Summary: Lady Shade attempts to convince Leona that she is fighting the good fight.
In the Crete Fortress, Saldana and the Lotus Ninjas gathered together inside the dojo.
"Tonight's training is to come up with a new fighting move." Saldana said. She looked at Ellie. "Ellie, please begin."
Ellie nodded. She lifted her hands forward and manifested a miniature vortex of wind before creating needle-shaped spears in the air and sending them to strike the training dummy at once.
"Well done, Michelle. Very creative." Saldana commented with a smile.
"What can I say? I'm swift as the wind." Ellie smiled back.
Then, Ella created multiple small fireballs that took the form of a large lotus flower and delivered a rapid barrage of fireballs. Ellie screamed and started dodging while avoiding getting burn at the same time.
"And that's why you don't mess with fire." Ella smiled.
"So, it would appear, Rafaela." Saldana nodded in agreement. She then turned to Donna. "Donatella?"
Donna smiled. She placed her hands down to the ground and summoned countless vines that instantly constructed a spherical cradle around Ella and Ellie. A lotus flower bud then appeared at the top and launched powerful blasts of earth magic at the dodging Ella and Ellie from its opening bud.
"I haven't had the time to try new moves on my element, so I focused this new move on plants instead." Donna answered. "Think of it as a Venus Fly-Trap catching its prey."
"How about you, Lee?" Saldana asked her oldest daughter.
"I have been working on something." Lee grinned. "Watch this."
Lee formed a ball of water in front of both hands and then shot it into the air, creating a large storm cloud above her sisters. The storm cloud then released three pressurized streams of water toward Ellie, Ella, and Donna.
"Pretty sweet, huh?" Lee said with a bragging smile.
"Oh great. First, getting burn. Then, getting blasts. And now, getting my hair wet." Ellie complained.
"Nice technique, Lee." Donna said sarcastically with a deadpan face.
"Very original." Ella said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.
"Well detailed, Leona." Saldana commented.
"Thank you, mother." Lee said as she bowed her head.
"Now, attack me with your new move." Saldana ordered.
Lee's face went completely shock.
"What? Is mom asking Lee to use her new move on her?" Donna said to Ella and Ellie.
"Oh, this is gonna be good." Ella grinned as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Ellie covered her mouth, trying to prevent her giggle.
Saldana got into fighting stance towards Lee. Ella, Donna, and Ellie quickly backed away with smirks on their faces.
"Mother, I don't think this is a good idea." Lee said with an unsure tone in her voice.
"Attack me. Now." Saldana demanded.
Lee sighed. She formed a ball of water in front of both hands and then shot it into the air, creating a large storm cloud above her sisters. The storm cloud then released a pressurized stream of water toward Saldana. But Saldana evaporated the water stream with one hand.
Lee gasped shockingly. Even Ella, Donna, and Ellie dropped their mouths with astounding faces.
Lee shook her head and continued summoning more pressurized water streams coming at Saldana from the storm cloud. But Saldana blocked each water stream with amazing speed and agility. She launched a serpent-shaped thread of white magic to evaporate the storm cloud and zoomed towards Lee, forming a coil to restrain her.
Suddenly, Lee's eyes went pure red for a split second. Through her eyes, an unexpected vision came into her view. In her vision, she saw a stocky, muscular teenage mutant turtle standing in front of her. He has forest green skin, blue ninja bandana for the eyes, brown elbow and shoulder pads, and a pair of katana swords on the back of his shell. He looked straight at her with narrow eyes.
After her vision ended, Ella, Donna, and Ellie all laughed at their oldest sister's defeat.
"Remember, Leona. Just because you have increased your potential within your magic doesn't mean cockiness will get you forward as a kunoichi." Saldana said. "But I'm afraid you have learned nothing from this lesson."
Lee only stared at her mother in a mix of surprise and confusion. She looked down with a frown.
Later that night, Lee sat on top of a water tower that stood on a building rooftop.
"I don't get it. I've been practicing ninjutsu and magic throughout my entire life, and then she tells me that I haven't learned one single lesson." Lee muttered.
Lee sighed in frustration. She hopped off the water tower and landed on the ground as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Mother just doesn't get how important the water element is to me." Lee said. "And she thinks I'm being cocky. Who's cocky? I mean, I'll have a little fun every now and then, but that doesn't mean I'm cocky."
Suddenly, Lee detected a mysterious aura coming from behind. She stood perfectly still as someone was walking silently close and reached his hand out to her.
Stealthily, Lee engulfed her hands with water magic. A glowing blue magic circle appeared underneath the person and two whips composed of water wrapped around him together. Lee turned around to pose a strike at the stalker with a glare.
But seeing the identity of a stalker made her eyes widen wide in complete surprise. The stalker appeared to be a stocky, muscular teenage mutant turtle. He has forest green skin, blue ninja bandana for the eyes, and a pair of katana swords on the back of his shell. He also has the same height as the blue mystic kunoichi.
Lee's jade green eyes instantly connected with the mutant turtle's black eyes. She felt her heart picking up speed. Her eyes glinted with a magenta shade just as it occurred with the mutant turtle, igniting an instant magical attraction between them.
A small gasp escaped out of her mouth as she quickly realized that he is the same mutant from her vision.
"A kappa?" Lee said in confusion.
"No, I'm a kappa. And I'm not your enemy." The mutant turtle said. "I'm actually a ninja just like you."
Lee's eyes moved to the turtle's katana swords before looking back at him. She lifted her right hand and closed her eyes, detecting pure aura within the mutant.
"You have a good aura." Lee said calmly.
Lee snapped her fingers, dissolving two watery whips that released the mutant turtle.
"And to prove that you are a ninja, show me what you got." Lee said.
Lee backflipped away from the mutant turtle and constructed a katana sword made of solid water with one hand before getting into her offensive stance.
The mutant turtle then took out his katana sword from his back and got into his offensive stance.
"If you insist." The mutant turtle replied with a smirk. "It's not every day I get to fight a worthy opponent."
"Ditto." Lee smirked back.
Lee launched herself at the mutant turtle first and swung her katana sword at him, but the mutant turtle quickly blocked the attack with his katana sword. The mutant turtle was about to strike the blue mystic kunoichi with his sword, but Lee quickly countered gracefully with her sword. Lee and the mutant turtle exchanged swift, rapid slashes and defensive blocks with their own katana swords. In reality, they're actually enjoying their sparring due to their equally enhanced speed, agility, reflexes, and stamina.
Then, Lee and the mutant turtle took a step back.
"Impressive." The mutant turtle complimented with a smile. "It's almost sword fighting style is similar like mine."
"Thanks, but I also prefer an unexpected approach." Lee said.
Lee clenched her katana sword tight and rapidly spun herself around, firing a barrage of crescent-shaped water projectiles to attack the mutant turtle at once. The mutant turtle swung his katana sword and blocked the attack with rapid speed.
Swiftly, Lee then charged towards the mutant turtle and stopped spinning before swinging her leg and kicking him. She then came around and kicked him again with her other leg that sent him flying to the ground.
"Wow. You weren't kidding about that unexpected approach." The mutant turtle said. He kicked himself off the ground and walked up to Lee. "I'll admit I did not see that move coming."
"Well, my fifteen years of training did pay off." Lee grinned.
"Though I've never met a kunoichi with water powers before." The mutant turtle said.
"I'm a mystic kunoichi actually." Lee explained. "I can channel my magical energies to my advantages in battle. In case what you just witness, my element is water."
"As in the four classical elements?" The mutant turtle asked as he placed his katana sword to the back of his shell.
"Exactly." Lee confirmed.
"I'm Leonardo, but you can call me Leo." The mutant turtle introduced as he extended his hand out towards Lee.
Lee vaporized her katana sword out of thin air and shook Leo's hands.
"Leona." Lee said. "But I go by Lee."
Lee and Leo then continued gazing into each other's eyes while stepping closer to each other. They both were completely unaware that two different ninjas hiding out of plain sight. One ninja is from the Shadow Clan and the other ninja appeared to be from a different clan.
Both ninjas aimed an arrow from their bow and fired it straight at Lee. But Lee quickly turned around with narrow eyes and caught the arrows with one hand before it could hit her face.
Leo searched around for the ones who shot the arrows, but the Shadow Ninja and the other ninja vanished without a trace.
"Lee, are you alright?" Leo asked in concern.
"I'm fine." Lee said. She looked at the arrows. "My aura sense can be advantageous for things like this."
Lee engulfed the rolled-up paper on the arrow in blue magic aura and opened them up just as Leo leaned in.
"Okay, it's not your regular mail. I guess my brother Mikey would call it..." Leo said. He did an impression of his brother. "Airmail."
Lee giggled, making Leo blush on his face. Then, they focused on reading the letters.
The letter read: "Warriors, if you are reading this note, you have passed the first test. I call upon you as a point of honor to meet with me, if you follow the way of Bushido. You will come and only you will come alone."
"Hmm, I wonder who could've sent this." Lee said. She and Leo both noticed an address on both letters. "Oh, it also has the same address. 16 South Boyle."
"That's not far." Leo said. He picked up Lee in his arms with a grin. "Shall we?"
"We shall." Lee grinned back.
With that, Leo sprinted forward across building rooftops.
Leo kept sprinting across building rooftops until he jumped down and sped into an alleyway.
But they paid no attention to the three mystic kunoichis watching them from a building rooftop above while the other three mysterious figures are also watching Leo and Lee from a corner.
Leo ran towards the building and placed Lee down. He opened the door and walked inside. Before Lee could follow, she looked back and narrowed her eyes as if she quickly detected three familiar auras.
"Lee, something wrong?" Leo asked.
"It's nothing." Lee replied. "Let's go."
Lee walked inside closed the door behind her.
Ella, Donna, and Ellie sprang over to the building rooftop. They looked down through the skyglass.
"Okay, I know Lee was upset about the lesson earlier, but this time she's acting weird." Ellie said.
"Yeah, going off like this ain't Lee's style." Donna stated.
"Yeah, that's normally my style." Ella said.
"Yeah, because having two Ellas will be a dream come true for everybody. Ellie said sarcastically.
"Let's just do this and get it over with." Donna said. "Ready?"
Ella and Ellie nodded. They and Donna closed their eyes for a moment. When they opened them again, they are glowing red, orange, and purple.
"Mienai." Ella, Ellie, and Donna casted.
A brilliant red, orange, and purple light emitted Ella, Ellie, and Donna that made them completely invisible.
Ellie opened the glass door. She and her older sisters jumped down and landed on the second floor as the spell shielded them from detection. They walked over to the rail and saw their oldest sister and the mutant turtle from down below.
"There she is." Ellie whispered. She then looked at Leo. "And who's that with her?"
"Beats me." Donna replied with a shrug. "A kappa, maybe."
Ella looked at Leo for a moment, but she sighed in relief when she noticed that the mutant turtle is wearing a blue ninja bandana instead of red.
"Hey, you okay, Ella?" Ellie asked Ella.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Ella replied quickly. "Let's just listen to what's going on down there."
Lee and Leo walked forward to enter into a large room together. The room contained a burner of hot, smoking coals on one side, but there's no one here. Leo and Lee kept looking around the room suspiciously.
"Hello?" Leo called out. "Hello?"
Leo stopped and pulled back in surprise.
"Leo, what's wrong?" Lee asked.
Lee looked forward and gasped in surprise.
Both Lee and Leo stared at two emblems of different clan symbols on the shoji screens. One symbol represents the Shadow Clan while the other symbol represents the Foot Clan.
Leo growled and clenched his fists in anger.
But Lee's eyes widened when she quickly detected visible auras popping up around the whole room.
"Heads up. We've got company." Lee said to Leo in alarm.
Suddenly, a group of Foot Ninjas and Shadow Ninjas came out of hiding. They flooded into the room and surrounded Leo and Lee.
Donna, Ellie, and Ella watched the action from the first floor above.
"Shoot. It's an ambush." Donna said with narrow eyes.
"Thirteen against two? That's not fair fight." Ellie said.
Donna and Ellie summoned their magic from their hands, but Ella held up her hand to stop them.
"Hold up. This is Lee we're talking about. If she needs our help, we'll know." Ella assured. "Let's just see how this fight will turn out."
Leo pulled out his katana swords while Lee engulfed her hands with water magic. As the Foot Ninjas and the Shadow Ninjas moved closer and closer, Leo and Lee huddled close back-to-back.
"Whoever takes out the most wins." Lee said with a smile.
"You're on." Leo smiled back.
Leo jumped in the air and landed on the ground with a fighting posture with his swords. Three Foot Ninjas jumped at Leo, but Leo rolled out of the way. He then jumped back up and attacked them all at once with a single, swift kick. Lee backflipped over three Shadow Ninjas and started releasing concentrated beams of water from her hands at them. She then swiped her arms and sent rapid blasts of water at the other three Shadow Ninjas that were running towards here with their weapons. Leo sliced off the swords coming from the Foot Ninjas and kicked one of them away, which leaves Lee unleash a circular torrent of water in front of her hands and attacked the remaining Shadow Ninjas in a cyclone of water that was strong enough to knock them along with the Foot Ninjas to the ground.
Leo and Lee stood together as all Foot Ninjas and Shadow Ninjas laid on the floor while groaning in pain and defeat.
"Looks like it's a tie." Leo grinned.
"Pretty much." Lee grinned back.
Then, Leo and Lee heard clapping. They turned their attention to a man and a woman standing together in the shadows.
"Impressive, very impressive." A Japanese man commented.
"Our agents said you two were good, but their description doesn't do you justice." A Japanese woman added.
Both mysterious strangers stepped out of the shadows with grins on their faces. The man has black hair that reaches close to his chin and brown eyes. He wore a grey kimono shirt that has long white sleeves with pale brown trim, white pants with pale brown sash-like belt, and traditional Japanese shoes. The women revealed herself as Rozu as she was wearing a black business suit with a white undershirt, silver-grey buttons, and black high heels.
"I am Oruko Saki, eighth generation master of ninjutsu." The man introduced.
"And I am Ravenna Rozu, master of mystic ninjutsu." The woman introduced.
"And you are...?" Saki asked.
Leo puts his swords away and bowed.
"Leonardo." Leo introduced.
Lee narrowed her eyes at Saki and Rozu. She detected dangerous auras coming from both of them, but she composed herself to avoid suspicion from Saki and Rozu.
"And I'm Leona." Lee introduced with a bow.
Saki and Rozu walked up to Leo and Lee.
"Your appearance is very striking. It's..." Saki said to Leo.
"It's not a costume. Although I know that's hard to believe." Leo interrupted.
"And your magic is very impressive." Rozu said to Lee. "If I may ask, do you have any other abilities besides...?"
"No." Lee lied.
"Then, how were you able to sense our ninjas?" Rozu questioned.
"By moisture." Lee lied again. "All living things carry moisture through their skin. That's why I was able to sense them."
"Hmm, much easier to believe than you might imagine." Saki said. "I have seen enough of this world to expect the extraordinary. And you two are extraordinary."
"But we did not ask you two here to flatter you. We have important matters to discuss." Rozu said.
"Then I take it you two sent us this." Leo said, holding up the note in his hand.
"Yes." Rozu responded with a nod. "Saki and I felt it was urgent that we meet. There are things you need to know."
"And that would be?" Lee asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
"There are definitely things I need to know." Leo retorted to Saki. "Like why these ninjas, your ninjas, have been trying to break our heads for months now."
"Not to mention, your ninjas have been kicking our butts for months as well." Lee added as she glared at Rozu.
"That is exactly why we need to talk. We have been fighting each other when we should actually be on the same side. Fighting against our true enemy." Saki said.
"I think we have the scars to prove that you guys are the true enemy." Leo countered as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"So, why should we even listen to you?" Lee asked.
Saki and Rozu narrowed her eyes with low growls.
"I see. To you, nothing is clear now. You have been caught in the middle of a battle that is so much bigger than yourselves. But you must know there is a force." Rozu said.
"A corrupt and evil force that is out there right now, working its insidious tentacles into every aspect of our world. It is an organization devoted to obtaining power through crime, political manipulation, corruption on a global level." Saki explained.
"Whoa." Leo said in shock.
But Lee wasn't buying it.
From above, Donna, Ellie, and Ella exchanged unconvinced faces.
Saki and Rozu walked up to the wall that has two large symbols of the Foot Clan and the Shadow Clan.
"Unfortunately, the only thing standing against this evil force is us and our humble army of ninjas." Saki added. He and Rozu turned back to Leo and Lee. "We stand alone against them as our masters did and their masters before them."
"It has been our destiny to fight for the side of good. We were hoping that you would find it in your heart to join us and fight against this evil." Rozu said. "We could stand together."
Leo looked speechless, but Lee narrowed her eyes in doubt.
"Well, I...I..." Leo spoke.
"I could not ask you two to decide here and now. Meditate upon what you have heard today and come again tomorrow night with your answers." Rozu said.
Leo and Lee bowed. As they turned to leave, Saki and Rozu stopped them.
"Wait. There is one more thing." Saki said.
When Saki clapped his hand twice, a Foot Ninja and a Shadow Ninja walked towards their masters. A Foot Ninja carried a sword on a blue pillow while a Shadow Ninja carried a tessen on a pink pillow.
"This sword has been in my family for 300 years." Saki explained as he took the sword in both hands. "It was crafted by the mast Toshi Kurahara in the 16th century. It is said that in the forging..."
"Kurahara folded the metal over seven-hundred times to remove any impurities." Leo finished.
"Hmm. Yes, you are impressive. It is for you to keep." Saki said, handing the sword out to Leo.
"No, I…" Leo refused.
"Take it." Saki insisted as he placed the sword in Leo's hand.
"And you keep this as well." Rozu said as she picked up the tessen and held it to Lee. "This tessen was crafted in the 16th century by a legendary samurai. Not only it's beautiful, but it's also unassuming but very powerful in my family. It would be unwise to refuse such a remarkable weapon."
Lee looked at the tessen and took it without refusal.
"We wish you to have these gifts as a token of our sincerity." Saki said.
Saki and Rozu bowed before walking back into the shadows.
Leo and Lee looked down at the weapons they are holding. Then, they took their leave towards the exit.
Donna, Ellie, and Ella exchanged nods before jumping down.
Leo and Lee exited out of the building. But neither of them is aware that someone was watching from a building rooftop halfway close to their location.
The yokai observed Leo and Lee in magnified scale coming from his eyes.
"Interesting." The yokai said. "Better report this."
The yokai opened a pale grey scallop that projected a holographic image of three mystics in throne chairs.
"Mistress, one of the mystic ninjas, Leona, have interacted with Rozu, but I'm undetermined to know the outcome." The yokai reported.
"Continue your mission." The young mystic ordered.
"Find out more about those mystic ninjas." The elderly mystic said.
"If they have proven themselves to be with Rozu, we'll have no choice but to destroy them." The adult mystic finished.
"Understood." The yokai creature said with a nod.
Meanwhile, Lee sprang across building rooftops before landing back to the same rooftop that she came from. She glanced down at the closed tessen in her hand and opened it wide. The weapon was made of heavy plates of black iron with razor-sharp edge and a decorative Shadow Clan tassel.
"I'll admit this tessen is beautiful." Lee commented. She then put on an affectionate smile on her face. "I don't know why I'm feeling this way, but whenever I'm near Leo, it's almost...appealing. I hope we cross paths again someday."
Then, Lee sighed in annoyance.
"I know you're here! Come on out!" Lee called out.
Ellie, Donna, and Ella jumped down out of hiding before stepping up to their oldest sister.
"How did you know it was us?" Ellie asked.
"My aura sense never fails." Lee responded as she crossed her arms over her chest. "But if you paid close attention to training than video games, you would've noticed."
"That doesn't matter because we've heard everything back there." Ella said. "And I don't care what you say. We're not joining them."
"Good for you, hothead." Lee said. "Because we're not."
Lee closed the tessen and tossed it over to Donna, who caught it in her hand.
"Huh?" Donna said in confusion.
"Wait a minute. So, we're not joining those creeps?" Ella asked in surprise.
"Duh. Of course not." Lee replied. "I knew there was something off about Rozu and Saki from the beginning. That's why I didn't buy a word they were saying. Like I said, my aura sense never fails."
"Okay. So that's outta the way. What are we gonna do now?" Ellie asked.
"Talk to mother." Lee answered.
Back in the Crete Fortress, the Lotus Ninjas sat with their legs crossed in front of Saldana. Their mother looked at the tessen her hand just as Lee explained about Rozu's proposal.
Saldana then sighed heavily.
"I had hoped this day would never come, but it's time to know who these people are, my daughters." Saldana explained. She lifted her hand forward and projected a symbol of the Shadow Clan. "This is the symbol belongs to an evil ninja clan called the Shadow Clan. Ravenna Rozu happens to be the leader of that clan, but she has another name. She is...Lady Shade. I have often told you of your beloved father Caesar, but now it is time that I tell all of you the whole truth."
[Flashback]
In their humble home, Caesar practiced his martial art skills inside a dojo.
"As you already know, your father was a stage magician of pure magic. The only human with the ability to manipulate true magic in existence."
Saldana delivered a swift punch, a swift kick, and a white energy blast at the training dummy. Caesar mimicked his wife's moves effortlessly.
"As his wife, I taught him ninjitsu that will allow them to combine his magic."
As Caesar and Saldana took a break, they walked up and looked down at their sleeping daughters.
"We were a very happy family."
Suddenly, Lady Shade blasted the roof open with her magic.
Caesar and Saldana began blasting their magic at Lady Shade, who protected herself with a black shield.
"Rozu was powerful, but Caesar was only able to distract her long enough for us to escape."
Caesar released a large thick dark grey smoke around Lady Shade, making her cough and sightless at the same time. Saldana created a bassinet and levitated her crying infant daughters. Caesar grabbed his wife's hand and led her out of their burning house.
After a few seconds, Lady Shade vaporized the smokescreen.
"You two will not escape my wrath!" Lady Shade ordered.
Lady Shade flew through the roof and hunted after the couple.
Caesar glanced back and saw Lady Shade following after them. His troubled face turned bold as he had no choice but to face the Shadow Clan leader and protect his family.
"Protect our daughters." Caesar said to his wife.
"Caesar, what are you...?" Saldana asked.
"I love you, Saldana." Caesar interrupted.
Caesar kissed his newborn daughters and teleported his family away somewhere safe by the ocean shore.
Once Saldana arrived at the shore, she knew that Caesar did what he did because he was not coming back. She settled the bassinet on the sand and conjured a crystal ball that showed her husband confronting Lady Shade with bravery.
"Your father chose to risk his life rather than surrender."
Caesar unleashed energy bolts at Lady Shade from his hands. Lady Shade backed away with a growl.
"You will never have my family, witch!" Caesar declared.
"I will wipe all threats that stands in my way, starting with you!" Lady Shade declared.
Lady Shade created a transparent black sphere with blue electricity-like energy in between her hands. She then shot a black beam of energy that hit straight towards Caesar in one fatal blow.
Saldana widened her eyes in flooding tears and covered her mouth in sorrow.
"Lady Shade had taken my husband from me, from us, and from the world."
Filled with grief, Saldana dematerialized the crystal ball and knelt by the shore in heavy tears.
[Flashback Ends]
"I know I should've told you the truth all those years ago, but I never want any of you to seek revenge. Hatred and sorrow along with revenge will only lead to more pain. But now you know. Rozu—Lady Shade—only serves for her own selfish gain. She is the true evil in this world." Saldana concluded.
"You three actually thought I was a fool to believe her." Lee scolded as she turned to her sisters.
"We're sorry, but we were just checking on you like we always do." Ellie said. "I mean, that's what sisters do."
"And we'll always got your back, sis." Donna added.
"So, what's the game plan?" Ella asked.
"If Lady Shade wants an answer, she's getting one...Lotus style." Lee said.
The Lotus Ninjas surrounded and warmly hugged Saldana, who hugged them back.
Later that night, the Lotus Ninja stood on the rooftops to await Lady Shade.
Then, a squad of Shadow Ninjas appeared in front of the mystic kunoichis.
Lee conjured a tessen in her hand before stepping up to the Shadow Ninjas.
"Tell your master the answer is no...and she can have this back." Lee said.
Lee threw the tessen away near the Shadow Ninjas.
The Shadow Ninjas pulled out katana swords and tessens in their hand.
The Lotus Ninjas summoned their magic to fight the Shadow Ninjas.
"Let's dance." Lee said with narrow eyes.
Then, more Shadow Ninjas came out of nowhere as the entire ninjas charged forward.
The Lotus Ninjas also charged forward.
Lee charged forward and launched a series of spinning kick that hit four Shadow Ninjas in rapid succession. The other Shadow Ninjas came charging and swinging their weapons at Lee, who dodged them and fired rapid blasts of compressed water at them from her hands.
Four Shadow Ninjas tried slashing Ella with their weapons. But Ella avoided the swings and extended her legs with fiery energy. She then spun herself up in the air and delivered multiple spin kicks in a tornado-like fashion that trapped and bounced the Shadow Ninjas around in the vortex before knocking all of them hard to the ground.
Six Shadow Ninjas sped around Ellie in a circle and attacked her all at once with their weapons. But Ellie backflipped away and landed away from them. She then generated several crescent-shaped blades of compressed solid wind that knocked them out.
Donna sprang up high in the air and bombarded the Shadow Ninjas with glowing explosive seeds. Only five Shadow Ninjas got hit while the other ninjas managed to dodge the attack. Then, Donna sprouted multiple vines from the ground and send them to restrain the remaining Shadow Ninjas that slammed them multiple times into the ground.
All Shadow Ninjas laid on the rooftop ground with defeating groans.
"Well, that was a good workout." Donna commented.
"Booyah!" Ellie shouted.
Donna, Ellie, Ella, and Lee high-fived each other.
Suddenly, the rooftop access door bursted wide open. Both Sierra and Mira stepped out through, making the mystic kunoichis cringe at the sight of them.
"Oh no, not them again." Donna said with a groan.
"We beat them once, we can neat them again." Lee declared.
"Oh yeah. Round two." Ella grinned as she cracked her neck and knuckles.
"That makes two of us." Sierra grinned back.
Sierra and Mira charged forward as the Lotus Ninja also charged as well.
Donna stomped her boot to the ground and summoned purple roses around Sierra that sprouted long thick vines to attack her. Sierra evaded the launching vines with flexible backflips from different directions before blasting an energy beam that hit Donna on the back to the ground. Ella gathered magical fire in her hands and released towards Sierra's direction in a form of a large, exploding fireball. But Sierra evaded and then propelled herself against Ella at high speed, hitting her with a powerful headbutt and sending her to crash hard to the ground.
Ellie charged her attention to Mira and released a powerful tornado of wind from her mouth. But Mira performed a full split on the ground and avoided the powerful tornado before standing up and creating several bolts of black energy that hit Ellie one by one. Lee summoned a stream of big bubbles from her hands that hit Mira multiple times at great force. Mira recovered and released a large, bullet-like stream of black energy towards Lee, who haven't blocked it in time and sent crashing to her sisters.
The Lotus Ninjas took deep breaths.
"We're totally getting our butts kicked." Donna said.
"I'll say." Ellie agreed.
"We've thrown everything we got at them and nothing." Ella said.
Then, Lee got an idea.
"Girls, new moves." Lee said. "Remember our training earlier?"
Donna, Ellie, and Ella nodded each other with grins.
Ellie charged forward first. She lifted her hands forward and manifested a miniature vortex of wind before creating needle-shaped spears in the air and sending them to strike Mira at once.
Next, Ella created multiple small fireballs that took the form of a large lotus flower and delivered a rapid barrage of fireballs straight at Sierra.
Then, Donna placed her hands down to the ground and summoned countless vines that instantly constructed a spherical cradle around Mira and Sierra. A lotus flower bud then appeared at the top and launched powerful blasts of earth magic at them from its opening bud.
Lastly, Lee formed a ball of water in front of both hands and then shot it into the air, creating a large storm cloud above Mira and Sierra. The storm cloud then released three pressurized streams of water that sent two Shadow Clan lieutenants crashing and falling through a skylight window.
Lee, Donna, Ella, and Ellie looked over to see Sierra and Mira lying down on the floor in the room.
"Finally. We won." Ellie said in relief.
"We definitely gonna sleep well tonight." Donna said.
Meanwhile, the yokai watched the Lotus Ninjas from the opposite rooftop. He looked down at the pale grey scallop in his hands.
"Mistress, it has been confirmed that the mystic ninjas are against Rozu." The yokai reported.
"Good." The young mystic said.
"They do possess magic that might succeed magic of our own." The elderly mystic said.
"Monitor them further and keep us informed." The adult mystic ordered.
The Lotus Ninjas high-fived each other with victorious smiles.
"Alright, girls. Let's head home." Lee said.
Before the mystic kunoichis could walk away, Lee suddenly gasped when she immediately detected a powerful dark aura around the rooftop.
"Uh no." Lee murmured. "It's...her."
"Lee, what's wrong?" Ella asked.
Then suddenly, more Shadow Ninjas came out of nowhere as they started blocking their path.
"Oh, come on!" Ellie exclaimed.
The Shadow Ninjas pulled out their katana swords, tessen, and bo staffs. But this time, they dispersed and cleared a path for their clan leader. Instead of her business suit, Rozu was wearing a full armored black qipao patterned with a silver dragon, dark grey leggings, and black high heeled boots.
Lee narrowed her eyes while Ellie, Donna, and Ella's eyes widened in shock.
"It is unwise to refuse my offer! Now, come and face the wrath of the Shadow!" Lady Shade declared.
