Summary: After being rescued from their initial encounter, Irma learns of the Lotus Ninjas' origin in the Crete Fortress, and they all agree that Sage Lincoln and her rampaging Nanocats must be stopped.
The Lotus Ninjas stared down at the shocking Irma.
"Mind blown!" Irma exclaimed. "When did you four got your powers? Who designed those stylish leotards? How did you girls learn to fight like that? There's no way…!"
"Irma, chill out." Ellie said.
"We need you to stay focus." Lee said.
"Sorry." Irma apologized. She slowly inhaled and took a deep breath. "It's just we know each other since the beginning of high school and it turns out that my friends are magic-wielding ninjas."
Saldana suddenly teleported in front of Irma, making her yelp in surprise.
"Kunoichi, to be exact. Now, are you ready to answer some questions?" Saldana asked.
"Yes, ma'am, I am." Irma replied. "I know this is a lot to take in, but I'll be alright."
"Now, care to explain how my daughters revealed themselves to you?" Saldana questioned. "They know very well if the humans found out about our mystical existence, it would place all of us in great danger."
"But, mother, those robots were after Irma. We have no choice but to save her with magic." Ella explained.
"Yeah, I would never tell anybody." Irma said calmly. "I mean, who's gonna believe me if I did?"
"She's got a point." Donna commented.
"I won't tell anyone. Trust me, I promise." Irma promised.
Saldana walked up in front of Irma. With an intensive face, her eyes glowed bright white and began detecting any lies by hearing closely to Irma's heartbeat.
"I believe you." Saldana said. She turned to her daughters. "Your friend is telling the truth."
"But, if you want me to keep your secret, what exactly is it?" Irma asked. "It's easy to tell that you guys aren't magicians."
"Better yet, I'll show you." Saldana said.
Saldana lifted her left hand up in the air. Her magic created a large white bubble that encompassed everyone. The bubble mystically presented images all around for her daughters and their friend to watch and observe.
[Flashback]
Fifteen years ago…
In their humble home, young Saldana and her husband Caesar gazed down in adoration at their newborn babies.
Suddenly, a harsh blaze exploded outside their home. The young couple's adoring smiles disappeared.
"Long ago, when my four babies had just been born, Caesar and I were forced to flee."
Caesar led his wife as they struggled across a magical energized bridge above the beautiful ocean.
"And though we used our magic, we could not escape the dangers."
Caesar glanced back. His hopeful gaze turned troubled. Danger had followed them, and he had no choice but to face it and protect his family. He looked lovingly into his wife's eyes, kissed his newborn daughters, and left to confront the threat. Once darkness drew closer, young Saldana knew that something terrible had happened. Caesar was not coming back.
"And my husband was lost."
Filled with grief, young Saldana knelt by the shore. When all seemed lost, Leona's spade-shaped birthmark suddenly flickered bright and strong. And then Michelle's diamond-shaped birthmark, Rafaela's heart-shaped birthmark, and Donatella's club-shaped birthmark grew brightly.
"But I wasn't ready to give up hope."
Saldana's eyes went determined. As she stood up, Saldana created a large white glimmering orb of energy and threw it into the air.
"To avoid the dangers, I've used every amount of my magic to build us a cloaking home to shelter me and my daughters."
An energy orb grew brighter and brighter, and formed a magnificent airship in a flash.
Saldana watched as the airship began to turn invisible and floated slowly up in the air. The tiny mystic babies squealed in amazement. Saldana picked up her daughters in her arms and drifted into the airship, which led them high into the sky above the state of New York.
"When my daughters came of age, they each inherited magical elements of water, fire, earth, and air."
The next morning, five-year-old Lotus Ninjas gathered around in a circle.
Donna sprouted a rose from the ground and bloomed beautifully.
"Wow!" Donna exclaimed with a smile.
Ella conjured a ball of fire between her hands.
"Oh yeah!" Ella grinned.
Lee extended her hands forward, creating a medium-sized bubble of water above her palm.
"Yes." Lee beamed.
Ellie swirled her finger around that generated a small tornado.
"Awesome!" Ellie shouted.
From a distance, Saldana smiled at her daughters.
Ten years later, Saldana watched as the Lotus Ninjas sparred each other in the dojo room. Their elemental magic grew stronger after years of practice.
"In order to prepare them from the outside world, I began teaching them ninjitsu. Not only my daughters have mastered the secret arts of stealth and power, but their magic combined with every technique. Leona, Donatella, Rafaela, Michelle. Together they are…"
[Flashback Ends]
The Lotus Ninjas high-fived with each other.
"Unstoppable!" Lee, Donna, Ella, and Ellie exclaimed.
"Just out of curiosity. Who taught you martial arts?" Irma asked Saldana.
"That is a story I would tell…for another time." Saldana replied.
"Okay, now it's our turn. What do you know about those robot cats?" Lee asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Vortex Technologies was having an internship and I signed up for academic purpose." Irma explained. "Doctor Lincoln said the Nanocats are programmed to become pet bodyguards when she presented them during the tour. But then, I got suspicious when one of them started to malfunction during the presentation."
Irma reached her hand into her pocket and took out her phone.
"This video will explain everything about her real plan." Irma said.
At the New York State Museum, people chatted and observed vast historical collections filled with objects from everyday New Yorkers, ranging from a collection of furniture and household goods to a set of daguerreotypes and tintypes that came from different centuries.
From inside the storage room, the Nanocats uncloaked themselves from every corners. One of the Nanocats looked up the cameras and blasted red lasers that destroyed them one by one.
As the Nanocats scattered towards remarkable artifacts in glass cases, they generated a red sphere from their mouths and placed it on the glass cases, making only some of them vanish all at once.
Sage looked at her Nanocats' progress on the computer screen from her office.
"Well done, my kittens!" Sage said with a grin. "Now, no one will succeed above my flawless intellect."
Back at the Crete Fortress, the Lotus Ninjas and Saldana finished watching the video from Irma's phone.
"So, all this time she made those Nanocats to track down magic?" Donna exclaimed. "That would explain one of them attacked me back at the school earlier."
"Uh, guys?" Ellie called out. "You may wanna take a look at this."
Ella, Donna, Saldana, Irma, and Lee turned their attention to the television screen.
"A daring robbery at New York State Museum left the security staffs and the police completely puzzled." The news reporter informed. "Call the Crime Stoppers hotline if anyone has any leads."
The television screen pulled up an image of the floor that presented a feline footprint.
Irma stood up off the couch and placed her hands on her hips.
"And that's not all. Sage got her Nanocats stealing artifacts from the museum." Irma said with a frown. "I'm guessing every mystical artifact at sight."
"I say we go out and trash those pussycats." Ella said as she cracked her knuckles.
"That's the hard part." Irma explained. "Vortex Technologies is rigged with latest advanced security tech."
"That's where I come in." Donna said with a confident smile. "No technology can bypass me."
In Vortex Technologies, Sage sat on her chair and watched her creations on the computer screen in awe from a balcony platform. A large group of Nanocats walked forward into the secret room, where they started breaking every glass case and taking out the artifacts before placing them into aluminum briefcases.
"Marvelous!" Sage exclaimed excitedly. "To think some historical artifacts were constructed with magic and no one noticed until me."
Outside, the Lotus Ninjas and Irma stood on the highest rooftop. They looked towards a company building across from them. The building was large grey tower with the large letters "Vortex Technologies" printed above it.
"Is this the place?" Lee asked Irma.
"Yup, that's the place." Irma answered.
Donna outstretched her arms and projected a holographic map of Vortex Technologies tower.
"One of the labs has a computer terminal." Donna informed.
"If we can get inside, I can create blind spots in the security system." Irma said.
"Roger that." Donna nodded.
Donna moved her index finger in a circle, pointing her magic in front of her and forming a purple portal. She, Irma, Ellie, Ella, and Lee ran through the portal, where they entered inside the empty room. Irma ran up and sat on the chair in front of the computer panel, successfully hacking into the system.
"Okay, I'm in." Irma said. "I'm blanking the cameras from the corridor all the way Sage's main lab for a whole hour. Good luck, girls."
"We will." Lee said.
The Lotus Ninjas raced through the corridors until they finally made it into Sage's main laboratory.
Suddenly, the entrance door closed from behind. The Lotus Ninjas looked up at the balcony platform, where Sage is standing down at them.
"What's this?" Sage asked in surprise. "How did these intruders manage to sneak past my security tech?!"
Sage moved her eyes to the small screen on the panel that showed the figures of the Lotus Ninjas, radiating with immense mystical energy all around them.
"What. On. Earth?" Sage muttered to herself in shock. She put on a wicked smile on her face. "Forget the artifacts. These girls are carrying magical energies that is way off the charts. I'm taking them as my prized possessions."
As Sage pressed a blue button, several giant robotic arms descending down from the ceiling and began blasting laser beams at the Lotus Ninjas. Lee backflipped past the firing lasers and fired a stream of scalding hot water at the robotic arms. Ellie evaded firing lasers with swift speed and released a stream of light orange X-shaped blades of air energy from her hands at the robotic arms. Ella ran forward and constructed a fire whip in her hand, striking the robotic arms with a burning lash. Donna sprang up to one of the robotic arms and spun herself around in rapid speed, firing multiple glowing purple seeds from her hands that exploded the rest of robotic arms on impact.
The Lotus Ninjas then charged to the balcony platform. What they don't know is that Sage was typing new commands on the Nanocats' programming on the panel.
"Ellie, wind blast!" Ella called out.
"I'm on it!" Ellie nodded.
Ellie sprang herself up in the air and created a strong gust of wind through her mouth, breaking the glass into shards and making Sage fall to the ground in fear.
Ellie, Lee, Donna, and Ella stood in front of Sage.
"Who…who are you?!" Sage asked in fear.
"They're with me!"
Sage turned around to see Irma standing behind the open door.
"And thanks to the evidence I've download, you're going to jail for a long time, Sage!" Irma said.
"Nice work, Irma." Donna grinned.
"Ha, you're too late. I reprogrammed my Nanocats to tear you all into pieces!" Sage said with a smile.
Ellie, Lee, Donna, Ella, and Irma ran up to the broken window. They saw one door opening a massive horde of Nanocats charging out with fierce screeches.
But suddenly, the Nanocats stopped running. The lights in their eyes started beeping, leaving everyone stare in a mix of surprise and confusion.
Sage quietly snuck backwards and ran out of the door.
"Uh, what just happened?" Lee asked.
"Oh yeah, about that. Since I wasn't able to shut them down, I can only stop the Nanocats with a self-destruct sequence." Irma explained with a sheepish smile.
"Well, if that case…run for your lives!" Ellie yelled. She then noticed that Sage was nowhere in the platform. "Hey, Sage's gone!"
"Forget her, Ellie. We've got to get out of here." Ella said.
Ella twisted her hand into a fist and opened it down, pointing her magic in front of her and forming a large red portal on the ground. She, Ellie, Lee, Donna, and Irma jumped through the portal.
With smoke coming out of their bodies, the Nanocats meowed and exploded massively that destroyed the entire laboratory on heavy impact.
Meanwhile, Sage was running through the corridors with a chuckling grin.
"My Nanocats may be destroyed, but at least I've got my artifacts to further my research." Sage said.
Then, Sage stopped running when she found herself being confronted by Sienna.
"Oh great. Now, who are you?" Sage asked.
"Let's just say I'm a friend who can help further your research into your wildest dreams." Sienna offered,
Sienna's offer instantly caught Sage's interest.
"Is that so? Show me." Sage said with a grin. "But first, I'm gonna need you to find some suitcases for me at my lab."
Back in the Crete Fortress, the Lotus Ninjas, Irma, and Saldana watched the news report on T.V.
"With the reports of the destruction of the Vortex Technologies building and the sudden disappearance of Doctor Sage Lincoln, the authorities are determined to continue their search despite their puzzlement." The male newscaster informed.
"We are truly grateful for your assistance, Irma." Saldana said to Irma.
"No problem." Irma said with a smile. "I mean, going on a mission with my magic-wielding, butt-kicking friends is one of the best things that ever happen to me."
"Cheers to the new team!" Lee grinned.
Lee, Irma, Donna, Ellie, and Ella high-fived together with proud smiles.
"Yeah!" Lee, Irma, Donna, Ellie, and Ella cheered.
"Also, can we talk about them?" Irma asked, pointing her finger at Ryoko and Ekron. "They are so cute."
"It's a long story." Ellie said.
Meanwhile, Sienna escorted Sage into the main room inside the Shadow Clan tower.
"Here's Doctor Sage Lincoln as you requested, mother." Sienna said.
"I heard you're a remarkable scientist." Rozu said. "Your vast knowledge on technology may be useful for me. I have an offer that will make you brilliant beyond your wildest dreams of science."
"Of course. You heard correct." Sage said with a proud smile. "And I'm humbly accept your offer. But if you want my research to continue, I will need a lab and few equipments. And in exchange, I will offer you suitcases with mystical artifacts."
"Mystical artifacts? Very impressive." Rozu said with a surprised look on her face. "Deal." She turned to Sienna. "Escort Sage to her new laboratory."
Sienna nodded her head and ushered Sage out of the room.
Mira then teleported in front of Rozu, holding a head of Nanocat in her hands.
"Here's the image you wanted, mother." Mira said.
Mira snapped her fingers and the Nanocat's head projected a holographic image of the Lotus Ninjas.
Rozu stared at the image with narrow eyes.
"So, these are the ones you and your sister were telling me about." Rozu said. "Very interesting."
