It was 20 years ago in the Healing Room in the Demon Realm and a lightly tanned skin baby witch was being handed to Edalyn Clawthorne whom was in a gurney with her arms out.
"Come here little one." Eda said.
"Don't worry, she's a coming." Emira assured her patient as she handed the baby to her. "And there she is, a Clawthorne. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go looking for my wallet." She left the room so Eda can get to know her newborn baby daughter.
She looked at the baby and gave a tearful smile. The baby had lightly tanned skin just like her Mom and ZiZi, golden eyes just like her mother, ears like her ZiZi and light orange hair with a tint of teal as well.
"Hello there you mischief maker." Eda said. "You have the look of your Mama and ZiZi. But, unfortunately I'm gonna have to teach you the right morales and give you the correct advice…." She then noticed that the baby had a wallet in her hand.
Eda, after nine months of carrying this little tyke, in that moment, knew that this kid was 100% her daughter. She smiled lovingly and kissed her forehead. "Awww! Baby's first pickpocket."
In that moment, Luz, Raine, Lilith, Hooty and King entered looking excited. "Hey Eda!"
"Where's my niece?!" Lilith exclaimed.
"Can I kiss her forehead?!" Hooty exclaimed loudly.
"How is she Eda?" Raine asked as they approached their wife.
"She's healthy, beautiful and already a little troublemaker." She placed the wallet by her side of the bed while Raine just rolled their eyes.
"Of course she takes after her mother." Raine said.
"Well Rainestorm, do you wish to hold her?"
Raine happily obliged and took their daughter in their arms. They smiled lovingly at her admiring how much she looked like a perfect mixture of the both of them. But then, something worrying came to their mind that their smile vanished.
"Awww! Look at her!" Luz exclaimed. "Hi, little sister! My name's Luz."
"And I'm King your big brother."
"And I'm your Cool Aunt Lilith." Lilith said before doing a point click which made King cringe.
"No, Lilith. Never do that again." King pleaded.
"What?" Lilith asked. "It's my thing." She did it again, causing Eda, Luz and King to groan.
"Not to self: I'll never do that if me and Amity decide to have kids." Luz said.
While everyone was discussing about Lilith's point and click, Raine was in their own thoughts as they held their child in their arms. Feelings of worry and fear.
"Look, your kid will love it." Lilith said. "See?" She did the point click thing again which caused the baby to start crying.
"Oh Lilith, you made her cry!" Eda exclaimed angrily. "Rainestorm." They handed the baby to their wife whom began to coo the baby to calm her down. "Come on. Calm down sweetie. Rock, rock, maternal gesture. Your Aunt Lilith is once again causing trouble for the Clawthornes like she did with Mommy."
Lilith rolled her eyes. "Had to bring that up."
"Hey you four, could you leave?" Raine asked. "Me and Eda just need to talk."
"Aww! Can I hold her?!" Luz asked.
"Luz, in a minute." Raine gave Luz a serious look which Luz, Lilith and King understood.
"Okay, Raine." Luz said with a nod. "You got it."
Luz, Lilith and King began to leave while Hooty just cried. "Why?! Why?! Why?! I never got the chance to hold her!"
Raine was confused for a moment about what Hooty said but then went back to being concerned as they turned to their wife whom managed to get the baby to calm down.
"Hey Raine, since our little girl is a troublemaker how about we call her, Ronda?" Eda suggested. "Ronda Gwendolyn Clawthorne."
Raine gave their wife a worried smile. "Ronda is a perfect name."
Eda knew from her spouse's expression that something was wrong and began to worry. "Raine, what's wrong? Is it Ronda? Was being too old to have her the problem?"
"It's not that, Eda." Raine replied. "It's that she's part you and you know what this means."
Eda realised what this meant in that moment. The curse. Her curse had been passed down on her daughter. "The curse." As she panicked, some feathers began to sprout from her arm.
Raine quickly summoned their wife's elixir and handed it to her. She drank it with one big gulp causing the feathers to go down. "Yeah, I see what you mean Rainestorm. She's going to suffer such a terrible burden. But I don't care. Because this little girl is going to grow up happy and healthy and with amazing parents and surrounded by people that love her. I know she will." She kissed her daughter's forehead causing her to coo a little.
