Toshinori's Choice
Chapter eleven: Getting ready for more to come
The students of UA's Class 1-A were back in class after their internships, all of them having learned things to an extent. However, the most popular students in class, at least at the moment, were Izuku, Tenya, Todoroki, and Shinso. Word got out how they had done minor assistance in helping to defeat the Hero Killer and bring him in, although they still know all they did was pull an injured pro hero to safety while all actual fighting was done by a licenced pro. According to Aizawa who was in Hosu at the time, the boys technically broke no rules, so they were solid.
There was, however, debate on the fact Stain escaped custody and was reported trying to kill a nearby hero, only for Endeavor to strike Stain down with fatal force. The news had proceeded to lambaste Team Idaten (Tenya's brother Tensei got credit for Stain's initial defeat) for not making sure Stain was sufficiently suppressed, before going on to heap praise upon the Flame Hero. The boys in Hosu that night knew the truth, but they were told in secret by Aizawa that, for now, they can't go spreading the truth around, so they had to bide their time.
But the underground hero still had words of praise for the boys; granted, as those words came from Aizawa the tone of praise was subdued, but he was still genuine. Regardless, the boys were able to continue on, although Todoroki was bothered by how his father was, once again, not only getting off the hook for what all damage he had cause, he's even being praised in the public eye. Even Endeavor's accidental killing of Todoroki's internship mentor, Manual, was swept under the rug and publicly passed off as a result of Manual being reckless and getting in Endeavor's way.
Regardless, Todoroki and the rest of Class 1-A had to move on. They got to do an exercise under All Might where they ran an obsticle course through a densely packed urban jungle of sorts. Izuku, with his firm mastery over One For All, was able to ultimately score first place, although Sero came in at a close second. Regardless, the Symbol of Peace told the students they all had improved and that they ought to get ready for the end of term test. "Oh, by the way Young Midoriya," Toshinori said, "My secretary Yagi came by, saying he needed to talk to you about a few things."
Curious, Izuku agreed, and went to see his step-dad Toshinori after classes were done for the day.
There was a mild incident where a peephole was found in the boys locker room that would let boys spy on the girls in the girls locker room, but the general agreement among all of the boys was to not use it and instead report it to Aizawa, figuring that he can have it patched up. It was actually Izuku who found the peephole, but it was by accident as Sero and Kaminari were horsing around, and Kaminari accidentally bumped into Izuku, knocking him into a wall and accidentally dragging off a poster that had been covering the peephole.
After leaving the locker room, Izuku told Aizawa about the discovery, assuring him none of the boys used it. Tenya backed Izuku's claims, and Aizawa nodded once before saying he'll report it to Nezu. The green-haired boy then went off to see Toshinori, and after locking the door behind him, Izuku sat down with his step-dad in the soundproofed room. Toshinori wanted the talk he was about to have with Izuku be absolutely private, as they were going to discuss info that had to be kept secret as it involved One For All.
Toshinori recalled having essentially the same conversation with Bakugo in the alternate timeline, back where Bakugo was his successor to wielding One For All. But here in the current timeline, Toshinori's successor is Izuku. As such, they had essentially the same talk; about how the villain All For One rose to power, about how All For One had unintentionally created One For All, and how One For All was passed down over the generations until it became strong enough with Toshinori himself to let him take down that greatest of evils.
Toshinori then told Izuku that it's very likely All For One had returned and is now backing several villainous efforts. Toshinori, however, didn't tell several truths to Izuku, including what all he remembered from the alternate timeline. There was still so much the Symbol of Peace had to do to prevent the bad future that came with the alternate timeline, especially preventing the rise of Dabi's Crew. Toshinori also didn't reveal that he may not be able to be there for Izuku when the time of the final fight finally came around.
In the alternate timeline, Toshinori wasn't there for Bakugo's final fight, during the first provisional license exams Bakugo's year was eligible for, where Bakugo was among the near countless hero academy students slaughtered by Dabi's brood when they attacked. Toshinori in the alternate timeline also wasn't there for Izuku, but in a different way. Here in the current timeline, Toshinori was wanting to do what all he could for his step-son, but he feared that he may not make it to see whatever final battle the green-haired boy would take part in.
All that Toshinori knew was that Izuku will do him proud.
Later, Aizawa told Class 1-A that they'll be going to a training camp for summer break, but warned that those who failed the end of term test will be stuck in remedial school. This caused some of the less academically successful students in class to fret. However, the more academically successful students agreed to help their less than successful peers study up for the exams. This gave a ray of hope to the students in Class 1-A who hadn't been dong so hot, especially with what all had been going on as of late, what with villain attacks and all.
As it turned out, Yaoyorozu placed first on the midterms, making her something of a beacon the more struggling students in class rallied around. Surprisingly enough, Izuku placed second on the midterms in Class 1-A, with Tenya a (very) close third behind Izuku. The placement that Izuku had was a testament to the quality of what all tutoring Toshinori was able to afford for him over the years. In fourth after Tenya was Bakugo, and in fifth after Bakugo was Uraraka surprisingly enough; her family was massively successful due to business, and thus her parents were able to afford good tutors for her.
Following after that in order from best to worst was Todoroki, Tsuyu, Shinso, Jiro, Ojiro, Shoji, Koda, Sato, Tokoyami, Kirishima, Hagakure, Sero, Aoyama, Mina, and lastly Kaminari. Some of them needed help with studying more than others, so naturally the more academically inclined members of the class helped those who were not as much academically inclined. As such, plans were formed to see all of Class 1-A study and get ready for finals, although some of the smarter students had different plans than others, like Bakugo saying he'll tutor Kirishima 'until he bleeds'.
There was an incident during lunch where Monoma of Class 1-B, the 'blonde hysteric holler monkey' who bothered Bakugo a while ago, came by to harass Izuku's group during lunch which saw the green-haired boy sit with Tenya, Todoroki, Shinso, Ochaco, and Tsuyu. Monoma, backed by two other boys in his class named Shihai and Togaru, said that Izuku's encounter with the Hero Killer made Class 1-A's rep skyrocket even more, but swore that Class 1-B will catch up, defeat Class 1-A, and leave them all in the dust.
However, Monoma was stopped by a chop to the back of the head from a girl in Class 1-B, Itsuka Kendo. Itsuka, backed by two other Class 1-B girls named Pony and Setsuna, chastised the boys for harassing Class 1-A. "Seriously," Itsuka said to Monoma, "You with your harassing of Class 1-A are almost as bad as Setsuna is on the average time when she's asked to recollect her past."
"Given that the last time I asked and she said something about dinosaurs and pop music," Togaru said, "It amazes me she's one of the two in our class who got into UA on recommendation."
Turning to look at Izuku's group, Itsuka said, "I'd like to apologize for Monoma's stupidity." Gesturing to the group as a whole, Itsuka went on, "Also, I got it from an upper-classmen that the practical portion of the finals will involve fighting robots, just like the entrance exam's practicals."
"Oh great," Shinso said in a sarcastic tone as he rolled his eyes, "More robots."
"I'm sure there will be adjustments made to help those who have quirks not effective against robotic opponents kero," Tsuyu spoke up.
Time passed by quickly over the following days, and when the written portion of the finals came up, everyone passed although some more by the skin of their teeth than others. Eventually, all of Class 1-A were taken out to some training grounds for their final exam's practical portion. Shinso now also had a more proper hero outfit, and it closely resembled what Aizawa had, furthering Todoroki's suspicions that Shinso is Aizawa's secret love child. "Now class," Aizawa began, "I got it that some of you may have gotten it what the practical portion of the finals will entail."
"Yeah," Mina said as she raised a hand, "A girl in Class 1-B got it from an upper-classmen before getting it to us that we'll be fighting robots."
"Normally, that would be true," Aizawa said, "But we've had to change things up this year."
"Be... cause we got it ahead of time that we would be fighting robots?" Kaminari asked.
Gently shaking his head, Aizawa replied, "Actually, no. It's due to how there's been a recent increase in villainous activity, with the attack on the USJ being a prime example, although Nezu cites how the chaos in Hosu also has him concerned. As such, you kids will split off into ten teams of two, and each team will face a teacher or other pro hero in a match."
"We're fighting actual pro heroes?!" some of the Class 1-A students exclaimed in surprise.
The underground hero nodded once in the affirmative. "Yes. It's believed fighting battles with real opponents will up your battle experience. Mind you, as you all are first years, the pros you fight will be given handicaps so that you will have a fair chance. The pass conditions are you either capture the hero you're facing, or you both are able to escape the training grounds the matches will take place in via the provided exit gate. Teams have thirty minutes to accomplish either task." A lot of the students seemed nervous, although Shinso had a hint of relief coming off from him.
The students were soon divvied up into pairs by random lot drawing; the pairs were Izuku and Shinso, Jiro and Hagakure, Ashido and Yaoyorozu, Ochaco and Aoyama, Tsuyu and Tokoyami, Bakugo and Kirishima, Todoroki and Tenya, Sero and Kaminari, Sato and Koda, and lastly Shoji and Ojiro. After the teams were all decided by the random drawing of lots, there was another random drawing to determine which hero would fight which team.
Due to some of the teachers being occupied (Nezu was investigating claims Toshinori had made about villainous activity), a few friendly pro heroes were brought in. To Tenya's surprise, one of them was Tensei; Bakugo was similarly surprised to see Rumi aka Mirko, and it was surprisingly Tsuyu who first identified Ryuko as Ryukyu. "I'm actually going to want to ask Ryukyu, as well as Mirko, for a favor after the exam practicals if that's okay kero," Tsuyu said. The two top ranking female pro heroes, their interest piqued, agreed to see Tsuyu after the exam practicals.
Another surprise hero to show up was Taishiro, otherwise known as Fatgum. Bakugo hoped that he and Kirishima wouldn't be paired to face the BMI Hero; while Bakugo had made some progress in improving upon what he discovered about himself with his shortcomings during the Sports Festival, mainly being able to better deal with tanky opponents, Fatgum looked to be at a level far above what Ochaco or Kirishima could offer as resistance against Bakugo. As much as the explosive teen hated to admit it to himself, Bakugo felt the only way he and Kirishima could pass against Fatgum would be to escape.
Eventually, the student pairs were divvied up between the teachers and other pro heroes; Izuku and Shinso were slated to face Mirko, Jiro and Hagakure were paired against Tensei, Ashido and Yaoyorozu were matched against Ryukyu, Bakugo and Kirishima were (to Bakugo's worry) pitted against Fatgum, Ochaco and Aoyama were put against Hound Dog (it would have been Thirteen but she was recruited by All Might to help), Tsuyu and Tokoyami got Ectoplasm, Todoroki and Tenya got Midnight, Sero and Kaminari got Hizashi, Sato and Koda got Snipe, and finally Shoji and Ojiro were up against Aizawa himself.
With the matches decided, the practical of the finals could begin.
...
Izuku and Shinso were in their arena waiting to come across the Rabbit Hero. "Of all the opponents we could have faced for the practicals of our finals," Shinso said, "We just had to get someone currently ranked as one of the top ten heroes in the country."
Shrugging, Izuku said, "It could have been worse. We could have been given All Might." Izuku was glad that he didn't have to face his step-dad.
Shinso was about to speak up, but a large rock nearby was busted suddenly when Mirko leapt out into view and smashed it with a kick. "Now that's an entrance!" Mirko said; even though she had the weights on her to handicap her to give Izuku and Shinso a better chance, she still seemed as strong and fast as ever. Looking to the two boys before her, Mirko said, "I hope you boys are ready for a whumping, because it's rabbit season!"
"Can I ask you something before you most likely kick our asses?" Shinso asked.
"Sure thing, kid," Mirko replied, "I figure you two ought to be-" Mirko suddenly stopped short as she proceeded to just sand there, as if in a trance. Shinso gestured for Izuku to follow him, then the two boys quickly cuffed Mirko, successfully capturing her.
"Well that was incredibly easy," Shinso remarked as the brainwashing on Mirko wore off.
"-Owed an explanation for why I'm gonna kick your asses hey wait why am I cuffed?" Mirko said suddenly as she regained her sense of self. The alarm then went off, announcing that Izuku and Shinso had caught Mirko, thus they completed the pass requirement for their practicals. Although Izuku and Shinso had passed with little issue, they couldn't help but wonder how their peers were doing.
...
"Run, Kirishima!"
"Hey hey hey! Who wants to play?"
Bakugo and Kirishima were running from Fatgum as he pursued them. Bakugo was able to buy some time for him and Kirishima to make more distance by casting an explosion at Fatgum's face. The attack did no damage basically to the BMI Hero, but the flash of light from the explosion did blind Fatgum for a moment even though he had covered his face with his arms in time to block the worst of the attack.
As the two boys ran together, Kirishima said, "Wow, it's pretty amazing he can keep up with running after us despite his weight, huh Baku-bro?"
"He's Round Face on steroids is what he is!" Bakugo exclaimed, "We need to keep running until we find the gate and escape!"
...
Jiro and Hagakure, the later covered in dust that revealed her otherwise invisible form, were both laying on the ground having been caught. Standing before them about four meters away was Tensei, who was dancing in victory after he had defeated both of the girls. "'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars," Tensei sang as he danced in celebration of his victory.
"Uhhg, I can't believe we both failed," Jiro moaned in complaint.
"And what's worse is that we were beaten by someone who is basically what Iida will become when he graduates and goes pro," Hagakure went on, "Iida's brother is such a jerk."
"Sixteen cowboys!" Tensei sang as he continued to dance.
...
"AHHHHH!"
Mina and Yaoyorozu were running, because they were expecting to face Ryukyu and whatever quirk she had. Instead, the girls were both surprised when they were instead greeted by a fucking dragon. "What the hell happened to Ryukyu?!" Mina exclaimed, "Did that dragon eat her?!"
"I had no idea dragons even existed!" Yaoyorozu cried back out, "How can heroes fight back against monsters such as dragons?! If one like the one chasing us sides with villains, then hero society is doomed!"
The dragon roared as it flew overhead and around the girls, cutting off their escape and swinging around to strike both at once with a single tail slam attack. The girls were thrown back and hit a wall of a building in the test zone. After both of them fell to the ground, too hurt to move, they saw it as the dragon landed and walked right up to them. Then, to their amazement, the dragon shrank down, becoming more human-like as it shrank. After the process was done, the girls saw that the dragon had transformed into Ryukyu.
"I wasn't eaten by the dragon," Ryukyu said as she captured both girls, "I am the dragon. My quirk, which is called Dragon, lets me transform into a dragon." With Ryukyu having caught them, both Mina and Yaoyorozu failed the practical portion of the finals.
Eventually, all of the matches were done, and the only failures were Mina, Hagakure, Jiro, and Yaoyorozu; the remaining sixteen students in Class 1-A all passed. Mostly by escaping, although it was noted that Izuku and Shinso were able to catch Mirko mere seconds after she popped up in front of them. "Oh, and by the way," Aizawa said, "Everyone's going to the summer camp, I lied about those failing not going to motivate you all further. In fact, those who had failed will be needing the summer camp even more. But they will be getting extra lessons at camp."
Everyone cheered when Aizawa announced they all were going, although the girls aside from Ochaco and Tsuyu were wondering about the extra work, with Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure sort of dreading it. As the heroes congratulated the kids for what all work they were able to do, Tsuyu took the time to ask the favor she had in mind for Mirko and Ryukyu. "Is it possible I could get an autographed photo from each of you of you respectively kero?" Tsuyu asked.
"You want an autographed photo of me?" Mirko asked.
"Oh yeah," Bakugo said, "Frog Face here, when she heard that I was interning under you, asked me if I could get an autographed photo of you from you. Said something about planning to save it as a gift for someone."
Tsuyu nodded in confirmation. "Both of my little siblings... ran away from home after our parents..." Tsuyu stopped short, sniffled a bit as she tried to stay strong. "...After our parents were killed in the traffic accident that occurred the day of the attack on the USJ. Efforts are still being made to try and find them, and I'm hoping that my little siblings are still alive and alright."
Ryukyu, looking at the frog girl with a sympathetic look of consideration, smiled gently. "...I guess your missing little siblings are fans of me and Mirko."
Nodding once in confirmation, Tsuyu said, "My little sister Satsuki is a fan of Mirko's, while my little brother Samidare is a fan of yours, Ryukyu."
"Your little brother is a Ryukyu fan, Asui?" Tenya asked, looking surprised.
Tsuyu once again nodded in confirmation. Tsuyu then explained how Samidare has Asperger's Syndrome, which puts him on the autism spectrum. Ryukyu is the only commonly known pro hero in Japan who had done work to help kids on the spectrum, and is something of a respected figure by parents with kids on the spectrum as a result. Samidare said that Ryukyu believes in kids like him, so he is going to believe in Ryukyu. Tsuyu also remarked how Samidare says Ryukyu has bar none the single coolest quirk ever.
The Dragon Hero was honestly touched by Tsuyu, who further explained that the photograph of Ryukyu when she autographs it is going to be saved for Samidare when he's found. Similarly, the photograph of Mirko when she autographs it will be saved as a gift for Satsuki. Even Mirko, normally a rough and rumble kind of person, was honestly and sincerely touched by the gesture Tsuyu had in mind, and in a case where she showed a lot more gentleness than she normally does, the Rabbit Hero said she will oblige Tsuyu in her request.
Ryukyu said she would do so as well, and that Tsuyu can expect Ryukyu's intern who attends UA to hand it to her before Class 1-A goes off on their training camp. "Just... do me a favor when your lil' sis is found," Mirko said to Tsuyu, "Don't tell her about how I had been caught so easily by Green Bean and Eyebags."
Meanwhile, Dabi with Spinner and Toga standing behind him were meeting with Giran who brought them some new recruits to Dabi's Crew. "These are the finest that were available given the budget we were working with," Giran said to Dabi, "They will do excellent work, trust me."
Dabi first turned his attention to a masked fellow wearing a top hat and a brown long coat, also he carried a walking cane. "So who are you?" Dabi asked.
"I am the mysterious man of prestidigitation known as Mr. Compress," replied the now identified Mr. Compress as he did a bow that was somewhat exaggerated, "A dab hand at appropriating possessions and acquiring currency."
"I like your funny words, magic man," Toga said while pointing at Mr. Compress.
Looking at Mr. Compress, Spinner said, "Hey wait, you're the villain who was identified in the news as the one Endeavor fought when that traffic accident occurred on the highway near UA a while ago."
Mr. Compress nodded in the affirmative. "Indeed I was the Gentleman Thief fleeing from battle against the Flame Hero."
"Wait a minute," Dabi said, "You were fleeing from that flaming sack of shit? Is that all you were doing?"
"Yes," Mr. Compress said, "How I had been pinned with the blame of causing that traffic accident is beyond me."
Dabi became suspicious of what was going on. "Spinner, after we're done here, we're gonna ask Gentle if he can get La Brava to do us a favor," Dabi said, "There's some details missing here, and I want them." Dabi then went on to review the rest of the recruits that Giran brought in; Twice who is a paradoxical natured man in a full body black and white spandex suit, Magne who was born male but identifies as female, a kid named Mustard who wore a WW2 style helmet and gas mask in addition to a full middle school boys' uniform, a tall buff man named Muscular who Dabi was ninety percent sure would turn out to be a loose cannon, and a creepy bondage fellow called Moonfish who sent shivers down Dabi's spine.
Regardless, Dabi said, "Yeah, I'll take the lot." After the new recruits were added to Dabi's Crew, they celebrated the joining by having a little bit of a party. Dabi even had a one on one sitdown with Mr. Compress, as he wanted to ask more about his encounter with the Flame Hero. Personally hating Endeavor aside, Dabi from what all he got felt things didn't add up. Hopefully La Brava if she did the digging around Dabi was planning to ask for can get all of the details.
The next day, all of Class 1-A went to the Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall, mostly to get stuff they will need at the training camp. The class split off into various groups; Izuku went with Tenya, Shinso, and Todoroki as one group, the girls all went together in another group, Bakugo went in a group with Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero, and the rest of the boys went as their own group. Izuku and his group had some trouble fending off people who came over to praise them due to seeing them compete in the sports festival, especially Izuku who won and Todoroki who is Endeavor's son.
The two-toned boy didn't like being reminded about who his dad is, but he kept his outward appearance respectful.
Meanwhile, the girls were all taking a break from shopping to get lunch. Yaoyorozu and Ochaco, being the respective daughters of the two richest families in Japan, treated the rest of the girls to lunch. Mina, Jiro, and Hagakure were all amazed by the generosity, but Tsuyu who had been taken in by Ochaco's folks says that it's part of Ochaco's nature to wanna make sure everyone is able to eat their fill. Speaking of eating their fill, the girls were amazed by how much food Yaoyorozu got for herself, although Ochaco got more food for herself.
"Oh, my quirk works by converting lipids into the material that it produces," Yaoyorozu said, "If I know the composition of what I want to make, then I can make it."
Looking at Ochaco, Jiro asked, "What about your quirk?"
"Oh, my quirk lets me cancel the effects of gravity on what I touch," Ochaco said, "I've also learned how to use it to lessen the weight of something." Rubbing her right hand down over her rather considerable belly, Ochaco went on, "How else do you girls think that I've been able to move about as easily as all of you despite how I'm undeniably bigger?"
As the plump gravity girl began tearing into a deluxe chicken sandwich, Hagakure turned to Tsuyu. "Hey Tsuyu, I got it that you were able to get the autographed photo of Mirko and the autographed photo of Ryukyu."
"Oh yes kero," Tsuyu said, "They're being saved for when Satsuki and Samidare are found. Ochaco's parents even have rooms set aside for Satsuki and Samidare at the mansion where we live."
Putting down the food she was eating, Ochaco said, "Oh, we already have them set up. I have to admit, the collection of Ryukyu merch that Tsuyu's little brother has is very impressive." Ochaco wanted to say that Samidare's collection of Ryukyu merch rivals the collection of All Might merch a certain boy she knows has, but Ochaco did not want to say it out loud out of fear she'd unintentionally admit to what boy it is she's in love with. Tsuyu took out her phone and showed the other girls how the room for Samidare was set up.
"Oh yeah," Tsuyu said, "We also got a similar thing going for Satsuki's room, but hers is geared more towards celebrating Mirko."
"Hey, Uraraka," Jiro spoke up, looking at her very obese classmate, "You seem a bit concerned."
"Oh," Ochaco said, "I'm just... I'm just worried about... well you know... him."
Mina gave off a relaxed and amused looking knowing smile. "Ah, the guy who stole your heart."
"We still haven't heard who it is you're crushing on!" Hagakure said, "So come on, you can dish! Who is it?"
...
"Midoriya," Tenya said in a somewhat dry tone as he, Izuku, Todoroki, and Shinso were able to get away from the citizens who were trying to take pictures of the boys, "It would appear that you are a lot more popular than I would have guessed."
"I just want us to be able to do our shopping for the camping trip so we can get out of here," Izuku said in a tone of complaint.
"That is the dream, Midoriya," Todoroki remarked.
"Hey guys," Shinso began, "You think that Izuku can use his popularity to charm up some discounts for us during our shopping?"
"Shinso, no," Izuku said, "That wouldn't be honest."
Shrugging, Shinso replied, "You'd be very surprised to learn how many times Aizawa-sensei has gotten away with doing something similar by throwing around All Might's name. It's more often than you'd most likely guess." Izuku was a bit concerned, as well as rather surprised, to hear that his homeroom teacher had been abusing his step-dad's name, and in the manner that he had been doing. As the green-haired boy wondered what Toshinori would think of the underground hero using his name to get discounts, he stopped short upon hearing a familiar female voice call out.
"Hey!" the voice of Itsuka Kendo of UA's Class 1-B called out, making Izuku and the others stop to see Itsuka, with the rest of her female classmates following along right behind her. "Hey Midoriya," Itsuka said, "My classmates and I were surprised when we were tested by some teachers and a few other pro heroes coming in to help with running the final exam's practical portion," Itsuka said, "Was it the same for you?"
Izuku nodded once in the affirmative. "How did you and your classmates do?" Izuku asked.
"Everyone but Monoma, Shihai, Sen, and Kosei passed," the girl identified as Yui Kodai said, "But then again, some of the pro heroes who came in took us by surprise. We did NOT expect Hawks and especially Endeavor to show up."
Todoroki's eyes narrowed. "...So my father was at UA to help run the practical portion of the finals."
"I think Endeavor said something about wanting to be the hero to test you Todoroki," Itsuka said, "But I got it from Kan-sensei that Principal Nezu wouldn't permit it on the basis that you and Endeavor being family might lead to accusations of nepotism." To the guys as a whole, Itsuka asked, "How did your class do?"
"Everyone in our class but Ashido, Yaoyorozu, Hagakure, and Jiro passed," Teyna said, "Also, Jiro and Hagakure said that my older brother was being, and I'm quoting them on this, 'a butt'."
A look of surprise appeared on Itsuka's face. "Yaoyorozu failed the practical portion?"
"She and Ashido were caught completely off guard," Shinso explained.
Itsuka had a concerned look on her face. "...Strange, I thought that Yaoyorozu would have been guaranteed to pass." Looking to the boys, Itsuka said, "Can you boys tell Yaoyorozu and the others who failed that I'm sorry about how they didn't pass the practicals?"
Izuku nodded once in understanding. "Tell your classmates who failed that I said the same for them." The two groups of students broke off and continued on their own merry ways, although the girl in Itsuka's group identified as Reiko Yanagi lingered on for a moment as she watched Izuku's group depart. It took Itsuka snapping Reiko out of it and telling her to hurry up for the girls to leave. The interactions of the students of UA's Class 1-A and Class 1-B were indicators that things were looking to be shaping up for the summer training camp.
...They just had no idea how exactly things as a whole will shape up there.
END, CHAPTER ELEVEN
Author's notes;
This chapter sees the students get back from their internships before they gear up for the finals. Due to Toshinori borrowing the assistance of a few UA teachers to help him with a few things (he's trying to stem off as much of the villainy from the alternate timeline as he can), the teachers who face the Class 1-A students are mixed up, and a few extra pros from outside are brought in to help run things. Four students each from 1-A and 1-B fail the practicals, but everyone's going on the summer camp training trip. Things will proceed to the summer training camp shenanigans in the next chapter, but how things will go here is something that will be seen later.
