"Kiddo, I don't think we're alone. Stay behind me, okay?" Macaque whispered.

Bei Da nodded in agreement. Macaque summoned his staff and got into a battle stance. The monkey kicked down the door and saw a scorpion lady and...OH SHIT IS THAT THE GOLD AND SILVER DEMONS?!

"STAND DOWN, YOU FUC-" Macaque stopped mid sentence, realizing that there was a child behind him so he had to take out the cuss word. Macaque cleared his throat.

"STAND DOWN, YOU JERKS!" Macaque said while cringing.

"WOAH! WHAT THE HELL?!" exclaimed Jin.

"HUH?! Ugh...Yin and Jin, are these the people that you guys were talking about?" Said the scorpion woman.

Both demons nodded in agreement. The scorpion lady sighed.

"Listen, we aren't here to cause you or your companion any harm." The scorpion lady said. "I'm not sure what these two did to your companion, but I'm willing to apologize on their behalf. Just don't take them away, okay?"

"Um...we weren't here looking for them." Macaque replied, now lowering his weapon.

"Wait what?" Yin said in a confused tone.

"So why did you kick down the door?" Jin chimed in.

"I heard a suspicious noise coming from here and thought it was a threat." the monkey said.

"Oh, so you aren't going to kick our asses again?" Yin asked.

"That depends, are you going to try to attack the kid again?" Macaque said directly looking into the blue demon's red eyes.

"NOPE! OF COURSE NOT!" The two demons said in unison.

"Kay, then I won't hurt ya." The monkey said in a chill tone.

Macaque felt a little tug at his sleeve. He looked and saw that it was Bei Da tugging at his sleeve. She didn't look afraid for some reason, but instead she looked uneasy. Macaque was about to say something to Bei Da, but the scorpion demon began to speak.

"So...I'm guessing that you two are staying in here because of the rain, right?" Said the scorpion woman.

"Wait, it's going to rain?" Bei Da asked.

"Yeah, there's a radio in here, but it's stuck on the weather channel." The scorpion responded.

Bei Da's expression quickly worsened after hearing that. Macaque decided that he was going to talk to her about it.

"Hey Bean, can we talk for a quick second?" Macaque asked.

Bei Da nodded in agreement. They both quickly left the room and were now in the hallway that they were once in before.

"Bei Da, are you okay?" Macaque asked.

"Um..no not really." Bei Da answered. "I...I"

Bei Da was stammering. The last time that Macaque heard her stammer like that was when they had met in the alleyway. Macaque was about to say something, but Bei Da stopped stammering.

"I don't know if we can trust them..." Bei Da said, looking uneasy.

"Kid, I'm going to be honest with you. I don't trust them either, but if they do attempt to do something bad to us then I'll kick their ass- I mean butts!" Macaque said, cringing at the last part.

Bei Da giggled. Her mood seemed to lighten up a bit.

"You can say ass, ya'know?" she said.

"Oh thank the gods!" He said with relief.

The tone of the conversation seemed better, but it quickly went back to its original state. Bei Da looked sad again and Macaque had a feeling that something else was bothering her.

"Um...Bei, is there something else that's bothering you?" Macaque asked in a concerned tone.

The girl sighed.

"Yeah, but I don't like talking about it though..." Bei Da said in a gloomy tone.

"Okay kiddo, I just want you to know that I'm always here to listen." Macaque said. "I mean I don't do it myself, but maybe I should-"

Macaque was cut off by Bei Da hugging him. He was surprised that she was hugging him. The black furred monkey let the kid hug him. There was a moment of silence until Macaque spoke again.

"As touching as this moment is, we better get back to the three demons before they get suspicious." Macaque said.

"Ok, but we aren't gonna stay with them, right?" Bei Da asked.

"Of course we aren't!"

The two returned to the three demons who had somehow got a ping ball table. The green haired scorpion demon was the first to notice them.

"Oh, you're back?" She said in a curious tone.

"Yeah, anyways do you know how long the rain is going to last?" Macaque asked.

"I believe it said that it would rain for the entire night and in the early morning." The scorpion replied.

"Ah I see, thanks. We'll be heading out now." Macaque said.

"Oh! Okay, goodbye." the scorpion demon said.

"Bye."

Macaque and Bei Da had left the room and started to explore the abandoned building for a good resting place. Bei Da found a small room with two couches and a coffee table in between it.

"Macaque! I found a good place to rest!" Bei Da said.

"Good job, Bean!" Macaque replied.

Macaque sat in one of the couches while Bei Da sat across from him. She looked a little hungry. So the monkey put his arm into his shadow portal and grabbed one of the mangos from this morning. Surprisingly, it was still fresh. Macaque looked at the mango and back at Bei Da.

"Hey kiddo, are you hungry?" Macaque asked.

Bei Da nodded in agreement. Macaque handed her the mango and she thanked him. The young girl started eating the mango while the black furred monkey had started exploring the room. Macaque came across a weird small box with a lense attached at the back of it. He went back to the couches and started to fiddle with the weird box.

"Mac, what are you doing?" Bei Da asked.

"I found this weird box and I'm just messing with it- wait, did you just call me 'Mac'?"

"You call me 'Bean', so I have to give you a nickname too!" Bei Da responded with a smile.

"Heh, alright kiddo. Anyways, do you know what this thing is?" Macaque said while lifting the weird box.

"Hmmm...OH! That's a camera!" Bei Da replied. "You can take pictures on it!"

"Pictures..?" Macaque asked while tilting his head a little bit.

"Here, let me show you."

The girl walked over to the couch that the monkey was sitting on and wrapped one of her arms around the monkey. She took the camera and made the lense facing them.

*FLASH!*

Macaque had to blink a couple of times after the flash. A piece of paper started to come out of the camera. Bei Da took the piece of paper and showed Macaque.

"See? This is a picture that the camera was able to take!" She said.

It was a picture of Bei Da with one of her arms wrapped around Macaque's shoulder and Macaque giving a confused expression on his face.

"Okay, now that's impressive." Macaque said. "How does it even do that though?"

"I dunno, it's probably technical stuff or something." Bei Da replied. "Anyways here ya go!"

She gave Macaque the photo.

"Wait, you're giving it to me?" Macaque asked.

"Yeah, consider it a thank you for trying to help me find my cat!" Bei Da said with a tired smile.

"Oh..um..no problem, bean." Macaque said. "Anyways, you look tired. Do you wanna get some rest?"

"Yea-" Said Bei Da, but was cut off by some thunder.

The thunder made Bei Da flinch a bit and Macaque got a little bit concerned. He was about to say something, but Bei Da grabbed his arm and started to hold on to it for dear life.

"Kiddo? Are you..afraid of thunder?" Macaque asked with a concerned tone.

Bei Da stopped holding onto his arm, instead she started to hug him. More thunder began to strike. Macaque felt his shirt getting a bit..wet?

"Bean, are you okay?"

"N-no." Bei Da said in between hiccups.

Was she...crying? Macaque had never seen Bei Da cry before and this was only their second night together after meeting each other in the alleyway. Macaque had no clue on what to do in this situation. He tried his best to remember what to do until he remembered one time when he and Wukong were younger.

*FLASHBACK*

A young Macaque and Wukong were taking shelter from the rain. Wukong was rambling about something until he noticed that Macaque was silently crying.

"Mangos, are you...okay?" The golden furred monkey asked.

"H-huh..yeah I'm f- fine, peaches." The white furred monkey replied in between hiccups.

"No you're not! You're literally crying right now!" Wukong exclaimed.

There was a moment of silence until Wukong spoke again.

"Macaque, I'm sorry for raising my voice at you. I just...I don't like it when you start lying about your feelings to me." Wukong said. "You know that you can talk to me about your feelings, right?"

"I..I know." Macaque replied. "I just...I just don't like the rain."

"You don't like rain? How come?" Wukong asked while tilting his head.

"Because whenever it rains, there's always t-thunder and I don't like thunder either! It's..." Macaque trailed off.

"It's what?" Wukong replied in a conecred tone.

"It's scary..."

"Oh...well there's no need to be sad!" Wukong said.

"H-huh?" Macaque stammered.

"Yeah, there's no need to be sad because you have me!" Wukong said with a smile.

Those words made the young Macaque feel a little happier. Wukong started saying things to cheer Macaque up. Eventually the young golden furred monkey would start singing a lullaby.

"Are you trying to put me to sleep, peaches?" Macaque asked.

"Maaaybeeee!" Wukong said smugly.

"Heh...you dork!" Macaque replied jokely.

The white furred monkey put his head on the golden furred monkey's shoulder.

"Can you continue singing, peaches?" Macaque asked in a tired voice.

"Of course, mangos." Wukong responded.

*BACK TO REALITY*

Macaque didn't like remembering those memories of him. He didn't want to sing that song that Wukong made, but if it was able to calm him down then it should calm down Bei Da. She was still holding onto the black furred monkey. Macaque hugged her back and started singing.

"Let's go in the garden, you'll find something waiting~"

Bei Da's grip on Macaque had loosened a bit.

"Right there where you left it lying upside down."

Macaque continued to sing and Bei Da started to calm down more. The girl stopped crying and was just sniffling.

"Everything stays, but it still changes. Ever so slightly, daily and nightly...in little ways, when everything stays~"

Macaque looked down to see if Bei Da had calmed down, but instead she was sleeping. The black furred monkey laid the girl down on the couch and took off his scarf. He placed the red scarf on Bei Da like a blanket. Macaque walked up and laid down on the other couch and curled up into a ball. He felt his glamour coming off. He didn't want to put it back on since he was tired, so he decided to put it back on in the morning. He felt his six ears coming out. Macaque finally drifted off to sleep.

"Oh no, no, no, NO! NOT THIS AGAIN!"
