It was already late at night when Tsuna decided to part ways with Hayato and Takeshi who were unwilling to let him go until the very end. They even insisted on the brunet spending the night at their shared apartment, as they had done during their school days. Tsuna refused, knowing better than to impose on the pair.

Tsuna understands how rare it is for those two to be together even at home with how hectic things have been at the company. He's not so cruel as to deprive them both of quality time together every once in a while.

Now that he is finally alone, he can't help but feel a bit empty. Every now and then, he would glance at the people walking by the streets, different colors of strings attached on their pinky, some connected to someone else, but some merely dangling, possibly because they have not met the people it is meant to be attached to.

There are various colors in the strings of fate. Some colors represent good luck, while others bring ill fortune.

From among the various hues of strings, a red string is the most prevalent. It is also the string that is most sought-after by people who want to live happily ever after similar to those found in the fairy tales they have read.

Tsuna was jolted out of his thoughts by a continuous honking; it was the cab he called for to send him home. In normal times, he would have chosen to walk back home since the district center is not too far from where he lives, but his best friends have persuaded him to make a promise to take a taxi at least and even compelled him to call one in front of them which left him with no choice but to comply.

Upon entering the vehicle, Tsuna greeted the driver and told him his address before losing himself to the evening scenery of the district. The sound of the moving vehicle eventually lulled him to sleep, his body finally succumbing to exhaustion from days of drowning himself in work. He was only able to wake up when the cab driver softly tapped him to let him know they had arrived.

Tsuna added a little extra to the payment and thanked him before entering the building where his unit was located. The security officer that was stationed to keep watch for the night and several personnel greeted the brunet upon seeing his arrival which he reciprocated with a simple smile and nod before making his way to the elevator.

He pushed the "up" button and waited for the metal doors to open with patience. The brunet was so exhausted that he failed to notice the presence of someone behind him.

Only when the doors opened and someone entered ahead of him that he suddenly became aware of his surroundings. Hurrying inside, he peered up at the tall person in a daze, clearly admiring his stature and overall appearance. The person was dressed in a silk red garb and partnered with white baggy pants. It seemed like he was of Chinese descent and for some reason, there was something familiar about his appearance, except for his long hair which was braided, and the calm aura around him.

Tsuna's face flushed in embarrassment after being caught staring foolishly at the other man who merely gazed at him questioningly.

The person silently chuckled in amusement. "Which floor?" Even his voice sounded soothing as if it were meant to console anyone he was speaking to.

"Ah, 27th floor, please," The person merely smiled at him softly as he pressed the said button while Tsuna, despite every urge to slap his face for acting like a creep in front of the beautiful man, looked away, cheeks still harboring a red hue.

The elevator ride was deafeningly silent, and Tsuna wanted nothing more than to arrive at his unit's floor and avoid more embarrassment. A chime reverberated in the enclosed space as the doors finally opened almost as if his prayers had been heard. Nodding at the other man, Tsuna took this chance to bolt out, speed-walking down the hallway to get to his unit as quickly as possible.

He can't believe he let himself get caught fantasizing about a man he just met like that. Was he that sexually frustrated? True, he has an outstanding appearance and exudes a sensual charm, but that doesn't mean he can just stand there and check him out so openly.

'What if he thinks I'm a creep? No, no, it's not likely that our paths will cross again. We don't even live on the same floor, let's just forget about it.'

When his unit came in sight, Tsuna's stride started to slow down, sighing as he ran a hand through his hair. Once the brunet got to his unit, he immediately entered the code when he heard a familiar voice that briefly made him freeze.

"What a coincidence, it seems that we're neighbors as well," The guy from the elevator spoke from the opposite direction of his unit. How Tsuna did not even notice him, he'd blame it on the guy's featherweight footsteps.

Though it had slipped his memory, Tsuna had heard that someone was moving into the unit opposite his; he didn't anticipate embarrassing himself so quickly. Tsuna whirled around, a timid look on his face. "Hello, my name is Fon, I'll be occupying this unit from today. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." The Chinese man offered him a courteous bow, his hands tucked in his sleeves, and a soft smile plastered across his beautiful face.

Tsuna blinked, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. The embarrassment from before had been briefly forgotten as he let himself drown in the other man's gentleness. "Hello, I'm Sawada Tsunayoshi. It's also a pleasure to meet you."
