Warnings: Dumbledore bashing, Ginny Molly Ron bashing, Hermione bashing, Lily Potter Bashing, m/m, Tom/Harry, Good father James

...

Rain battered the windows to the Hogwarts Headmaster's Office. The summer had been unusually hot and dry. This was the first rainstorm they had in months. In the office, there were an unusual amount of people.

Albus Dumbledore was to be expected given he was the current Headmaster. James, Lily, and the Potter children were not expected. Well, the Potter children with the exception of the Heir. Sirius Black and his husband were also there supporting their Godchildren.

Rose Potter was the eldest of the children. She looked like a carbon copy of her mother with her fiery red hair. It was only her hazel eyes that would give people pause. At fifteen she had just turned of age to start courting. She was wearing a short red dress and nice dress shoes.

Next to Rose was Jacob "Jake" and Alexander "Alex" Potter. They were twins and the youngest of the family. Jacob had dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He was slightly taller than his brother at exactly 4 feet 8 inches. Alex on the other hand had black hair that had red at the tips and light green eyes. He was 4 feet 5 inches. Both boys had turned 11 in February.

Sirius kept glancing at his goddaughter as she was shifting. Shifting was never a good sign for her. Ever since she had done the second Ritual of Talent she hadn't been quite right. Not that he would ever say such a thing out loud. Both James and Lily would have his hide for it.

In a way, they blamed themselves for it. They had wanted to experiment with the timeless tradition. Sirius knowing how dangerous it warned them of what could happen. They didn't listen to him and went through with it.

Rituals of talent were done for every witch and wizard at least once in their lifetime including muggle-borns. Muggleborns had what would be a pureblood's second ritual done at Gringotts. This told them of their core alignment and any first-level talents they may have. Most common was Spellcasting with a small talent in charms or Transfiguration. All witches and wizards could do spellcasting. It was what set them apart from others. It was rare for muggle-borns and half-bloods to do any more than the first ritual. Talents could be awakened at the ages of 7, 11, 15, and 17. The awakening did not have to happen on the birthday as long as it wasn't done early. One could not double up on rituals either. A few families had died out trying that.

Purebloods like Sirius and James had done at least two if not three rituals. They both had strong talents in Spellcasting and Transfiguration. James had small talent in communing with animals. This was found out in his third ritual. Almost immediately he rejected it as it was considered a dark talent and therefore evil.

It was ridiculous but Sirius had not been able to convince his friend otherwise. Dark didn't mean evil. Sirius knew that better than anyone given his core was dark. Sirius never told James that he had a strong talent for Battle Magic or a small talent for summoning. Hogwarts didn't offer classes in most of the Talents so he never truly explored them. Still, he knew they were there always waiting to be used.

Rose unfortunately was not lucky in that regard. She had a strong talent for Empathy. One that could have come in handy as a healer if she had not done the ritual two years early. Because of this, her magic was erratic and her Empathy could not be turned off. As such she fed off of the emotions around her. Her magic was well known for attacking anyone that came near. More than once it sent James to Saint Mungo's. They knew that she needed someone with powerful magic to court her.

The floo suddenly flared green and a figure stepped through. Sirius gaped at the teenager who stepped into the office. His killing curse green eyes clocked each and every person in a second. Sirius knew exactly who this was even if he changed a lot in the last three years.

Harrison "Harry" James Potter was tall for his age. Like many of the old pureblood families, the Potter line only had Heirs and Lords. The first male child born would be declared Heir as long as they had magic.

A He had dark black hair that was cut short so that it didn't look like a bird's nest-like the others. His bangs felt lightly in his killing curse green eyes. The black robes with a blue trim he wore were of a fine quality and fit perfectly. Lean muscle could be seen well defined under the robes. On the left breast was a gold wolf crest. To his immense surprise, Harry wore a silver wolf medallion on top of his robes.

As the floo flared green again Harry spun on his heel and bowed to Albus and then James. Sirius wrinkled his nose slightly. Stupid pureblood etiquette. That was one thing he hated having to learn.

The newcomer was an interesting man. At first look, he was very plain looking in a way reminding Sirius of Peter. He had mousy brown hair and hazel eyes. Like Harry, he had lean in muscle. The robes he wore were black with a silver trim. If he remembered correctly that indicated that he was the Deputy Headmaster.

Harry asked in a gravelly voice, "Why am I here? I need to return to my studies."

Everyone blinked. Shouldn't he be happy about getting a break from his studies? Sirius knew that Harry's school was stricter but he should at least be grateful to see them. Especially given that it had been almost three years since they saw him last.

Unlike the other Potters, Harry did not go to Hogwarts. Instead, he went to a small French school known as Nightingale. James had been told it was for those with weaker Talents. Since Harry never really had accidental magic they thought it was best for him to go there.

With the way, Harry held himself he now wondered if that wasn't a mistake. They didn't know what Talents if any Harry awakened after his eleventh birthday. He had refused to come home for it or any holiday since he was ten.

Albus said with a twinkle, "Mr. Keller I believe you can leave, Mr. Potter here. His family is here and I believe that they need time to reacquaint."

Keller folded his arms across his chest as he said, "I believe not, Dumbledore. You see when we agreed to allow him off the ground it was under the provision that he would be escorted to and from. As his Deputy Headmaster, Head of House, and Master I am his escort."

"Master? He is a free wizard!" Came Lily's angry voice.

Harry rolled his eyes as he said, "I am an apprentice. Seriously you would think that was obvious given that you are a healer mother. You had to go through an apprenticeship too."

James said with a frown, "You can't have an apprenticeship. That has to go through me first."

Keller shrugged as he said, "He can just as all students of Nightingale can. You both signed a contract that allows him almost full control over his life in Nightingale for as long as he is a student. Exceptions being official courting, abusive situations, and should there be any trouble with the law."

Sirius started. That was a surprise. They should have expected that in truth. A lot of the schools had such protections in place. Harry reached out a hand to scratch at his neck. This allowed his robe sleeve to drop down just enough to reveal his hand. On the boy's index finger was the Potter Heir Ring. On the middle finger was another ring this one without a crest. It appeared to be made out of goblin steel.

That was not what had drawn Sirius's eyes, however. No, what had drawn his eyes was the band of grey and black stars that crossed the middle of his hand. There were at least a dozen stars showing that it was a strong talent. What talent was that? The colors indicated it was neutral and or dark. Few could go either way.

Sirius looked back over at James who was frowning. He was obviously confused about the marks and the ring. It had been a long time since they had seen Harry but surely he hadn't changed this much?

Harry asked his voice cold, "Why have you called me here?"

Lily tried, "Well Harry since you turn 13 tomorrow it's time for you to start attending balls. This is both to start making alliances as the Heir to the family. It is also so you can make good impressions for possible courtships."

Green eyes flashed a golden amber. It was something Sirius had only seen in his husband and those like him. Surely he was mistaken. There was no way Harry could be a were. That was impossible.

Without missing a beat Harrison said, "No. These next weeks especially are too busy for me to even consider going to balls."

"What about your future?" Screeched Lily, "What about Rose's? You not showing up will look badly upon her!"

"Lily," James tried to intercept but he was cut off.

"My boy don't you want to spend more time with your family," intercepted the old man, "Unless you are too busy to do your duties as Heir. Then maybe you should pass on the Heir Ring to a more suitable sibling."

That being Jacob was left unsaid. Not that he needed to say it. Sirius had heard about Albus trying to convince James that Jacob was a better Heir. This was the first time he had seen it for himself.

Harry's look darkened into a glare, "I am not in fact too busy for my duties. Duties requiring my presence do not begin until I am fourteen. Regardless of when I got my Heir Ring. Surely you know this?"

Sirius saw the way Albus's jaw worked. He was obviously annoyed that plan didn't go over well. Harry was right, however. Until an Heir was fourteen they could not be forced to attend Balls. Especially if they interfered with their studies.

Keller asked, "Is this all we were needed for? If so we need to head back to the school."

James sighed before he nodded. Harry bowed shortly to Albus and then a slightly deeper one to James.

Harry called out at the floo, "Nightingale Academy, Lupus!"
