The Results III
The Japanese people watched as almost all of the Britannians were leaving their country. It was relief that Britannians were neither insisting nor being stubborn and they were leaving. Many of them gave praise to the Black Knights for fighting for them and getting them their country back after seven long and difficult years. Many lives were destroyed and lost during those seven years. So while there was joy that Japan was no longer under Britannian rule, it did little to no solace for the people who lost their lives and people who lives were changed for the worse and trauma that went along with it as well. But for now, the people of Japan could concentrate on rebuilding their homeland and their lives with the hope of healing their souls and make up for lost time. At the training field of the old Viceroy Palace, the Black Knights along with the Six Clan Leaders of Kyoto were meeting and people arrived and it was the branch members of the Black Knights who showed up as the reinforcements and were able to stop the reinforcements that were sent to aid Schneizel's forces. They all greeted each other and Zero and Void brought everyone's attention.
"We have succeeded in liberating Japan," Zero started, "the first goal of the Black Knights have been fulfilled and we also have members of Black Knights from other countries here."
Zero and Void turned to the two groups of the Black Knights that came to aid and the two leaders of the two Black Knights groups stepped forward and bowed to them.
"It is a pleasure to meet you all," Talim said, "I am Talim and myself and the Black Knights with me operate in the Philippines which is currently known as Area 12."
"It's nice to meet you folks," The bandana wearing young man said, "I'm Yun-seong and my crew and I operate in the Korean Peninsula which is still labeled as Area 16."
The core members greeted them and Naoto, Todoh, and Keitaro approached Talim and Yun-seong.
"It's nice to meet you all," Naoto said with a smile.
"Ah, you must be one of the three deputy commanders of the Black Knights," Talim said with a smile, "you're Naoto Kozuki."
"Yeah, it's a pleasure," Naoto said with a nod.
Yun-seong turned to Keitaro and pointed at him with a grin.
"You must be the third deputy commander Keitaro Aoyama," Yun-seong said.
"Yeah, it's nice to meet you both and the rest of you," Keitaro said.
"It's a pleasure to meet fellow Black Knights from other countries," Todoh said, "we have been told about you folks by Rai and it's an honor to finally meet two branch leaders of the Black Knights."
"We feel the same way with you Kyoshiro Todoh," Talim said as she bowed to him, "we've heard a lot about you including your successful feat seven years back when you brought the Britannian military down to its knees."
"People still refer to you as the Miracle Worker," Yun-seong said and then turned to the others, "and why wouldn't they since you were the only one at that time who was able to bring Britannian forces on its knees."
"Nothing more but intelligence and tactics on my part," Todoh said, "I'm not quite the Miracle Worker as people say I am. Now if you want to talk about the real Miracle Workers, you want these three," Todoh turned to Zero, Void, and Rai. "They're the ones who put everything together and led us to the victory we have achieved."
"Don't sell yourself short," Zero said, "we couldn't have done it without all of you."
"We may have set things up but you all helped execute them," Void said, "and especially you Todoh. You helped rally the people on our side and led the charge to secure our victory and led the liberation of Japan."
"As far as we know, Todoh the Miracle Worker is still alive and kicking," Zero said.
"I agree," Rai said proudly, "please stand tall Lieutenant Colonel. We are very grateful to you for all you have done."
Todoh felt humble and the members spoke in agreement. Pleasant conversations went on with the Black Knights. Rai, Naoto, and Keitaro were speaking with Talim while Yun-seong speaking with Ohgi, Gen, Jinta, Alice, Chiba, Asahina, Senba, and Urabe. Euphie looked on and was pleased as she was happy with what she was seeing. Someone was calling to her and Euphie saw that it was Kaguya who signaled her to come over to speak with her along with the other Clan Leaders of Kyoto as well as Diethard. Euphie nodded and went over and talked to them and then they were approached by Talim and Yun-seong with Naoto and Ohgi accompanying them. Zero and Void looked on and they were pleased in what they were seeing as Jeremiah and Sayoko and CC joined them.
"We actually did it," Void said, "We actually free Japan."
"Yes and we did together," Zero said.
"You two should be proud of yourselves," Sayoko said smiling at them.
"Indeed and with this, you have given people of Japan back their lives," Jeremiah said proudly.
"Thank you but we all deserve credit," Zero said, "Like I said, everyone did their part. Of course that includes you CC."
The four looked at CC who looked back.
"There's no need for thanks to me," CC said, "honestly, I don't think I did much."
"I disagree," Zero said, "you have been a huge help CC."
CC looked at Zero, "You think so?"
"I know it," Zero said.
Void nodded in agreement. Kallen looked at Zero and Void and smiled and went over to them.
"Kallen," Zero said.
"Zero and Void," Kallen said, "Lelouch, Nunnally."
"We really did it," A female voice said.
They looked and saw that it was Euphie that was approaching them.
"Euphie," Zero said.
"I'm glad that we succeeded," Euphie said as she stood between Zero and Void, "the people of Japan are free and yet…"
Euphie had a sad expression which was noticed by the others with her.
"Euphie…" Void said.
Euphie shook her head and smile.
"I'm sorry," Euphie said, "this is a happy time. We should be celebrating for the moment and I know we still have work to do."
Zero, Void, and even Kallen could figure what was on Euphie's mind and it was the massacre of the Special Zone that was perpetrated by Pluton which was orchestrated by VV. Three more people approached Zero and Void and it was Sancia, Lucretia, and Dalque.
"Oh you three," Zero said.
The three former Geass Order agents greeted the two masked siblings.
"Zero and Void," Sancia said, "thank you for giving us a chance to prove ourselves and allowed us to aid you in the operation."
"We want to give our congratulations for being successful in freeing Japan from Britannian control," Lucretia said.
"You were all amazing," Dalque said, "even though we were enemies a while back going by the orders of Colonel Madd and Princes Castor and Pollux, you still gave us a chance even though you had no reason to do so and even though you could have killed us."
"Yes, that is true," Sancia said, "you could have eliminated us and you would have been justified."
"You're kind to let us live," Lucretia said with a sad expression.
"There's no need for that," Zero said, "besides, you have our thanks for helping Cornelia and Marrybell."
"We're grateful for what you three did," Void said, "not to mention that you aided Euphie when dealing with VV."
"Yes and I am still thankful for your help," Euphie added.
"There's no need," Sancia said, "in the end, we failed to secure VV."
"There's no need to worry," Zero said, "We will get him. His luck will run out and we will have him and we will make him suffer for everything that he has done. Not just myself and Nunnally, also to the others who he has caused grief."
"Of course," Void said, "so with that, Sancia, Lucretia, and Dalque. Thank you and welcome to the Black Knights."
"We have much to do," Zero said, "We would appreciate your continued support and cooperation."
"Of course," Sancia said as she kneeled, "Zero and Void… no, Lelouch and Nunnally vi Britannia… or would like to be referred as Lamperouge."
Dalque and Lucretia followed suit and kneeled before the siblings.
"There's no need for that," Zero said.
"No, we believe this is appropriate," Sancia said, "after all, we were enemies not long ago."
"You were following orders," Void said, "and it is not as though you had a choice in the matter."
"Please stand up you three," Euphie said as she stood next to Lelouch, "there's no need for this. Besides, we are all allies here."
"You're part of the Black Knights now," Alice said.
Sancia, Lucretia, and Dalque were surprised and they looked and saw Alice and Rai approaching them. Alice was in front of Sancia and extended her hand in Sancia looked and was surprised as was Dalque and Lucretia. Alice had a bright smile and Zero, Void, and Euphie were pleased as well. Sancia, Dalque, and Lucretia were touched and Sancia took Alice's hand much to the pleasure of Alice and the others.
"Zero, Void," A female voice called.
They looked over and saw Rakshata who was approaching them. Zero nodded and looked at Void and Euphie. Not long afterwards, Zero and Void were meeting with Rakshata at another area of the training field. It was there that Rakshata told them masked siblings about when she met with Lloyd and Cecile on Kamine Island when picking up the Lionel and then things Lloyd had said.
"I see," Zero said, "then there's no doubt, he knows our identities."
"That's a problem," Void said.
"It is," Rakshata said as she smoked her pipe, "I didn't confirm nor admit to anything he said but I know he figured it out already. In regards of the next thing, with everything that has happened and with how your brother Prince Schneizel is, Earl of Pudding has his doubts that he would be believed if he told him and even if he did, he is sure that he would be asked to provide proof as it would be considered to be speculation."
"Father knows we're alive and all and has known about us, Nonette figured us out, and then there's VV who then told Suzaku, and now Lloyd Asplund," Void said.
"Then so be it," Zero said.
"Brother?" Void asked looking at Zero.
"At this point, we need to operate under the assumption that eventually that our identities will be known by more people and we need to be ready and prepared for that to happen," Zero said.
Void was taken aback a bit and then she nodded.
"Yes, I suppose we have no choice," Void said.
"I always figured that there was going to be a possibility that this would happen ever since Nonette realized who we were," Zero said, "no, I think it's best way to look at this is because of him."
"You mean Father," Void said.
"Yes," Zero said as he thought about the 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles zi Britannia having a smirk on his face and frowned behind his mask, "that man…"
"Perhaps even more so since we succeeded in wrestling Japan out of Britannia's control," Void said.
"I agree," CC said suddenly.
Zero, Void, and Rakshata looked and saw CC who approached them.
"CC," Zero said, "can tell us what the emperor may try to beat us with?"
"Well I can't say for sure," CC said, "I am not sure myself. Sorry I can't be more helpful."
"No, it's fine CC," Zero said, "it just means that we have to clear all conditions. Let us begin in helping rebuild Japan, then countermeasure when they try to reconquering Japan, and help the others conquer nations and even the EU."
"Yes, let's do this," Void said.
"Let's gather everyone and begin discussions of the next phase for the Black Knights," Zero said, "after all, our work is not done."
Geass Order Headquarters
Within the headquarters, Rolo was in an examination room lying on a medical bed getting checked on. As he was lying on the medical bed having his readings recorded, he was looking at a monitor and it was showed Lelouch and Nunnally. As he was staring at the monitor, he thought about how his life had been for as long as he remembered as he was thinking about one of his past as a small boy approaching a group of men and when Rolo looked up using his Geass that had activated from his right eye. Rolo placed all the men is suspended animations and slowly approached one of the men and took something from his pocket which was a handgun and used it to shoot the man in the center through the neck instantly killing him.
"For as long as I remember, no actually I can't remember how many people I have killed," Rolo said in his head, "it's the same as someone brushing their teeth or eating a meal, nobody remembers the number the times they have done these things. It's no different. I have a Geass that is suited for assassination. That's what I was told so I killed. After all, there was no other place for me. So now I will be working on an undercover operation but I wonder, am I really suited for this? I don't think it is suited for me to simply get close to a target, much less two in order to destroy their organization from within and bring down their guard," Rolo thought about it and shook his head, "No, it shouldn't matter. It's not my right nor is it my place to question it. If it is my mission then I have to fulfill it," Rolo stared at monitor again showing Lelouch and Nunnally, "I will get close to Lelouch and Nunnally Lamperouge."
Outside of the examination room, Madd was looking on and then left and went on his way. He then went and entered a lab and there he looked at the large tubes that was holding Kewell and the other cybernetic soldiers and Bartley was there observing them.
"It seems that boy is going to be sent to infiltrate Japan with the task to gain the trust of Zero and Void," Madd said.
Bartley looked at Madd and then back to the cybernetic soldiers who were in the large tubes.
"Will it even work?" Bartley asked.
"I don't know and quite frankly I don't care," Madd said, "after all, His Majesty doesn't really have much faith in VV," Madd grinned and chuckled, "VV is making the assumption that he is fine and that he got one over the emperor."
"Colonel Madd, I need to know," Bartley said as he was feeling unease, "What is the main objective?" Bartley looked at Madd, "What is the ultimate goal of His Majesty?"
"I really don't know," Madd answered.
Bartley was surprised at Madd's answer.
"Do you really not know?" Bartley asked.
"No, I don't know," Madd said, "and I'll say this again, I do not care."
Bartley looked at Madd stunned at his reply and Madd glanced at Bartley.
"May I ask as to why you are shocked by my answer General?" Madd asked.
Bartley looked away and frowned.
"I'm just wondering what we are really doing," Bartley said.
"I don't have an answer sir," Madd said, "I respectfully suggest that you should ask either Director VV, Sir Trenton, Sir Waldstein, or His Majesty himself… assuming they will give a straight answer."
Japan
In Ashford Academy, Milly, Shirley, and Rivalz were hanging out in the Student Council Room and talking to each other discussing what had happened, what's going to happen in the future and what concerns they had. The door suddenly opened and Lelouch and Nunnally showed up in their school uniforms. The three others looked and Rivalz was surprised to see the Lamperouge siblings.
"Lelouch and Nunnally," Rivalz said.
"Hello," Nunnally greeted warmly with a wave.
"I see that you three are here," Lelouch said and then he turned to Rivalz, "Rivalz."
"Hey buddy," Rivalz said, "I'm glad to see that you and Nunnally are okay but seriously, what's with you man? You two went and disappeared on us without saying anything. That's cold."
"Sorry about that," Lelouch said, "we know it was unfair but there were circumstances."
"I see," Rivalz said, "circumstances…"
"Rivalz, there's something that we're going to say," Lelouch said.
"Oh… okay but before that, I think I can take a guess of what it is," Rivalz said.
"Rivalz?" Nunnally asked.
"Lelouch, Nunnally," Rivalz said and then he pointed at the Lamperouge siblings, "you two are Zero and Void, aren't you?"
What Rivalz had just said shocked Lelouch and Nunnally and even Shirley and Milly were shocked. Lelouch and Nunnally looked at Milly and Shirley's shocked expressions.
"Rivalz, what are you…?" Milly asked.
"Prez, I bet you and Shirley were aware as well," Rivalz said with a smile.
Milly and Shirley were surprised again.
"Rivalz, you…" Shirley spoke.
Rivalz looked at everyone in the room with a light chuckle and rubbed the back of his head.
"You all must wondering when and how I figured it out," Rivalz said, "well truth be told, I've had my suspicions for some time with the way you Lelouch and Nunnally would disappear and be gone in certain times. You two were gone as the same time as Rai, Kallen, and Alice so that was part of the giveaway and with the way they showed up when you guys were fighting against Britannia to free Japan, I was convinced even more with when you guys disappeared with no explanation. The cover story of why you had to head back to the Homeland, if anyone else, it would have been convincing but it wasn't for me since neither of you ever talked about having family back in the Homeland for the times I've known you guys."
"I see," Lelouch said, "you were able to piece things together."
"Y-Yeah, I mean I knew you two must had your reasoning and sorry if I am butting in but I—" Rivalz replied.
"You don't need to apologize Rivalz," Nunnally assured.
Rivalz looked at Nunnally who smiled.
"It couldn't be helped," Nunnally said, "if anything that's actually a failure on our part."
Lelouch went to Rivalz and placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Let's talk Rivalz," Lelouch said, "to be honest, since we realized that you intended to stay, we figured we can tell and let you know the truth."
Rivalz looked at Lelouch and nodded with determination.
"I want to hear it from you," Rivalz said as he smiled, "please tell me everything. I want to know about you guys and… I want to know if you'll let me help you."
Lelouch was amazed at what Rivalz just said and smiled and nodded.
"Okay Rivalz," Lelouch said, "you got it."
Lelouch and Nunnally sat with Rivalz, Shirley, and Milly and started from the beginning with their lives in Pendragon as members of the Britannian Imperial Family. Meanwhile Kallen and Naoto were walking and heading to a certain direction in their casual clothes. Kallen was worried and turned to her brother.
"Naoto, are you sure about this?" Kallen asked.
"I believe so," Naoto said, "I'm sure it will be fine."
"Hmm, well if you say so," Kallen said, "I want to get back so that we can work on setting things up for the next operations for the Black Knights and more importantly, to help Zero… to help Lelouch."
"Really going put your effort in for it," Naoto replied as he was amused.
"I'm captain of his personal guard," Kallen reminded, "essentially, I'm his knight," Kallen blushed and looked away, "I'm just doing what is expected of me that's all."
Naoto looked at his younger sister.
"Kallen, do mind if I ask and I hope you don't get offended," Naoto said.
"Um okay, what is it?" Kallen responded.
"How do you really feel about Lelouch?" Naoto asked.
Kallen was surprised at her brother's question and stopped and looked at Naoto who stopped as well.
"Naoto, what are you asking?" Kallen asked.
"It's a simple question," Naoto said, "How do you really feel about Lelouch?"
"Naoto, why are you asking me that?" Kallen asked.
"Sorry, didn't mean to catch you off guard like this," Naoto said, "it's just that I've noticed some things going with you and how you have reacted and interacted with Lelouch," Naoto shrugged, "if it's nothing then don't worry about it and I'm sorry for asking such question."
"Naoto," Kallen said.
"Hmm?" Naoto responded looking at Kallen.
Kallen shifted her eyes to the side, "Let's say what you say is not off in your observation."
Naoto looked at Kallen and he got what was going on with his sister.
"I see," Naoto said.
Naoto then went to Kallen and placed his hand on her head with a smile and Kallen looked at Naoto and it reminded both of them of when they were kids ten years ago. Naoto stopped and nodded.
"Let's get going and then if you want, we can talk about it," Naoto said, "or if not with me, maybe you can talk to someone. Even Mom…"
Kallen simply nodded. Later on, the Kozuki siblings arrived at the Stadtfeld Manor. They looked at the home that belonged to their father James Stadtfeld. Naoto was about to open the door but the door was suddenly opened and it was Sena who opened the door. Kallen and Naoto were surprised seeing their mother.
"Mom," Naoto said.
"Mom," Kallen said.
"Naoto, Kallen," Sena said as she was relieved seeing her children.
Sena rushed and hugged her children. Naoto and Kallen were relieved seeing their mother and they hugged back.
"Ah, what a wonderful sight to behold," A male voice said.
The three people looked and saw James who came out of the manor with a smile.
"Dad," Naoto said.
"I'm glad you two are here," James said happily, "and finally we're here as a family like it should have been."
"Dad," Kallen said.
"I'm thankful for all this," Sena said, "especially you James and even Princess Cornelia."
"Wait, Princess Cornelia?" Kallen replied confused.
"Oh yes," Sena said, "oh, your father didn't mention it to you?"
"Huh?" Naoto replied confused.
"It seems that before she left, she personally had me and others with me released and all the charges towards us were dropped," Sena said.
Naoto and Kallen were surprised and then they looked at their father who shook his head.
"I had nothing to do with that," James said, "I was just as surprised. It seems that Cornelia decided to do this on her own."
"I see," Kallen said.
"I guess we can thank Cornelia for what she has done," Naoto said.
"Anyway let's come inside," James suggested, "after all we have much to catch up."
"I agree," Sena said happily, "come in you two."
"Yeah, sure," Naoto said with a smile.
"Mom, I am so sorry," Kallen said as she was in tears and hugging her mother, "I'm so sorry how I acted towards you."
"Kallen, it's all right," Sena assured warmly, "please don't worry about it. In the end, it was my choice and believe me, I'd do it again, anything for both of you."
"If anyone who should be sorry, it's me," James said feeling remorseful, "I was a coward but no more. I don't care if I lose everything. You three are all that matters to me."
"Dad," Naoto said.
"James," Sena said.
"That is what I have chosen," James said, "I will not allow myself to make choices that detrimental to any of you three."
"Dad, if you don't mind me asking," Naoto said, "how are things going…"
"Your relatives are sure to know what I have done," James said, "all of my business partners have already cut ties with me and I know that it won't be long before they oust me as head of the Stadtfeld family labeling me a disgrace and disgusting stain to the family but you know what, I'm fine with that. I have made my decision," James then looked at Naoto, "sorry son, it seems that it is most likely you will not succeed me as the next head of the Stadtfeld family."
"That's fine Dad," Naoto said with a shrug, "you know that I never cared for it."
"Yes, I know," James said.
The family got together and spoke more as they went inside the manor.
Pendragon, Holy Britannian Empire
In a stockade within a military base, Suzaku was sitting in his cell and pondered to himself of what was going to happen. Suzaku sighed as he clenched his fist while having a sad expression. He suddenly heard footsteps and he looked wondering who was coming. Suzaku got his answer when he saw two foot soldiers accompanying Nonette.
"Lady Enneagram," Suzaku said.
"I'll take it from here," Nonette said.
"Yes ma'am," The two soldiers said as they took their leave.
"Kururugi, it seems you have gotten yourself in quite the predicament," Nonette said.
"That is quite an understatement," Suzaku said.
"I spoke with Kanon and he told me what happened," Nonette said, "you've been stripped of your rank and you're no longer allowed to pilot the Lancelot. Quite unfortunate and all because you had to disobey orders," Nonette shook her head, "Seriously, what the hell were you thinking? Why didn't you take in the consideration of what would have happened if you did what you did?"
"I got played," Suzaku admitted, "Maybe the right thing to say is that I let someone manipulate me and use me for their own ends."
"Yes, you're referring to VV, right?" Nonette responded.
Suzaku was surprised and looked at Nonette who had a serious expression.
"I know what happened," Nonette said, "well not just what happened but I know about VV and his existence and his connections and I know about Geass which also means that I know about the truth of Cera who is actually called CC."
"How did you… no when?" Suzaku asked.
"His Majesty himself," Nonette answered, "He told me everything after I went back to him after his announcement basically stripping Euphemia of her status including her claim to the throne."
"I see," Suzaku said and then he stood up and faced Nonette, "Lady Enneagram, you know who Zero and Void are behind their masks, don't you?"
"Of course I do," Nonette said, "I know that it's Lelouch and Nunnally, the vi Britannian siblings who were thought to be lost seven years ago."
"Did you know beforehand?" Suzaku asked, "Was that why you trying to recruit them or convince them to join with you back on Shikine Island?"
"Yes, His Majesty sent me to confirm it," Nonette said, "at first I wasn't sure and even had my doubts but over time as I kept digging deep and knowing the way Zero fought and with all that had happened, there was no doubt in my mind."
"I see, so you really knew," Suzaku said with a sad expression.
"Kururugi, with all that has happened, there's an important reason why I came to visit you," Nonette said.
"What is it?" Suzaku asked.
"Prince Schneizel will be coming to speak with you but there's something I have to tell you," Nonette said.
"What is it?" Suzaku asked again.
Nonette narrowed her eyes, "Kururugi, you cannot at any point and time reveal what you know about the identities of Zero and Void and you can't reveal the existence of Geass."
Suzaku was shocked, "But why? If I explain things to Prince Schneizel, then surely—"
"Don't do it," Nonette interrupted strongly, "not even Prince Schneizel can know. You keep your mouth shut about Geass and the identities of Zero and Void."
Suzaku was shocked again and couldn't believe what he was being told. Meanwhile at the Pendragon Imperial Palace, there were two lines of people in the throne room and Charles was sitting on his throne. The two line were consists of high ranking nobles and members of the Imperial Family. The door slowly opened and there were two people that were standing and it was Schneizel and Cornelia.
"Announcing the Second Prince Schneizel el Britannia and the Second Princess Cornelia li Britannia!" An imperial guardsman announced.
Schneizel and Cornelia glanced around and proceeded to walk in the throne room together side by side. As they were walking, people were whispering and speaking in low tones to each other talking about Schneizel and Cornelia and their failure with Japan that was formerly Area 11 and the multiple rebellions that were happening in other Areas.
"I'm still in shock that they lost Area 11 to those terrorists," One of the nobles whispered.
"How is it possible that these two who are considered great minds and commanders lose to those animals?" Another noble whispered in disgust.
"The disappointment and disgrace is immeasurable," Another noble spoke in a whisper, "not to mention Euphemia…"
"Are you really bringing that disgraceful traitor?" Another noble asked annoyed, "The one who turned her back on her own country."
"I am just bringing up the audacity that girl of joining hands with those rebels and terrorists," The other noble mentioned, "She would have been better off dead. At least then she would have died with honor, dignity, and pride instead living in disgrace and as a disgusting traitor and rebel to the empire."
"Well His Majesty had already disinherited her as a princess and heir to the throne," One of the nobles spoke, "that was the price to pay for that ridiculous Special Zone which hilariously failed in no time."
"It was Princess Cornelia who allowed her to stay there," Another noble whispered, "when she should have dragged her with her and have her face punishment."
"There has always been talk that Princess Cornelia was too lenient to Euphemia," Another noble said, "I wouldn't be surprised if Princess Cornelia was actually supporting Euphemia's foolishness."
"It doesn't matter," The other noble said, "either way Princess Cornelia and Prince Schneizel are going to held responsible for this embarrassing failure. Not to mention the fact that now we have multiple rebellions happening in all of the other Areas."
"Yes, that is true," The other noble said, "it is certain that the Black Knights are the cause of this."
