Defining all odds, challenging the gods themselves, Kazuki did the impossible. He managed to deliver the package to the receiver on time, and with damages to the box or its contents.
With a successful delivery, Kazuki rides his bike back to the shop for more delivers. Blucomon rides in the front backet of the bike, rewarding the pair various stares from the public, ranging from awes from how cute he looks, to confusion as to why he's riding with a stuffed toy.
Coming up to the shop, Kazuki braces his partner Digimon. "Okay, so here's the thing. I don't know just how this is going to work."
"What do you mean?" Blucomon looks up at their tamer, unsure as to what they mean.
"I don't know how my boss will react to you. He might just think you're a toy, or maybe he'll have a heart attack, or whatever. I'm hoping for a good outcome, but preparing for a bad one." While slowing down, Kazuki tries to picture different ideas in his mind. "Maybe…can you revert back into your previous form? The small snowman…dragon…thing?"
Blucomon's body glows. Changing their form, they shrink down, becoming Hiyarimon. They fit easily in the backet now.
"Perfect. I'll see if we can sneak you in now."
They stop just outside the shop, and he locks his bike up. Walking up to the door, he packs Hiyarimon in his backpack, and lets himself in. "I'm back~" he calls out to the shop owner.
"Ah good, I was starting to think we'd have to fish you out the river again. I heard there was another commotion in the city," the old man walks out of the kitchen, wiping their hands with a towel. He stops and stares at Kazuki, seeing the terrible state he's in. "Kid, I mean this in the nicest way, but you look terrible."
He grabs Kazuki by the collar, and pulls him into the kitchen area. "Let me see," taking off the bag, he tosses it onto the table to get a better look at how bad a state Kazuki is in.
When the bag lands on the table, there's an audible thud, followed by a sudden cry of "Ow!"
The old man snaps his head towards the bag, giving it a sharp glare. As if the bag and himself have a dark past, or an ongoing feud. Kazuki is sweating buckets as he approaches the table to examine the contents.
"Oh, forget about that. I just brought one of those Hit Me toys from Toys Were Us," Kazuki is smart, quick thinking, and brave. But he's also a terrible liar.
Opening the backpack, the old man is greeted by the sight of Hiyarimon. Unsure on what the plan actually was, Hiyarimon wings it, "Hi."
The old man grabs him, and slowly jumps him out of the bag, and holds him up like a disobedient cat. The old man looks back and forth between glaring at Kazuki and then Hiyarimon. "And who might you be?"
"I'm Hiyarimon. I'm a Digimon from the Digital World. Nice to meet you. What's your name?" They hold their hand out as if to shake it. Kazuki stands there sheet white after Hiyarimon blew their cover.
The old man extends his hand, and shakes, "Nakamura." He looks back at Kazuki. "So were you planning on smuggling a pet into my store?"
"Well…he's not a pet. He's more like….I don't know, a partner?" While Kazuki tries to explain this, he has a moment of realization. "Wait a minute, why are you not freaking out by a talking snow man?"
"Son, when you get as old as me, you see a lot of weird stuff. I remember this one time a dog came up to me and said 'get a job'. Hypocrite." He puts Hiyarimon down on the table, "This is barely a drop in the bucket."
There's a moment of silence between the three, no one is really saying anything, or addressing the situation. Kazuki decides to speak up.
"Soooo, do you think he can stay? I kind of saved him from a demon guy, and now we're kind of linked, and he doesn't really have anywhere else to go since he can't go back home, and…,"
Nakamura holds his hand up, cutting them off. "You can tell me more about it later after your shift. For now, get cleaned up, put on a new uniform, and get on your bike, we've got more orders to fill."
Seeing hope at the end of the tunnel, Kazuki smiles and nods, racing out of the kitchen. As he's rushing upstairs, Nakamura turns to Hiyarimon.
"As for you…," he leans closer, getting a good look at the melting Digimon. "You can talk. Can you also read, write and follow instructions?"
"Yes! I used to help my friends organise the tri-anneual snowman building contest three years in a role," Hiyarimon is proud of his achievement, putting his hands on what could be his hips.
"How are you with lifting, and carrying heavy objects?" Nakamura is putting Hiyarimon under a brief, to the point interview.
"I can do a lot better like this." Hiyarimon jumps off the table, but before landing he evolving back into Blucomon, standing as his rookie evolution. "Will this work?"
Nakamura drops an apron on their face, "Great. You can help earn your keep by helping me around here while your partner is delivering for our customers. Now chop chop," Nakamura pulls Blucomon by the tail into the next room, ready to tease them the way.
