another way to bring the topic up.
He paused. "An odd question. Why?"
"Uh, it was, uh, something that Radish guy said. He said that Sayains are most powerful on the full moon. I've always gone to sleep early so I haven't looked at it myself." My tail whipped behind me.
"He also said that Sayains are much more powerful with their tails when he saw that Dad didn't have his."
"…" he was just staring now, considering what I had said.
"In two nights. I will humor your request and in two nights we will see what happens. Until that, you are on your own."
And he was gone.
Well. Uh. Now what?
I sat helplessly by the shallow lake Piccolo left me by.
I guess I should be glad I somehow avoided being yeeted into a mountain.
I wasn't technically a four year old but I might as well be for all my wilderness experience. Bugs were more than enough to keep me from so much as falling asleep outside, let alone having ever gone camping, even if I'd ever know anyone else who knows how.
I glared at the water, wondering if it was safe to drink. Well, better risk it than be thirsty, I'm pretty sure the Sayain blood will fight off anything dangerous. Goku was drugged at least once to no effect in the anime, so there's got to be at least an increased immunity.
I suppose I can use the same logic for any plants I find, spending time with Goku also let me pick up on a few plants that should be useful for medicinal purposes.
Maybe, this won't be terrible.
Well it will, but not as terrible. Maybe.
The water rippled.
And again.
"Uh?"
Again. I turned my head and saw what was almost a T-Rex but slightly off from at least what Jurassic Park would lead you to believe.
Right. Dinosaurs are still a thing in this world. Have I mentioned I hate it here?
"Uh, haha, hi?" I stood, slowly backing away.
It had barely begun to roar and I was in full sprint away.
"Shootshootshootshootshootshoot-"
I tripped.
Stupid baby legs-
It was over me. It was swinging it's head down. Teeth. So many teeth. Is this was Mami felt like I-
It was gone.
Or rather, I was somewhere else.
"Oh." I looked over my new surroundings. I was on top of one of the massive rocks in the area. A few rocks standing taller than others. Cliffs on all sides, "I wish I knew how I did that."
I looked over the edge to see if I could get down.
"Haha, not a chance." It was all but sheer cliffs the way down. A few ledges, but none wide enough to catch my fall. There's a difference between knowing, logically (at least by Sayain standards) I'd be fine if I jumped, and that overriding over twenty years of "fall and you die."
"Guess I'm staying here for two nights." I'd get hungry, but I should survive. The real problem was water.
Hm. Piccolo did give Gohan a couple apples now didn't he? Guess I just need to complain a bit.
"HEY! IM STUCK HERE! AND IM HUNGRY! AND THIRSTY!" Despite what he said earlier, I knew Piccolo was still watching over me.
With no response, I turned around only to see a pair of apples sitting on a rock. Well. Ok then. You'd think I'd have heard something but whatever.
"Thanks!" I called. Sure he was a jerk who abandoned me in the middle of nowhere, but no reason not to show appreciation for whatever little he was willing to do for me.
I was hungry, but no reason to eat them both right away, when I was gonna be here all night and another day.
I'll have one now, and one tomorrow.
Yep. Sour apples. Any four year old would spit these out. Honestly good on Gohan for even eating them.
Welp. Nothing to do now but sleep. And maybe try to find my Ki again.
…
Ok so maybe being stuck on a singular rock for over 24 hours is really boring.
I sat in the shade of the largest rock jutting out from its surface. On the bright side I could kinda feel my Ki, maybe. I know I felt something.
I was hungry again, and eating my second apple didn't exactly help much against it.
On the bright side night fall was approaching and as the sun went down I kept my eyes locked on the ground. I don't know if a single glance at the moon as it rises is enough but I'm not gonna risk it just yet.
I waited until I could clearly see my shadow from the moonlight, then glanced across the sky where I could see Piccolo watching.
I turned to the moon.
Here we go.
