Summary: The Lotus Ninjas get separated while fighting Lady Shade, and only one of the four remain to fight the formidable foe.
The Lotus Ninjas stood intensely in the rain on a rooftop, facing Lady Shade and her Shadow Ninjas.
"The time for games has ended. No more charades." Rozu said. She removed her mask and revealed her grinning face at the mystic kunoichis. "You see me as I am and it will be the last thing you will ever see." She placed her mask back on. "Prepare to face your destiny and your doom."
As the thundering sky poured down heavy rain, Rozu's hands enveloped in blazing black energy.
"So, that's Lady Shade!" Donna exclaimed.
"Yeah, mom wasn't kidding about her being true evil." Ellie agreed.
"Who cares. If this woman wants a fight, she's getting a fight." Ella said.
"Look alive, girls." Lee said in a serious tone. "This is one fight we have to win."
"Shadow Ninjas, attack!" Lady Shade ordered. "And destroy them!"
The Shadow Ninjas obeyed and charged towards the Lotus Ninjas, who raced forward and engaged their enemies in battle.
Lee delivered a swift kick that knocked one Shadow Ninja away. Donna backflipped and knocked one Shadow Ninja with an earth energy blast. Ella evaded a Shadow Ninja's swinging katana sword and then punched him back with a fiery fist.
As Ellie faced three Shadow Ninjas, she paid no attention to Lady Shade leaping at her from behind. Lady Shade delivered a swift, brutal kick that sent Ellie flying across the rooftop almost close to the edge.
Lady Shade glanced to see Lee dueling with several Shadow Ninjas. She jumped and swiftly kicked Lee away, but Lee backflipped and landed safely on her feet.
Donna knocked two Shadow Ninjas with her plant vines from her hands just before Lady Shade leaped down next to her and grabbed the vines as she threw Donna away to the roof door. Before a Shadow Ninja could lunge his katana sword at Donna, Ella engulfed her legs in fiery energy and kicked him away from her sister.
"Okay, that's it. No more Miss Nice Gal." Donna said as she got up on her feet.
Donna placed her glowing hands on the ground, sculpting large rock fists to immobilize all Shadow Ninjas one by one.
"Nice, D." Ella smiled.
"Hey, Ella!" Ellie shouted. "You and Lee handle Lady Shade! Donna and I will take care of the rest of the ninjas!"
As Ellie and Donna handled the immobilizing Shadow Ninjas, Lady Shade faced off against the glaring Lee and Ella. Lady Shade charged forward as Lee and Ella sprang in the air to strike with their magic. But Lady Shade knocked them down with black energy blasts in mid-air.
In the Crete Fortress, Saldana opens the doors from the dojo, unaware of the whereabouts of his sons and Amy.
"My daughters, after my deep meditation regarding Lady Shade, I…" Saldana spoke.
Saldana looked around to notice that Lee, Ella, Donna, and Ellie are nowhere in the living room.
"Hmmm." Saldana said. She began levitating her way into Donna's lab. "That's odd. Normally, this place has never been this quiet."
Saldana entered into Donna's lab and spotted Phantom patting Ekron on the head while Ryoko laid on top of Phantom's head.
"Phantom. Ekron. Ryoko. Have any of you seen my daughters?" Saldana asked.
Only Phantom and Ryoko shrugged, indicating that they have no idea where the Lotus Ninjas are. But Ekron nodded and flew up to Saldana, whose eyes glowed and started reading the creature's memory to learn that Ekron spotted the Lotus Ninjas discussing a plan before sneaking off undetectably.
"They went off to face Lady Shade!" Saldana gasped in realization. "This is not good!"
Saldana turned her head to the Sonicruiser before looking back at Ekron, Phantom, and Ryoko.
"Let's go. We're going to find my daughters." Saldana said with a determined face.
Meanwhile, Ella and Lee continued attacking Lady Shade with their magic. Ella then fired a rapid barrage of large fireballs from both hands at Lady Shade, who dodged the fireballs effortlessly and knocked Ella down with a black energy blast. Lee sprang in the air and fired rapid blasts of solid water at Lady Shade, but Lady Shade dodged the water blasts and fired a large black energy beam that sent Lee flying to the edge.
Lady Shade lifted her hand and restrained Lee tightly in black energy chains.
"Now, it's time to end you!" Lady Shade said evilly.
Donna turned her head to witness Lady Shade looming over Lee. She could feel the emotions of pure disbelief and horror overwhelming her at the speed of light. Her eyes narrowed in pure anger.
"LEE!" Donna hollered as her eyes changed into blazing bluish-white.
Bursts of bluish-white light washed out from Donna's body, sweeping powerful energy rings across the rooftop and everything instantly started shaking on the rooftop.
"What?!" Lady Shade exclaimed.
The rooftop stated to crumble inward, causing the entire building to collapse. While Lady Shade teleported herself and her immobilizing Shadow Ninjas away, the Lotus Ninjas fell off the crumbling building in different directions. Lee landed hard onto the street with a groan. Donna slumped wearily backward and floated safely onto the street. Ella landed in an alleyway with a groan. And Ellie landed onto the street halfway close to Donna.
Donna sat up on her knees and rubbed her head with a groan. Her eyes returned to normal and the blazing bluish-white energy aura faded away.
Then, Ellie quickly got up on her feet and ran up to Donna.
"Donna, are you okay?" Ellie asked.
"I'm alright." Donna replied. "Let's just get out of there."
Suddenly, Lady Shade reappeared from the building rooftop with her recovered Shadow Ninjas that caught Donna and Ellie's attention.
"Oh snap." Ellie whispered in disbelief. "Donna, now it'll be a good time to get us out of here."
"Ditto." Donna concurred.
Donna summoned a large purple flower from the ground underneath herself and her younger sister. The giant flower then sucked the mystics into the hole at the center and sank itself down to the ground as an escape route.
The Shadow Ninja lined up and dropped one knee behind Lady Shade.
"Find the turtles and their pink little friend. They cannot be far. Do not allow them to escape." Lady Shade ordered. "Report to me when you find them. I want to finish them myself."
Lady Shade teleported away, leaving the Shadow Ninjas to scatter away.
Lee got up just in time to notice six Shadow Ninjas are heading in her direction.
"Uh no." Lee said to herself. "I gotta find my sisters and regroup."
But before Lee could move, she got snatched away across the street and soared up onto a building rooftop just before the Shadow Ninjas arrived and examined the area.
Lee let out a wide smile when she looked at the rescuer that revealed to be a large-sized Ryoko.
"Ryoko." Lee said. She ran up and hugged Ryoko, who licked her cheek affectionately. "Thank you. You came just in time. Help me find my sisters."
Ryoko nodded her head as Lee hopped on the dragon's back.
"But first." Lee said. "Mienai."
A brilliant blue light emitted Lee and Ryoko that made them completely invisible.
Ryoko then soared away in the sky.
In the alleyway, Ella woke up from the fall. She quickly spotted three Shadow Ninjas from the rooftop. She quickly hid behind the dumpster just as the Shadow Ninja jumped down and searched around the alley.
Just after the Shadow Ninjas ran off, Ella peeked out.
"That was close." Ella muttered.
Ella then noticed a looming shadow from above. She looked up to see Ekron hovering down to her.
"Ekron." Ella smiled in surprise. "I'm so glad to see you. We need to find my sisters."
Ekron nodded its head and grabbed Ella by the arms with its energized tentacles.
"Mienai." Ella casted.
A brilliant red light emitted Ella and Ekron, making them completely invisible.
Ekron then soared away in the sky.
Elsewhere, the giant flower rose out of the ground in the alleyway and bloomed Donna and Ellie out of it.
"Donna, we need to go back. We have to find our sisters." Ellie said with a worried face.
"I know, Ellie. But we gonna keep those Shadow Ninjas off our trail." Donna said. "And besides, Lee and Ella can take care of herself."
Suddenly, something light landed behind Donna and Ellie. But Donna and Ellie could already detect that. They quickly engulfed their hands with blazing magic and turned around with bold face, but they immediately discarded their magic when the person revealed to be Phantom.
"Phantom." Ellie smiled happily.
"Thank goodness." Donna said as she hugged her robot.
Then, Donna and Ellie turned to see Lady Shade and her Shadow Ninjas in the distance.
"Uh no! It's Lady Shade and her ninja squad!" Ellie exclaimed.
"Phantom, you got to get us out of here as quick as you can." Donna said to Phantom.
Phantom nodded her head in response.
"Mienai." Donna casted.
A brilliant purple light emitted Donna, Ellie and Phantom, turning them completely invisible.
Phantom grabbed Donna and Ellie before launching away in the sky.
Ekron soared through the sky and dove down towards the Sonicruiser. He placed Ella down on her feet just as Ella looked at a familiar person with a surprised look on her face.
"Mom!" Ella exclaimed.
Saldana shushed Ella.
"Mom, I know you're upset about going against Lady Shade. But we got separated and now I don't know where they are." Ella explained.
"No need to worry about that." Saldana said.
Saldana, Ella, and Ekron looked up to see Phantom suddenly landing in front of them. Phantom gently placed Donna and Ellie down. Ekron became excited and flew over to nuzzle against Ellie's cheek.
"Oh, it's good to see you too, Ekron." Ellie grinned.
"Am I glad to see you guys!" Donna sighed in relief.
"We need to move quickly." Saldana said. "Ryoko is still out there finding Leona, so we need to find them before the Shadow Ninjas do."
"Uh, about that…" Ella said, pointing her finger forward.
Saldana, Ellie, Ekron, Donna, and Phantom turned around to see a large squad of Shadow Ninjas speeding towards them.
"Phantom, attack the Shadow Ninjas." Donna ordered Phantom.
"Ekron, help Phantom with everything you got." Ellie instructed Ekron.
Phantom and Ekron nodded before charged forward.
"Everyone, get inside Sonicruiser." Donna said to her mother and her sisters.
Donna, Ella, Ellie, and Saldana sped inside Sonicruiser.
Phantom fired purple energy balls out of her fingers that hit some of the Shadow Ninjas all at once. She then fired multiple energy blasts at the sky and eventually landed down to strike the Shadow Ninjas one by one. Ekron then barraged the Shadow Ninjas with bolts of yellow energy. He finished off the rest of the Shadow Ninjas when he wrapped them all in a whirlwind of an overpowering intense energy.
Then, Phantom and Ekron stood in a circle of unconscious Shadow Ninjas.
"Great job, you two! You definitely kick butt!" Ella commented with a smile.
Phantom and Ekron hopped into the Sonicruiser. Donna activated the vehicle and started driving away.
Meanwhile, Ryoko kept soaring in the sky. But it didn't take long for the Shadow Ninja to notice them through the moonlight. Three Shadow Ninjas unleashed a hail of rapid shurikens that hit Ryoko easily, sending her and Lee to crash into a dead-end alley.
Lee hopped off just as Ryoko reduced back to her normal size.
"Ryoko, are you okay?" Lee asked in worry.
Ryoko responded with a weak groan.
"Hang in there. I'll get you somewhere safe." Lee said.
A group of Shadow Ninjas came towards Lee, who picked up Ryoko in her left arm and activated her water magic from her right hand. Before either of them could attack, a yokai dove down between them. The Shadow Ninjas gasped as the yokai enveloped his hands with glowing indigo magic circles. Only Lee stood wide-eyed in a mix of shock and surprise.
The yokai sped forward with a smile. He swung his magic circles around and took down all of the Foot ninjas single-handedly in a boomerang style. That left Lee look utterly shocked. The yokai deactivated his magic circles and walked up to Lee, who backed away and stood in a defense posture.
"Okay, this is surprising." Lee commented. She placed her hands on her hips as Ryoko landed around her owner's neck like a snake. "I can already tell you're one of those Shadow Ninjas. So who are you?"
"Let's just say I'm simply…a friend." The yokai answered. "That's all you need to know."
"Yeah, that's real helpful." Lee said dryly.
"I am sorry, but I cannot reveal everything I know to you right now. I'm here to inform that you and your allies are caught up in a battle that is bigger than you can imagine." The yokai said.
"I've heard all of that from Ravenna Rozu." Lee pointed out. "Only her version isn't all convincing."
"Indeed." The yokai said. He stepped a bit closer to Lee. "Lady Shade made have told you the truth, but you have guts when you rejected her and her evil." He held out his hand. "Think of me as an ally you made today."
Lee looked at the yokai's hand in confusion. She looked up at the yokai and sensed a respectable aura coming from him, making her smile in relief. She deactivated her water magic and shook the yokai's hand.
Then suddenly, the sound of screeching tires caught Lee, Ryoko, and the yokai's attention. They turned their heads to see the Sonicruiser turning into the alley. Lee and the yokai covered their eyes as they are highlighted in the Sonicruiser's headlights.
Donna rolled down the window and stuck her head out.
"Sup, Lee, need a ride?" Donna asked.
"Sure." Lee said. "Besides, I'd like you guys to meet…" She looked in shock when the yokai had vanished. "The mystery yokai."
At the beach's parking lot, the Lotus Ninjas gathered behind the Sonicruiser. Phantom and Ekron sat inside the vehicle as the robot began enveloping Ryoko with a glow of healing energy.
"Don't worry, Lee." Donna said. "Ryoko's in perfect health."
"Thank goodness." Lee said with a relived smile.
"My daughters, not only you are safe from the Shadow Clan, but..." Saldana said.
Saldana reached her hand out and released a powerful bolt of white electricity at her daughters.
"Ow!" Ellie, Lee, and Donna murmured in pain.
"Hey, what was that for?" Ella asked in pain.
"For being so foolish, that's why! You should never have tried to face Lady Shade by yourselves! She has already proven to be too powerful." Saldana explained. "And now, she will not rest until she finds us."
"Oh, trust us. We know." Donna said.
"But what should we do, mother?" Lee asked.
After thinking for a moment, Saldana formed an idea.
"Let her find us." Saldana replied. She narrowed her eyes in determination. "For so long, I've wished to avenge my beloved Caesar and now's the time."
"And how do we do that?" Ella asked.
"Draw her attention." Saldana answered.
"Oh, leave that to me." Ellie smiled as she cracked her fingers all at once.
Later on, Lady Shade and her Shadow Ninjas spotted a series of small tornadoes moving around the Sonicruiser, which was now parked on the street. They examined around the vehicle once the tornadoes disappeared. But it didn't take Lady Shade long enough to figure out that it was a setup.
Lady Shade pointed her finger up to the building rooftop that the Sonicruiser was parked next to. Up on the rooftop, the Lotus Ninjas stood in front of the water tower as they waited for the Shadow Clan's arrival. Behind the water tower, Saldana knelt with her eyes closed until she opened her eyes when the Shadow Ninjas and Lady Shade arrived in front of them.
"Told ya I caught their attention." Ellie grinned.
"Now, let's get the butt-kicking started." Ella said.
The Lotus Ninjas drew their magic as they glared at Lady Shade, who glared back at them.
"Shadow Ninja, attack!" Lady Shade ordered.
The Shadow Ninjas and the Lotus Ninjas charged forward in the center of the rooftop.
Ella unleashed large fireballs at three Shadow Ninjas from both hands before kicking two Shadow Ninjas away. Lee released a stream of big bubbles from both hands that attacked six Shadow Ninjas at great force. Ellie rapidly spun herself around as a tornado and attacked several Shadow Ninjas one by one.
Suddenly, Lady Shade jumped down behind Ellie. As Ellie turned around, Lady Shade kicked her that sent the orange mystic kunoichi flying back against the water tower support beams.
Donna knocked each Shadow Ninja coming her way with her green vines. She paid no attention to Lady Shade, who jumped down behind her. But before Lady Shade can strike, Ella stepped in and blasted her away with a fireball.
Lady Shade performed a handspring and landed near her Shadow Ninjas.
"Get them!" Lady Shade ordered in annoyance.
Three Shadow Ninjas threw a handful of shuriken at Lee, who dodged them all and attacked the Shadow Ninjas with a large beam of water magic.
Donna jumped in the air and fought a trio of Shadow Ninjas with her vines. Lady Shade stood in front of Donna and attacked her with blazing energized kicks several times before punching her with her energized fist. Donna flew backwards from the strike and slammed into the wall.
As Lee blasted five Shadow Ninjas with her water magic, Lady Shade came up behind her and raised her energized fist to catch the blue mystic kunoichi off-guard, but Ella managed to shield herself and her older sister with a fiery shield.
"Don't you even think about it!" Ella shouted.
Ella struggled against Lady Shade, who delivered a flurry of rapid punches at her shield. Once the fiery shield vaporized from the final punch, Lady Shade grabbed Ella by the neck and threw her against the wall next to Donna, who tried to recover herself.
Ellie found herself surrounded by Shadow Ninjas and managed to take them down with her air magic, but Lady Shade appeared and attacked her that sent Ellie crashing into the wall next to Ella.
Lee continued fighting against Shadow Ninjas with her water magic until she suddenly found herself face-to-face with Lady Shade. Lady Shade punched her, sending Lee sliding into the wall.
Donna, Ella, and Ellie moved over to Lee with concern. Lady Shade stalked towards all four mystic kunoichis, who looked up at her in horror.
"I will make sure neither of you make it out of here alive!" Lady Shade said as she lifted her energized hand that shaped into razor-sharp claws.
"Don't you dare touch my daughter, Lady Shade!"
Saldana flipped down from the water tower and stood in front of her daughters.
"You may have destroyed my husband. I will not let you that again with my girls!" Saldana cried.
"I would love to see you try, witch!" Lady Shade declared in anger.
Saldana and Lady Shade exchanged punches, kicks, and energy-based attacks at each other, but they both struggled to strike unpredictably against each other.
Saldana jabbed Lady Shade's chest and then sprang over her to land in front of the water tower support beams before signaling the Shadow Clan leader to bring it on. Lady Shade growled in fury and charged forward at Saldana. Lady Shade blasted a black energy beam toward Saldana's direction, but the Lotus Clan mystic dodged and blocked with a white lotus-shaped shield while backing away when Lady Shade delivered several energy blasts in rapid speed. Saldana evaded as each energy blast destroyed every support beam after deflecting off of her shield. Just as Lady Shade's energy blast destroyed another support beam, Saldana formed a cocky smirk and teleported away. Lady Shade stood in confusion as Saldana reappeared with her daughter, but she quickly noticed the water tower began creaking and swaying dangerously.
"This is for my Caesar!" Saldana declared.
Saldana fired a white energy bolt at the last support beam, causing the water to fall onto the gasping Lady Shade. Saldana lifted her hands in front of her and unleashed white energy blasts toward Lady Shade and the rest of the Shadow Ninjas. Once the energy blasts made contact with them, Lady Shade and her Shadow Ninjas ended up being engulfed by large globes of energy, which then erupted with them inside of it. The Shadow Ninjas landed on the fire escape while Lady Shade landed in the alleyway. But it was too late for her to react when the water tower itself came falling down at her from the rooftop.
The Lotus Ninjas looked down from the edge before blinking at their mother in surprise.
"That was amazing!" The Lotus Ninjas exclaimed happily as they hugged their mother tightly.
"We have finally avenged your father. Now, let us return home." Saldana said with a warm smile.
"I agree." Donna said.
"Me too." Lee concurred.
Saldana, Lee, Ellie, Donna, and Ella teleported away.
In the alleyway, Lady Shade's arm suddenly punched through the debris, which signaled her defeat is far from over.
