3rd Person POV
Gamora had arrived at her and April's apartment, using her magic to open the door before she laid her sister down on their couch. Gamora looked at her sister for a moment before she got up and got a blanket for her and hot coco.
Whenever April woke up stressed, confused, or worried, Gamora would make her hot coco.
As Gamora was putting marshmallows in it, she heard a groan.
Gamora put the coco down and ran to the living to see her sister sitting up rubbing her head.
"What happened?" April said groggy before the night's events hit her.
"Oh my god. Turtles! They know karate! W-What were they?! Where are they?!" April said hysterically looking at Gamora who ran to the kitchen to get her sister's coco before entering the living room again.
"Hey calm down. You had a fright tonight and passed out. I don't want you to over exert yourself" Gamora said as she helped her sister sit up and gave her the coco.
April took several big gulps of the coco before exhaling calmly.
"There we go. Are you ok?" Gamora asked April who nodded before looking to her sister
"What were they?" April asked as Gamora sighed
"Mutant turtles. I don't know where they came from but that's what they are. I even got their names. The one in orange got all happy and excited that we were both green and told me." Gamora said as April sat up, her attention fully on her sister.
"The one in the orange mask is Michelangelo, the one in the blue mask is Leonardo, the one in red mask is Raphael, and the one in purple mask is Donnatello." Gamora said, feeling a tingle in her chest but brushed it off, focusing on her sister.
"I know those names" April whispered as Gamora snapped her head towards April
"What did you just say?" Gamora asked hoping she heard wrong
"I know those names! Come here!" April said as she led her older sister to her room.
April dug through her closet before taking out a box and emptying it. She grabbed 5 video files and a folder. The folder was labeled "Project Renaissance" and the five video files had names on them.
One said Splinter, one said Leonardo, one said Donnatello, one said Raphael, and one said Michelangelo.
"What the heck" Gamora muttered as April put the splinter file into a camera and both sisters watched as a baby April came onto the screen.
"Say hi splinter" Baby April said as the camera turned to zoom in on a rat in a glass cage.
April popped out the file entering another. The sisters watched as four turtles, each with a small color spot on its back, eating pizza as April filmed them.
Gamora watched in confusion until she heard April say their names.
"Say hi Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael, Donnatello!" Little April said excitedly
"I knew it! They were my pets! My pet turtles my dad kept in his lab. My dad and Erik Sacks wanted to create an experiment that would change the world!" April said ecstatic at what she found, knowing it would make the top story in the news business.
Gamora on the other hand was in shock. The mutants she saw were April's childhood pets and somehow they became 6 feet tall, could talk, and do karate. Gamora had seen some crazy things in space but never talking turtles.
"My boss is gonna make this the top story!" April said excited as she gathered everything and put it in a bag to take to her work and show her boss.
Gamora snapped her head to her sister, shocked and angry at her words.
"Excuse me? April you're not really going to tell people are you?" Gamora said feeling horrified that her sister would even think about telling others, who in return would hunt and hurt the four mutants.
"Gamora, this is amazing! I can show my boss and she'll make it the top news story! I'll be the top news reporter!" April said excited but simmered down and frowned at her sister's hurt look.
"Hey, what's wrong?" April said worriedly as Gamora shook her head and scoffed in disbelief.
"What's wrong?! April! I'm like them! I have powers, I'm green, and I can fight! The only difference is that I don't look like a turtle and I'm a female! Why would you expose them! You know that they'll be hunted and tested on!" Gamora said as her eyes glowed purple and April scoffed
"Seriously?! Gamora, this is big! I finally have a chance to make something of myself and you're not going to support me?!" April shouted angry as Gamora's face got a angry look aswell
"No! I'm not going to support you! Not when you want to expose beings like me and allow them to be hurt and tested on!" Gamora shouted feeling betrayed as April looked offended
"Look April I'm only saying this once. If you broadcast this information you will not have my support and I will never forgive or help you!" Gamora said calmly with anger laced in her eyes as April huffed angrily.
"Fine! I'll broadcast it without your support or help! I don't need you now and I won't need you then!"
April shouted as Gamora glared and ran into her room, slamming the door. April ran to hers, slamming her door.
"I don't need her!"
"How could she do this…"
These were the two thoughts going through Gamora's and April's heads before they went to sleep, angry and hurt.
-the next day-
"NO! PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!"
"No!" Gamora shot up with a pant, sweat dripping down her head.
Ever since she came back to life she had been having nightmares about her death and Thanos throwing her off the cliff in Vormir.
Usually after a nightmare Gamora had April to comfort her but not this time. Her sister was busy ruining four innocent mutants' lives.
Gamora sighed before grabbing her towel and her outfit. She chose some dark blue ripped jeans, a black off the shoulder sleeveless top, and black 5 inch knee high heeled boots.
She walked into her bathroom setting her clothes and towel to the side before taking her clothes off and entering the shower.
Gamora sighed as the cold water hit her face, making her aware that she really was alive and not on the ground of that stupid cliff.
Closing her eyes, flashes of Thanos appeared. Him throwing her off the cliff and her hitting the ground and being surrounded by total darkness.
Maybe it was because she kept dreaming about it or maybe it was because of the events of the past years of hiding, trying to control her powers and having nightmares. No one knows but at that moment Gamora broke down into tears, falling to the shower floor crying.
She was sick of it. She just wanted to be happy, to not have nightmares. She just wanted peace. But it seemed no matter how hard she tried to find it, it was never an option for her. She could either continue to fight or die. And Gamora was starting to consider the second option.
