Leaning my head against my fist, I stare at the sleeping woman in my bed. Her chest moves up and down every time she breathes.

'How the hell am I supposed to broach this topic? Yeah, your baby is a fucking space alien that could destroy your world.' Shaking my head at the stupid thought, I notice the rest of my group still hasn't woken up. 'Your thoughts 2B?'

"What are you doing this for?"

'W-What?'

"As of today, you've known her for a week. In that time, your interactions have been short and very surface level, other than that time she offered to sleep with you, and even that was only because she couldn't pay you back in any other way. So I have to ask, why go so far for her?"

'...Do I really need a reason to help som-'

"Cut the bullshit, Ren. You're not some shounen or isekai Protagonist."

'Actually. Technically speaking…right sorry.' I could practically feel the dry stare coming from across the dimensions. 'She's a vileblood, whatever that is. I've wanted to ask her about it since we first met, but I never could due to stuff I was doing.'

'And that's more than enough reason for me. I'm interested in this world's lore and possible reasons as to why those eldritch beings are here.'

"I can't believe you just called this world's rich history, Lore."

"...What else am I supposed to call it?"

"If anyone else were to hear Betty's Contractor just now, they would assume he was not of a sound mind. Scratch that, he may not actually be. In fact." Beatrice says from my lap, writing in a notebook.

"That's mean. What did I do now? For you to be treating me like this?"

"Nothing yet, and that worries Betty."

"I'm starting to miss the cute and affectionate Beatrice. I don't like this rebellious phase you're in."

"Hmph, Betty is still as cute as ever, even in her "rebellious phase", as Betty's Contractor put it." That's certainly true, her smug smirk is very adorable. "And Betty only acts this way because her Contractor is a shameless fool. As such, it is Betty's job to make sure he doesn't make any more mistakes."

'Well, you've already failed. God, how the hell am I supposed to explain the fact I'm two-timing her mother. Actually, how the hell am I supposed to tell Echidna? "Sorry, I couldn't handle my urges. I now have 14 girlfriends." …Let's keep it at one for now, yeah Ren?'

"Betty would like to know what's on her Contractor's mind." She says knowingly, drawing the image of one of the Beasts we fought, the Witch of Hemwick, I think she was called. Little notes on the minimal amount of abilities she had are written beside the drawing. "It's not often Betty's Contractor is at a loss for words, meaning that he is most certainly harboring deep thoughts. I suppose."

"Gee, I wonder." Keeping my eyes on Arianna, Beatrice makes the connection.

"The whore?"

"Yes, and her name is Arianna. You need to stop calling people by their occupation. Ranko and Rem are both maids." One a little more than the other. "There's bound to be confusion soon if you don't start calling them by name."

"...Betty will think about it, and what of her?" She closes her notebook, turning to Arianna.

"The nature of her "pregnancy" is one thing, but there's something else. She's a vileblood, whatever that is. I want to ask her about it, but then there's the issue of explaining how I know that tidbit of information."

"And talking about it next to her isn't an issue?"

"...Good point." That subject of conversation comes to an abrupt stop. Only to be replaced by a more mundane topic. "Betty? Will you ever grow?"

"What a strange thing to ask, in fact." That's not an answer. "No, Betty's appearance will never change."

"Then, does your hair grow longer over time?"

"Betty is sure she just said her appearance will never change."

"Then what would happen if I were to grab a pair scissors, and cu-"

"Betty would throw a Minya at her Contractor."

"...I see. You know that could kill me, its crystallization effect is op."

"Betty's Contractor has been warned, I suppose."

"Well, don't you worry, my adorably cute spirit, I would never do anything like that." I say hugging her close, the smell of lavender wafting into my nostrils. Though, my hug is interrupted by a clearing of a throat.

Ranko's to be specific, her blanket hugging onto her form. Her left bare shoulder was the only part not covered by the blanket.

"Oh. Ranko. Did we wake you?" I ask, slightly ashamed. Though Beatrice pinches my arm that's still around her, muttering 'You did, not Betty'.

"Correct, Ren-sama." Her resolute gaze fixed onto me. "It isn't of any concern, I have rested sufficiently."

"...Right." An awkward silence fills the room, Ranko's gaze never leaving me, and my own trying its best to not stray down at her beautiful figure that is currently accentuated by the blanket.

'...I've got it bad, and it isn't even funny.' Removing my eyes from the devoted maid, I notice the Demon Maid is also awake, staring at me with an expression that I can't quite put my finger on.

"Guest-sama, Rem apologizes for this, but if you could give us time to change?" Oh…I'm normally never awake by now, so they never have to ask me to leave.

"...Sure, hear that Betty? It's time for us t-"

"Betty shall be staying here, she has something to discuss with the maids. Take this chance to bathe, you still smell of blood. In fact." She says pinching her nose. Hopping off my lap, I let her pull me away to the hatch. "Go. Don't come back until Betty is done."

"Um, how am I supposed to know…" The hatch is practically closed on my face. "Honestly. That girl sure has been very demanding lately. Though, I guess it's probably my fault, and at least this finally gets me some alone time." Heading down, instead of a disgusting sewage area, I had cleaned and reformed it into a bathroom and a back door.

Entering the bathroom door, I start to undress. Putting my admittedly still very comfortable magicians outfit in a pile, I head in. The Japanese style bath welcomes me with a peaceful quiet. 'Ah, Nothing like the taste of home…Wait a sec, I'm not even from Japan!'

Sitting in the bath, I close my eyes as I zone out. 'Nothing beats a nice warm bath…' My mind soon goes thoughtless, as the feeling of relief fills me from top to bottom.

Sinking deeper into the bath, the water reaches my nose. "Blub blub…" Resurfacing, I run my hand through my wet hair.

I let out a sigh, feeling the tension release from my body. The warm water soothes my muscles, and for a brief moment, my mind is free from the chaos and complications that surround me. But as the tranquility settles in, thoughts of Arianna and the imminent conversation creep back into my consciousness.

I lean my head against the edge of the bath, staring up at the ceiling. Drops of water fall from my hair, creating ripples in the calm surface of the water. The sound of droplets hitting the water echoes in the small bathroom, amplifying the silence.

"...2B?"

"...Yes?"

"Watcha doin?" I ask bored out of my mind.

"Watching you."

"Kyaa. How embarrassing." I respond in a monotonous way. "I might take you to court for that."

"Did you need something?"

She asks, already sounding tired of my antics. "No, but I enjoy talking to you."

"What a weird way to say, 'Bothering you'."

"Can I go see you?" I ask, ignoring her rudeness.

"Not like that, you're not."

"Obviously. I'm not some sexual deviant."

"...Fine, I'll open a portal for you in a few minutes. Just finish up with your bath."

"Yes, Ma'am." I mock salute, getting out of the bath and under the shower.

System Subspace

"Last time, I asked if this was heaven. I think my question was very much justified." I point out, the blank space was the same as before. In its center, the robot queen herself was sitting in a kotatsu.

"You both think and say stupid stuff, honestly Ren." Rubbing her temple, she lets outs a sigh. "Just…sit down, will you?"

"Yes, yes." Sitting down across from her, I feel her legs brush up against mine as I get comfortable. Laying my head on the wooden table top, I let out a sigh of my own. "This is nice."

"So? What is it?" I hear her ask, as she sets two cups on the table. She pours tea into both of them, or at least, I assume she is based on the sound of the pouring.

"Hm?" Raising my head off the table, I turn to face her again. "Oh. Right." Opening my inventory, I take out the gift I prepared for her. "Want some Ice cream cake?" Setting it on the table, she looks at me, clearly unimpressed.

"That thing is nearly two weeks old." She pushes the plate towards me.

"Time doesn't pass while in the inventory." I say, pushing it back.

"I've seen what it does to women when they eat it." She pushes it again

"It's not a guarantee, Ranko, she-"

"Stifled her moan. Arianna didn't even bother hiding her own."

"But you're an android, so-"

"You're grasping at straws, but…I'll do it." She summons a fork from…somewhere, and takes a bite. "...I-It's not that bad." She looks away, probably embarrassed from me just staring at her while she eats.

"If it could impress the hard ass known as Ram, I was sure it could impress anyone."

"In terms of tsunderes, Ram isn't that high up there. Actually, she's more tsun-tsun than dere-dere." …What? Did she finally lose it from all the time spent watching me?

"Tsun…dere? What's that?" I ask, slightly confused by the term.

"...Acting dumb again? It gets old really quickly, Ren."

"That's rude. I honestly don't have a clue what you're talking about."

"...Stop messing with me. You knew what shounen and isekai meant before, so how could you not know what tsundere means?"

"Shounen and Isekai are commonly used Japanese words, but Tsundere isn't coming to mind. Is it Japanese slang? Cuz I don't think Lide's Blessing covers that."

"You're serious?" …I'm starting to regret the idiot act.

"Obviously. So? What's a tsundere?"

"...Know what? It doesn't matter." It most definitely does. "I wanted to talk to you about something. Something important."

I feel myself frown at the serious tone she takes. "What's up?"

"It's about that guy Beatrice killed." That doesn't narrow it down much. "The one who had multiple authorities."

"Oh. That guy. How did he even get here?" I ask, the fight we had playing in my mind. 'Fucking copycat.'

"Lide hasn't answered any questions I've asked, but…I think he was with the person who destroyed your home world."

"...Is that right?"

'Home…I haven't thought much about it, have I? Other than with Echidna, but that already feels so long ago… Mom, Dad…'

Snap.

"Spacing out? Now of all times?" 2B scolds, her tone filled with exasperation.

"Sorry."

"...Ren. Try not to think too hard about it, okay?" Her tone softens and so do her eyes. "It's nothing concrete yet, so don't take my word for it."

"Okay…"

"Serious stuff aside, I see that you work fast." Raising an eyebrow at her vague wording, she smirks at me. "Echidna must have rubbed off on you more than you thought, considering you seduced your student too."

Groaning at the reminder, we spend the rest of our time talking about mundane things.

Sitting in silence, enjoying my tea, I notice the sudden movement from 2B. Focusing on her face, she stares back at me with a hint of guilt. "2B? What is it?"

"..." She blinks a few times, and shakes her head. "...S-Sorry. It was nice talking to you again, Ren." She smiles at me bittersweetly.

"Wait, you're kicking me ou-"

"See you later." Feeling the floor beneath me lose its solid state, I blink in surprise. Reopening my eyes, only to be back on the bathroom floor.

"...Did I do something wrong?"

Hunter's Dream

Standing at the door of the Church, I walk back down the stairs.

'Laurence, Wilhelm… They were the two from that vision, right? But how does Gherman know them?' Sitting down next to the sleeping Doll, I try to gather my thoughts.

' We are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone by the blood. Our eyes are yet to open. Fear the Old Blood. …What could it be referring to? I doubt it's as simple as I think it is. The bloods' properties are miraculous at a cost, but that's common knowledge, right?'

'And Gherman somehow knew both of them…just who is he? Was he also a hu-'

"Good Hunter. Apologies, it seems I drifted off, if only for a moment." The Doll's voice snaps me out of it.

"...No worries. I don't mind. I can't imagine how bored you must be." Staying somewhere forever sounded appealing to me, but the lack of entertainment may drive me insane.

"One would assume so, but with the little ones keeping me company, the wait for you to return is a lot more bearable." Her lips curl into a small smile as she watches the (disfigured) little guys mess with the top hat I gave them.

'...Cute.' Finding her face irresistible for a few moments, I can only stare at her with admiration. '...Ahh! Stop it already! Echidna and Ranko are more than enough!'

Calming myself via self inflicted pain, I clear my throat. "If you want, I can visit more often." Ow…My thigh.

"Thank you, Good Hunter, but you and I have our duties to fulfill. I do not wish to be a burden or get in your way." She responds with a shake of her head.

"Not at all. You'd be surprised by the amount of free time I have."

"...Good Hunter. You are not dismissing your own duties to be here, are you?" She asks, her arms now crossed, but it made her look cuter than she probably intended.

"Pfft…No. I'm currently in the middle of training Ranko, so don't worry, I'm not dodging my job because I want to."

"Oh. I apologize for assuming th-"

"It's fine." Leaning back onto the stairs, I place my arms on the back of my head. "I've got some time, let's do something."

"Something?"

"Yeah, have you ever played any card games?"

A Week Later, Oedon Graveyard

Staring at the scene unfolding in front of me, I look on in amazement. 'Rem sure is something else, I almost want to stop it for Ranko's sake, but I don't imagine Ranko would be happy.'

Ranko's newfound strength and speed weren't anything to scoff at, but when compared to Rem's own skill and strength, it wasn't even considered a competition.

Observing their spar was getting me in the mood for a fight, and I had a good idea as to why that was. That being the Oni blood now coursing through my veins.

The transformation was an overnight process that came with very little physical changes that I was aware of. It did make me more prone to violence, but at least I knew friend from foe.

See..?

Name: Ren 'Maxwell' Fujimura

Level: 142 (280/8550)

Race: Oni/Human Hybrid

"Ren? Who the hell are you talking to?"

'Oh. You were listening? Wait, no not important. Where the hell have you been?!'

"I was busy with stuff."

'...Aren't you stuck inside the System Subspace?'

"What? No? What gave you that idea?"

'...Didn't you tell me you lost your physical form in exchange to become the system moderator?'

"I didn't give it away, I just didn't see a point in using it any longer."

'Huh. The more you know. Wait, then why did you kick me out?'

"...I don't want to talk about it."

That subject dies fast, but I make an attempt to resurrect it. 'So?'

"So what?"

'Who's the lucky guy? You obviously wouldn't want your boyfriend to see you with me, right? It'd make him self-conscious if he saw someone as attractive as me inter-'

"Ren, just shut up. I don't have a boyfriend or anything like that. I just had things to do."

'Fine, fine.' I don't press the matter further as I focus on the now laid out Ranko currently being healed by her maid sister.

"Why's Ranko training in physical combat? Isn't she supposed to be a mage-trainee?"

'My fighting style is different from the average mage, so I'm having her train her body before I start to teach her my style of magic.'

"You just abuse Telekinesis, doesn't sound like a fighting style to me."

'I'm a jack of all trades, master of some. I just use what I excel in.'

"...Right, and Beatrice?"

'She's trying her hardest on finding a way to remove that thing in Arianna's stomach.'

"You asked her, didn't you?"

'Yeah, seeing as she's able to use spatial magic, even if it is limited to the Mather's Manor. It just made the most sense.'

"Do you plan on leaving?"

'...Not yet. I'd like to do a few things before I do.'

"What about what Eileen said?

'I…I'm thinking about it.'

"You don't have to, if you don't want to."

Staring at the small interaction between Rem and Ranko, I feel a small amount of happiness as Ranko smiles a rare smile.

"2B? How much time has passed back in Lugnica?"

"10 days, half the amount that has passed here."

"So time does flow differently…"

"Why ask?"

"Is there any world that has a bigger ratio? Like a 24:1?"

"...You're abusing this too? Fine, there is one that should be safe enough for you to go to. As long as you don't piss off anyone too strong you should be fine. Just let me know when.

"Give me a day or two, I just need to wrap things up."

To Be Continued…

Abrupt ending, but I wanted to update this. This chapter is basically throwing shit at the wall hoping it sticks. If it doesn't, well I'm just fucked.

Timeskip? Yeah, I've had a lot of time to think, and I have come up with a solution to the BB world. That is…Unimportant at the moment.

2 Chapters until the next world? Probably.

Hunter's Nightmare? You bet your sweet bippy I'll show it. Maybe. Probably. Most likely. Who knows?

Ren vs Gherman? Yes.

Moon Presence? Yes'nt.

When? When I feel like writing.

To the few who still read this, I haven't changed my stance on this story. It's bad. That doesn't mean I don't love it. I'm able to write freely with this fic, unlike most of my other fics.

If I really wanted to make this story great, I would probably remove the System and make Ren's rise to strength more gradual and his start different, instead of a complete carbon copy of Subaru's. Perhaps in another lifetime.

I'm slightly regretting making Ranko and Ren a thing so fast, but…Whatever.

Since no one reviews this story, I'll leave you with this, Yokai. Take that as you will.

Goodbye.
