DISCLAIMER I DO NOT OWN BROTHERS CONFLICT IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM
Ema stared hard and cold towards Robert as he approached the thrones, looking as though he was just another regular guest, as though nothing had happen as of recently. As he came to a stop just in front of King Stephon and Ema, Richard and the other guards nearby all moved to block his path further.
Ema felt Yusuke's hand on her arm, almost getting ready to pull her from it and run in needed.
"You have some nerve showing your face here! You pathetic fool and murderer!" King Stephon shouted mad.
Ema didn't say anything, instead she just stared at her with her cold stare.
"Well I did help organize and set this up so Emma could meet her family," Robert tried to argue, "shouldn't I be entitled to see the fruits of my labor?"
"The only thing you should be entitled to is to the farthest place from here as humanly possible!" King Stephon declared.
"Uncle," Robert started to say.
"Your Majesty!" Stephon reminded him mad.
Robert groan and cleared his throat, "your Majesty, I know you've heard some nasty things about me and some I cannot deny, I hope I can at least try and prove me innocents in some of my allegations. Am I not at least permitted to that? Princess Emma, would you agree?"
"Leave," was all Ema would reply.
"I'm sorry?" Robert asked.
"Leave my sight! Now!" Ema ordered, "I have no time for you!"
"My apologies then, for wasting your time," Robert said as he started to back away. As he did, he noticed Rintaro standing with Miwa, looking like he too was prepared to grab Ema and run if it was needed.
"I see they let you in here, Rinatro, even though you yourself are a criminal," he taunted, "kidnapping a princess and all."
"I didn't kidnap her! I was saving her from you!" Rintaro snapped.
"And fine job you did, seeing as though she died in your watch," Robert mocked.
"There was nothing I could do! It was cancer!" Rintaro shouted mad, "though you might as well have been the cause. Till the day she died Yolanda worried you'd find her and kill her. Along with Ema after she was born! That was one of the reasons Kenji wanted to keep her hidden afterwards!"
"Such a sad story, I'm almost moved," Robert said sarcastically.
Ema cleared her throat, "I do believe you were ask to leave my sight! Be gone sir!"
"You heard the princess! Get out of here!" Richard snapped as he grabbed Robert's arm and pushed him away.
"Alright fine, I'll go. I hope you enjoy the party I set up for you, your highness," Robert said as he walked off.
"Make sure they keep a sharp eye on him!" Richard said to one of his men.
They all nodded and a few walked off.
"Can't we just make him leave?" Yusuke asked once he was gone.
"Yes, but, I'm curious if he's going to try something. Something we can fully cement him and his crimes!" Stephon admitted.
"Why did he even come back? After Ema did her "Get Out" speech like her ancestors did?" Yusuke also asked.
"Well, both my grandmother and her father still had to deal with the Nazis even after their speeches," Stephon explained, "the speeches just made sure the Nazis knew they weren't going to be easy to control."
Ema slid her hand up to Yusuke's on her arm, taking it and squeezing it. Yusuke smiled at her.
"Ema, why don't you and Yusuke go out and mingle with the other guests?" Stephon suggested, "you were wanting to, weren't you?"
"Yes, thank you Grandfather," Ema said as she stood, helped by Yusuke like a gentleman, "will you be fine?"
"Oh sure, this is where I usually spend parties at anyway, especially in my old age," Stephon assured her, "besides while I'm here, it's easier for me to control who I get to talk to."
"Alright Grandfather," Ema said as she walked off with Yusuke. Rintaro and Miwa also walked out into the crowd.
Stephon watched them all go, looking out among the huge sea of people gathered around him.
Before he felt lonely at such things, but now, being able to see Ema and all her brothers among the crowd made him feel grand.
"Something tells me this is going to be the best ball in a long time," he said to Richard.
"I think you're right," Richard agreed.
"Wow," Wataru said softly as he walked with Masaomi and Ukyo among the other guests, staring in awe at . "I never actually thought any of this was real!"
"Yeah, it's all so surreal," Hannah said as she and Erica approached them.
"Hey! Hi!" Wataru said happily, "you both look pretty!"
"Thanks kid," Erica said patting Wataru's head before moving closer to Masaomi.
"He's right, you look great," Masaomi insisted with a slight blush.
"Thank you," Erica replied. She cast a glance at Wataru who was talking with Hannah. "Is he going to be okay if you're staying here?"
"For the time being," Masaomi said, "mother was saying that of things get more stable she could see to allowing him to move back here."
"Oh, good, I hope that happens soon," Erica mentioned, "I have to admit, I was taking into consideration the idea that I'd be helping you look after him."
"Did you?" Masaomi asked.
"I do intend to be a mother someday, I want them," Erica explained.
Masaomi smiled brightly, "even if say you're husband wanted a big family? 7 maybe at the least?"
"7 huh? Enough for a baseball team practically," Erica said.
"It is my favorite sport," Masaomi admitted.
"Mine too," Erica said with a smirk, "we'll have to see though. It'll probably depend on how my career in politics is going and how good my husband's caeer, especially if he's a head doctor, is going."
"Fair enough," Masaomi agreed.
"But it'll be good to have a goal," Erica also mentioned as she looked back at Wataru who was still talking to Hannah and Ukyo.
"I don't know if I'd ever feel comfortable on a horse," Hannah was saying.
"I know I never did," Ukyo admitted, "I did the bare minimum when it came to the riding lessons mom made us all take."
"But it's nice you found a special pet friend while you were herr Wataru," Hannah said.
"Yeah, he's a hero!" Wataru exclaimed proudly.
"I was real close to my dog and cat when I was little," Hannah mentioned.
"You were probably like a princess with huh?" Wataru asked.
"I'm sorry?" Hannah asked.
"Well you remind me of those kind gentle princess characters in stories, that have animal friends that help them with things like chores and stuff," Wataru explained.
"Oh, thank you," Hannah said, "but it wasn't quite like that."
"I bet you could though," Wataru insisted.
"That's very sweet for you to say Wataru," Ukyo said, "why don't you ask Princess June if she's ever had animal friends that helped her like that?"
"You're not trying to get rid of me so you can be alone with her are you?" Wataru asked.
"Yes and no," Ukyo admitted.
"Okay, I'll leave you alone," Wataru said with a wink as he walked off.
"Where's Wataru going?" Masaomi asked when he saw his little brother walking off into the crowd.
"I suggested he go see Lady June, but he may go off somewhere else," said Ukyo.
"I better go with him, at least to keep an eye on him," said Masaomi.
"I'll go with you," Erica offered as they followed behind.
"He seems sweet," Hannah said once they were alone.
"He is, he's a good kid," Ukyo agreed.
"I hope I have some one day," he heard Hannah whispered.
"You want children?" he asked as casually as he could.
"Kind of, 3 or 4," Hannah admitted.
"Sounds like a good number ," Ukyo said out loud as he took her hand. Hannah blushed deep red, but with a huge smile.
Suddenly a huge person came up behind Hannah and angrily pushed her aside. Hannah stumbled forward and into Ukyo's arms.
"Uh, sorry," Hannah said embarrassed.
"It's alright," Ukyo assured her. Though he did feel the need to talk back to the man to push her. "Hey!" he called out.
"What?" the man asked as he turned around mad. Ukyo gasped.
"Robert?" he said softly.
"Surprised to see me?" Robert mocked as he continued onward.
"Why is he back here?" Ukyo asked worried; upset.
Hannah took his hand, "they must want to avoid too big of a scandal just yet," she said softly.
Ukyo nodded in agreement as he watched, nervous about seeing him coming towards Masaomi and Wataru.
Wataru was hurrying along to find June, only to be stopped by a random woman.
"Oh aren't you just adorable!" she said pinching his cheek, "aren't you one of the princess' brothers?"
"Yeah," Wataru mumbled as he tried pulling the woman off.
"Alice! Look at this little cutie!"
"Oh isn't he precious! Isn't he the one the king favors the most?!" She too started to pinch Wataru's cheek.
"Good thing we decided to follow him," Erica giggled as she and Masaomi came across Wataru with the older women. More women were starting to join the group.
"Yes, now we just have to figure out how to get him out of that!" Masaomi also laughed he knew he shouldn't laugh at his brother's misfortune, but it was a little cute seeing all the women swooning over him.
Suddenly he and Erica were pushed aside rather rudely.
"What the?" Masaomi started to say right before he saw who did it. His eyes widen in fear as Robert came to group of women around Wataru.
"Excuse me Ladies!" Robert snapped.
All the ladies gasped at his sight.
"What are you doing here?!" Wataru exclaimed, "Big sister told you to get lost!"
"You still have a big mouth, you little punk," Robert said. He looked like he was about to reach out and grab him, but both Masaomi and Erica quickly moved in front of him.
"Sorry about him Robert," Masaomi tried to calm the situation down.
"Yeah I bet," Robert said as he continued on his way.
"Watch your brother, sir," one of Wataru's admirers warned, "Robert's not above hurting children! I'm still sure he broke my daughter's arm!"
"Yes, thank you," Masaomi said. He took Wataru's hand, "you stay with me until we find June."
"You can have my hand too," Erica offered.
"Thank you," Wataru said, feeling happy to have extra protection.
"So are you having fun yet?" Kaname asked as he came up to Elizabeth.
"I guess," Elizabeth said, "I didn't realize how many people I've worked with as a diplomat were realted to the royal family!"
"I guess some don't want to admit to the connection," Kaname suggested.
"Yeah, I think you're right," Elizabeth agreed.
"Well I am intune with the universe as a monk," Kaname bragged.
"I thought monks were humbled," Elizabeth muttered.
"Excuse me, but are you Lord Kaname, the Buddhist monk?" a new man asked as he came up to pair.
"Why yes sir," Kaname said.
"Delighted to meet you good sir," the man said as he bowed his head, "allow me to introduce myself, I am Reverend Howard, I'm a nephew of the king."
"Oh another nephew and a fellow man of faith," Kaname said as he shook the man's hand.
"Yes," Howard said kindly, "I've always valued meeting other leaders of faith. I have a few friends in Japan still that are monks."
"Are any of them married?" Elizabeth asked out loud.
"Yes, two were last time I checked," Howard said, "they even have children."
"Do they?" Elizabeth said. She sounded surprised by the notion.
"Oh yes, it just depends on the order the serve with," Howard insisted.
"Are you married good sir?" Kaname asked.
"Widowed, I'm afraid, my poor wife passed away only last year," Howard confessed sadly.
"Oh, I beg pardon," Kaname apologized.
"Nah, I've come to peace with it and cherish the time I had with her," Howard insisted. He looked at Elizabeth, "just as sure I'm sure you'll be happy for the time you'll also have should you chose to wed. Do you plan to?"
"I've recently been toying with the idea," Kaname admitted smugly.
"Whoa, let's not get hastily!" Elizabeth declared.
"My dear, when the lord opens a new door to possibilities, one should at least explore it, less they scawnder the gifts they have received," Howard said.
"Sure, thank you good sir," Elizabeth muttered.
"Hello Revern Howard," two ladies suddenly called out, standing a little bit away. Both waved ina father seductive wat.
"Hello my little lambs," Howard called back, "were you hoping to hear about the good word?"
"Maybe," both women said.
Pherhaps later," Howard suggested.
Both women kept their flirtatious smiles as they walked off.
"Good sir?" Kaname said, a little intrigued
"Well I am still a man, human, and as such I do have desires. Desires I haven't been able to have satisfied since my wife's passing. And the lord shall forgive me I'm sure," Howard insisted.
"Are you still "spreading your good word" Howard?"
The three all turned as Robert approached.
"I thought I felt an unholy precense near," Howard said sternly.
"Spare me!" Robert snapped. He looked at Kaname, "I'd watch out for this one. He's got that weird vodo mind power or something. Made me punch one of my own men."
"As usual Robert, your ignorance both does and does not amaze me," Howard mocked.
"You know with that said, you know he's one of the princess' stepbrothers right?" Robert tried to whisper.
"Oh no is he really? i couldn't tell after that grand entrance when they were all announced," Howard said sarcastically.
"I'm only bringing this up because I'm worried. Who's to say he won't use his religious influences to control and manipulate Emma and make the whole country another Japan, or make it easier for Japan to concur us?"
"I assure you good sir, I have no intent of influencing my sister in her royal duties," Kaname said.
Robert looked surprised at Kaname's sudden comment. "You see?! He's got those weird powers or some bullshit!"
"Or maybe he heard your loud voice. You're not very good at being quiet," Howard said, "Robert are you really concerned with the idea of Ema being of Buddhist faith rather than our own? Or are you hoping you can gain support to help her lose credit as a potential heir to the throne and maybe helping you find a way to become king again?"
"At least I'm a devout Christian!" Robert insisted.
"I've observed more Christian behavior in Satan worshipers," Howard declared, "Robert, if you're trying to gain my support in whatever scheme you're up to now, I'll tell what I've always told you. I'll see myself in Hell before I ever support you as king!"
"Well, that just might be where you'll end up, cousin!" Robert threatened
"And I as I've also said before, the last one there, buys the beer," Howard taunted. Robert quickly walked off mad.
"I apologize for my cousin. I know my father and other uncle Prince George often tried to get through to him over his obsession with wanting to be king. But his mother warped him mind beyond reach. I've prayed many times for protection from him."
"I too have offered up prayers for and because of him," Kaname said, "and I really do have no intent of influencing my sister. Even thoug I myself am Buddhist, she's never been heavily religious."
"She'll probably have to convert though if she's to be queen, though huh?" Elizabeth asked.
"It's a likely possibility," Howard admitted, "but that doesn't mean she can't have respect for and follow the teachings of other religions."
"I'm sure whatever little Ema decides to do, she will do what is best," said Kaname.
"As do I," Howard agreed. Kaname noticed his eye wondering towards the two women that passed by.
"Don't let us hold you up Good sir, if you have work to do," he encouraged.
"I hope we can talk later Lord Kaname," Howard said, "it was delightful to meet you and your lady friend." He bowed and walked off to the women, throwing an arm around each of their waists.
"You and him seem to have a lot in common," Elizabeth said once they were alone again.
"Yes, I like him," Kaname said with a smirk.
"You would," Elizabeth chastised.
"But I probably would do what he did should I decide to marry. Be loyal to that one lucky woman for as long as we were together on this earth."
"Lucky her," said Elizabeth.
"Yes you would be," Kaname whispered in her ear. Elizabeth had to do her best to not react to the chill going through her body.
"Nice to see you again Rose," a random guest called out to Rose as she and Subaru walked around the ball room together.
"Hi Lady Janet, you're looking well," Rose called back.
"A lot of people sure seem to know you," Subaru said quietly.
"Well, a lot of the family still use the royal stables for their own horses so, my family's come to know many of them," Rose said.
"Hi Rose," a young man said walking up to her.
"Hi Earl," Rose said looking away annoyed.
"I hope to see you on the dance floor later," Earl said as he tried getting closer.
"She will, with me," Subaru declared as he pushed his way in between. Earl looked shocked.
"What? Rose since when...,"
"Since he came to meet his sister's family on her Elence side. He's one of Princess Ema's brothers," Rose said.
"Ah man!" Earl muttered as he lingered off in his own.
"Finally!" Rose said happily, "he's always hitting on me! But until I met you it was hard to shake him off, especially at parties."
Subaru nodded as he looked to make sure Earl had gone away and wasn't coming back. "Is that why you often tried to sneak out?"
"One of," Rose said, "why, do you still want to?"
Subaru thought about it, "nah, unless you want to leave, I think I'll stay here as long as Ema's here, in case she needs support."
"Fine with me," Rose agreed, taking his hand.
"Subaru! Subaru! I'm so glad you're here!" they both heard a new voice calling out. Subaru looked to see who's voice it was.
"Coach Holly?" he said in surprise as the collage basketball coach came towards him, "I didn't realize you were a member of the royal family."
"Oh sure, I'm the grandson of one of the king's uncles, Lord Ira," Coach Holly explained, "I heard somewhere that you've decided to transfer to the university! Is it true?"
"Yes, I have," Subaru replied.
"Wonderful!" Coach Holly said happily, "come to my office at the university Monday, and I'll help get you all squared away! I can't tell you how exciting it is for me to have you be joing my team! We'll be as great as when we had Richard!"
"Subaru actually beat him in a one on one match," Rose mentioned.
"Did you really?" Coach Holly asked eagerly.
"It was a close match though," Subaru insisted.
"Still! Oh I just know we're going to get back on the map with you!" Coach Holly said as he walked away looking excited. Subaru watched as he walked over to his family, talking how exciting about Subaru.
"Looks like you've already started making a name for yourself," Rose teased, "I do hope this works out in your favor."
"I think it will, even if I don't become an all star, this will be worth it," Subaru insisted. He smiled at Rose, "after I get taken care of Monday, how would you feel about going out to dinner? To celebrate?"
"I'd like that," Rose agreed with pleasure. Subaru suddenly saw her happy face disappear. He followed her gaze and realized Robert was walking past. He paused as he passed Coach Holly's family.
"Well, hello Pete, still calling your fruity son's little play thing your "son-in-law"?" he mocked.
"Oh haha, another joke at my son and his husband's expense?" Coach Holly asked annoyed. "And you wonder why none of my family or my cousins' family supported you even before you got the boot."
"Yes, like I'd want to get support from a family that thinks your son can marry a man," Robert taunted. He then noticed Subaru. "Of course you probably just support Emma so you can get yourself a star player on your loser team."
"At least it's not something that'll hurt others," Coach Holly defended.
"What's the matter? You afraid of having a championship basketball team?" Subaru asked.
"I'm surprise you guys even know what a basketball is. Don't you guys play with swords or something?" Robert asked.
"You're lucky we don't," Subaru muttered.
"I don't have time for you, or you," Robert said as he turn and sneered at Coach Holly and his family.
"He's always harassed Coach Holly over his son being gay, especially after the prime minister made gay marriage legal and his son was a big figure head for it. Given he was a member of the royal family. His son is the first publicly open gay member of the family, and both his parents have supported him."
"Yeah, at this point I don't think there's nothing Robert can do that's will make him likeable," Subaru said.
Now he surly didn't want to leave the ball, as long as Robert was there and possibility making it a little miserable for Ema.
Azusa walked over to Natasha who was leaning against a wall, trying to look pleasant.
"Hi, how are you feeling?" he quickly asked her.
"Doing okay for the most part, though my leg's acting up a little," Natasha admitted in a whisper.
Azusa looked around, "well here," he said as he led her to a chair.
"Thanks," Natasha said greatful, breathing a sigh of relief. "Oh, by the way, I spoke to my father ealier today about the offer your mom "found" for me in Japan with the corral."
"And what did he say? Did he agree or disagree with it?" Azusa asked a little worried.
"He was for it. He encouraged me to take it. Said he thought it was great opportunity for me," Natasha said.
"So?" Azusa proded.
"I think I'll take it, especially if my family is behind me on it," Natasha said, "but you have to promise me somethingn"
"Sure, what?" Azusa asked.
"You have to let me get a chane to see you do a voice recording! I'd love to see you at work!" Natasha said.
Azusa looked a little surprised but then smiled, "of course you can. I'm due to another season of that cop show anyway."
"Excellent!" Natasha cheered.
"Just don't tell anyone, no one's supposed to know yet," Azusa said trying to act secret.
"Are you giving away trade secrets again bro?" Tsubaki asked as he and Bea came over to them.
"Don't worry I won't snitch," Natasha promised. "I was just telling you're your brother, I've decided to come to Japan for a new job opportunity."
"Oh cool, we'll still be able to hang out together!" Bea said excited, "I'm sure some like the king wouldn't mind me still having an extra set of eyes on me."
"I wonder if that was one of the king's other motives for getting me to go to Japan as well," Natasha teased.
"We both can do that together," said Azusa, "I also have to keep Tsubaki in line."
"Oh please, you're exaggerating," Tsubaki insisted as he walked over and took Natasha's hand, "but I will say this, we'll make sure you don't regert joing us."
"Thanks," Natasha said.
"Yes, I'm sure she appreciates it, Tsubaki," Azusa said as he pulled his brother's hand away and actually put his own arm around Natasha's shoulder. Natasha actually smiled up at him over the gesture.
"Oh Bea, Hello!"
"Yes Hello Bea!"
"Oh shit, it's the mocking Jays!" Bea said suppressing a laugh.
"The who?" Tsubaki asked.
"Jerry and Jack, they'll repeat anything the other says! It's kind of cool!" Bea said as thr two men came up to her.
"We just wanted to see you're doing since you've broken your engagement to Robert."
"Yes we wanted to see how you've been since you broke up with Robert."
"Whoa," Tsubaki said.
"I've been great!" Bea assured them, "I've already started making new plans for myself!"
"Oh how nice, what kinds of plans?"
"Yes what kinds of plans? Are they nice?"
"I'm going to Japan for a while, study film making. Maybe look into getting work as a director," Bea said.
"A director? You?"
"Yes you a director?"
Both brothers looked at each other then smiled.
"Well good for you Bea! I bet you'll be great!"
"I agreed you'll be great at it! Good for you Bea!"
"Thanks," Bea said, "of course I couldn't have done all this without help from him." She nodded to Tsubaki.
"Oh you're one of Princess Emma's brothers, right?"
"Yes you are one of the brothers of Princess Emma, aren't you?"
"Yep, me and my twin," Tsubaki said looking at Azusa.
"Ah, another set of twins, how nice!"
"Yes it's so nice, another set of twins!"
"Thank you for all you've done for our uncle since coming. He looks like he's doing much better."
"Yes, our uncle is looking better since you've all come. Thank you for all you've done for him."
"Would either of you two be in line to the throne of Ema and Louis don't want it?" Azusa asked.
"Oh yes, but since we're the youngest of the cousins, we'd be last on the list before they looked into the extended family."
"Yes we are the last since out of all the cousins, we're the youngest."
"But we think Emma will be a great queen."
"Yes, Emma will be a fine queen."
"Thank you, I'm sure she'd appreciate that," said Azusa.
"Oh Jackson look, I think Howard's going off in one of his "lessons" of the good word again!"
"Og yes Jared, I do believe you are right!"
"Oh yeah, ever since the Revern lost his wife, he's become a bit of a playboy," Bea said as she followed the Mocking Jays' view.
"He was kind of that way before she passed away, before they were married anyway."
"Yes before he was like how he is now."
"Reminds me a little bit of Kaname," Tsubaki whispered.
"Oh Jarred, Jackson, hello...," Robert started to say as he came towards them. He paused though as he noticed who they werr talking to.
"I see you didn't wait long before you moved on," he snarled at Bea.
"Yeah, couldn't wait for something new and fresh," Bea replied without remorse.
"Whore," Robert snapped.
"Too bad you never got any huh?" Bea taunted as she wrapped her arms around Tsubaki and eve lifted her leg up his body.
Jerry Jackie werr heard suppressing a laugh.
Robert glared at them, "you want this kind of behavior seen among our precious royal family?!"
The twins stopped laughing and suddenly looked scared and intimidated.
"Well, it's not too bad."
"No, it's not that bad."
"Really? You know she even wants to marry a brother?!" Robert asked.
Jerry and Jack looked at Tsubaki and Azusa confused.
"If she is, this is the first we're hearing about it!" Tsubaki insisted.
"And even if she is, we're not related by blood," Azusa added.
Jared and Jackson look back at Robert waiting for his response.
"Just the same, do you want that kind of image for our family?" Robert asked.
"Well...," the two said together.
"Think about it you two. What would your father say?" Robert kept pushing.
At that both brothers took a deep breath.
"We do not live in our father's shadow any more!"
"No we are no longer under our father's shadow!"
"We were too little to stand up to you before and help protect Yolanda!"
"Yes we couldn't help protect Yolanda before since we we're too little!"
"Especially since our father wanted to protect us and keep us out of the way!"
"Yes out father wanted us to stay out of the way for our protection!"
"But now we are grown up and will stand up to you!"
"Yes we can stand up to you now that we've grown!"
"And we will never support you for king! We will support Princess Emma for queen!"
"Yes we will support Princess Emma for queen. We will never support you for king!"
"Hmm," Robert humphed, "you make adults but you'll alwayd be annoying little annoyances that I wish I wasn't related to!"
With that he stormed off.
"So your dad tried to keep you away from Robert?" Tsubaki asked once Robert was gone.
"We were little when Yolanda was being attacked and disappeared. And our dad thought it was best to not let us be her successors to the throne if something happened to her."
"Yes father didn't want us to be Yolanda's successors and risk getting hurt too since we were so little at the time."
"But we're grown now and we swore we'd stand by and protect Emma!"
"We we've promised we'd stand by Ema and protect her now that we're grown!"
"I'm sure she'll greatly appreciate that," said Azusa.
"Only she'd like it better if you called her Ema," Natasha mentioned.
"Huh Ema?"
"Ema huh?"
"That actually sounds nice," both said together.
Natsume stood watching the party with Emily observing the vast majority of people mingling around him.
"I'm thinking," he whispered to Emily, "what if we made this kind of the opening scene for the game? It starts out at a fancy royal ball or something?"
"And it gets ambushed by say the goblin? Or the troll?" Emily whispered back.
"Yeah, still can't decide what one I'd like better, the goblin or the troll," said Natsume.
"I'd say, have the goblin invade the party, but have the troll kill him midway through the game," Emily suggested.
"That's not a bad idea, given that the troll kills the goblin in that one story you showed me," Natsume agreed, "we'd just be following Elence lore."
"Exactly," Emily encouraged, "plus goblins were more known to linger towards towns and villages."
"In either way, I can see this ballroom be a good opening, maybe throw in a few elements from the old time ballroom," Natsume continued.
"Mmm, maybe I can help draw up some ideas!" Emily insisted snapping her fingers in excitement.
"That would be wonderful," Natsume said, "I you've decided to come back to Japan with me to help but I have to ask. If I can make the arrangements for me to be away longer with my company so I can come back to Elence, will you be okay with that?"
"Sure, I've come to really enjoy helping you with this. Who had known working on games was so great," Emily admitted smiling at Natsume.
"I'm glad you're enjoying it," Natsume said, "this game will be even greater if it's successful and profitable."
"Profit?"
"Profit?"
Natsume and Emily both suddenly had a man and woman right in their faces.
"Did you say something about making a profit on something?" the man asked.
"I'm sorry?" Natsume asked.
"If you're looking for investors, look no further!" said the woman, "Lady Regina, niece to the king and queen of fashion on her own right!"
"AND!" the man spoke up, "Lord Wilton, nephew to the king and king of the automotive industry in his owm right."
"But enough about us," Regina interrupted, "who are you? What kind business are you in?"
"I'm Natsume Asahina, Ema's stepbrother and a run a video game developing company. The king's asked me to make a game based on Elence and its folklore."
"A video game designer huh?" Regina said.
"You know, I think it's time Elence got more into the gaming industry! Tell me, are you making any plans of moving your company here?" Wilton asked.
"Um, I'm not totally sure, to be honest," Natsume said.
"Well, you should think about it, I'd be more than willing to sponer you, and be partners with you," Wilton insisted.
"As would I," Regina quickly said, "even if i end up as queen, I'd help support you to start a gaming company here!"
"I beg your pardon? What if you mean you end up as queen?" Natsume asked.
"Well, with Robert no longer in line to the throne, Lady Regina and Lord Wilton are next in line after Ema and Louis," Emily explained softly.
"There would be no shame with the idea of your sister not wanting to be queen," Wilton said.
"Right," Natsume muttered.
"Figures you two would try to get your hands on the crown once you think I'm gone."
"Ah!" both shouted as Robert came up between them.
"Hi-hi Robert," Wilton sputtered.
"Su-surprised to see you here," Regina said not looking his way.
"So what kind of money scheme are you two up to now?" Robert asked.
"It's not a scheme! We're just interested in possibility bringing gaming industry to Elence. What's wrong with that?" Regina asked.
"Hmm nothing I suppose," Robert mocked. "Let's just hope little Emma doesn't try being all modern and compassionate and try revoking some of those tax breaks you two enjoy."
"Would she do that?" Wilton asked looking at Natsume.
"Ema always does what's right, so you better hope these taxs loopholes are right, otherwise who knows?" Natsume said bluntly.
Regina and Wilton both looked uneasy.
"Well, I'm sure your sister's reasonable," Regina said softly.
"Yes she is, as long as it's right," Natsume said as he took Emily's hand and walked off with her.
"I gues it couldn't hurt to see if they'd could use a hand in the gaming market," Natsume said.
"Well, if you have to do a lot of extended work here for the game, you could do open maybe a temporary branch, see if it could be profitable," Emily suggested.
"Yes, I may just try that," Natsume said.
"And I'll be there to help you along the way," Emily promised.
"I'm sure I'll need it," Natsume said smiling at her.
"Would she really revoke some of those tax breaks?" Regina kept asking worried.
"I don't know if I could afford to let her do that," Wilton fretted.
"You know I wouldn't revoke them," Robert started to say, "as king I would have made sure you get to enjoy your life style you've come accustomed to."
"Really?" his cousins asked curious.
"No, I'd never hurt my precious cousins with taxes," Robert started to assure them.
"Well too bad you don't have control over the taxes around the country, that's usually parliament's duty, like my mother the prime minister," Heather said suddenly as she and Hikaru suddenly came up to him, "all you can do is make suggestions to either parliament or the house of council."
"You!" Robert snarled.
"Hello Miss Cook, surprised to see you here," said Regina.
"Is your mother here?" Wilton asked.
"Oh no, she's here as my guest," Hikaru explained.
"How is your mother?" Regina asked.
"I hope she's doing well!" Wilton added.
"Don't worry, she's not feeling the need to revoke those tax breaks you're worried about loosing," Heather said smugly, "at least not now."
"Oh well, your mother's always been a good worker," said Wilton.
"Oh brother," Robert muttered.
"Something a miss Sir?" Hikaru asked.
"Oh don't worry about me, Robert snarled, "I'm sure you and your brother have already worked on Miss Cook here, and I don't know, Miss Cook, how are you related to that other black woman here?"
"Who?" Heathet asked.
"The one who's here with one his brothers? Is she your cousin or something?"
"Are you referring to Miss Tanner?" Hikaru asked.
"Miss Tanner and I aren't related," said Heather, "why would you assume that? Because we're both dark skin?"
That's a very unfair assumption sir," Hikaru said a little bitter, "and as for your orginal rant, I am not working Miss Cook to get to her mother! Nor are any of my brothers! We're not as sneaky as you!"
"Sure you aren't!"Robert shouted. He looked at Regina and Wilton who were talking to cozy up to Heathet who look like she was merely humoring them.
Robert sluked off. He waited until he was more or less alone before he started to play with a small red vile in his pocket.
"There should be enough for those 5 pest with plenty left over for uncle Louis and of course Emma. I had hoped to see if I could get support from my cousins but they've made their choices. I never liked them anyway."
