Hey i just barely managed to get this out on Saturday -oh, oops. Spoke too soon.
I think, I'm going to have to push it to every other Saturday for now
Though that does work neatly for me changing the over image neatly on FFN. So on the first week I'll change the picture on release and second I'll change it again and then repeat for the next upload and keep it after changing it again on the third
Speaking of which, the person who does the cover images currently has commissions open so you should check that out
thewittywhy: yeah…
Qinlongfei: I think super 17 would be cool, if it wasn't 17. If it was just a new Android he'd be cool. Or If Gero just controlled/fused/whatever 17 and they saved him at the end because that west his fault ( are changed the design because I don't love the one in gt)
And thanks, I like now that scene turned out. Or scenes, plural. Am Mr. Satan as a concept is just so fun to play with
JCINNABAR: as always, many thanks, and same to you
Crimson King Of Thighs: I mean, it's not just Mr. Satan as a character from DBZ, but also he places up a character of a persona in the public
OnTheTidesOfEvermore: on rip. A good thing then
Zangya
Zangya frowned as she looked down at the stage.
To be quite honest, she found this whole thing rather boring. She'd come to see her child, but now that that was done, she had no reason to stay. But she did as to not cause any disturbance.
The only remotely interesting thing that's happened was that Satan girl getting hurt. Though the child seemed to care for her so Zangya supposed it was unfortunate.
Then nothing happened for what felt like much longer than it probably was.
Honestly, she understood that these humans were more sensitive about their young getting hurt, but to shut down their entire event for it?
Gine was starting to get restless and she was about to cut her losses and just leave when the announcer informed the crowd that the girl was fine.
A waste of time then.
At least from then it only took a couple minutes more for the next round to start. It was Her Raditz's brother's match. So another quick and dull one. At this point, she was convinced the only interesting fight would be between the child and the prince.
Of course, this was another fight that seemed to begin with talking that none in the crowd could hear so it was just them standing there.
Though her interest somewhat increased when he seemed to disregard Bulma's and his wife's instruction and used that Super Sayain form. Even more when sparks of lighting signified the next stage of the transformation.
She honestly could not imagine his opponent justifying such use of strength, especially before a single blow has been traded.
Not that that seemed to matter since almost immediately the two pale-looking men, one of which was the one who hurt the Satan girl, jumped into the ring and did, something. A few moments later, his hair had returned to black and he'd collapsed to the ground.
Even the announcer seemed at a loss for words, quite literally saying nothing into the microphone for nearly a minute before seeming to remember his job.
Not that the pale men's interference counting for disqualification mattered since they'd already flown off.
Her Raditz was frowning. He was too stubborn to admit he was worried for his brother. How cute.
She supposed she could take it upon herself to investigate in his stead. It'd be far more interesting than sitting here at the very least.
So she handed Gine off to Her Raditz and volunteered to head down.
A couple of guards tried to stop her from entering but she walked passed them without glancing back.
It was cute that the little humans thought they could do anything to prevent her, but the novelty of it had faded over the years.
She found the common space of the tournament and gathered what had happened as the lot of them fed their fallen friend one of the Senzu Beans.
Those two had stolen his energy and were now taking it somewhere. From what she gathered it was to awaken some evil force.
Throughout she ensured to keep the Child in her peripherals.
It wasn't that she didn't trust the child per se, it was simply that there were so few on this planet who were stronger than her. With That Goku and the Prince, she was still reasonably certain she could defend herself against despite them being stronger than her. Over the years she ensured she'd be stronger than Bojack ever was should the situation demand it.
But the Child's strength was far too out of reach. At best she could prevent the transformation altogether. By preventing the light ball required or by cutting off his tail. Outside of that, she didn't have the slightest idea how she'd defend against it.
And seeing the Child so, subdued, was more than a little unnerving.
But that was likely no concern. She didn't believe there was a situation where the Child would pick a fight without cause, and she had no intention of giving him cause.
Though it never hurt to be cautious.
It was decided that they'd follow after the two, as well as the one who'd initially followed after them. Some Kai. The annoying group that the Kais were she wouldn't be surprised if they were entirely exaggerating the threat out of proportion.
She wouldn't even be surprised if they weren't aware of how strong the people they'd been speaking to were.
She debated leaving enough alone and heading back, but she was dreadfully bored, and at least this promised to be somewhat entertaining. It did no harm to follow along.
Along the way, she gathered the explanation while tuning out as much of the small talk as possible.
Apparently, there was some creature sealed in the earth supposedly strong enough to destroy, everything.
Though from what she's heard that seems to be the typical in terms of stakes around here.
They eventually caught up to the Kai and this time she took great amusement in his shock and borderline fear. Because he was clearly was aware of the scope of her prowess. Though she wouldn't be surprised if it was at an outdated point of reference.
The Kai still insisted that this "Buu" creature was more dangerous.
It irked her. It seemed as though he was dismissing the lot of them for this mysterious creature that was so incredibly dangerous that they just, left it. In the earth. For who knows how many years.
Besides all that the creature wasn't even awake yet. The only current threat was this "wizard" that was going to revive it.
The Kai explained that the wizard corrupted any evil intentions to use for his own will.
…
Ah, that was a problem, assuming it was true.
"Very well then," she stood up, catching the attention of the rest, "I suppose I will go back."
She merely raised an eyebrow at the questions. "I have no need for such temptations," she turned her head back into the direction they came, "I am, content, with how things currently stand."
She looked back at the group, "will any be joining me?" She asked in general, not looking at anyone in particular, however, the question was primarily for the Prince.
That being said, she wasn't surprised when no one volunteered.
"Very well then. I hope none come to regret that."
She didn't miss how the Child's eyes flickered toward the Prince. Having the same concerns as her then.
But that was no longer her concern. She left without another word.
She truly did have no desire for any particular change. There was no undoing what had been done, and even if there were, she'd never be able to trust Bojack again. In all reality, it was likely a good thing his betrayal came at a time when it'd fail rather than at a later point.
She missed the travel, and the conquest, but this planet was safe, and she somewhat trusted its inhabitants. At the very least they seemed incapable of holding a grudge which was beneficial for her.
She enjoyed Her Raditz and cared for her child. She had no current desire for that to change. Perhaps one day she would, but for now, she was content.
Perhaps when she inevitably outlived Her Raditz.
There was also the fact that her aggression would likely be directed toward the child, which wasn't particularly fair considering he was just protecting his planet.
And it also didn't matter if that corruption doubled her power, she'd still have no means of winning a fair fight without preventing the transformation.
She doubted anyone could. At least as things currently stood.
…
By the time I got back to the main area, I'd long since pulled my goggles back down and resumed the whole Super Sayain disguise.
By that point, the intermission had ended and Goku's match had already started.
The first sign that something was off, besides what I already knew of that guy being like, a Kai adjacent or something, was that they weren't fighting. Just talking.
The second sign was Shin stepping up and asking for no one to interfere.
Piccolo glanced down at me and I just kinda shrugged. By the time that Goku had started to go Super Saiyan I already kinda figured that this was when Canon Gohan's energy was supposed to be drained or something.
I had no idea why those two seemed to want that though. But they probably had their reasons.
In the other's questioning, Piccolo ended up revealing that Shin was the Supreme Kai.
Assumably to keep anyone from panicking, Shin did explain that Spopovich and the other one would probably end up attacking Goku, but that he'd be fine.
And sure enough, exactly that happened. Shin actively helped them immobilize Goku for long enough for them to weaken him enough.
Wouldn't it be easier to just kill them and deal with Buu later? This seemed pretty convoluted. At the very least they should have used someone else as bait. If it was stealing energy they wanted, then Goku was too good of a choice.
Unless it was like, purely good energy or something. In which case I guess the options there are a bit more limited. And it was certainly better they target Goku for that than Goten.
But that seems like an odd requirement for Buu, even considering how naive and innocent he was.
Eh, whatever. It's not like it had much of a difference at this point. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they got more energy out of this than they did Canon Gohan.
The two took off and Shin immediately followed.
The other guy knelt over Goku, I can only assume, it heal him.
Once the red guy had healed Goku, we began to follow after. Though Eighteen elected to stay for the tournament, and I had no idea where Seventeen disappeared off to.
I did raise an eyebrow at Zangya's appearance, though it was hardly something to complain about.
…
Announcer Guy-
This.
This was a disaster.
Nothing about this was right.
He was at a complete loss for what to do.
First Miss Videl's fight went too far now this?
He already didn't know what to do when Son Goku lost his match. Well, it was through interference, but still. That, was impossible. At least in the first round. His very presence seemed to indicate that it would have been an excellent tournament. But now it's in shambles.
First Son Goku lost. In the first round. Then half the contestants just up and left. Flew away. Into the sky. Who cares about the tournament.
It was the World Tournament. There was supposed to be respect for it! Sure it wasn't completely unheard of for contestants to drop out but that's maybe one every dozen tournaments. Not half of the tournament up and leaving!
Now what was he supposed to do? He still had a tournament to run. He couldn't just leave all the fans without a conclusion.
He- needed another intermission to figure this out.
…
As we flew the red guy, Kibito, gave to a basic explanation on Buu.
I'd once again dropped the transformation as soon as we were out of public view.
About how he'd been sealed within the Earth. And that it was because an old Wizard named Bibidi created him for destruction. Now his son Babidi was trying to revive him, and they needed to let Goku's energy be stolen in order to follow those two to wherever Babidi was hiding.
They had left Buu sealed within the earth to avoid him accidentally being reawakened by any disturbance.
"What about when the Earth was almost destroyed?" I asked.
"What?" Kibito looked back,
"There's been at least three times that the Earth's almost been destroyed, why weren't you concerned then?"
"The Earth has been in no noteworthy danger that we have sensed prior to Babidi's return."
"Uh. When Vegeta first showed up he tried to destroy the planet within a few hours. Also the time Frieza showed up, which should be self-explanatory. Cell, existed. He broadcasted his intent on national television. He definitely should have been strong enough to be a concern."
"Surely you are exaggerating. If the Earth was truly in danger we would have noticed."
"Apparently not. Hey, confirm," I angled my head back to look at Vegeta.
"Definitely tried to blow up the planet," he agreed, not even trying to sugarcoat it.
Kibito just looked, really confused.
"You must be mistaken," he concluded before turning away, closed off to arguments.
I was tempted to push it but it probably wouldn't lead anywhere.
We caught up to Shin pretty quickly, and soon after that, Spopovich and the other one landed, much to Shin and Kibito's confusion.
"We've searched this area before," Kibito explained.
Apparently not very well though since once we hid behind a mountain cliff, at the instructions of Shin, it was fair easy to note the disturbed ground indicating something very large was buried.
All conversation was cut when Piccolo stated that he heard someone leaving the ship.
A moment later, two people exited. A short guy I vaguely recognized as Babidi, and, another guy with bright red skin and horns.
That guy! I completely forgot that guy existed. I think there was a joke about him going to heaven as a punishment because he'd be too happy in hell or something.
Why is the only thing I remember about a concerning threat, judging by Shin and Kibito's reactions, a single joke scene?
Oh well, whatever. I'd just be careful about him. If he was such a notable threat to get that reaction out of the Kai's then he was probably the most dangerous one here.
"King of the Demons," sounds like a notable enough title to be concerned about.
Once that was established, the deaths of Babidi's powers were described. Most notably, his control over evil. Using the darkness in people's hearts to ensure them to his will.
I was about to say something to just tell Vegeta to leave when Zangya stood up.
I blinked as she left.
I never really considered the possibility of someone else getting turned besides Vegeta. I guess if it'd be anyone it would be her, and unlike him, she was self-aware of that.
It felt, weird though. That she'd come along just to leave. I mean, it was obviously the right decision. It just, seemed off.
Though now I'm not sure if saying anything to Vegeta would be pushing it too far on the subject. I was near certain he wouldn't leave and accusing him probably wouldn't do any good.
The device that stole Goku's Energy was handed over much to Babidi's delight.
He then proceeded to kill the two of them.
Usually, I'd be annoyed but this time, I didn't particularly care. The only downside was I didn't get to do anything first.
It was disturbing how he killed them, as they come how both imploded and exploded on his whim, though I'm just gonna assume that's not something to worry about unless you get Majined.
Partially for my own sake here because that did look, really disturbing. Even with all I'd been desensitized.
Honestly, it did put me a bit on edge. And my attention was already primarily focused on the big guy.
And he remained outside when Babidi and his henchman went back in, which was also suspicious.
I was already practically on my toes when I saw his head tilt back, so when he turned and dashed to us I was already moving, more focused on preventing Dabura's attack than who he was targeting.
I only noted that it was Kibito after I'd pushed him out of the way.
Knocked to the ground by my actions, I quickly turned to keep Dabura in my line of sight.
Dabura didn't seem to linger on the loss of the kill as he quickly moved on to his next target.
In which he spit on Krillin.
The absurdity of it left me dumbfounded.
Piccolo rushed towards Dabura, only for Dabura to spit on his cloak too.
My attention was brought back to Krillin when he started yelling, in pain or fear I wasn't sure, but either way, his skin was slowly turning grey and rough-
And soon enough he was entirely stone.
My eyes shot back to Piccolo, who barely had enough time to register what happened to Krillin before the same fate befell him.
Then Shin decided to explain that Dabura spitting on someone turned them to stone.
And I am officially putting Shin on my not favorite person list.
"How do we turn them back?" I demanded. My tone dry.
"The only way would be if Dabura himself were killed."
"Noted," I said. Not caring if that made any real sense. The logic behind it didn't matter as long as it worked.
I shot up towards Dabura, who seemed surprised. My hair spiked back to blonde as I went.
Dabura attempted to spit, almost more by instinct than by intent. I propelled myself down, it landing on my coat as it trailed behind me instead.
I spun, removing the cloak and tossing it in front of me, using the obstruction to vanish from sight.
Dabura managed to block my hammer kick and retreated backwards, no less smug than he started.
"I will give you one chance to run, unless you want to end up like your friends," he said before vanishing, my eyes barely managing to track his movements towards the entrance of Babidi's ship.
I frowned at the obvious bait.
Oh well. Not like there was much choice.
The five of us that remained made our way to the ship as well.
"One thing," I said before we entered, "you two can fight whoever you want in there," I said indicating towards Goku and Vegeta.
"But Dabura's mine."
