The screen had lit once more and a flower came into view.
Lili: (When I came to, there was no one else, just me. My parents went to make money in the dungeon, but they didn't make it out. Every waking moment has been hell trying to stay alive.)
It showed Lili in dirty rags as her childhood was open for everyone to see. Many felt sad for the girl, her friends included. The screen changed showing her struggling as a supporter.
*Thud*
Lili: Ugh!
Adventurer A: Hey, no slacking! Get on your feet before I dock your pay!
Her Familia had trouble containing their anger at seeing people treat her that way. Finn was already biting his lip seeing how a fellow prum was being treated. The screen changed again to show her begging for money and food while other adventurers kicked her away, laughing.
Lili: (I got abused, beating and cheated by them. Running away or hiding didn't work. No matter what, they'd always find me.)
It changed again showing her in clean clothes as she helped a couple with their flower shop. The evil grins of other adventurers flashed the screen before it shifted showing the shop destroyed. When she came back, she tried to help but was turned away. The looks on their faces made it clean as day that she wasn't wanted there.
Lili: (I thought I found somewhereI could belong, and THEY took it away.)
Now it showed Lili in her normal outfit with no emotion on her face as she did her job.
Lili: (That's why I hate adventurers. More than anything, now and forever.)
Now having seen part of her past, her friends comforted her after having to rewatch those painful memories.
Bell: You don't have to feel sad anymore. You have us now, Lili.
Lili: I know. Having you all with me makes it easier to bear.
Welf: You can always lean on any one of us, as long as you grab a tall enough stool.
Punch*
She punched Welf in the jaw with a smirk as the others laughed.
Meteria: Sister, you can't possibly think she's that horrible after seeing all of that.
Alfia: All I'm sure of is that her actions have proper justification. I just need to see her first steps to redemption.
Meteria: *Smiling* That's good.
With Argo...
Argo: How could something like that happen? What's the point of all that?
Zald: Boy, I hate to tell you this, but she is a supporter. They are known to be targets of harrassment among adventurers and she is no different.
Crozzo: Even then, that's on another level.
Lili: It's because of their Familia.
Feena: What's wrong with it?
Rolan: You'll see soon. I'll break it down for you after.
The screen shifted showing Loki in her room enjoying her wine.
Loki: PAAAAAHH!!! Oh, Soma Wine tastes great after a long time!
Eina: So am I on the same page when you say that members of the Soma Familia worship wine rather than their god?
Loki: Yup, that about sums it up. *Holds up a freshly filled glass* Plus, this cask is part of a reject batch. The real wine they worship isn'tavailable anywhere.
Eina: Real wine?
Loki: *Opens eyes* Yeah, that stuff is the real deal.
Argo: Holy crap, her eyes are open!!

Feena: This is important!!
Loki: One sip is all it takes to make a person drunk right to their soul. Some even joined the Familia just for a little taste of it.
Eina: That's seriously it? Wine is what'sholding them together?
Loki: Yup, but you need money to make wine. To fix this, they offer a small sample to the adventurers who can make the most money. After trying it, it's not that hard to make them work for another sip. Their desperation gets bad enough that they'd betray each other for money.
Eina: ...
Feena: They betray each other?! Aren't they supposed to be allies?!
Argo: How selfish and greedy can these people be?!
Rolan: That just shows the power of the true wine he makes. Hardly anyone can resist its charm. Once you drink it, you're already a slave to it.
Ariadne: How awful.
Yuri: And there's no one who can resist it?
Crozzo: Well, it's made by a god, so I'd say it's pretty hard.
Rolan: You are right, (but...) *Looks at Lili* We will go more in depth about the Familia as we progress.
On screen...
Loki: Well, that's all I got. Hope that helps you, Eina baby.
Eina: Oh, yes it does, thank you very much.
Loki: *Getting up* Now Ais, you can't keep pouring because some guy ran away from you.
Albert: Figures that made her sad.
Aria: I hope it wasn't serious on her mental health.
Riveria: It was that bad, but...

The screen changed for a moment to show Twilight Manor.
Lefiya: Lady Riveria, it's Miss Ais!!
She brought the elf to Tiona and Tione who saw Ais depressed down below them.
Riveria: What happened?
Ais: ...again.
Riveria: Hm?
Ais: He ran away again.
There was a moment of silence before Riveria turned around.
Riveria: Pfft!! Kukuku... I'm sorry I...
The girl was in disbelief that Riveria was laughing at her. Her face grew red with anger as she hit the elf on the back while Riveria continued laughing.
Back in the audience, people were either laughing at the girl's antics or, in the Loki Familia's case, in shock at how Riveria was casually laughing like that.
Aria: YES!!! More precious memories of our baby girl!!
Albert: We must burn this into our minds, love!!
With Bell..
The boy was red in the face seeing how differently Ais was acting. It was very different from the Ais he knew.
Meteria: Hm, she might be in better shape than I thought.
Alfia: She still needs work.
Meteria: Come on...

Albert(Emb): I guess that's why Mom doesn't like talking about that.
Ariel: Hahaha! I'm so glad I got to see that!
With Ais...
The girl buried her face in her hands in embarrassment as her friends laughed at the scene they saw.
Bete: HAHAHAHA!! I CAN'T!!!
Gareth: HAHAHAHA!!! I didn't think you had it that bad, lass!!!
Ais: *Pouting* Mmmmm...
Tione: Don't be like that, that was hilarious!
After they collected themselves, they turned back to the screen.
Loki: How about we update your status? That ought a cheer you up.
Ais: Ok. *Bows goodbye to Eina*
Loki: I'll even massage you if you want.
Ais: Don't make me cut you.
Loki: Aw, come on!
Eina: She's interesting.
Riveria: Our Goddess has her flaws, but she is someone we can all trust.
Eina: ...They turn on their own comrades? *Sip*
Loki: *Distant screaming* Level 6 is here!!!
Eina: PFFFFFFF!!!
Gareth: I doubt there was anyone in the place who didn't hear that.
Finn: It was Ais, so that should be expected.
The screen changed once more to show Lili pouring some liquid into small pouches.
Meteria: Good gods, is that her food?!
Welf: I don't think that's supposed to be eaten.
Hestia: So you're worried about your new supporter?
Bell: Yeah, those guys who were with her looked like they were up to no good. I thought it would be fine if we gave her somewhere to hide.
Hestia: I don't want to come off this way, but are you sure we can trust her?
Bell: Huh?
Hestia: I'm sorry. I could've worded that better, but there's something suspicious about her. I mean, did you actually drop your knife?
Her words made the boy feel conflicted about his thoughts.
Hestia: Plus, why would other adventurers be after her? What I'm trying to get as is she's hiding something.
Bell: I- ... I appreciate you looking out for me.
Time moved forward and it was now morning. Bell wand Lili were discussing something near the entrance of the dungeon.
Bell: Floor 10? Are you sure?
Lili: Yeah, you're tough enough to handle yourself there. Plus you have me to back you up.
Bell: Still, you already had to save me back on Floor 7, and...
An image of a minotaur flashed for a brief moment.
Bell: The bigger monsters start to show up.
Lili: That shouldn't be a problem now that you've got magic. *Posing*
Bell: Ehehe...
Lili: I've been as far as Floor 11 so you can trust me.
Back in the audience, many could see what was likely going to happen.
Bete: That's a trap if I've ever heard of one.
Tione: Definitely a trap.
All the other members of their Familia nodded in agreement. Back with Bell, Lili was being glared by Alfia and Hera once more.
Hera: The only reason that happened was because of how trusting he is.
Bell: I've gotten better at spotting lies, though.
Zeus: It certainly beats the you when you were smaller. I spent a lot of time trying to convince you that there was no transforming monster potatoes once it was time to harvest.
Welf: Wait, what?
Bell: *Blushing* Grandpa, no!!
Zeus: One of our neighbors played a prank on Bell and made him think some potatoes were fake. He carried big sticks with him thinking he had to fight some monster plant when it was near harvest time.
Meteria: Wait, is he joking?
Rolan: No.
Meteria: *Squeals* I have to see that!!
Many girls pictured that in their minds and blushed to themselves before they turned back to the screen. Eina could be seen walking to an elevator with some files in her hands.
Eina: I wanted to talk with Goddess Hestia, but who knew I had to do my inspection of Babel. Nevertheless, I have to warn her about Bell's supporter.
She turned to her left when she saw a flash of gold hair and met eyes with Ais. The screen changed to show Lili and Bell back in the dungeon as they descended a flight of stairs.
Lili: Thanks again for taking my suggestion, Master Bell. I feel pretty lucky being your supporter.
Bell: Well, I had to come here eventually.
Lili: Not to be too forward... *hands him another weapon*
Bell examines it as Lili explains herself.
Lili: Your old weapon is a bit too short for these monsters, so this should be better.
Bell: Okay, I'll use it for now.
Realizing his other holster was taken, he placed the blade in another pouch.
Lili: Master Bell... *Taps arm*
Elpis: And just who are you calling short?! Like you're one to talk!! You barely come up to my kneecaps!!
Bell: E-Elpis, she doesn't mean you here!
Zald: I do think Lili has a point there. A knife won't be a very good main weapon. At best, it should be in your off hand.
Alfia: He is correct. Perhaps you can have your friend forge a sword for you?
Bell turned to Welf who had a grin on his face.
Welf: It's your call, man. Say the word and I'll make it happen.
Bell: Well...
He turned to Elpis who had tears peaking from her eyes and a cute pout on her face.
Bell: *Patting her head* Don't worry, I'd never replace you, partner.
Elpis: Bell!! *Hugs him*
While that generated jealous glares, Bell was deep in thought about a sword.
Bell: Though, maybe dual wielding her and a sword could work.
Mikoto: A knife and a sword?
Hestia: Wait, I just had a thought!
Bell: What's up?
Hestia: If she grows along with you, then can't she just morph into a sword herself?
That got everyone thinking. The amount of versatility he could have would be astonishing.
Rolan: Bell has yet to reach a level of power to prove that. Though to be fair, there's nothing to disprove it either. You'll just have to wait and see.
Elpis: We'll work hard to see what happens!
Bell: *Nods*
Back on screen...
Seeing her sign, he swaps the knife on his arm with the other one.
Bell: You ready?
Lili: All set!
The screen changes back to the surface with Ais.
Ais: I saved one of your adventurers?
Eina: Yes, and I'm glad I can thank you in person. He was about to be killed by a minotaur before you stepped in.
Ais: Minotaur?
Eina: Yes, his name is Bell Cranel.
Ais: *Gasp*
She made a face that had Eina sweatdropping.
Eina: Miss Wallenstein?
Ais: Did I scare him?
Bete: PFFFT!!! Wait, you actually thought he was scared of you?!
Ais: He kept running away from me.
Riveria: Ais, he didn't do that because he was scared.
Ais: But he always had a scared look on his face.
Aria: Sweetie, that's because of his feelings. He was just surprised to see the girl he loved so close to him. I mean just take a look at him.
Ais did as her mother asked and looked at Bell who was talking with his family. As she stared, she felt her heart start racing and a blush appeared on her face.
Aria: You feel that?
Ais: Y-Yes.
Aria: Now picture yourself laying in his lap. I'm sure that feeling will be much closer the less distance you two have.
Ais pictured that and her face exploded in red as a result.
Aria: Now you see why he acts like that. Don't let it bother you too much, but you should try to make sure he can't run away.
Ais: I will!
She understood her mother's wisdom and turned back to the screen.
Eina: No no! He's fine, and actually, he appreciates everything you've done for him.
The girl's face brightens from this.
Ais: Really?
Eina: Yes!
Ais: That's a relief.
Off to the distance, Ais picks up Canoe talking with his goons about the plan to jump Lili in the dungeon. They hear about the ambush they plan to set up which has Eina worried.
Eina: That couldn't mean...
Ais: Is something wrong?
Eina: I apologize in advance, but may I ask for a favor?
Ais: ?
It shifted back to Bell and Lili who were on Floor 10.
Bell: Floor 10.
Lili: We've arrived at our goal for today.
Bell: Be sure to stay close to me.
Lili: Right.
Both were on guard when they heard loud footsteps approach them.
ROOAAAAAR*
Bell: That's a big one.
Lili: No isn't the time to falter.
Bell: I know. If Ican't beat an orc then the other monsters here will be big trouble. (Like that minotaur.)
He drew his blade, but was surprised when he saw the orc grab on of the tree and transform it into a club.
Bell: It's using that as a weapon!
Lili: It's coming!
The monster roared and rushed at them. The screen suddenly changed again to show Hestia busy at work.
Hestia: Can I help you, Miss Advisor?
Eina: This is important; I want to talk about Bell's new supporter. There's something dangerous about her.
The screen returns to Bell and Lili who were in the middle of battle. It showed Bell maneuvering around the orc and landing vital blows. He landed a cut on its side and legs before stabbing it one last time.
Bell: Got it!
Lili: Look out!
Bell saw another orc approaching them and raised his hand to it. He launched a firebolt towards it, but the monster shrugged it off until another finished it off.
Bell: Good, we're in the clear now!
He looked behind him and didn't see Lili there.
Bell: Lili?! Did they get her?
*Squish*
Bell: Huh?
He saw strange orbs on the ground around him and got anxious.
Bell: Monster lures?! What's happening?!
He didn't get much time to think as two more orcs began to close in on him.
Artemis: Oh no, Orion!!
Meteria: Can he handle all those by himself?!
On screen, he readied himself as they charged him.
Bell: Where is she?!
While looking for her, he tried to fire another spell at them before a third knocked him to the ground. His family gasped, worrying about him.
Bell: Lili!! Where'd you go?!
*Shwing* *Cut* *Cut*
Two arrows severed the belt around his waist before a third struck the pouch he had on his thigh. A string was attached to it and it was carried away.
Bell: What?!
When he saw where it landed, he saw Lili catch it with a smile on her face.
Bell: What the hell is going on?!
Lili: I'm really sorry about this, Master Bell, but this is the end of the line.
He dodged another blow from the orc as she kept talking on the ledge above him.
Lili: He told you everything, right?
He dodged more attacks before Lili stood up.
Lili: When you can, do what you can to escape. Good luck and goodbye.
Bell: Lili!! GH!! LILIII!!!
Everyone saw her walk away with closed eyes as Bell screamed in the distance. In the audience, the prum had her head down while many from Bell's family glared at her.
Alfia: ...
Bell: I swear, it won't be much longer.
Hera: Bell dear, I'm not sure how much more I can wait.
Hestia: Hera, I promise as their Goddess that you'll see very soon.
Hera tapped her foot impatiently as Zeus put his hand on her shoulder.
Zeus: It's only a little while longer.
Hera: I can't stand seeing Bell like this. All this suffering and it hasn't been that long.
Zeus: Yes, but you see how close everyone is there. The two will reconcile; just have some more patience.
Hera: ...alright.
Many others watched closely to see how the boy would turn out, mostly seeing if the boy would forgive her.
Epimetheus: (She's turned her back on you. It's your move now.)
Back in screen...
Lili could be seen running down a corridor. She pulled her hood off and chanted her spell.
Lili: You shouldn't have been so trusting. The clock strikes midnight Cinder Ella.
Her ears lit up before disappearing.
Argo: What was that?
Rolan: Transformation magic. She has the power to change her appearance however she wishes, to a certain extent.
This was a surprise to those who weren't aware of this.
Finn: (That explains how they got the drop on us back then. What an impressive spell.)
On screen...
Lili: This is your fault. None of this had to happen if you never met him. No, this is better. Remember, he's an adventurer. They always get what's coming to them.
Lili: (No, he's different from them. All of them are different.)
She pulled out the Hestia Knife and examined it.
Lili: I can sell a Hephaestus weapon just about anywhere. I might even be able to cover everything I need.
She hides the knife on her and gets back up.
Lili: I'm doing this to free myself. No price is too heavy if it means being g free of Soma and his Familia.
She shots several monsters as she makes her way back up. After running a bit, she falls to the ground when someone trips her.
Lili: Gah!! Ugh!!
Ged: Hehe, it's my lucky day.
*Kick*
Lili: Gah!!!
Ged: You've been nothing but a pain in my ass you damn prum!!
He kept kicking her before grabbing her hair and lifting her. Lili could only cry out in pain while she was toyed with. Her friends growled in disgust watching all this happen. All the kids were fuming in anger at the scene. Alise and Celdia had trouble controlling themselves as they blocked the view of their youngest siblings.
Ged: Figures you'd ditch that brat by now. One net was all I needed for this.
Lili: Gh! What?
Ged: This floor only has some many paths out, so I only needed for including myself. Still, here you are crawling right to me!!
He grabbed her cloak and ripped it off her body to check out the loot hiding inside.
Ged: Hey, this is some nice stuff!
He kicked her in the face again before grabbing something from inside it.
Mikoto: That man must pay!
Welf: Agreed! No treats our Familia member like that and gets away with it!
Lili: Master Welf won't have to worry about that. You'll see soon.
Lyd: I hope so. I can hardly contain myself just watching this.
Gros: It's adventurers like them that deserve the harshest deaths.
Ray: It saddens me when you think about how many of these types there are.
Wiene: They're so mean.
Many more them cursed the adventurers mistreating Lili on screen, but Rolan was eyeing a certain black minotaur who stared at the raccoon man.
Asterius: (I'm getting the weirdest feeling of deja mustard right now.)
Rolan: (He doesn't know he killed him in a past life.)
Ged: Wow, a magic knife?!
Canoe: You getting ready to head out, pal?
He turned and saw Canoe show up along with his friends, Kayak and Dinghy.
AN: Not official names, but you get the idea.
Lili watched helplessly on the floor as her enemies surround her.
Ged: Hey, you guys made it. You weren't kidding about the good stuff this runt is carrying. She even had a magic knife on her.
Canor: Ain't that swell. One thing, can you do me one teensy favor?
He had a dark look on his face while Ged looked at him questioningly.
Canoe: I need you to give me everything she's got!!
He threw the bag he was carrying which was revealed to be the head of a killer ant which startled Ged.
Ged: What the hell?! Are you out of your minds?!
Meteria: What in the world?! Why did they keep that alive?!
Welf: That's not good.
Meteria: What is it?
Bell: You see, there's a thing about killer ants...
Canoe: A good adventurer knows that wounded killer ants call on more of their kind.
Meteria: Oh...
Canoe: It'd be a shame if you got yourself killed trying to fight is for this loot.
Seeing his point, Ged throws the knife to the ground before running away.
Ged: Damn you!
*Gets himself killed*
Lili heard his cry and to the side, another killer ant appeared with fresh blood on it.
Bete: Good riddance.
Tiona: He won't be missed.
Canoe: I see you're in quite the pickle here. Were all in the same Familia, so you know what you need to do to get out of here. That is, unless you think you can cheat us again.
He held the magic knife to her throat as Lili gave him a special key.
Lili: Fine, you can take it!!
Canoe: That's more like it.
He yanked the key from her neck before picking her up by her hood.
Canoe: Take a look around us for a sec.
When she did, she saw how the whole room was surrounded by killer ants from the walls to the ceiling.
Canoe: I reckon you'd make good bait.
Her eyes widened in fear as she turned to him.
Meteria: What?! He used her as bait?!
Bell was gritting his teeth as he watched what happened to Lili while he was still heading there.
Lili: NO!!! You said you would-
Canoe: It's about time you did your job for us and keep these things busy while we get out of here, hahahaha!!!
With that, he tossed her to a wall. She hit the ground with a thud before the killer ants began to close in on her.
Tione: That rotten bastard!!
Finn: Treating a fellow prum like that, unforgivable!
With Astraea...
Lyra: I can't stand seeing this happen! I'm getting so pissed watching them do that to her!
Astraea: I hope justice is served and swiftly.
Ryuu: I might just do it myself.
Rolan: Oh, justice will be served, don't you worry.
He gestured to Asterius making everyone confused.
Asterius: What?
Rolan: It'll make sense in the next part.
Lili: I guess Ishould've expected this from adventurers. This seems pretty fair for me. I deserve this for betraying Master Bell, but Idon't want to give up. Why does it have to be like this? Why do I have to be alone? It won't matter anymore since I'm going to die here. Weak, helpless and alone. I'm going to die. It's over.
Tiona: Come on, you can't just give up!!
Tione: I don't know, this looks pretty hopeless.
Finn: Not quite.
Gareth: Finn?
Finn: Just watch. *Licks thumb*

Mikoto: Lady Lili!!!
Haruhime: Oh no!!
Welf: Damn, this is gonna be close.
On screen, Lili was brought out of her thoughts when she heard someone cry out.

The dust from the monster cleared and Lili saw Bell standing by the corridor.
Welf: There he is!
Mikoto: Yes, right on time!
Zeus: *Grinning* The hero has arrived.
Lefiya: Wait, how did he get there?! Wasn't surrounded by orcs on Floor 10?!
Rolan: He was.
Ais: I was there when he was fighting.
Meteria: You helped my son?
Ais: I only cleared some of the monsters there. I was quite surprised when I saw him holding his own well when I arrived.
Albert: Was it what impressive?
Ais: It took me months to get that far into the dungeon. I even had help with me and he did it all on his own.
Aria: That's so impressive!
Loki: No doubt the work of that skill. That boy pushes himself half to death all the time and get over double the pay off.
Riveria: It really is too bad he isn't with us.
Loki: Gah, don't remind me! Itty-Bitty will never let me live this down.
The screen shifted back to Hestia and Eina at the shop.
Eina: Please, it's in Bell's best interest if that supporter wasn't with him.
Hestia: Sorry, no can do.
Eina: Huh?
Hestia: His mind was made up; Ican't do anything about that. No matter what, he isn't leaving her.
While she spoke, everyone could see Bell fighting his way through the army of ants to get in front of Lili.
Alise: Damn, look at him go!
Lyra: He's a spirited one.
Ryuu: (Reminds of of when I was the one he was coming back for.)
The put her hands to her heart as she recalled how the boy came to her rescue, though the prum's shock and confusion was replaced by horror and anger.
Bell: Goddess, even so, I want to help that girl. I see she's lonely, like me before I met you.
The fight was fierce, but eventually he was able to defeat them all and save them both.
Bell: Whew, that was a close one. Are you alright?
Lili: Master Bell? How did you get here?
Bell: Well, the fog made it hard to see, but another adventurer came to help me. The orcs disappeared and ran over here. I'mreally glad I made it in time.
Lili: Why?
Bell: Huh?
Lili: Why did you save me when you know Ishould've died?!
Bell: What are you talking about?
Lili: Don't screw with me!! You know full well that I was trying to steal from you!! I tricked you and stole your knife just so I could make some money.
Bell: Ugh!
She angrily threw the knife at him before continuing.
Lili: What is wrong with you?! Are you stupid?! How can you be this blind?!
Bell: Uh, you need to calm down.
Lili: I can't calm down!! I stole so much money that should've been yours!! Whenever I split our earning, I made them 60/40 in favor of me!! I even went 70/30!!! When you asked me for items, I always charged you double!!! I've said horrible things about you behind your back!!! Can't you see, I'm a horrible person!!! A worthless prum that's done nothing but lie to you!!! Even so, you still saved me.
Bell: Yup!
Lili: WHY?!
Bell: *Blushing* Because you're a girl.
Zeus: A perfect response, my boy.
Hermes: *Clapping* Bravo!
Hera: Yup, you are definitely his Grandson.
Bell just lowered his head and blushed as many of his friends laughed at his response.

Astraea: That was... unexpected.
Kaguya: Not something a boy his age would say.
Alise: I think it's still pretty funny. You're after a strange one, Lion.
Ryuu: *Blushing* Yes, but he's still a hero in every right.
Lili: MY GODS!!! HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT?! YOU MEAN YOU'LL SAVE ANYONE SO LONG AS THEY'RE A GIRL!!! NOW I SEE YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A PLAYBOY!!! PERVERT!!!
Tears kept flowing down her face as her rant continued. She threw insult after insult at the boy, but none of them fazed him in the slightest.
Bell: It's because it was you.
Lili: Huh?
Bell: That's the truth. I wanted to do it because it was you, Lili. You were enough of a reason. I didn't want you to die.
Lili began sobbing louder as Bell said his piece.
Bell: Lili, whenever you're in trouble, you can tell me. I never told you and I probably should've told you sooner, but I'll always be there for you.
That had broken the rest of her defenses and she threw herself into him and cried her heart out. Bell put his arm around her and pat her head while she cried.
Bell: It's going to be ok, now.
Finn: No I see why she rejected me.
Gareth: She what?
Tione: She was after you?!
Finn: No, it was the other way around. I wanted her because I saw many good things in her, but she was adamant about Mr. Cranel and I now see why. That moment is where all the love started. I never had a chance with her since she already chose her hero. Part of me is glad I got to see the boy's first heroic feat of many.

The girl had never feared for her life more than in this very moment as she dreaded the next episode that would inevitably come.
