Hehehehe
Androids
More notes at the end
thewittywhy: Well I got good news for you this chapter!
Qinlongfei: Honestly, fair. I just got the name from the manga's version of the attack
Yay. Baseless searching again. The mountain range wasn't exactly limited in its hiding places.
Now objectively, I could just like, do nothing. Gero waking 17 and 18 is what I want after all, but we also kinda have to be there when it happens. First contact and whatnot.
So, Searching.
Of course, if I am the one who finds him I'm gonna have to wait until he gets to his lab before I do anything. I doubt I'd be that lucky though.
Sure enough, I was not.
It didn't matter much, however, since, by the time we all sensed Krillin's ki spike, the universe signal at this point, Gero was already sealed away in his lab, which was shockingly sturdy. I honestly have no idea how he made the door so strong since neither Piccolo nor Tien could just break it down. At least not easily.
Eventually, Vegeta showed up, and by extension Trunks then Clover, and Piccolo just decided to throw caution to the wind as he just decided to blast the door down.
Just in time for 17 to destroy Gero's remote.
There was silence for a moment as everyone evaluated the new situation.
Well, Clover was right about them being pretty I guess.
But even more, they looked like kids. Like, they had to have been around Pigero's age at most. Which, I acknowledge that Pigero is technically an adult but like, a baby adult. Barely counts.
Vegeta of course passed judgment on their appearance alone and decided they weren't a threat.
"Oh are these the scary Androids you've been so worried about? How disappointing."
"That's them," Trunk's voice was so beyond worry and done that it almost sounded dry.
"Well, I guess we'll be able to say I told you so before dying," Clover tried to joke, but also sounded dry with the tension.
"That's the Androids? They look, like ordinary people to me…" Krillin commented.
"Don't be fooled by how they look!" Trunks declared, "they're deadly! And they're stronger than all of us!"
The two's eyes followed whoever was talking, though 17's were more obviously so since he was closer. They seemed to be waiting for someone else to move first.
And that person was Gero.
"Goku's friends are determined to stop us, but they will not. You will destroy them just as they destroyed Android 19."
"Android 19? You built another after us?" 17 turned away from us completely as he spoke to Gero, entirely unconcerned.
"Yes. I did."
"I see, tell me, Doctor, did he have the same design as Eighteen and I? Or did you decide to try something different?"
"Yes. 19 was an energy absorbent model," Gero's eyes barely flickered away from us as he spoke to them.
"How interesting, and did you choose the same model for yourself?" 18 looked around at Gero's still intact hand, "did you think that would be easier to control? How unfortunate. Now he's been destroyed and you come back to us."
Gero all but growled, finally turning away to look at them, "That is enough questions for now! I order you to deal with these intruders!"
"Be quiet old man, we'll deal with them when we feel like it," 17 rolled his eyes as 18 wandered off to look around the rest of the lab, trampling over the remains of their remote.
"And who's this? Why haven't you woken this one up? If you're so concerned about us, wouldn't he have been an option?" She commented as she leaned over another pod, for lack of a better word, labeled with a very distinctive 16.
"You stay away from there! I order you! Do not awaken Android 16!"
"Oh? You order me?" 18 grinned.
"Guess we're waking him then," 17 walked up beside, his sister? Yeah, they were siblings I'm pretty sure. Twins I think.
"I have not completed his programming yet! If you wake him now, you may cause irreparable damage!"
"You say that as if the rest of your Androids are always perfectly programmed. 'Howdy folks. I'm Android 13, look at my Trucker Hat!'" 17 mocked.
"That- admittedly a few more testing phases should have gone through but fundamentally it was a sound experiment and- wait no- the bottom line is do not open that containment!"
"Yeah, that sounds like a you problem," 18 leaned over to look for a button, only for Gero to grab her arm.
18 glanced back with contempt.
In a single movement, Gero was elbowed and lay flat on his back.
"Listen," Gero climbed back to his feet, "I made you, and I'm telling you that if you wake up Android 16 you will regret it!"
"We'll regret it will we? You sound pretty defensive there, old man," 17 said, completely unconcerned.
"You will do as I say or I will make you!"
"Your remote's been destroyed."
"Then I will make another!"
18 pushed a button on the pod.
Gero turned his back on 17 to yell at her instead.
"For the last time! Do not relea-" Gero interrupted with an ever so slight hand through his chest.
"How- dare you-"
"You make a good point, Doctor," 17 pulled his hand back, "you could just make another remote. Well, can't have that, now can we?"
"I gave you life! And I can take it awa-" once again Gero was interrupted, this time by 17 kicking his head clean off.
There was no blood, somehow in turning himself into an Android, all that was severed were wires. In fact, his brain might be the only thing that was still Gero in Android 20. Maybe his face too if he cared enough.
Regardless, his head rolled around on the ground, landing right at the door, a few feet in front of Krillin. still functional, though, probably not for long. I have no idea how the wires crossed, but I'm sure the head by itself couldn't hold power for long.
Not that that mattered, since interrupting yet more enraged words from Gero, 17 leaped forward to crush the rest of his head under his shoe-
Were his jeans tucked into his socks?
Ok, I realize my look of disgust should have been about the scattered brain matter, but, that, the socks, that's just inexcusable.
That, that is the worst thing 17 has done. Unquestionably.
Like, the lime green socks on their own? Fine. Good. Colorful socks are objectively better than plain ones. Like green wouldn't be my first choice but, far from my last either.
But tucking his jeans underneath them? Why? No? Illegal?
I tore my eyes up from the affront to nature that were those socks and, ok I'm pretty sure everyone else was, in fact, more disturbed by the head crushing. Even Vegeta looked a bit put off by it.
Which, hypocrite at best.
If anything, Vegeta's kills were worse, because one, they were mostly innocents, and two, they had blood. The only liquid spilled here was whatever that slightly blue-tinted liquid was that was keeping Gero's brain in stasis.
That being said, it was definitely a good thing Ocari already left.
17 smirked as he glanced up at us, and tilted his head towards me, "did you really bring a kid? To a fight? Why? That seems kinda- like, it's not just me right?" He stood back upright and looked back at 18.
"Huh? Yeah, weird, whatever. Wasn't Goku 12 when he destroyed the Red Ribbon Army? That one can't be that much younger."
"Still. Weird," Seventeen walked back into the room, towards 18, and the pod labeled 16, "you waking this guy or not?"
Huh, without Gero around, they kinda, yeah no they literally just feel like normal teenagers or young adults or however old they were now. You know, just slightly more murdery.
Trunks obviously did not feel the same as me however since out of nowhere his power spiked and his hair burned gold as he suddenly shot a beam at the lab, and by extension, the Androids.
Unfortunately, we were still at the lab's entrance.
So uh, needless to say, top priority was to get out of there.
"How about a little more warning the next time you do that?" Krillin called as the dust settled.
Ok, probably should have been keeping an eye on Trunks. Should have figured he'd be a bit of a loose cannon here.
Of course, as the dust settled and Trunks and Vegeta bickered, the silhouettes of the two Androids, plus the pod, appeared standing in the rubble. Completely unaffected.
"Oh great. Now there are your precious Androids to deal with, and you've destroyed whatever information could have been in that lab," Raditz complained.
Regardless, with everyone else out of the way, 18 had no problem opening the pod. Slowly, a third figure joined the pair, this one much taller and bulkier than the other two. They were probably talking, but well, we were obviously too far to hear.
Without looking back, they floated up and flew away.
"They're leaving? That's- we're safe then, right?" Krillin asked.
"Should, we follow them?" Tien followed with.
"They're not going towards any major city in that direction. They're going towards Goku's house," Piccolo stated.
"Of course! Dr. Gero created them to kill Goku, right? Out of revenge? That must be what they're trying to do!" Krillin exclaimed.
"Do you really think they'd follow Gero's orders now? I mean, I'd think he'd program in "don't kill him" before anything else," Tien pointed out.
"I DON'T CARE WHERE THEY WENT OR WHAT THEY ARE DOING! HOW DARE THEY IGNORE ME!" Vegeta roared, and wow, with so many people it was hard to keep track of how people were dealing. How did I possibly miss Vegeta's growing rage?
"I wish we could ignore you," Tien muttered.
Vegeta's hair sparked gold and Trunks intercepted him before he could zoom off.
"Wait, please! Don't go after them! You can't beat them!"
"You expect me to wait for Kakarot, is that right?"
"Kaka- right Goku. Yes! The only chance we have is with him! With everyone!"
Through the rising tension, and knowing just how Vegeta is, I could see how this was going to play out. I floated up to intercept.
Vegeta's annoyance quickly shifted to me instead.
"Ok, this obviously isn't solving anything, why don't we just-" next thing I knew I was falling from the air with a sharp pain in my face.
I caught myself just as Trunks was by my side, both concerned and shocked by his father's actions. Though honestly, I wasn't sure if he punched me, or just backhanded me. Either way, my nose bleeding.
"Are- are you ok? I can't believe he just-"
"It's fine. That's probably on the lower end on times he's hit me."
"That's, not- that worse. You do realize that's worse, right?"
Ok, my nose bleed was not stopping, "I think, I'll take one of those Senzu Beans."
"Uh, yeah right!" Krillin reached into the bag and tossed me a bean.
I refrained from grabbing one earlier because it felt like a waste to eat one just for some drained energy, but now felt a bit more justified. Also, I'm pretty sure my nose was broken actually.
Come to think of it, I probably could have just grabbed one from the three I still had in my backpack, but I doubt it'd make a difference in the long run. A bean's a bean.
I wiped away the remaining blood as the pain faded from my face, and the remaining tingling from my arm vanished with it.
"Are you sure you're ok? I mean, I know those beans heal and stuff, but that was a nasty hit! And what if your nose was broken? Would it have corrected the bone? What if-" Clover fussed over me as she examined my face.
"Uh, yeah I'm fine. Haven't found something a Senzu wouldn't heal yet, except the heart virus I guess," I pushed away. It felt weird having someone fuss over me. Especially someone who I still had no idea who she was. I mean, she seemed nice and all, but that was gonna bug me until I got a proper answer.
"You seem awfully concerned about someone you just met," Tien felt the need to point out.
"Of course I am! I mean-" she glanced back at me, "-Gohan's just a kid, right? Of course, I'd be concerned if, he, was hurt."
"So, we following him?" I sighed. It's not like it'd be difficult to find Vegeta despite the distance he's created. His energy burned so bright and irritable I was sure even Raditz could still follow it if I took away his scouter.
A half conflicted look crossed Trunks's face for a second before he shook it away, "we have to! We can't just let him fight alone!"
"At the very least we probably shouldn't just leave him to whatever crater he finds himself in," I responded.
It wasn't hard to find them, stopped by a mountain road. 18 had stepped up to fight Vegeta alone, and had already started the bout before we arrived.
Seventeen noticed our arrival, "hey, this fight is between Eighteen and anger management issues over here. I'm good to stand on the side as long as none of you jump in. If you do then it's against me."
Wow. Way to imply that you're the stronger one without actually saying it.
Well, it's not like I was gonna interrupt the fight either way, in fact-
"BREAK BOTH OF HIS ARMS!" I called over the fight.
"Are, are you rooting for the Android?" Trunks asked in disbelief.
"If not for the power of magical healing bean, I'd have a broken nose right now."
"I…can't argue with that. But, still-" Trunks didn't seem to have an actual protest.
I was slightly disappointed when 18 zoomed over the mountain and out of view. Technically I could still track Vegeta's energy, but that wasn't the same.
I glanced over to see everyone else doing exactly that, looking in the direction that I could sense Vegeta's energy from. I glanced down to see Seventeen looking bored, staring down the road. Ah, that's right, he wanted a car or something, didn't he? And 16 staring off into the trees, as some birds had settled there now that the fight was away.
Hmmm.
I glanced over to make sure everyone else in the group was too focused on the fight before inching my way over the cliff, hoping down rather than any flight so they wouldn't sense any Ki use.
"Hey, Sixteen, right?"
Said Android glanced down at me. Seeming to evaluate me before responding, a red light blinking behind his blue eyes. There was a slight uncanny valley when looking at him that didn't exist when looking at Seventeen and 18, but not so much that it couldn't just be ignored.
"Yes. I am designated Android 16."
"Right, whatcha doing?"
"I am watching the birds. They look nice."
"Right right…" it was a bit awkward, Sixteen didn't leave much open to converse over, but he obviously didn't care about any awkwardness as he was content bird watching.
At least there wasn't much empty air to fill since Vegeta and 18 soon turned back up to the road, a bit more scuffed than before. I backed away, slowly climbing my way back up the cliff as if I'd been there the whole time.
There was a certain satisfaction in watching Vegeta get beaten into the dirt after being oh so arrogant.
Unfortunately, it did come with a slight casualty of a truck driver when Vegeta tried to blast 18. Which, in reality probably means there were plenty more from when they were fighting elsewhere.
There was a turn in the fight, where 18 obviously stopped going easy on Vegeta and a single knee to the stomach would have had him collapse if it weren't for 18 holding him up.
She then promptly kicked him into the cliff.
Trunks started, only held back by Piccolo's hand on his shoulder.
Vegeta got about two good hits in before 18 got back up, the only casualty being her jacked and leggings.
"He's not going to win," Piccolo stated, gathering everyone else's attention.
"Vegeta's burning through too much energy, meanwhile she remains at top strength. He might have had a chance if she used energy normally, but as it is, there's no way."
Sure enough, Vegeta started to struggle to stand back up after getting hit. He immediately rushed forward once he did only to get kicked back down and rinse and repeat.
18 evidently got tired of this pattern as after dodging one of Vegeta's attacks she instead turned around and kicked Vegeta's arm, bending it in a way arms were definitely not supposed to bend.
The arm fell limp, and Vegeta wobbled back a few steps only to collapse to his knees, his roar of pain being heard despite the distance.
That was Trunks's breaking point as he immediately rushed forward to help. Hair sparking blond as he went.
He drew his sword, swinging it down towards 18, only for it to shatter when it hit her arm raised in defense.
Following through on his earlier threat, Seventeen moved in to strike Trunks down. Actually, I'm not even sure that could be a threat since really he was defending his sister. I mean, Vegeta did pick the first fight, after all.
"Oh darn it," Clover muttered as she too rushed forward, hair lighting up as she went, turning just as blond as the two Sayains already down there.
Blond.
Not brown.
Like her hair was before.
Ok, so, she was definitely a Sayain then. She'd kinda have to be to go Super Sayain.
So, was she supposed to be Raditz's kid then? Maybe Trunks just assumed that wouldn't change? Brown hair kinda eliminated either Goku or Vegeta from the gene pool, unless Vegeta got with someone not named Bulma, but well, Trunks was right there to disprove that.
Whatever. That's to question later.
Despite her also Super Sayain status, Trunks and Clover joining the fight didn't do much to even it out and the rest were left with little choice but to jump in.
Well with three exceptions of course. Obviously me, I had no interest in joining this pointless fight. Krillin looked too scared to join, which, fair enough. Plus he was holding the Senzu Beans. Gotta keep those safe.
And, Raditz. Instead of joining the fight, Raditz backed away further from the cliff, looking scared out of his wits.
"What- if Vegeta can't even- what am I supposed to- how is anyone else supposed to do anything against them?" He seemed to be trying to convince himself more than anything.
The remaining fight didn't exactly last long. When it was just 18 and Vegeta l8 was treating it like a game, but now that the rest of the group joined in, as well as Seventeen, the added chaos must have taken the fun out of it. Or at least irritated them. Soon enough the group was out, injured into unconsciousness and any Super Sayains were reduced to their normal hair color. Not before 18 made the point of stepping on his other arm of course.
Chiaotzu ran up to stand in front of Tien as if to protect him.
Seventeen raised an eyebrow before shrugging and turning away, leaving Chiaotzu confused but unharmed.
The two of them returned to the now rather damaged road, walking past us almost casually.
"Hey good for you, not joining that pointless fight. I suggest you give them some of those "Senzu Beans" soon. They might turn out ok," Seventeen waved as he walked away, "we only care about killing Goku after all. Not any of you."
"And Why don't we just ask them where Goku is. I mean, the kid's Goku's fight? Pretty sure at least he'd know," 18 asked.
"Come on Eighteen, that'd be no fun. Gotta enjoy the journey to get there."
"Ah, hold on a second," I spoke up, the two turning back, "I gotta ask, it's only going to bother me forever if I don't."
"Well?"
"What's the thought process here?" I pointed my hand down to indicate at Seventeen's socks, "why are your jeans tucked into your socks. It can't be comfortable. I can't imagine it's practical. And it certainly doesn't look cool, at all, so, why?"
Taken aback Seventeen just kinda glanced down at his socks for a second.
Eighteen also looked down and laughed, "ha! Yeah those are pretty stupid looking, aren't they? Well? Go on Seventeen. Answer the kid."
Seventeen turned to glare at his sister before just turning around and walking off, "let's just go," he muttered, steps quicker than before.
"Well, bye," Eighteen turned to go along, walking back to Sixteen.
"You two were too loud. You scared the birds away," Sixteen mentioned.
"Birds?" Eighteen asked.
"Yeah, he likes birds now," Seventeen confirmed.
"Well, regardless, I don't think there are going to be any cars coming down here any time soon, so can we just find one somewhere else?"
"Fine. You did destroy the road a bit."
"There is a highway on the other side of the mountain."
"Well yeah, but that'd be too easy. And do you really want that much attention over it? No, we have to find one on a less populated street."
"Fine, whatever, but I do need to change these clothes."
"Fair enough. You ready to begin our search Sixteen?"
"Yes," the tallest Android smiled.
Krillin gathered his courage as he ran up to them, "wait!"
Again, the three stopped. Seventeen looking back as if to make sure that I was not also there.
"And, what do you want now?" He asked.
"Wait, you can't go after Goku now! He's sick! And, he hasn't done anything to you, so why go after him?"
"Sixteen's been programmed to kill Goku. So that's what we're going to do."
"But, why? He was programmed by Dr. Gero, right? Well, you're the one who killed him! Why would you still be following his orders?"
"Oh yeah, I realize that. But it's a game, friend, the name of the game is kill Goku. And if it makes Sixteen happy, well, all the better now isn't it?"
"This is all a game to you?"
"That's right."
"Then how fun could it be to kill someone who's already half dead?" I asked, stepping back up to be close enough to be part of the conversation.
Seventeen frowned, "well the first part of the game is to find him. What comes after that may depend on the exact circumstances, I suppose."
"Might depend- please! Don't go after Goku! It won't accomplish anything, and if you don't have a good reason to- why?"
"Games aren't meant to accomplish anything. They're meant to be played."
"Please! I beg of you, don't!"
A moment of silence, then, "no. I am programmed to kill Goku." Sixteen said.
"Well, there you go. Though you do seem awfully determined to convince someone you seem to have treated as an enemy."
"Well, I don't know about them, but, I didn't like Gero, and fighting our friends was technically self-defense, kinda, so excluding the whole, wanting to kill my dad thing, which Vegeta also wants to do, you're kinda at a net neutral to me," I shrugged.
Seventeen paused, doing the math, "wait so, if killing Gero is a positive, and beating up your friends is neutral, and you're not counting wanting to kill your dad, how are we at a net neutral and not positive overall?"
"Huh? Oh, the socks. Sorry, I thought that was obvious."
Eighteen laughed as Seventeen placed his hands on his hips nodding, "alright! We should leave before I reevaluate my opinion on beating up children."
He turned and didn't look back to see if the other two were following.
Eighteen took a spare moment to walk over to Krillin, lean over and kiss his cheek before following, "good luck."
I ducked my chin under my cloak to try to his my smile. It was nice to see a part of Canon that wasn't absolutely terrifying recreate itself. Well, Krillin looked pretty scared in the moment, but now it was mixed with confusion.
Also, K18. Best ship. 10/10.
"Do you actually have a death wish?" Raditz got closer to ask as soon as the Androids were far, far out of earshot, "are you- why the hell are you smiling?"
"Hm? Oh, no reason."
Krillin shook himself from his stupor, "s- Senzu Bean! The others, we should, give them Senzu beans."
"Right…still can't believe those are an actual thing," Raditz muttered.
"What took you so long? Do you have the Senzu Beans?" Chiaotzu asked.
"Yeah, sorry, here," Krillin held up the bag and we each took a few to disburse among the wounded, so they could get up and nurse their wounded pride.
I frowned looking at the unconscious Vegeta.
"Yes Gohan, we have to give one to Vegeta," Krillin said before I could even ask. I tsked in annoyance.
Once everyone was up and awake, we explained what had happened when they were beaten. And the confusion that followed was understandable. Confusion over how they had underestimated the Androids so much, but also as to why they let them live.
Surprisingly enough, Vegeta was not the first one to fly off in a fit of rage, but Piccolo. In a most drama pants fashion at that.
Any concerns were waved off by Krillin pointing out the direction he was heading. The lookout.
"Yeah, you also could have figured out there was nothing to worry about by the brat not being concerned," Raditz point out and pointed at me. Which, fair. The only thing that surprised me really was that Vegeta was still here.
"I don't get it, those Androids they- Shaylan?"
I felt a chill run down my spine at the name. Slowly I turned to see a new figure behind us that had distracted Trunks.
There stood a woman in casual clothes, an open jacket of a patterned t-shirt, and simple tights.
She had dark shoulder-length hair and eyes, far different from long brown hair, and an eye color that could never quite be pinned down, the closest being hazel.
She had a quite visible scar running down her cheek and at least one more peaking out from under the T-shirt.
So why then, did it feel like I was looking at a ghost?
"Shay!" I actively flinched when Clover called over, "where have you been? We caught the Androids and we lost and-"
"I know, I'm sorry." She waved off Clover's protests, briefly glancing up to where Piccolo disappeared, frowning, "it was important, I promise. It turned out alright, didn't it? I'd have never let you go if I thought something would happen."
I can't imagine that being true, I mean, she- I- she had to know Cell was coming too right? So obviously she knew something would happen. Maybe she just meant in this instance.
"Well I think the reason is obvious," Vegeta announced, "if this is your so-called teacher, then it's obvious she was just too much of a coward to come and fight so she sent children in her place."
She- I- she paused, looking over at Vegeta before smiling, "I have been fighting the Androids on my own for the past seventeen years. I can assure you, fear is not what held me away," she walked forward until she stood directly eye level with Vegeta.
"I have survived this long because I know when I'm losing. I save lives, and get out, fighting when necessary. I do not rush in recklessly into a losing fight and throw a hissy fit when I inevitably lose. You want to know the only difference between this timeline and mine? The only reason you're still alive? It's because these two were nice enough to let you live. Lucky you I guess."
"I am a Super Sayain! You will not speak to me like-"
"Yeah, you were in my timeline too. The exact same spite ruled you to achieve it. Like I said. The only difference. For your fight at least. If you really want, we could fight, prove your precious superiority, or try at least. But do you really want to get beat by a girl twice in one day?" She smirked.
They stared each other down for a moment, then two, then in a burst of energy Vegeta was gone, already flying away in a rage.
"Well, that was efficient," Tien noted.
For a moment Trunks's seemed like he wanted to follow, but turned to, her, instead, "Uh, Shaylan, I'm pretty sure these two were stronger than the ones in our timeline. I mean, I know I haven't fought them much but-"
"Oh yeah, I figured. Whether or not I actually could beat Vegeta is irrelevant. Even if I could, it wouldn't really accomplish anything. I just wanted to get rid of him. He was being annoying," she grinned.
"I don't understand at all, the Androids, they had plenty of time to kill us, plenty of opportunity, so why didn't they?"
"They didn't attack me at all when I tried protecting Tien," Chiaotzu pointed out.
"You knew from the start that going back would mess with the timeline, this must just be one of the things. Goku not dying must have changed how Gero programmed the Androids or something."
She turned away from Trunks to the rest of us, "still, them being different doesn't make them completely benign. They still want to kill Goku right? So there's still a problem there."
"Uh, yeah they do. They seem to be treating it like some kind of game," Krillin mentioned.
-she- nodded, "right, then they might be able to be deterred. But in case they're not we should still prepare for the worst."
"I'm sorry to interrupt but, do we know you?" Tien asked. "I assumed that since Trunks was so dodgy about mentioning you we'd have known you from somewhere but, I don't recognize you at all."
-She- just kinda looked at Tien for a moment before responding, "no. I guess you don't."
"Guess that's a timeline change or something?"
"Must be, anyway- we should move on. What's the next step here? I'd say it should be to move Goku, if they have Gero's information they must know where he lives. So-"
"Wait, before, before that, there's one other thing I want to address," Raditz stopped the conversation point blank, "you," he pointed at Clover, "you're obviously a Sayain, right?"
Clover glanced up at -her-, who shrugged as if to say, your choice, "I, yeah, I guess."
"Right so, who? Kakarot's got a wife and brown hair doesn't match the genes. Vegeta's kid is already accounted for, and you ain't mine, so, unless there's been another Sayain to Earth that I missed-"
It took me a few seconds too many to realize the implication Raditz was trying to make.
It took Nappa a few more.
"You're- you're mine?"
"Mmhmm, yep, great we can stop talking about this now."
"Who's the mother?" Raditz asked.
"…that's a good question…" Nappa looked down in thought.
"Really?"
"Look, sometimes things happen and-"
"I don't want an explanation!"
"Wow, we are still talking about this."
I, I didn't even know how to respond to any of this. It was no wonder never guessed the possibility, I mean, they look nothing alike. Her facial features were far too soft and any muscle that she must have had had to be pretty lean since it was completely covered to the point of it being unnoticeable by her jacket. All her features must have come from this unknown mother.
-she- put a hand on Clover's shoulder, "look, at the very least this isn't a conversation that needs an audience so, hold off, for now."
Nappa wasn't given an option to respond as -she- turned away and walked off, assuming everyone else would follow. Which was the case, of course.
They kept calling her Shaylan.
I didn't like it.
Anytime there is an opportunity to make fun of 17's stupid socks I will take it.
Yes I did make Vegeta stick around longer than in canon just so Future SIGohan can make fun of him, thanks for asking
And yeah, Clover's Nappa's kid. She existed before I even decided to bring Raditz back. It's not even completely unforeshadowed since in one of Raditz's dialogues I had him mention that Nappa liked to flirt lol
