Quirk: Chakra

Author's Notes: Hey guys. So, listen. This story has been on my mind for over a week now and in my head it is complete. I just need to put my thoughts on a digital paper and I have an actually completed story. This story may take a lot of chapters. I will put an estimate at 70 chapters, could be more. Unlike my other story, I will try to keep it in a single, first person view.

My other story, A Little Help, won't suffer because of it and I will try to upload new chapters for both of them every week. I have gotten some relief in life and will make some time for writing instead of surfing web aimlessly.

This will have some gore and adult scenes so I just wanted to give everyone a warning. Not this chapter, though. First few chapters are clean. Enjoy. And please, drop a review if you think there is place for improvement.

Chapter 1: Reunion with an old friend.

Dagobah Beach.

I was just on a mindless stroll out in the neighborhood that turned into a jog. As I was passing by the local beach that was supposed to be a dump, one that I haven't seen for quite some time, I saw that someone was cleaning it. Immediately I spotted a mop of green in the parking lot. Not many people had green hair, and I remembered an old friend from elementary school. Approaching this person I came to realization that this was indeed that kid.

"Good morning, Izuku.", I called out just meters away from him. For some reason he jumped and dropped the rusted microwave that he was loading onto the truck and fearfully turned around. Upon seeing me his eyes lit up in recognition. I was surprised that he remembered me after so long.

"Reito, almost d-didn't recognize you t-there. G-good m-m-morning", he replied. I see that his stutter and shyness hasn't gone away.

"How are you doing.", I said as I looked around the beach then turned back to him, "And what are you doing, this early in the morning?"

"Uh… this… this is a t-training regime All- m-my coach gave me.", he said. His voice was meek and he seemed like he was trying to hide something. He almost said something regarding "All". I let it slide.

"You haven't answered my first question, which was 'How are you?'", I pointed out. He looked apologetic and rub the back of his head.

"O-oh, I'm… I'm doing great, how about you?"

It seemed like I was preventing him from doing something important so I wanted to wrap this conversation up. But meeting an old friend kind of made me nostalgic of the childhood bliss. "Just jogging along the coast, trying to clear my mind of all the responsibilities. Life stuff, you know."

"I see. Oh yes! I almost forgot, you were a late bloomer, right? What quirk did you end up with?", he asked with eagerness and knowing his previous self I knew that this will take a while and assumed that he didn't have anything important going on right now.

"Ah, my quirk. To be honest it's kind of weird, in a positive sense, mind you. You know that one manga from before quirks first appeared, Naruto was it's name.", he nodded, urging me to continue, "Well my quirk is similar to Chakra from that story."

His eyes lit up in delight. I groaned in my head, 'Oh lord he has become even worse with his obsession.'

Forgoing his shyness and lack of confidence, he quickly jumped in my face and started rapid firing question regarding my quirk, "Really? Does that mean you can do Ninjutsu? What about Taijutsu? Or Genjutsu? Do you have a Kekkei Genkai? Can you sense chakra? Does that mean you don't have an upper to strength? Can-"

Before his questions got out of hand I placed my hand over his mouth. I sighed. Then I noticed that from somewhere, he had pulled out a notebook marked "13 v2". Quickly guessing it's reason for existence and marveling at the amount of information he had gathered I sighed again. "Dude, take a chill pill. I will answer every single one of your questions."

"Sorry. I got a little bit excited."

"Don't worry about it. It's nice to see your obsession hasn't gone away at all. In fact, it has grown considerably.", I pointed out with a warm smile. It was really nice to see him. "Now, onto answers. Yes, I can do Ninjutsu. No, I don't actually know how to fight but I'm learning. No. Fourth was about Kekkei Genkai? No, I don't have that. Yes, I can sense Chakra and make out facial features with my eyes closed. Maybe, I haven't tried it yet."

Throughout my answers he kept furiously writing down in his notebook. When he was done he looked up at me but I raised a hand, "Please don't. I haven't had much sleep and using more of my brain would just hurt me.", with that curt denial to answering more question he visibly deflated, so I tried to lighten up his mood. "By the way, you take notes on every quirk you comes across?", a nod in response, "And you write those down with as much details as you did mine?"

"Well, this was j-just scratching the surface, so to speak. I usually do a lot more than just ask questions. I theorize how their quirks can be used and what sort of support item would be better for that person."

"Damn. Izuku, that's awesome. You got more brains than brawn. And I can see that you are gaining brawn as well.", I said pointing out towards the trash piles, "You trying to become a force of nature?"

"Haha… Kinda…"

"Enough about me, bro. What about you? What's your quirk?", I asked. My question must have hit a sore spot for him as he shrunk in himself considerably. "Sorry, Izuku. My bad.", I tried to placate him realizing what his silence meant. Then his face lit up with determination.

"Don't worry. I may not have a quirk but I still want to be the best hero. And I will show the world that you don't need a quirk to become one!", he pumped his fist into the air. Seeing that he was okay I switched back to my joking self.

"You really think you can get into UA without a quirk?"

His eyes widened, "H-how do y-you know that?", he demanded.

I rolled my eyes, "Bro, you just said that that you want to be the best hero. And I know that is the only high school capable of producing best heroes."

"Oh… Yeah, that makes sense.", he said with realization. "So what do you want to do?"

"Honestly, becoming a hero is not for me, too many restrictions. But my father and I have made a bet, if I passed UA's entry exam then I will become a hero. If not then I can choose whatever job I want. The reason for that is father wanted to be a hero but failed and begrudgingly took a regular job. Now he wants me to fulfill his dream."

"Do you want that?"

"Honestly, I don't want to let dad down. So, I will give it my all in the entry exam, and hey, I might have you as a classmate."

"Haha… I don't know…"

"Hey Now, don't wuss out on me. We have met after what, like 6 years, and you're already fed up with me?"

"Oh. No. That's not it. It's just, I'm not sure I will pass."

"Don't fret it. What are you doing training for, to pass, and that's what you will do. And you will have me anyway, I will help you out in the practical part of the exam."

"That's really not nece-"

"I'm not hearing it. My only friend in the world doesn't want me by his side. What ever will I do!?", I cried out in mock disbelief.

"F-friends?"

His question made me angry. Not at him. Someone else. Has he suffered so much that he hasn't made any friends at all? At the hands of that idiot? Granted I don't have any friend of my own, but our reasoning are completely different. I school my expression and addressed him, "Yes, friend. I don't actually have any friend after elementary school was over. So, when I meet you again, of course I will consider you my friend."

I saw a complex of emotion flash on his features. Pain, relief, loneliness, happiness, joy. Before he could start his signature water-works I changed the subject looking to the former beach. "So, helping out the community and training combo?"

"Yes, something like that. Coach told me-", before he could finish, we saw a blur land in a small patch of sand, kicking up dust and obscuring the person from view. I turned to Izuku and saw fear or dread on his face. To protect ourselves I squared up, preparing to face the threat.

A few second later we heard a loud voice, belonging to the person that landed a ways away. "Young Midorya, I have brought some…", the voice stopped, almost choking on their own spit when the dust cloud dissipated. I saw him. He was a well built man towering over me in height, his face wore a large smile that was faltering and his blond hair were sticking out like antennae… wait. Antennae? Large grin? Blond hair? The fuck… This… this was All "Fucking" Might.

My eyes became a replica of saucers. I robotically turned to Izuku, who was hiding his face in his palms. Unable to formulate any question, I turned but to All Might, who was sputtering something, obviously caught off guard.

"HUHH!?", I screamed.

"So, this is your coach?", I asked Izuku who nodded slowly. I turned towards the sickly man sitting in front of me to my friend's right. "And you are All Might?", a stupid question. I knew he was the real deal. No way someone could survive an injury like that. To my question, the man nodded slowly.

"I see.", said I, "Well, whatever. You were never my favorite hero either way.", I told the man, who looked at me in surprise and Izuku looked at me like I had grown a second head. "My favorites include most of the underground heroes such as Eraser Head, Tail-lock and the like."

After the initial confusion had evaporated All Might, real name Toshinori Yagi, sat me down on the patch of sand where he landed and explained to me the reason he was training Izuku, the reason he looks like how he looks like, the event where Izuku inspired All Might. To be honest, this was mind numbing. I got what they were saying but it took a lot of brain power to really understand what they were saying.

"So, what are you going to do, young Sakazuki?"

Instead of showing a normal reaction I flashed him a grin. "I want you to allow me to help Izuku and train by myself here."

"And… why do you want that? I can train you myself, just like your friend."

"Your fighting style doesn't suit me.", I raised on finger from my fist, which I was holding up beside my head, "I don't really like the way you solve crime.", I raised another finger, "You are too much of a showboat for my liking.", and another. With every finger raised he was deflated further and further, "Izuku is my friend. I want to help him but not hog his time.", another finger raised, which made the man quirk an eyebrow, "My aunt keeps bugging me so I want a place to stay away from her so I can focus on training."

I can see my reasoning was acceptable in his eyes, apart from the initial three. "Alright, you can join us whenever you want."

"B-but All Might, what about-", Izuku was shushed before he could ask what he wanted to.

"Don't worry, young Midorya. I'll allow it.", the man said meeting Izuku's eyes and giving him a silent assurance, to which my friend nodded.

"So, then. Shall we get started?", said I and quickly got up to do my warm ups.

"What plan are you following, young Sakazuki?", All Might asked me.

"You know the martial artist from pre-quirk era, Bruce Lee? I will be following his guidance through his book 'Tao in Jeet Kune Do'. He is my favorite from back then."

"I see. Yes, I am aware of his training routine, my master tried that out with me but it didn't stick. Can you handle it?"

"Of course. It's not as hard as your Aim to Pass: American Dream Program."

"Haha… that's true."

So we went to do our own things, All Might training Izuku by having him drag various stuff while he is sitting on top, and me going through the stances I learned and trying to aim for perfection with them after my warm up. Occasionally I helped Izuku with heavier trash, like abandoned vehicles, large fridges, and such.

Since today was Sunday, neither of us had school today. He invited me to his home and we went there jogging all the way. Arriving at the Midorya household he unlocked the door and ushered me inside. "Mom. I'm home.", he called out.

Setting aside my shoes I looked up to see Mrs. Midorya. Since I was a chakra sensor, I felt a heap of warmth emanating from her. It was drawing me in. Before I could think about it I found myself approaching her. Arriving just in front of her I forcefully stopped myself lest I unintentionally hugged her. "Good Morning, Mrs. Midorya.", I curtsied as she got a confused look on her motherly face.

It was something about her Chakra that was quite… warm. Like a mother's touch, which I never felt. Shaking myself out of my reverie I look up at her as Izuku introduced me. "Mom, this is Reito, Sakazuki Reito. You remember him?"

"Oh. Reito-kun. You have grown. I didn't recognize you. How are you? And call me Inko.", she asked politely.

"I'm doing fine, Inko-san."

"This is quite a surprise, Izuku. Where'd you find him?"

"I was training on the beach I told you about and he was passing by. We caught up as we went through our own regimes."

"Oh, how nice. You two should be hungry. I have breakfast ready. You two can go take showers and come to table.", she said as she turned around and went to the kitchen.

We both went towards the bathroom. Before we reached there, however Izuku asked me a question, "Were you in trance, back there?"

"Huh. Oh, yeah. Remember how I told you I can sense chakra? Hers gave off a quite strong motherly warmth.", I told him as my expression turned solemn. He was quick to realize, or rather remember, that I didn't have a mother and quickly tried to change subject.

"A-anyway, you can go first. I'll wait in my room.", he said then realized something, "You don't have clothes to change into. You can borrow mine if you want."

"Thanks, buddy. I owe you one.", I accepted his offer and went into the bathroom. Coming out I found a t-shirt and knickers folded just outside the door. I picked them up and donned them. Looking at the mirror I saw what was written on the t-shit. 'It says, "t-shirt". How funny.' I thought dryly and went out towards the dining table.

The breakfast was a pleasant experience. I told them a bit about myself, they told me a lot about themselves, I ate in moderation following my diet plan. There wasn't much meat but I can always grab a protein bar from a store to make up the difference. Midorya family was quite talkative, they didn't have many visitors and due to Izuku's difficult life they didn't have anyone to talk to. As a social introvert myself, my heart went out to them.

After that was over we exchanged good byes and exited the premises with a promise to visit again.

A month later.

I could tell that my friend was dead tired and was barely scraping his stamina to get the task done. As I was also running beside him with a tire on my shoulder, following All Might through a path that was lined with Sakura trees. It was spring and I was quite energetic today. The beautiful spring breeze wafted through my luscious locks, making them flail and shine with the sunlight.

As we were running, Izuku suddenly collapsed, causing All Might to turn back and look at him. "Young Midorya, have you been doing exercises behind my back?"

I let go of the tire and bent down to look at him. He was panting heavily and his eyes were barely open. "That's the first thought that went through your head when your student collapsed on his fucking face?", I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No, actually this is the third thought that went through my head. And I have no reason to care for him if he is destroying his body on his own."

He had a point, don't know why he was being this cold all of a sudden, though. "Yes, but maybe a little concern first before you berate him?", I suggested.

The man sighed as he stepped off his hover board and approached Izuku.

"I-I'm f-fine, All Might. I can go on.", said my friend.

"No, you cannot. We will take a 15 minute break once we get back to the beach. There we will have a talk."

Without saying a word, I picked him up and the two tires on my opposite shoulders and continued my run. Honestly, after my own training my strength had increased considerably alongside my stamina. The weight I was carrying did give me some trouble but it wasn't something I couldn't handle.

When we reached the beach, I dropped off the tires in the parking lot and took Izuku to the shore and laid him out on his back. All Might sat beside him crossing his legs and his arms. "Young Midorya, I get it that you want to catch up to others with your training, but overworking your body has the opposite effect. Understand me?"

Izuku was just staring at the rising sun silently.

"You have been motivated since the beginning and I respect that. Heck, you have showed me that I have been lacking in my duties as a hero. You have inspired me. So, please, don't let me down."

Izuku still remained silent but I could see his eyes turning wet.

"You think of yourself as weak. Not that you aren't, but you have shown great improvement. You aren't as weak as before. And by the time entrance exams arrive you will be more than ready with my plan. I have created it with your specification in mind. So, please, don't overwork yourself. You are doing great as you are."

After a moment of silence Izuku spoke, "I'm sorry…"

"Sorry is right. Because that's the state you will be in when the exams arrive.", All Might said as he looked at him, "Forget fifteen minutes. Take the rest of the day off.", he then turned to me, "If you don't mind young Sakazuki, would you take Midorya home. Yours is closer than his."

"Of course. You can count on me.", I replied.

"Thank you.", he said and turned back to Izuku, "And this time, young man, I mean it when I say rest your body."

Izuku met his eyes with drying tears, "I won't let you down again."

"You haven't and I trust you not to disappoint me in the future either."

With that I took Izuku home, and All Might buffed up and leapt away. Three blocks later we arrived at my home. I took him inside keeping him hoisted on my shoulder, and laid him out on the sofa.

"What happened to Izuku, Reito?", came a feminine voice. This was my aunt who has taken care of me in my mother's absence. Her and her husband had always lived with us. I have two little cousins as well, Enma and Haruka. Dad has always stayed busy but still made time for me. That's all I asked of him, really. She on the other hand may have taken my mother's role, but due to lacking some core things, like understanding of my nature, likes and dislikes and hobbies, I would never call her a true mother. She's kind of a weird woman, though she has never mistreated me, she has ignored my protestations and dragged me into social situations when I didn't want to meet anyone. Even with a hundred flaws I would never say I hate her. In fact I love her for who she is.

"Nothing, just lost his breath during a spar.", I lied. If I had told her the truth she would have berated the poor guy and I didn't want that to happen so I diverted her attention towards me.

"You hurt him!? Reito, how can you do that to your friend? Oh my.", she said as she approached Izuku and knelt down to check him over. The guy flashed me a look of appreciation, knowing her nature during the last month. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you badly? Why would you do this, Reito?", she turned around to ask me, seemingly forgetting that she was giving a check up to Izuku.

"It was an accident. I pushed him too hard, but I didn't physically hurt him. He's just out of stamina, auntie.", I pleaded my case against her.

"Still, you should be careful.", she said, admitting defeat and rose to her feet. "Anyway, breakfast is ready, if you two want some. Izuku, tell your mother you are staying over for the day, you need to recover."

"I already did, Haruna-san.", he lied. When she went around the corner he quickly whipped out his phone and texted his mother. If he hadn't lied my aunt would have turned around and make him send her various messages in her stead.

"I'll go ahead and shower. Until then you can rest, bro. You can go second.", I told him.

"Thanks, bud."

"Hey, guys.", called my father as he approached the table, where auntie, uncle, my cousins and I were sitting at, "How was your training? Ready to take on the UA entrance exam?"

"Dad, it's nine months away, we barely just got started.", I told him rolling my eyes.

"Oh I know. Just trying to psyche you two up.", he replied.

"You shouldn't do that, Kahiko. Our Reito-kun have hurt Izuku in a fight.", auntie interjected.

"Is that right?", dad asked me with a wink. I got his message and tried to play it up.

"Yeah, he was being a jerk so I socked him on the nose and put him in a headlock until he passed out."

"Aha! Now you speak the truth. I knew something was up.", auntie exclaimed, to which everyone other than her laughed heartily. She looked everywhere in confusion then realized her mistake and turned her glare at me. "That's not funny, Reito."

"What are you talking about, honey? It was damn funny.", said uncle Sato, trying to stifle his laughter.

Her glare was then turned to him which made him immediately shut up, "I will talk to you later.", she said in a menacing voice, which made him gulp. The children began laughing anew at their father's predicament.

"Oh, come on, auntie. You have to admit it was funny.", I told her. Instead of answering she just sat back down with a huff.

"Anyway, Izuku was just out of breath during our spar and I had to cut our session short and take him here."

"Is he overworking himself?", my dad deduced.

"Is it t-that obvious?", asked Izuku meekly.

"Son, I know what over working feels like. I had three chances to pass the entrance exam in UA and I failed all three times. Each time I increased my training and over worked myself more and more, until I wasn't able to even fight during the practical exam the last time around. Take my advice kid, rest often, don't forget you're a human."

"I will, sir."

After that breakfast was a pleasant time. When we finished I took Izuku to my room to play some video games. I beat him every time in Shot Wheels Competitive and he was absolutely furious by the end.

Later in the afternoon, he went back to his home and I called in an early night, I didn't give a fuck that the sun was still out. I was exhausted after our gaming session and in seconds I was out like a bulb. What can I say. It's an intense game.
