Chapter 71
Jailbreak
(Побег из Тюрьмы)
Monday, September 8th, Mstyora, Russia
It had taken a great deal of time jumping between several different trains on their journey further into Russian land heading northwards; but by the time early evening had started to roll in, Vukodlak, Tomura, Himiko and Twice finally found themselves at their next destination, based on what their sole foreign member had told them.
Much like Saransk; the landscape around this particular town was also wide, flat and displeasingly open. The onset of Autumn temperatures also left much of the landscape browning and looking particularly desolate, as there were only a few notable patches of empty trees to be seen around the horizon, every now and then interspersed by a few tiny rivers and patches of early snow, but that was about it.
The town itself was hardly anything notable, either. Hell, Saransk pretty much looked like a bustling metropolis compared to where they were now. "This place barely even feels like a small town. Sensei, who the heck are we supposed to get help from in a place like this?" Himiko immediately asked once the group had begun making their way through this tiny settlement; none of the civilians around paying the four disguised unfamiliar faces any mind as they took in their surroundings.
"Yeah, this place is all the way out in the sticks; I don't think there's another town or city for kilometers around. Last I saw was that military-looking setup a half hour back. Is that something we should be worried about, by the way? It's not a problem at all, surely." Twice noted; but despite his and Himiko's spoken (and Tomura's silent) skepticism, Vukodlak himself was completely unfettered from the task he had in mind; instead simply taking in a deep breath of the Russian countryside air with that Fall chill.
"Yes, the fact it's all the way out in the sticks is precisely why this plan has as much potential to work as it does. Welcome to Mstyora, everyone. I know it's barely anything to look at, but don't worry. Who we're looking for isn't in the town proper…but just a little ways outside of it, opposite the direction we came from." Vukodlak's confidence was immediately reassuring for Himiko, to neither of her partners' surprise, as she immediately started bouncing eagerly right alongside him; while Tomura kept his eyes and his head on a swivel to make sure nobody was trying to listen in on them. "Who exactly are we looking for out here and where? I don't like being out in open places like this still after what we've already accomplished so far."
Vukodlak hurriedly motioned his head towards a nearby alley, signaling his allies to duck inside with him so they wouldn't draw attention from others. As soon as they were out of the open, he gave his compatriots their answer: "I didn't want to say this until we were here and ready, but the plan is for us to break several especially powerful fellow Villains out of the prison I was being held in before the new government recruited me for their Hero hunter. This prison is a few kilometers outside of this town out in the plains, and these are Villains with a real history against the New Bogatyrs, Tunguska's old Hero team from back in the day. If anyone would be willing to work with us in destroying him and all the new Heroes around him, it would be them."
Himiko and Twice, even under the mask he was wearing underneath his provided disguise, couldn't hide the anticipatory expressions on their faces when really thinking about the overall goal. If they could recruit more Villains powerful enough, and with enough of an axe to grind with Tunguska, that they'd be willing to work with them, then not only could the League finally return to Japan that much stronger, but with the ability to wipe the floor with both the pesky foreign Hero and all his friends, and Overhaul to boot. Sure, the part about breaking them out of a prison meant for Villains left a lot of questions up in the air, but they were both hardly the type to actually think about these things before reacting.
Tomura, on the other hand, was currently thinking of something else in the moment. Until they could actually get a good enough look at this prison for themselves, he had no right to say yes or no. However, if Vukodlak believed they could pull it off after having managed to pull through for them thus far, then they at least needed to give him the benefit of the doubt and hear what he had in mind when the time was right.
Speaking of time, though, Tomura found himself growing more and more frustrated with how much of it they had spent out in this part of the world while the rest of the League was left in wait; and who knew what Overhaul and his precious organization were doing to strengthen themselves even as they spoke?
However, this was exactly why Tomura had spent so much of their last trip just thinking about exactly how he wanted to step in and intercept this possibility in order to regain the League an advantage over their rival in Villainy. Now that they had come this far, obtained as much as they had, and now had their next goal in front of them, he felt especially assured that now was the time to put his own plan in motion. "I'm trusting you to lead the way and not get us turned around out in that wasteland, Vukodlak-san. However, before we go…there's something I need to finally take care of."
Vukodlak didn't dare to pry into what was going through their leader's head, simply judging by the edge in Tomura's voice. Instead, he took a step back, symbolically giving him the floor.
Not wanting to risk being overheard, Tomura soon spotted a back door to a relatively old-looking building, since old out here seemed to typically mean unlived in. Once they were inside, he proceeded to lay out all of the radio equipment Vukodlak had set up during their time in Saransk, and once that was all done, hooked it up to his phone, and then finally dug through his pocket before pulling out the crumpled business card Overhaul had left at his feet at the end of their fateful first meeting. Of course, the sight of such a thing and the memories it carried drew many questionable looks from his three comrades, but if they didn't like what he was about to do, that was their problem. For Tomura, this idea had too much potential in their favor for him to simply ignore.
Upon putting in the number on the card, Tomura waited in grim silence for several seconds before he was finally answered with the click of the other end being picked up, with an unfamiliar voice speaking up: "Hello? This isn't any kind of real number. Who is this and how did you get this number?"
"This is Shigaraki Tomura of the League of Villains. I want to speak to your leader, Overhaul, as soon as possible. Tell him…I've decided to consider his offer of working together after all, and would like to see about setting up a more personable meeting." As Tomura gave the Shie Hassaikai lackey on the other end this explanation, he was completely blocking out the looks of disbelief on Himiko, Twice and Vukodlak's faces as they all gave each a look that screamed the exact same thing: 'Work together?! Has he gone insane?!'
"Understood; I'm glad to hear you've decided to reconsider after all. You're in luck, too; the boss has just returned from a little outing. Please wait a second."
The call was momentarily put on hold, and the instant it was, Twice, Himiko and Vukodlak all instantly and respectively exclaimed: "You're actually putting together a meeting with that murdering piece of shit?! What the hell, Shigaraki-san?!" "Yeah, Tomura, I thought the whole point of us coming out here was so we could kill them! Why are you suddenly getting all buddy-buddy with them, huh?!" "How exactly do you plan on getting a meeting with that asshole while we're all the way out here?! What makes you think he won't try to wipe out all the others if he finds out we aren't even in the country?!"
Tomura harshly swept his flat hand across the air to signify his followers to shut their mouths, taking the moment after to calm himself back down. "This isn't about actually setting up anything. I just realize we'll have a better idea how to deal with the Shie Hassaikai once we know exactly what it is Overhaul wants with us specifically. This meeting is simply going to be for that and nothing more as of right now."
With serendipitous timing, the phone suddenly clicked back on, and the sound of Overhaul's voice speaking up from the other end had Tomura's three partners instinctively flinching and trembling with their own kind of anger: "Shigaraki Tomura-san; I have to say I'm really happy to hear you've decided to consider my offer. My apologies for not being here to answer you even sooner, I had some…unforeseen difficulties to attend to just now. I hear you actually want to set up a meeting as well?"
"That's right. You were correct that I was letting my emotions run too high before, but I'm willing to make a more composed judgment now. Would it work for you if we were to perhaps have our meeting first thing tomorrow?" As Tomura said this, he was physically trying to keep the burning hatred Overhaul's voice inspired in him in-check, clutching his free hand tight in a show of restraint.
"That sounds perfect. I'll make sure we have everything set up here for you when the time comes. As a show of good faith, since the last time we met at a spot of your choosing, this time I shall choose the location. I even have a spot for you to go to where two of my lieutenants will meet you and then guide you to the meeting place in question."
Overhaul proceeded to give Tomura a complete address which he hurriedly wrote down upon the back of the business card. Once that had been done and the time of meeting had been agreed upon, it was with the most forced expression of gratitude that Tomura could conjure up that could still be even partially mistaken for being genuine, that he finally closed the call and let out a shaky and furious sigh, clearly grateful he didn't have to be holding his vitriol in any longer.
Without wasting another moment, Tomura proceeded to then start dialing in another number, and after putting the device on speaker, he was quickly answered by another click, and this time the much more relieving sound of Kurogiri's voice: "Shigaraki Tomura-san, this is a very pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure whether to expect to hear back from you this soon after your departure. Am I to understand this means you've all completed your business and I can take you all back to headquarters?"
"Unfortunately no, not yet, Kurogiri-san. We still have a great deal to get done out here, but there's something I want you to do for us that can prove very helpful for what's to come. Firstly, are the others with you by this point?"
The instant Tomura asked this, the echo of what sounded like Spinner's voice sounded from the background on the other side: "Damn right; Dabi-san and Compress-san are here with me, too, Shigaraki-san! Kurogiri-san told us everything about what happened with these Shie Hassaikai bastards, and what this Overhaul did to Magne-san! If we're going to battle, just say the word!"
Suddenly, the icy cold quiet of Dabi's voice was just barely able to be heard answering: "Would you quiet down? If we were going to battle already, do you really think Shigaraki would be choosing to stay wherever he and the others are and not be a part of it after what they did? Just hear what the man has to say first."
Just as Dabi finished talking Spinner down, the sound of Mr. Compress' voice suddenly called out from the background: "My apologies for interrupting, but I'm assuming Vukodlak-san is with you right now? If so, I'd like to personally extend my deepest thanks for his helping my injury heal as he did. Thank you, dear comrade. I suppose I should consider myself lucky the pain made me pass out when it did. Either way, my arm is back and good as new, and I have you to thank for it."
Vukodlak wasn't sure whether to actually indulge Mr. Compress with an answer, but while Himiko and Twice were happily expressing joyous relief at their ally's recovery and before he could even decide; Tomura took control over the conversation once more with that serious chill that could render any number of rooms silent. "Alright, that's enough from all of you right now. It's a relief to know you've all reunited while we've been gone, and an even greater relief to know you're back on your feet, Compress-san; but we have a far more pressing mission to bring underway. I've just recently gotten in contact with Overhaul again, and I've told him that I want to hold a one-on-one meeting with him tomorrow…only it's not going to be me personally he's talking to."
To his relief, nobody dared say anything else, simply letting the basis for what he had in mind sink in while Tomura now set his eyes on Twice specifically. "Kurogiri-san, listen closely. I'm going to have Twice-san make a clone of me, and then I'm going to send you our current coordinates so you can open a Warp Gate to bring him back to Japan with. Vukodlak-san managed to come through for us with a makeshift little toy of his that always keeps track of our coordinates, so whenever we need to contact you, you'll always be able to know where we are so you can assist.
"Anyway, when it comes through, see about getting a simple tape recorder for the clone to carry inside itself. It's not flesh and blood like us, so that shouldn't be an issue. Since the clones are made with perfect imprints of our memories and personalities, according to him; my clone will let Overhaul think that we will officially be willing to cooperate with him and his organization; while in reality, we'll be out here finishing up our work and shoring up our numbers, resources and strength for our grand return. For now, this will simply be a chance for us to know exactly what Overhaul wants of us, and we can decide what to do from there. Do you all understand this?"
It was instantly clear that Tomura was not only asking this of the League members back in Japan, but especially all those still around him, looking them all in the eye to prove his point. Thankfully, even the much more impulsive Himiko and Twice didn't look like they were willing to argue any further, even despite the conflicted looks in their eyes. Even Vukodlak, while still gripping his sleeves in a white-knuckled grip and sucking in a harsh breath through his teeth, gave a single understanding nod.
"We understand, Shigaraki Tomura-san. The others don't like it, but they understand, regardless. Give me your coordinates, and I shall see it done. Will there be any means for me to contact you after the meeting is concluded so I can give you this recorder you need?"
Tomura gave another silent glance to Vukodlak, silently asking if that were actually possible, since he was the one who made this means for them to communicate without being spied upon. Unfortunately, the Russian Villain gave a single shake of his head. With that, his eyes fell upon the phone again: "Unfortunately no. However, Overhaul and I already agreed on the time in which we would meet, and I've already calculated what the time here would be compared to the time in Japan. There'll be a specific time window in which I'll call you to see about the conclusion of the meeting."
From there, with all the details officially having been covered, the call was finally ended, and before long, another of Kurogiri's trusted Warp Gates opened up right next to the whole tightly gathered Villain group. Taking that as his cue, Twice proceeded to concentrate, and before long took a step back, leaving a quickly forming perfect copy of Tomura, who without hesitation proceeded through the gate before it just as quickly closed behind it, once more leaving the four Villains alone in silence once more.
"So, with that part now being taken care of, do we just continue on our way into the countryside, Vukodlak-san?" Tomura finally asked, already getting back onto his feet, only for the foreign Villain to shake his head.
"Don't be too hasty, Tomura-san. I need to let you all know exactly where we're getting into first. This prison is a well-maintained state secret, even if it's above ground, unlike Tartarus. Any visual evidence of its existence from aerial or satellite pictures have been erased. However, you're all extremely lucky because you have me, and I can tell you everything there is to know about the setup of this place from when I was brought in. The place is lined with numerous reinforced fences within towering concrete walls with automated gun turrets atop guard towers on all corners and lining the walls. The entire landscape around the prison has been completely clear cut of trees, so on the astronomical chance that a prisoner were to actually manage to get outside the walls, they would be mowed down before they even got twenty meters away.
"The prison itself extends a good depth underground, so in that regard it's actually similar to Tartarus. There are motion sensors, cameras, wall-mounted machine guns, electrified floor panels, tranquilizer or lethal gas systems to quell riots, deadly lasers; real top notch security. There aren't any roads for vehicles to get in or outside the prison, and the only door for the vehicles carrying new prisoners is a well-disguised gate build into the very concrete of the wall. If we're going to get the people we need to join our ranks, we need to break inside, disable all of the security systems, including the backup generators in order to kill all the power, and break our way out. Even with the bracelets strengthening our Quirks, it's going to be a very hard objective we have before us."
The more Vukodlak described the security detail of this prison, the more apprehension he could see reflected in Twice and Himiko's eyes, even despite her trying to keep smiling. All the while, Tomura simply looked to the floor in pensive thought, letting it all sink in so he could think. Finally, though, Twice just broke the silence: "So if there aren't any roads into this place and it extends underground, are you suggesting we just burrow our ways into an even deeper hole to go under the walls, or do we steal a plane or something and drop down like death from above? Both those plans sound awesome, but would they even work?"
Himiko clearly looked like she wanted to keep faith in her teacher's capabilities, but there was no denying Twice's worries on her part, either. This was why it confused them both so much that, even despite what he had told them, Vukodlak looked completely unperturbed. "We won't have to do any of those things, because I already figured out a way back inside from when I was being held there. Toga-san, close your eyes and focus on the feeling beneath your feet. The time should be just about right; we're close to nightfall right now, so tell me what you feel."
Realizing she was being given another test to prove how much she'd retained from yet more sensory training, Himiko sat up straight, closed her eyes, took a deep breath and tried to apply all her focus to her feet, right down to the tips of her toes and the soles. At first, she felt nothing, and the way her face was just barely grimacing showed as much…until she suddenly began to pick up the faintest vibration emanating from the ground beneath her feet. It wasn't anything like a micro-earthquake or even a tremor, it was the kind of vibration that could only be generated by something manmade, and something that clearly wasn't a constant, as after a few prolonged seconds, the vibration stopped.
When her yellow eyes opened and a fanged smile of realization flashed across her face, Vukodlak actually gave her an approving smile and nod of his own, to her even greater delight, and the curiosity of Tomura and Twice. "That's right. In my time inside that prison, as I applied nearly all my time to enhancing my senses outside my eyesight through pure training, I came to discover that very same temporary vibration from under the ground, happening at specific intervals throughout the day, every single day. I knew it wasn't their means of bringing in new prisoners; that's the only occasion they ever use surface vehicles for.
"No, when my hearing became even better, to the point it is what it is now, and I could make out the voices those vibrations came with through the vents in even the faintest echoes, I came to realize: the prison has its own personal underground subway train for transporting its guards from shift to shift between the prison itself and this town. What Toga-san just felt would be the train taking the afternoon shift guards home, and waiting for the night shift guards to file in so it can take them to the prison. That subway is going to be our means of getting inside."
Himiko looked like she was about to genuinely start gushing with yet more fangirl mannerisms at her mentor once again presenting another immediate solution, but Tomura wasn't about to let her, as he instead spoke up: "Alright, so we have a way in, but the fact this train is specifically for the guards of this prison automatically makes it impossible for us to blend in, even with your Disguising Quirk. You don't have a Quirk that can change the languages we speak, so even if we were to slip in, the rest of our inability to speak with the others would give us away immediately. Even if we were to somehow avoid all of those things, there's no doubt that the underground entrance to the prison would be just as heavily secured against intruders as the surface level. We can't simply use the bracelets recklessly, or else we could end up going through all of them before we know it, then we'd be in really deep shit."
Vukodlak nodding in agreement with everything Tomura was saying left Himiko and Twice visibly unsettled as to just what exactly they were going to do now, until he suddenly reached into his bag and pulled out one of the plastic explosive charges. "I know I said we needed to hang onto these as much as possible until we got to our ultimate destination in Moscow, but for this instance, we'll need to use some in order to clear out the security at the entrance, as well as to knock out the power. These things are powerful enough to shake the foundation that much, especially if we use one for each of us altogether. Besides, one of the Villains I have in mind will more than make up for four sacrificed explosive charges for what we need to do later.
"The way I see it as things stand, the plan is that we get into the tunnel for the train through the sewers, fight our way into the train itself, set up the charges, and send it running and detonating right into the entrance, and it should buy us more than enough of an initial advantage that we can take out the power entirely; thus allowing all the inmates to get out, and from there we can grab the other Villains we'll need and make our escape. It's going to be risky the whole way through, but I know that as long as we stay alert and stay together, we can pull this off."
Suddenly, Twice shot up from his own seat, removing his disguise from his face so Vukodlak could see the worrisome doubt through his mask. "And what makes you so sure these Villains you have in mind would help us, and not just immediately try to kill us? You say they've got chips on their shoulders against that Tunguska guy and all his old dead friends; but isn't the whole reason we're out here in these cold wet marshy dumps BECAUSE I was dumb enough to trust another Villain who wasn't one of us? You suddenly want to take that risk with a whole bunch of them?"
Vukodlak didn't actually answer immediately this time, instead letting out a regretful sigh as he glanced towards a nearby window in thought. "You're right, Twice-san; I am taking a large risk with this. I even said myself that Villains who aren't already in specific groups don't tend to do well with new ones, just like Villain groups don't typically welcome new blood. The League accepting me, and my accepting you lot, was really a shot in the dark. It's true that, with the entire country having rejected Heroes, there's virtually nothing to stop these Villains from simply going off on their own as soon as they're free and leaving us high and dry.
"But be that as it may, it's still the best shot we have at gaining everything we need from under the Kremlin in the end, and it's a shot we need to be willing to take. You all know by now how persuasive I can really be when it comes to getting people to see things my way. Look how far it got us out in these parts already. I'm only asking you all to give me that little bit of trust for this much longer. If it turns out it won't work out, I'll eliminate the problem myself, and we'll simply think of something else. I know working together; we could be able to accomplish that at least."
Like that, Himiko was suddenly grabbing anxiously onto Twice's arm, hopping up and down excitedly as he looked to her confusedly. "C'mon, Jin, how can you say no to that, huh? We got this far and have been having all kinds of fun! Are you really not gonna wanna join on this, too? We could be sooo much tougher when this is over; don't you wanna be able to help us get there?"
Twice now looked genuinely torn between his own sporadic sense of self-preservation, and his desire to keep helping the comrades he still had. However, in the end, it would once again have to be up to Tomura to make the final decision, as once more, all eyes were upon him as he took in the worries and considerations of his followers.
"Twice-san is right: we're taking a great risk by doing this for a bunch of other Villains the rest of us don't know from a hole in the ground. After what happened with Overhaul last time, I didn't even want to entertain the idea of recruiting other strangers into the League, be it temporary or otherwise.
"However, Vukodlak-san is also right. We need to grow in terms of strength and resources so that we may build ourselves even more. If this is the best way we can obtain that future for ourselves, then as long as we, as representatives of the League of Villains, stick together; then we give it every shot we have." As soon as Tomura explained all of this, his face momentarily winced with an acute pain; grabbing onto his forehead.
"Besides, that damn voice has been growing louder recently, and if this can make us get to Moscow faster so I can finally figure out who or what the hell it is, and either take it back with us, or destroy it…then I'm willing to try whatever we have to. Can you both say the same?"
Himiko didn't even hesitate to answer with pumping fists and a glowing smile stretching across her face: "I'm with you all the way, Tomuraaa, Sensei! Let's kick some butt and get our new best buddies out!"
Following her lead, and the impassionate nature of Tomura's words, Twice ultimately acquiesced as well, giving their leader an exaggerated but genuinely expressed salute of loyalty. In the end, Vukodlak even kept his hands hanging at his sides in a show of non-hostility, giving Tomura a thankful nod and the faintest smile.
With that, the small detachment from the League of Villains knew their latest mission, and was soon on the move down the nearest manhole out of plain sight they could find; soon finding themselves in pitch subterranean blackness.
As the minutes passed while they continued to traverse the unpleasantly dank cold darkness, it inevitably fell to Vukodlak to lead the way while Tomura and Twice's eyes were adjusting to being able to see in it at all. At the same time, Himiko actually decided to take her own initiative by following her mentor's advice and closing her eyes the whole way, simply following the sounds of their footsteps, and trying to focus her sense of touch and her ears beyond that as well.
Within minutes, Vukodlak came to a sudden stop, nearly making his three allies collide into him, but before any of them could ask what he thought he was doing, he turned back. "Do any of you feel it, too?"
"I do, Sensei! That vibration's coming back!" Himiko immediately exclaimed with excitement, having been able to pick up the faintest shaking under her feet and against her fingertips as she'd run it along the wall just to be thorough.
"And can you figure out which direction it's coming from, Toga-san?" Vukodlak immediately asked, already starting to smile at how much her other senses had developed thus far.
For a few moments she was silent, but just as the sound to accompany that vibration began to even reach Tomura and Twice's ears; she practically snapped with the force of realization. "There's a small tunnel just a tiny ways up ahead to the left! The sound is a little louder down that way than it is here! That's gotta lead to the subway tunnel, right? Did I get it right, Sensei?!"
The fact that Vukodlak wasn't immediately chastising her for getting it wrong, and was instead now ushering them all after him down said tunnel, was all the answer Himiko needed, as she started squealing and giggling ecstatically to herself as she followed her partners down the side tunnel.
Just as she'd said, the noise was indeed getting progressively louder, and more importantly, clearer the further down they went, and within a minute, they found themselves standing before a small steel maintenance door, which Tomura made quick work of once he planted his hand against it and let it disintegrate into rust, thus allowing them full access to the tunnel.
The sound of a moving train was loud enough to where it was now clear the subway would be upon them in less than a minute. Looking up and down the tunnel, Vukodlak hurriedly looked back to his fellows. "Alright, the train isn't going too fast, otherwise that noise would be much louder. We'll be able to grab on and force our way inside, but we won't have much time to clear the whole thing out and plant the explosives before we'd have to bail out."
"I can take care of that no problem, Vukodlak-san!" Twice suddenly proclaimed, and before their eyes, he just as quickly began to start focusing his Quirk, and upon taking a step forward and leaving another human-shaped and forming black blotch in his wake, his fellow Villains soon found themselves being joined by a perfect clone of Dabi, and just at that moment, the beginning flash of the train headlights filled the tunnel; with the group just lucky enough to not be in its immediate range thanks to still being within the doorway.
"Alright, this is our one shot! Stay close to me! These guards are on their way to work, so they won't have their issued equipment yet, and that gives us a huge advantage!" There was no further time to express his reservations about using a clone with Dabi's Quirk, or elaborate on how they were to do this. As such, the moment Vukodlak peeked out the doorway and saw the approaching end of the train, he immediately came rushing out, prompting Tomura, Twice, his Dabi clone and Himiko to immediately follow after him; all four of them out in the tunnel just as Vukodlak leapt up and dug his claws into the side of the train's rear car.
Without hesitation, he tore the lock and handle from the rear door, and from that moment it was nonstop as he and all his fellow Villains similarly leapt into the train and proceeded to rip, slice, burn and decay every single person that stood between them and the front of the train car without any hesitation or stopping to even catch their breath.
Once they reached the door to the second and last train car, Twice had his Dabi clone move to the front of the group; his hands still ignited in blue flames. The moment Vukodlak threw the connecting doors open, the bunch of civilian-dressed prison guards (who had visibly been preparing themselves for a fight just from the way they were standing and all gathered at the other end of the door) instantly were engulfed in the sky blue inferno that swept from one end of the train car to the next; none of them even having the chance to scream before the inhuman heat reduced them all to barely human-shaped piles of ashes.
From there, as the flames died down, Tomura rushed for the cockpit of the train, where the conductor was sitting in a huddled ball, trembling and pale with horror. However, even such a pitiful sight as this meant nothing to him, as he simply grabbed the shivering man by the head and reduced him to yet another pile of dust within seconds. After that, with the train now running without a driver, and all their potential attackers taken out, it was now time for them to make their grand entrance, as each of the four real Villains took out the single plastic explosive charges they had taken with them, and planted them at key points around the front train car.
After that, and once Vukodlak had stuck four more detonation charges into each one and tied them together with a spool of copper wire, he proceeded to hit the acceleration on the train to its highest limit, and after about a minute of simply waiting for the train to cross the majority distance at this speed, he ushered his fellow Villains to jump out the back with him. "We have to move! These charges are gonna explode the moment the train hits the entrance station in a few seconds, and from there is where we'll run in ourselves!"
With that, the Villains proceeded to jump out the back door of the train from whence they had come in. Tomura and Twice were thankfully smart enough to roll upon landing, while Vukodlak had to pretty much hold onto Himiko as he leapt and rolled, leaving both their heads ringing, but thankfully none the worse for wear otherwise.
As soon as they were all back on their feet and he had made sure Himiko wasn't too badly hurt with a simple glancing over, Vukodlak immediately took off into a sprint after the train, once more urging the others to follow suit. The ball was now officially rolling in their favor, and they couldn't slow down for a moment if they wanted this plan to work.
"How can you be so sure that train exploding will be able to kill the power to the whole prison?" Twice suddenly asked once they started turning what Vukodlak said was the last turn before the entry station.
Just before Vukodlak could give his answer of having been able to hear the hum of said generator when listening for the train itself all those years ago, the entire tunnel suddenly echoed and shook with a deafening BKOOOOM! The moment the sound thundered past them and they could start to see the approaching glow of the fireball from the explosion, Vukodlak immediately grabbed Twice, Tomura and Himiko, and after forcefully pulling them close to himself, he hurriedly threw his hands around and above their little spot, creating a reinforced Air Shield dome around them, just as the fires came rushing down and past them. Thanks to Vukodlak's quick thinking, the four Villains managed to emerge unscathed once the fire had run its course, even if Twice's Dabi clone ended up being incinerated into nothing.
With that, Vukodlak deactivated the Air Shield and hurried onward, with the others following close, even as Twice started focusing to try and make more clones behind himself of all of them, unwilling to just assume the security was already completely taken care of.
And his judgment ended up proving right, for as the Villains hurried their way through the flaming rubble of the prison entrance station, they were quickly met with the sound of prison sirens echoing all around, alongside emergency lights flaring, and even emergency intercom announcements that Twice, Tomura and Himiko could only naturally assume were warning of either an attack or a jailbreak.
The moment they managed to get through the obliteration of the entrance station and through the now ruined guard sector, they found themselves stepping out into one of the major halls that had to be the interconnecting network between the different wings of the prison, including the sub-levels and ultimately the surface level.
However, the moment they stepped out, Vukodlak and Himiko's ears picked up a distinct mechanical whirring sound, and just a second before his student could; the veteran Villain hurriedly threw his hands all around where they stood in this intersection, erecting an Air Shield all around their current position, just in time for a number of small turrets to suddenly emerge from the walls of the halls at both their sides, which immediately started opening fire with large-caliber live ammunition. The bullets were hammering relentlessly at the shields, which thankfully bought enough time for the Villains to double back the way they had come so they were now out of the line of sight of these security measures.
Of course, that did nothing to quell Twice and Himiko's anxiety as their eyes fell upon Vukodlak questioningly. "What the hell, man?! I thought you said that explosion would kill all the power to this place?!"
"Yeah; what are we supposed to do now, Sensei?! Twice could make all kinds of clones, and they'll just get turned into Swiss cheese with the rest of us!" However, Vukodlak was once again managing to keep himself composed as he thought about their current circumstances.
"It's alright, everyone; we're not down and out of luck just yet! Clearly the prison staff decided to move their secondary power source elsewhere. I thought the hum of electricity in this portion of the building was quieter than it was last time. There's still a way we can figure out where the backup generator is, because we won't be able to get the inmates out without doing so, but we need to get rid of those turrets first!"
"Not a problem!" Twice suddenly proclaimed, and as if that were his command, his newest clone of Dabi suddenly leapt over the boundary of the Air Shield Vukodlak was blocking their portion of the intersection with, and as soon as his feet touched the ground, he threw both hands out to his sides and twin plumes of blue fire erupted from his palms, roaring down both halls and melting the turrets down within a matter of seconds, finally clearing both ways for them.
Recalling his shield, Vukodlak scanned the halls until he could spot what looked like printed directions upon the scorched concrete and steel walls, with a nifty blueprint layout of the prison floors right nearby on the same wall; no doubt put there for the new security hires to know exactly what was where. "Here, this is perfect. We can't afford to stay here long, so if we're gonna make the most of this, we're going to need to split up to take care of things, primarily the power and freeing the inmates."
Looking the layout over while ignoring the writing that was plain gibberish in his eyes; Tomura spoke up: "This place is like a maze, and with the security systems still running and the guards themselves now moving in full force, it's not going to be easy."
As Himiko began looking the directions over herself, a devious smile spread across her face. "Yeah, but if we kill the power, it will be. Tomura, you and some of Jin's clones could head over to the guard station or the armory and destroy all of it with your Quirk while Jin himself and I can head across the prison to that room on the bottom floor; I think that's where the backup generator might be."
All of her fellow Villains looked back at Himiko with visibly surprised expressions, and when locking gazes with Vukodlak, she gave her teacher a grateful wink and smile. "What? I was listening to the language lessons too, Sensei! I'm pretty sure I'm reading all that stuff right at least, aren't I? Please say yes, I was trying really hard!"
Looking to the map itself, Vukodlak grinned, much to his student's delight. "Indeed you were, Toga-san. Indeed you were. Luckily for us, there's a good distance before we'd have to split up to go for our objectives, since I know where the Villains I've got in mind are being held. So until we get to this specific intersection leading to the sub-levels and the first floor on the surface, we stick together and take out anything that moves."
"Hell yeah! It's us against this whole damn place; totally outgunned and outnumbered, not standing a chance! We're gonna wipe the floor with 'em!" Twice began prematurely celebrating as he ordered his gathered clones of Vukodlak, Himiko, Dabi and Tomura forward down the first hallway he could see, just before Vukodlak forcefully turned his head to see they themselves were going down the other hall instead.
Even as they followed the specific directions they had memorized from the map to the fated intersection, every step of the way was lined with much of the same security protocols he had warned his comrades of. However, with the combination of Tomura's Quirk, alongside those of Twice's numerous clones with their duplicated Quirks (in the instances they weren't simply being used as human shields or target practice at blind corners), nothing had the chance to even remotely do them any damage, nor did any of the guards quick and brave enough to try and intercept them, instead being cut down by Vukodlak's claws and Himiko's knives.
After several minutes of this process, fighting their way for every corner, they eventually found themselves at the intersection, with the hall continuing on ahead, a set of stairs heading upwards to their left, and a set of stairs descending down to their right. From upstairs, alongside the ringing alarms and intercom alerts was the roaring wall of noise of numerous shouting inmates and guards.
"Alright. Twice-san, your clones can cover my back on my way up. You all head downstairs to kill the power and get the Villains we're recruiting. I'll cave this hall in on both sides so the guards coming from the armory can't get the drop on either of us." As Tomura gave his followers their instructions, he already began to plant his hands on the walls of the same hall in both directions, spreading his decaying touch down their lengths until the ceilings ultimately caved in, effectively sealing this former intersection into a single passageway.
"Tomura-san, even with all the clones guarding you; you know the security and guard presence up there is going to be far more than what we've already been dealing with, right?" Vukodlak pointed out with a concerned glint in his eyes, with Himiko quick to echo: "Yeah, what are we supposed to do if you end up getting yourself blown to bits up there?"
At that, the white-haired Villain suddenly pulled out the empowering bracelet he'd already been using up to this point, upon which three red dots that signified three more uses were visible. "If it comes down to it, I can use these to bring this entire place down before they get a chance to. You all just make sure you got the people we came for before I do."
It was increasingly clear that this wasn't up for debate, this was Tomura giving them direct orders, and his actions were going to help keep the heat off their backs while following them. And so, Vukodlak gave an accepting nod before ushering Himiko and a similarly reluctant Twice along; his previously made clones loyally sticking with Tomura as he ascended the stairs. At the same time, Twice took care to start focusing and making yet more clones of themselves for his own little group as the descended further and further down; his Dabi and Tomura clones breaking off at the door of each sub-level they passed in order to lay waste to whatever security personnel were there while the Villain trio continued following their memorized directions.
Before long, they finally found themselves at the second-to-last floor of the subterranean section of the prison, where Vukodlak finally came to a stop, prompting Himiko, Twice and his newest batch of protective clones to do the same, looking back. "I would be going down there with you; since there's no doubt security will want to protect the generator with everything they've got. But we can't afford to miss these people once the power goes down."
Despite his warning, Himiko's smile was as confident as could be. "We won't let you down, Sensei! With Jin and his awesome clones with me, we got this down!"
"That's right! Don't be putting my Quirk and my clones down for the count yet! That's my job!" Twice echoed before being excitedly pulled down the stairs by his sleeve as Himiko practically leapt all the way down to get the job done; with all his clones loyally following along, even despite their respective resentful murmuring at their creator's words.
As soon as they were all out of sight, Vukodlak had his ear flush to the door. He could already hear the sound of numerous panicked footsteps rushing down his way. Thusly, he had his foot reeled back and at the ready as the footsteps grew louder. As soon as the time was right, he would be bringing the fight right to them at the moment they least expected it; all the while silently expressing hope and confidence alike in his comrades' respective success.
A few floors up, Tomura had stepped out into a complete war zone. In a way, that had actually worked to his advantage. As it turned out, the single moment in which the power had gone out after the initial explosion had been all some of the inmates needed to use their Quirks to break their way out of their cells, and with that freedom, they were now waging absolute chaos on the prison floors, destroying as many security placements as they could reach, and annihilating whatever guards were unlucky enough to get caught in their sights.
However, that didn't mean that the guards and their security system were simply sitting back and folding, either. By the time Tomura had gotten up this way, already a good number of the inmates had either been gunned down, or restrained by the security systems. Fortunately for him, the fact that even this many of the prisoners had gotten out had been enough to keep most of the guards from noticing his arrival alongside his encirclement of protecting clones.
The moment he could hear several voices shouting with panic in Russian, that seemed to be all it took to send the clones themselves on the offensive as well, as several different Dabis began sending multiple columns of fire all across the prisoner floors and into the air, incinerating several guards and restrained inmates, and forcing the rest further and further back. At the same time, a few Vukodlak clones even thought to mount several Air Shields around their gathering in order to block the mixtures of bullets, stun rounds, nets and tranquilizer rounds.
That was all the time bought that Tomura needed, as taking in the sheer scale and overall chaos that was erupting all around him, he proceeded to clasp the empowering bracelet to his wrist; sucking in a breath through his teeth as he felt that pinprick sensation, and the flowing of their mysterious compound rushing through his veins at the speed of light. And with that, he could once again hear the voice echoing in his head:
"Yes, Tomura Shigaraki! This is your moment to let the world know you have arrived! Show the powered people of old and the frightened lambs alike the scale of the power you already possess! Let it be a testament to where you were, before I can help you ascend closer to your fullest potential! Show them all just who you are!"
At that very moment that Tomura was about to unleash this buildup of his enhanced power across the entire prison block, the lights all around suddenly went pitch black; and just as quickly did the alarms and intercom suddenly go dead, and the security build-ins all simultaneously shut down, and every last one of the remaining shut cell doors opened up in unison, inspiring another thunderous cheer of freedom from the rest of the immediately present inmates as they came charging out to make their run for it.
While Tomura was smiling in satisfaction to himself at the realization that Himiko and Twice had managed to succeed in their mission; outward he was completely indifferent to what was changing all around him, as his body instinctively fired off the bulk of his Decay from his extended hands all at once, sending their rippling and cracking waves of pure death energy tearing through reinforced steel, glass and stone alike; obliterating every inmate and guard unlucky enough to get in the way of any of them, and ultimately disintegrating more than half of the building in no more than a minute. The air was filled with the echoing terrified and furious cries of all those caught in the crossfire while Tomura simply stood tall and proud in the wake of all this instantaneous destruction. This was only the third time he'd enhanced his Quirk like this, but already he found himself growing more and more enraptured by it; especially the thought of the voice in his head actually being on the level and having the capability to give him power even greater than this, on top of everything All For One was still promising to help him achieve.
With both those things promising him so much more when he was already this high up in terms of sheer power; Tomura Shigaraki genuinely felt like the luckiest person alive; a complete diametric shift from the place was once utterly trapped in, although that felt like a literal lifetime ago now.
Down in the bottom-most level of the prison, the one that Himiko could recognize had the word for 'backup power' stenciled on the walls; it was almost as though Vukodlak were a damn psychic as to just what was going to be waiting for her, Twice and their own personal contingency of his clones. At least, this was what they both would've thought if the foreign Villain hadn't outright told them he'd been a prisoner here before.
Thank to her sensory training since they'd gotten into Russia, Himiko had found her hearing and her overall ability to navigate in the dark with just her ears had grown so much stronger than she'd thought possible. Granted, the red emergency lights glowing down this way didn't make seeing a problem, but she could still hear the sheer number of guards and other prison staff scrambling about for places to take cover through the door.
"Aww, that's so fun! They want to try and play hide and seek for keeps," she squealed, holding her balled up hands (with knives still in her grips) to her rosy cheeks, while Twice was already stacking up at the door with his clones, motioning for several of the Dabi ones to get their fires ready; ignoring their respective answers telling him to screw off.
"Stand back, Toga-chan! Time for the house guests to make themselves at home!" As soon as he said this, the few Vukodlak clones simultaneously kicked the door down and created two adjoining Air Shields over the doorway; just in time for them to be met by a barrage of heavy gunfire, with every single round pounding into the invisible walls harmlessly until they had all run through their present clips, only to see their bullets flattened and hanging harmlessly in mid-air, before the Air Shields were recalled and they came clattering listlessly to the floor.
The screams that followed were like music to Himiko's ears as the Dabi clones let loose with a colossal explosion of blue flames, tearing through the oxygen of the room ahead, incinerating multiple of the guards and desperate staff members huddled inside.
Once the blaze had run its course, and the clones stepped aside to allow Himiko and Twice inside, not only could she see the numerous piles of ashes and charred black bones scattered across the floor, but her ears could even pick up the sound of a couple shivering and terrified gasps and breaths coming from the other side of the room. There weren't any illuminated exit signs of doors from what she could see in this deep red light, so there was no other way for whatever survivors there were to possibly run.
Of course, while she was completely focused on finding whoever was still in here, smiling all the while; Twice quickly spotted the huge cylindrical metal mass flush to the opposite wall that was still chugging and humming along with pronounced desperation. "Looks like we found our big mother lode of power at last! Now how the hell are we supposed to destroy this thing? It looks solid as a big metal lump of rock!"
"How about you try actually using us like you have been, dumbass?" One of the Dabi clones mouthed off almost instantly, and as soon as Twice looked back angrily to his bunch of standing creations, he immediately realized how needless his confusion and desperation for ideas had ultimately been. "Yeah, right, of course. Well, don't just stand there, you buncha lazy assholes! Destroy this thing so we can get out of here!"
"Aww, can't we wait just a little longer, Jin? I still got some friends to make!" Himiko suddenly protested, and when Twice looked her way, he saw the blonde twin-tailed girl squatting in front of a corner of the room where, hiding behind some steel barrels, were a couple of men who looked nowhere near as tough as the guards up to this point had been. Judging by their clothes, they looked to be nothing more than engineers, especially by their oil and grease-stained hands.
They both looked notably bloody as well; doubtless from having gotten caught just in the periphery of his Dabi clones' combined fire attacks. One of the two men looked pretty badly burned and unable to move, while the other one looked like he was already long since past the point of wetting himself.
However, the sight of their combined fear and pain had Himiko's smile only warm up that much more as she kept her cheeks resting in her open hands, looking the especially terrified one right in the eye. "It's so funny how even adults can look so cute and huggable when they're scared!" [[Aren't you Russian guys supposed to be all big, manly and tough?]]
Both the terrified engineer and Twice had to do a visible double take once Himiko suddenly started addressing him in mostly decently put-together Russian; the malicious intent lurking behind her bubbly voice making her suddenly adopting this completely different language that much more frightening a juxtaposition.
[[Hey, hey, I don't wanna have to kill you if I don't have to, y'know. I just wanna make friends as much as I can; I love making friends, don't you? If we could be friends, I could let you go. Would you want that, would you?]]
The man before her, clearly quite young from the looks of him; clearly had no idea what to make of this bizarre young girl's sudden shift in demeanor, unable to decide if she was being genuine or simply toying with him. However, the rate at which his heart was racing, alongside his desperation to try and preserve his own life from this hellish nightmare, had him ultimately start nodding his head frantically; making Himiko squeal and start rocking her squatting body back and forth with the biggest fanged smile. [[Yay! We're friends after all! That makes me so happy!]]
As Himiko kept giggling to herself, and Twice was impatiently approaching her from behind in an attempt to get her head back in the game, the trembling young man let out a shaky mix between a sigh and frightened weeping, overwhelmingly relieved that he seemed to have told this terrifying young girl what she wanted to hear.
SHUK!
In the blink of an eye, she suddenly sank her connected syringe into the injured man's side, and as his eyes widened with shock; Himiko looked right back into his eyes, smiling just as much as ever. [[Since we're friends…could you please bleed more for me? Just a little bit? I can even give you just a little kiss to suck some up.]]
With another sing-song and euphoric chanting of "Chyuu, chyuu," Himiko proceeded to suck more and more of her newest victim's blood as her yellow eyes rolled back in ecstasy; all while the man himself felt his life drain with every single suck, already too weak to even try and let out a cry for help.
While Himiko was busy sucking away his blood, she was too wrapped up in the moment to notice that the other more injured man had regained consciousness just enough to try and lift the hand that was holding onto a single Makarov pistol this entire time, and aimed it straight at her head.
THWIPP!
With his blurring eyesight focused solely on the vampire-like young girl in front of him, the last remaining survivor in the basement didn't notice the ninja-esque Villain right behind her instantly entangling his wrist in a concealed roll of measuring tape, forcing his hand and weapon away from her head.
With surprising swiftness for a Villain like himself, Twice immediately wrangled the bloodier man away from Himiko, and with his own eyes seeing nothing but red at the sight of another of his comrades in mortal danger, he proceeded to wrap his measuring tape tight around his neck as he got behind his back. This wasn't his desire to get measurements for another cloning subject this time; this was him stepping in and getting his hands dirty for the sake of the only allies he had, and that desire drove him to exude a physical strength he never showed, as he kept pulling on both ends of the tape with everything he had, deafening himself to the man's desperate and gurgled groans to try and beg for mercy.
In the end, though, it was all for not, as in the end, Twice was heaving for breath as he stood over his strangled victim, and Himiko bounced right back onto her feet with a smile as bright as the sun as she shook her hips, listening to the swishing sound of another full tank of new blood on her back. Once she saw the second body now lying between them; her yellow eyes looked at Twice, clearly impressed. "Wow, Jin; way to totally step in and save the pretty maiden like that! I'm super duper flattered! I owe you big time!"
Twice was blushing like mad with embarrassment under his mask, scratching at the back of his head as he roughly cleared his throat and tried to turn his attention back to his clones that were all still visibly waiting, albeit impatiently.
"You don't owe me anything; helping our allies is just what those who are human do, you know! Now c'mon, the others will be waiting for us! We're getting out of here on our own if we have to! You guys destroy the generator!" Twice grabbed tight onto Himiko's sleeve and immediately began running for the door they had come through, and as soon as he gave his last order to his clones, he let the resulting adrenaline drive himself even faster, as within moments, the air was filled with the deafening boom of the backup generator to the entire prison exploding; plunging the entire facility into complete darkness to match the nighttime of the outside as the whole place shook with a major shockwave that knocked Twice and Himiko onto their faces once they reached the second floor up from the basement level.
Once they both got on their feet again, the deafening sound of the generator exploding was just as quickly followed by a much greater devastating boom; this time coming from up above. However, knowing just where each other was, there was no confusion on their parts as to just what was happening now.
"Wow, Tomura sounds like he's really enjoying himself. I sure hope he doesn't end up burying us down here for it, though! I don't wanna go hungry buried under a bunch of boring cold concrete!" Himiko mused as Twice continued desperately pulling her along, focusing once again on trying to make as many backup clones as he could to help them with whatever kind of fight was waiting for them up above; all while she was serving as their eyes in this total darkness.
"Well, we won't have to worry if we hurry, right?! C'mon, let's get back to the others!" However, as outwardly confident as Twice was trying to be that their comrades would be patiently awaiting them amid the chaos up above, he and Himiko alike were both silently hoping that the others' missions were proving as successful as theirs did.
Mere minutes ago, Vukodlak was standing triumphant over two halls worth of prison guard in their full Quirk-attuned riot gear, leaving behind numerous bloodied bodies in his wake as he struggled to catch his breath. Were they fighting in far more open settings instead of these narrow hallways, this fight wouldn't have wiped him out as much as it had. That wasn't to say he didn't have that much more fight left in him, of course. If anything, the overwhelming scents of multiple different bloods painting the hall was downright intoxicating, driving Vukodlak with even greater bloodlust to match his sense of determination, especially since he knew behind the door at this final corner were the people he was hoping most to recover out of this insane assault of theirs.
With his chest swelling with anticipation, and cracking all his knuckles and the joints in his neck in preparation for another potential fight, Vukodlak practically drove his foot through the reinforced steel door; knocking it off one of its hinges and holding his hands and claws open, at the ready for another slaughter…
…only to be met by the sight of another hall that was not only painted in blood and decorated with dead guards, but also looked to be nearly half demolished with scorch marks and blast craters in the floor, walls and even the ceiling in some places.
And the only people who were still standing in this hall, just as there were only three cell doors lining the entirety of the hall with their doors open; were three middle-aged adult figures in matching torn and ravaged prisoner jumpsuits. Just as they all noticed the sudden arrival of a fourth stranger to this little scene of theirs, did Vukodlak himself feel the most bizarre sense of apprehensive nostalgia at the sight of their faces. They were a set of familiar faces, even if the last time they had met, they weren't exactly on the same side.
Standing furthest at the back of this motley trio was a middle aged man with a bald head, fierce fiery orange eyes, and a jagged black mustache with its ends puffed out, as though to resemble tiny explosions at the ends of lit fuses.
In the middle stood another scrawnier middle-aged-looking man with short wavy light blue hair and eyes as wide, pitch black and circular, as though resembling those of a shark, before they rolled over to reveal a normal-looking pair of lime-green irises. Such a comparison for his black eyes was appropriate, as with his mouth open, he clearly had a mouth full of rows of razor sharp teeth just like that of a shark as well. To further complete the image, his hands and feet were visibly webbed between their digits, and his whole length of his back was lined with a series of small fins; again like those of sharks, but also giving his back a look similar to the teeth of a chainsaw.
And finally, standing at the end of this now apprehensive-looking trio, was a middle-aged woman with skin the same pale color of a birch tree, with similar dark spots lining her arms. Her fierce and narrow eyes were a deep shade of earthy brown, but easily the most eye-catching feature of hers, was the fact that her long hair that ran down to the base of her back, was made up of long black and white quills, like that of a porcupine; every single one looking clearly sharp enough to slice, rip, tear and stab through anything that stood in their way, even from a distance.
Vukodlak knew these three specific Villains particularly well. They had been long-time nemeses of certain members of the New Bogatyrs; Svyatogor, Volga and Gamayun respectively. On any remaining official government paperwork, they were respectively known as Ivan Voyevodovich (the bald mustachioed man), Pavel Shostakov (the shark-man), and Lyubava Ignasvili (the quill-haired woman). However, he knew them best as thus:
[[Bombardment; I'm surprised to see you're already out. Riptide, Quiller…long, long time no see.]]
Despite the fake attempt at pleasantry, Vukodlak could clearly see the lack of recognition on any of their faces; even if the sound of his voice had the lone female Villain among them looking quite curious.
That was when the remembrance hit that, in the time since he had last seen these people, he'd aged so much. Thus, he proceeded to hurriedly pull one of his disguising cloths from his pocket and affixed it to his face. It was the veil he knew to possess his face from all the way back when he had been foolish enough to be taken and accepted into the New Bogatyrs. The Vukodlak (or White Wolf back then) of old now stood before the three new Villains, and now he could see the remembrance instantly register between them.
[[Holy shit…Vukodlak? Is that seriously you?]] The shark-like man known as Pavel or Riptide was the first to finally speak; voicing complete disbelief that he was looking upon the man who fell from the lofty position of being the sidekick of Tunguska himself in these circumstances.
The woman known as Lyubava, who took her Villain name from her Quill Quirk and the English word 'killer,' simply looked at the overall getup their sudden visitor was wearing. [[You say Vukodlak, but I only ever knew this one as White Wolf, back when he was running with those damn Bogatyrs. I'd heard rumors you'd cracked and gone back to being a Villain all those years ago while I was rotting away in here…but silly me, I didn't believe it.]]
The bald-headed man known as Bombardment, however, was simply looking upon this face from ages past with an especially suspicious eye. [[What do you mean you're surprised I got out, Vukodlak? You say that as though you were actually expecting to see me. You crafty little asshole, are you saying you're the one responsible for this nifty little breakout? You got lucky and were taken out of here to be the new government's fetching dog, and you suddenly come back here after all these years and pull this shit? Why?]]
Vukodlak couldn't necessarily say he was surprised by this reception. After all, he'd been there to help put away two of these three Villains back in his short-lived Hero days. It was only natural they would have an axe to grind with him as much as any actual Hero. It was honestly a stroke of good luck they'd been considered too dangerous for general population during his time as a prisoner here, otherwise he might not have even lived long enough to find himself in such an awkward position as this.
In fact, there was a fraction of a chance he might not have even lived long enough to see this plan in itself come to fruition, for after having seen the multiple quills sticking from the bodies of some of the guards at their feet, Vukodlak now found Quiller looking him over with a devious smile; reaching back behind her head and pulling out several more between her slender fingers, her eyes never leaving his.
[[Don't be so hasty, Bombardment. We play this right, we both just might get to sate some of that bad blood at last.]] Her voice was all but hissing with anticipation as she began to take the first step towards Vukodlak.
[[You know, I made sure to keep my ears open for anything and everything having to do with Gamayun after you helped her put me away. When I heard that she and that big lug, Tunguska, actually had a little baby boy of their own, there was nothing more I wanted than to make that little meat sack my own personal pin cushion and hear her wails of agony as I did so. Then, when I find out she was one of the countless others who got killed in the Siberian Flash, all I could do was mourn the fact I'd never get to see her suffer. But now that you're here, you just might be able to satisfy this need of mine after all.]]
One single muscle twitch, that was all the tell Vukodlak would need to avoid whatever attack Quiller was about to throw his way. If he could move fast enough, he might've even been able to incapacitate Bombardment and Riptide as well. Maybe then they would actually be willing to listen to reason, no matter how comparatively sociable Riptide was being compared to his own fellow Villains.
However, just as he began to take a step back while watching for any sign of sudden movement in the female Villain's wrist; his ears caught the unmistakable sound of more rapidly approaching footsteps coming from the way he had just come.
At that moment of distraction, Quiller finally threw both her hands forward with a razor sharp flick of her wrist, sending a multitude of deadly porcupine-like quills flying straight at Vukodlak; who using the very best of his sense of timing, let the tension in his body go completely slack, sending him falling flat onto his back, and allowing the quills to fly right past where he once stood harmlessly, and instead skewer the first few guards stepping into the open doorframe within seconds; even leaving one of them pinned suspended to the wall, dead before he even knew what had happened.
Now that the other Villains knew the guards had arrived, the initial resentments and hostilities had to be put on hold, as Bombardment immediately followed suit by grabbing one of the discarded batons off the floor from one of the dead guards, and of all the things he could have done, instead threw it forward through the open doorway, despite none of the remaining guards having even stepped out into the open and revealed themselves.
SNAP!
With a single echoing snap of Bombardment's fingers, the same harmless baton he had grabbed and thrown suddenly erupted into a deafening explosion, like that of a satchel charge, resulting in numerous shocked and agonized screams and death throes, as multiple other guards were blown away by the latest showcasing of the bald Villain's Quirk: the ability to turn anything he touched into a remote explosive at his will.
As smoke from the explosion filled the halls, Riptide proceeded to follow through once he could hear the wails and coughing of the few remaining guards; breaking into a mad sprint right past Vukodlak, and practically running along the walls as he rounded the corner, using his momentum to throw himself into a mid-air spin; moving with such insane speed that the webs on his hands and feet, alongside the fins on his back, managed to slice and rend through the few remaining guards within seconds, once more leaving the Villain gathering's little spot in the hall completely silent and undisturbed, save for yet more blood and bodies.
[[There was a hell of a lot more bodies out there besides our uninvited guests. Judging by all the blood on you, I'm guessing that was your handiwork, Vukodlak? If so, you certainly don't seem to have lost a step from what I hear you were like.]] Riptide mused after giving an impressed whistle as he rejoined his fellow Villains. He and Vukodlak had never met back in his earliest days as a Villain, but the shark-like Villain had definitely heard some of the stories from back then, and especially over the years after the Hunter of Heroes' release.
[[How about you stop kissing the man's ass, Riptide? I got questions that need answering!]] Bombardment's impatience was as clear as day, as he shoulder-checked his way past the comparatively more timid Riptide; nearly head-butting Vukodlak as the two stared each other down, and the bald explosive-based Villain spoke: [[You said you were surprised I managed to get out already; almost like you knew about the Zero Gravity harness these assholes had me held in so I couldn't use my Quirk to get out. You really think I wasn't keeping myself prepared enough so I could get out of it when even a brief power outage would happen, like the one I'm assuming you caused with that huge blast a few minutes ago?
[[Out of anywhere else in this whole goddamned prison, you came down here looking for us, after you've pretty much been free for all these years. That kind of thing isn't just some coincidence or something you do on a whim, not by a long shot. No, you came here for us for a reason, and I want to know what that reason is before I blast you to kingdom come. So what is it you're looking for, White Wolf?]]
Vukodlak could see that the confrontational Villain's need for an answer was at least enough to keep Quiller from running him through with another two handfuls of her quills, especially since she was standing right at his side, just waiting for the first sign of a go-ahead from the bald Villain.
However, even a situation like this wouldn't be enough to make him break the cool and collected demeanor he always exuded, as he looked them all dead in the eye. [[I came here with some recently-made allies of mine; members of another Villain organization situated all the way in Japan, as a matter of fact; because I want to recruit you three into our ranks so you can help us destroy a rival organization, and we can establish ourselves as the supreme Villain group in the country, and eventually, the world as a whole. There's a great many more details to go over, regarding exactly how I came across this lot, but I feel that can all be described to you with time once we get out of here.]]
Vukodlak was all but expecting the three Villains to need a bit of time to really let all that info sink in; but instead he was immediately answered with an uproarious laugh from all three of them, before Bombardment gave him a mocking grin. [[Wow, I didn't think you'd actually be so upfront and honest like that. You must really need our help then. But here's a question: why the hell should we be going out of our way to help a whole bunch of foreign Villains with their problems, even if it's for consolidating power? What does any of that have to do with us? What's to stop us from simply killing you here and going on our merry way while your little friends are left high and dry?]]
[[That's right, with all this country's potential Heroes having either been locked up, executed or fled for their lives, there's nothing stopping us from just going out there and wreaking havoc like we'd always wanted from the beginning. Give us a reason why we should help you at all.]] Quiller stated in full agreement, never loosening her grip on her quills.
Vukodlak could just feel the growing tension in the air. This was the one chance he was going to have to try and convince these people to join his and the League of Villains' cause. And so, with a deep and resolute breath, he stood tall and confident: [[Because no matter how you look at it, Villains like all of us are simply the ultimate result of the unfortunate and downtrodden being constantly tormented and walked all over by the powers that be, and the powered attack dogs they trick everyone else into rabidly praising and calling Heroes. Even before the Siberian Flash, that's how it was in this country, and even with the Heroes here now being gone, that societal fact remains the same, just as it does in every other country.
[[Wouldn't it be great to be able to band together and kick the teeth in of the very same oppressors that forced us into becoming what we are now to begin with? If you were to join up with us, not only would we then be moving on to break down the Kremlin in order to gather up all the capital and raw resources needed to make ourselves stronger than we could've ever been on our own, but we could then move on to lay waste to the entire Hero populations of one nation after another, until we finally find ourselves in a world where people like us are able to finally truly be free.
[[That is the ultimate goal of our group, the League of Villains. I know it all sounds naïve and lofty-headed, but these are not just the wishy-washy musings of children; I've seen these comrades of mine in action many a time at this point, and after years of hunting down desperate Quirked people who barely even qualified as potential Heroes, like one of the very same glorified lapdogs I've hated for so long; I can guarantee you all that their convictions are just as genuine as mine…and just as genuine as I know your own still are, deep down inside. Don't you want the chance to have the exercising of our power over Hero society the world over actually mean something? Because this is your chance to finally do just that.]]
BKOOM!
After a moment of heavy silence in the wake of Vukodlak's impassioned pitch, the entire area around them shook with a thunderous power that sent everything into a pure pitch blackness. While the three other Villains were momentarily caught by surprise, especially as a plume of dust instantly rushed down the hall; Vukodlak showed no outward sign of reaction or confusion. In fact, just the fact he was still so calm told the trio so much more, as Bombardment finally asked: [[That explosion just now…was that these allies of yours, this League of Villains?]]
As if to answer his question for him, another deafening rumbling began to sound out from above their heads this time, as the foundation of the prison itself began to shake, and the deafening pounding of steel and stone echoed down; the sound that could only have come from the very building itself breaking apart.
Even in this kind of darkness, Vukodlak could easily see the wondrous looks on their faces as they stared up at the ceiling, scarcely able to imagine the kind of power that could do this. When he could feel their gazes return to him as he continued standing confidently, he answered: [[And that little display of destruction up there, as well. If you want to see what real power and conviction together could be able to accomplish, you'd do best to take my offer.]]
Considering everything that was going on around them in this moment, the once completely defiant Bombardment let out a reluctant sigh, letting his visible hostility fade as he began to approach. [[Ah, what the hell? If nothing else, getting to kick the Kremlin's teeth in could be just the kind of fun I've needed all these years. But don't think I'm just gonna forget your part in me ending up here to begin with, comrade.]]
Following in his wake, Quiller finally let out an accepting sigh of her own. [[Nor I, for that matter. Just be glad I'm curious to see just what these friends of yours are really able to do.]]
Lastly, Riptide came to a hesitant stop once Vukodlak began to turn around to start making his way back up to the surface. [[I've tended to picture you as someone who recognizes quality of strength and power with the kind of experience you have, Vukodlak. If you speak so confidently about these foreign Villains you're rolling with, then consider my curiosity piqued.]]
For Vukodlak himself, any one of these responses from the three was more than enough for him to know his part of the mission had been a success, as had clearly been Himiko and Twice's parts. With the pure chaos that was echoing down from above, for all he knew, Tomura had already done his part far above and beyond what was expected.
Once they all finally emerged from the ruins of the main prison block into the chilling air of the outside that was the prison courtyard at night, Vukodlak could quickly spot Twice sending a dozen of his clones all around to try and intercept the guards, even incinerating the guard towers lining the massive concrete walls while the few that still remained standing tried to mow down whatever inmates they could with their machine guns, by this point having long since given up trying to settle this situation peacefully.
Nearby, he could likewise make out the blonde-haired head of Himiko, as she was darting this way and that between the throngs of rushing and combative inmates and the desperate guards; taking in stabs, slashes and kicks wherever she could, all while wearing a smile that was unmistakable even from across the yard where Vukodlak stood.
Finally, where the real source of all the panic was, Vukodlak spotted Tomura standing well and truly on his own, as he kept planting his hands to the ground and sending numerous shockwaves of instant decay this way and that around him, tearing apart more and more of the fences, other prison blocks and more. With his white hair nearly standing on end as he moved and killed with every step; the expression on Tomura's face as he laid waste to everyone and everything around him was nothing short of euphoric.
Whether this was because of the effects of the bracelet still on his wrist or not didn't make a difference. The fact was that Vukodlak had found his teammates amid the chaos, and they thankfully had noticed him as well, as Himiko joyously raced over with Twice following close at hand; all while the Russian Villain himself began slashing his way through any guards dumb enough to get in between him and his allies. By the time they'd reunited, he'd thankfully been able to spot his three conscripts nearby and gave a piercing whistle to beckon them over. Thankfully, the fact there wasn't an immediate means of escape from the prison itself kept them from simply making a break for it, as they instead resolved to stick with a familiar face, rushing over to rejoin Vukodlak and his already very-offbeat-looking allies; with the schoolgirl among them looking the trio over with a grin of pure excitement.
"Oooh, are these the guys you wanted to join us, Sensei? They look so cool! Is that skinny one like a mermaid or something? Is her hair made of needles or quills? What about baldy? What can he do?" Himiko was already running a mile a minute with her questions, completely forgetting the language barrier, all before Vukodlak planted a firm palm against her mouth, keeping his attention on their three new prospects.
[[There's no time yet for introductions, not until we get out of here officially.]] "Tomura-san, we've got everything we came here for. Will your bracelet help your Quirk decay a hole in the perimeter wall?" The moment Vukodlak asked, Tomura's focused fell upon the massive face of concrete behind him, feeling the second-to-last shot from the bracelet inject into his bloodstream; fueled that much more by the voice in his head that had refused to shut up since this whole insane battle had started.
"It will now." With that simple tell-all answer, Tomura through both his hands forward, and an immediate shockwave of pure death erupted from his joined palms, reducing over a dozen inmates and guards stupid enough to be in front of him into dust, and soon causing the entire section of the perimeter, from top to bottom, to instantly crumble into nothing but dust, rust and rubble; leaving everyone inside now looking at a wide open gap to the outside world.
The sight of this produced an ecstatic cheer from all the remaining inmates, as once they finished dealing with whatever guards they were currently battling, they all began to rush for the hole. Due to their little group standing right in the path of this massive human throng, they ended up rushing right past them on both sides; allowing Bombardment to start patting the palms of his hands on the shoulders and backs of one sprinting inmate after another, continuously urging them to run every step of the way until they had finally run their course, and the small bunch of Villains now stood amid the bloody carnage that filled the whole of the prison yard.
"All of you get out of here! We can't let this place stand, otherwise they could report our faces to every media outlet across the continent. This place needs to be erased!" Tomura suddenly ordered his compatriots; and without hesitation, save for some serious urging by Vukodlak to the three newcomers, they all proceeded to run for the hole in the wall, while Tomura stood alone and, with the final available injection before this bracelet would be rendered useless, proceeded to plant his hands to the ground and unleash every ounce of power surging through his veins into the earth and the air all around him.
This resulted in a catastrophic dome of his Decay stagnating the air, rotting the earth and rending every remaining building, steel beam, brick and pane of glass into rubble as the walls collapsed out from under the remaining guards' feet. By the time it came to an end, the very ground and all the subterranean levels within it had been reduced into nothing more than a void, lifeless crater of pure destruction and death, while Tomura, by some unholy miracle, remained standing amid the one remaining solid patch of earth that had sunken in with the rest of what had once been Russia's most secure secret prison for Villains and Quirked fugitives.
Vukodlak, Himiko and Twice had already seen just how cataclysmic those bracelets had been able to make Tomura's already terrifying Quirk; but Bombardment, Quiller and Riptide all looked at the aftermath of what they had just seen with eyes as wide as could be; their complexions a deathly pale at the realization of just how right on the money Vukodlak had been when discussing the raw potential for power at least one of these foreign Villains had.
All the while, by this point, as Tomura came hurriedly climbing up the side of the crater to rejoin his comrades, Twice and Himiko were both now looking back to the crowd of other inmates that were still running without ever having looked back. "Hey, hey, you guys, shouldn't we try stopping all those other people? Maybe they could be able to help us, too!"
"Yeah; shouldn't we be running out with them? There's no way the cops haven't heard about this all happening by now, right?" Twice immediately asked once he realized how alone they now were, while the masses of escaped inmates continued to flee across the open landscape surrounding the crater of the prison, all converging up the nearest hills in their desperate race for freedom, with those with flight-based Quirks already starting to take off.
As soon as Vukodlak finished translating Twice's question for their new tag-alongs, Bombardment firmly shook his head. [[You're not wrong, Ninja Boy. Depending how you guys got here, you might have noticed a pretty small-time-looking military base just outside Mstyora. There's no way they haven't gotten warning about your little jailbreak by now, and if my calculations regarding the distance and terrain they'd have to travel to get here is at all right, their forces should be arriving any second now.]]
At that moment, amid the cacophonous cries of the inmates, came a quickly growing unmistakable mechanical rumbling from the horizon. Just before the inmates could reach the top of the hill ahead, a whole line of heavy-duty military personnel vehicles suddenly came rolling up into sight, accompanied by nearly a legion of uniformed soldiers; every single one of them barking out furious orders with their heavy weapons aimed at the approaching crowd.
Even though the inmates didn't stop even in the face of a veritable firing squad, the Villains hanging back could only observe, while Himiko was starting to squirm quite nervously. "How the heck are we supposed to get away all exposed like this? They'll just mow us down after they kill all those other guys! Sensei, can't we carry your Air Shields with us when we run? Hey, we can do that, right?"
Even Twice was clutching his head, shaking in genuine despairing hopelessness. "It's over before we even really got started! Us against tanks and machine guns is nothing, Air Shields or not! It was a good run while it lasted though, right?"
However, while Vukodlak didn't reflect nearly the same nervousness his student and Twice were; Bombardment simply cracked the joints in his neck and held up a single hand with his thumb raised. [[Tell that kid to calm down and just watch. Tell that to all your friends now, Vukodlak.]]
CLICK!
BKOOOM! BKOOM! BKOOM!
A mechanical clicking sound emanated the moment the bald-headed Villain brought his thumb down onto his clenched fist. The instant he did, several of the inmates within the crowd that had just then reached the military line, instantaneously erupted into massive fiery explosions that tore through absolutely everyone and everything in their immediate wake, inmate and soldier alike. Even several of the inmates that had taken off flying into the air suddenly exploded mid-flight, catching a few of their fellows on fire in the process, crashing down onto the merciless ground below.
What had once seemed to be a genuinely insurmountable force had been reduced to flaming wreckage in the single flick of a single man's thumb. Himiko's eyes were wide with surprise as her body froze mid-squirm, trying to process what she'd just seen what one of their new prospects was able to do. Twice looked similarly stunned, while Tomura simply looked back to look the three new foreign Villains with an observant eye.
All the while, for as proud as Bombardment looked of himself, with Quiller looking quite satisfied by proxy, Vukodlak was simply watching the League's leader's expression, trying to get a bead on what Tomura was thinking. After all the hard work they'd put into getting these three out to join their cause, it certainly would have been a great disappointment if he deemed them not worth investing in. He especially hoped his comrades weren't about to start suggesting another group fight to test their mettle. After what they'd all just done, he knew for a fact they didn't have that kind of time to waste.
He even began to feel a genuine sense of worry start to build in the pit of his gut once he saw the apprehensive look on Bombardment's face the longer he watched Tomura look him and his fellow inmates over. If he opened his mouth and said the wrong thing, it wouldn't even matter what language it was. Tomura could wipe the three of them out where they stood, and this mission still would have been for nothing.
Finally, though, he felt the dry-faced Villain's red eyes shift over to him out the corner of his eye. "Vukodlak-san…this explosive one here is the real reason you brought us all the way up here, isn't he?"
Bombardment and the other two Villains' eyes similarly shifted to him once they heard his name get mentioned. With a communicative glance of his own thrown their way, imploring them to let him do the talking, Vukodlak proceeded to answer: "Yes, it's true, Tomura-san. I wasn't sure at the beginning, but the fact is that even with all the plastic explosives we had secured back in Tbilisi, it wouldn't have been enough to get us all the way into the Kremlin as deep as we need to go to get everything we need for the future; not to mention the immense military security we would've had to deal with along the way. However, with these three in our ranks, we have that much more fighting and distraction power to drive all that force out of our way so we can just walk right in. I know as a whole they don't seem like much, but I've had personal experience against two of them from back when I was part of the New Bogatyrs. If nothing else, let that personal vote tell you of their potential."
However, it was at that moment that Bombardment suddenly stepped in, all but forcing himself between Vukodlak and Tomura; looking the white-haired man square in the eye while speaking over his shoulder to his fellow Villain. [[How about instead of speaking like you're trying to pitch us for a sale, why don't you just translate for me for your freaky-looking friend here, Vukodlak? He says that you people are looking to wreak some havoc and make a world where Villains like us can all live free, right? He speaks pretty highly of you three and your conviction, whatever the hell that's supposed to mean in regards to you people.
[[However, I will admit that at least your Quirk looks pretty damn impressive, and I'm more than a little curious to see just what exactly you all have in mind to kick those assholes at the Kremlin from their pedestal. Depending what I see, I just might even consider joining you and your little ragtag bunch for whatever this gang war of yours is all about. Just don't go around thinking you can keep telling me what to do, and we shouldn't have any problems. Agreed?]]
Vukodlak really had to rush to keep up with translating what exactly Bombardment was saying; all the while hoping that Tomura wouldn't just let it his own natural apprehension get the best of him and drive him to disintegrate the man where he stood. Even Quiller and Riptide both looked similarly nervous about the possibility of their comrade pissing off this mummy-looking Villain after what they'd just seen him do without even having to touch anything.
Tomura sucked in a sharp breath as his red eyes never broke from those of the man before him, and for but a moment, Himiko, Twice and Vukodlak similarly tensed up, as though just bracing themselves for their leader to turn bombardment into dust.
However, when Tomura finally brought his hand up, only to stop it at his hip in a clear handshake-like gesture, all three of his followers let out a collective sigh of immense shaken relief, especially when Bombardment actually took hold of his hand and shook it with particular enthusiasm.
"Vukodlak-san, tell this one that if he gives me any reason to think he's not 100% with us from this point no, he'll be dead before he even realizes it." This was all Tomura had to say once he and Bombardment pulled their hands apart from one another; this gesture of temporary partnership bringing Himiko back to her bouncy smiling self as she rushed to their new comrades, already rushing with all the questions faster than either Quiller or the surprised Riptide could keep up, even when she tried miserably to try and piece those same questions of childlike curiosity into Russian for them.
Of course, her attention could only be on these three new people for so long before her excitement had her excitedly skipping back to Vukodlak's side; her grin complimenting her wildly blushing cheeks. [[Oh, Sensei, it was so amazing down there, your training's been so helpful already, I feel like I can totally see in the dark and hear everything already! Is that what you feel like all the time? Does that mean I'm getting as strong as you already?!"
Thankfully, Twice was able to pull her away as his masked face reflected complete relief. "That aside, I hope you're right about these new folks! That explosive one scares the hell out of me! I can't wait to see what we all might be able to do if we put our heads and our Quirks together, can you?"
While everyone else was continuing on with these impromptu celebrations, though; Tomura was once again clutching his forehead and wincing with sharp pain; the voice in his head now speaking out most persistently: "You've got the key to your enemy's deepest secrets, and now you have the right kind of soldiers to strengthen your army a hundredfold. All you need do now is come to me and let us join forces at last. I know you can manage such a task, even if you had to do so entirely on your own. You have that kind of strength within you already; your master already cultivated such spirit in you already."
Gritting his teeth as he tried to shake the voice away from the forefront of his mind, Tomura turned back to address everyone. "All of you, quiet down! So now we've got all this Hero paperwork back at the hideout in town, and now we've got your miracle recruits. Vukodlak-san, does this mean we can finally get to Moscow and bring this whole distraction to an end?"
The impatience and pain combined in Tomura's tone was unmistakable, even to those among them that didn't speak a word of Japanese. Thankfully, Vukodlak was quick on the uptake as he already began to head back in the direction of Mstyora. "Indeed it does, Tomura-san. Thank you all for being as patient as you have been. We need just recollect our things, find ourselves some transportation and be on our way. After what we just did, it would be a miracle if the authorities don't stop all trains from here on."
Once he'd finished hurriedly repeating what he'd just told his fellow League members in Russian for his three fellow Slavic Villains, Riptide suddenly spoke up: [[Wait a second, Vukodlak! You know we're all well-known Villains all across this country. The instant any one of us steps foot into a town, the cops will be filled in, and we'll have a whole other fight on our hands all over again.]]
However, Vukodlak didn't break his stride, instead pulling up the sleeves of his jacket so they could all see the slots lining his forearms. [[Never you all worry about that. Thanks to the League of Villains, I came to learn quite the amazing little detail about myself, and met someone with the capability to help me capitalize on it. Thanks to that, we'll never be at risk of being recognized in public so long as we play it safe.]]
Bombardment, Quiller and Riptide could only wonder what on earth Vukodlak meant by that, before they saw him suddenly start dispensing out what looked like see-through plastic sheets from the openings in his arms, before he just as swiftly tore them away and held one out to each of them, urging them to put them on now while they were out of sight of any settlements.
As they all proceeded to do as they were suggested (albeit with great reluctance) only to marvel at their instantaneously created new faces; all Vukodlak and his fellow League members could think to themselves was a deep and sincere expression of hope that these three would in fact prove to be exactly what they needed to make this entire journey of theirs truly worthwhile. It was now or never as they all proceeded on their way into the dark and frigid night; the time for them to move onto the home stretch to their ultimate amassing of capital, potential new gear to aid in their conquest, and the source of the beckoning voice within Tomura's head.
And there you all have it, everyone; the new chapter of the week, and Tomura, Vukodlak, Himiko and Twice now find themselves with three new Villains added to their ranks. Now the question is: just how they will manage to utilize their respective Quirks together in order to break the back of the Russian government and obtain everything they've come this far seeking out? What awaits them all from here?
Of course, you'll simply have to come back and read the next chapter on 04/09! I hope you all enjoyed what you read here tonight. If you could please write a review letting me know your thoughts, you have no idea how much it would mean to me.
Have a great rest of your week, and I will see you all next time!
