Chapter 9- Gathering of Heroes.
Middle-earth, Gondor
Aragorn and Arwen were sitting on their throne, with Boromir on the Stewart's chair and Faramir and Eowyn close by too. They had just finished a meeting with some of the counselors.
That was when a fiery portal opened and out walked Constantine, to their shock.
"Constantine?" Aragorn questioned as he stood up.
"Sorry for showing up out of the blue mate, but this is very important." Constantine said, cracking his neck.
"You do not have to apologize, my friend", Aragorn said. "I knew you wouldn't be here if you didn't have any reason, my friend."
Constantine looked at him grimly. "It's very important."
"So this 'Karthus' works for the Ruined King known as Viego, who is trying to resurrect his wife but this will inevitably destroy the entire Eä." Aragorn summed up after he and everyone else had listened to what Constantine had told them.
"Not just this Universe, mate, but every Universe, starting with this one." Constantine said.
"From what you say, this 'Viego' is worse than the Dark Lord Sauron and even the First Dark Lord Morgoth or Thanos." Arwen said as all exchanged looks of horror.
"It's going to get messy, luv," Constantine said, not caring about the glares he got from calling the High Queen of the Reunited Kingdom 'luv', as he continued. "And we will need all the help we can get."
"And you will," Aragorn assured him. "As High King of the Reunited Kingdom, I give you my word, John Constantine, that we will not let Viego destroy Runeterra or any other world."
"Thanks for agreeing mate," Constantine said. "Now if only it was easily done as it is said."
"Shouldn't we inform the other Kingdoms about this as well?" Faramir asked.
"Yes. We should inform everyone, including Rohan." Eowyn said, concerned for her brother and everyone else there as Boromir nodded in agreement.
"Yes, everyone needs to know." Boromir agreed.
"Leave it to me," Constantine said as he chanted, opening up another fiery portal. "I will tell everyone."
"Farewell, friend." Aragorn said. Constantine nodded and walked into the portal which closed behind him.
"We have to be ready." Aragorn said to everyone and they nodded with firm determination in their eyes.
Earth-199999, New York Sanctum
Stephen, Strange, John, Loki, Valkyrie, Dean, Sam, Kalista, Leilah, Captain America, Odinson, Green Arrow, Iron Man, Superman, Kid Flash, Wolverine, Charles, Namor, Geralt, Hal, Quinten, Dinah, Daniel, Jake, Alan, Miguel, Brie, Hayley, Kylie and Regina walked out of a portal which then Stephen closed.
Namor was carrying the unconscious bodies of Yone and Starshadow.
"So, how did the search go?" Wong asked as he turned to face them.
"The real question we should be asking is what the hell happened to you!" Sam said, pointing at Wong's face. "You look like a train ran over your face."
"It feels like it," Wong muttered. "Viego attacked this Earth, and claimed the fetter we had in our possession."
"Oh great." Strange groaned.
"Who are all of them?" Wong asked.
"Heroes from Earth-96, and some of Sara's friends as well as her parents," Stephen explained. "They're here to help us."
"Well we're going to need it," Wong sighed. "The Avengers are gathered in the Tower, along with the X-Men, Defenders, Fantastic Four, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and other heroes."
"Constantine is going around recruiting other allies," John said. "We should be ready for this."
"Um, sorry to interrupt, but can you like…wake my boyfriend up?" Leilah asked shyly, blushing slightly.
"Right, sorry about that." Charles said, putting a finger to his temple. Within moments, Yone gasped as he woke up.
He looked around at all of them wearily and Iron Man readied a repulsor in case he tried something.
Yone looked at Charles. "How did you do that?"
"My powers are greater than you think, Yone." Charles said telepathically.
Yone drew a sword and pointed it at Charles. "I don't know how you did that, but if you ever do that to me again…I will kill you."
"I don't doubt it." Charles replied with a kind smile.
"Yone!" Leilah embraced her boyfriend, hugging him tightly. A smile formed on his face as he hugged her back.
"Um, dude, how did you even find us?" Iron Man asked, confused.
"I enlisted the aid of the Sorceress, Morgana, who was able to find where she was." Yone replied.
A small cough interrupted the moment and all looked at Wong.
"Did you all find what you were looking for?" he asked.
"Yes, we have a fetter in our possession." Strange held out his hand, showing the white feather.
"As for our mission, the trace of Undead energy was the Deathsinger, Karthus," Valkyrie explained. "We tried to fight him, but Leilah over here was enslaved by him and wounded Constantine, allowing Karthus to get away."
"We don't know where he is now." John sighed regretfully.
"What now?" Superman asked.
"We need to get to the Avengers, Constantine and Robbie are going across the Multiverse, gathering our friends." Strange said.
"Got it." Loki nodded.
"Fate went and saved Illaoi and Braum with help from Yorick." Strange said as everyone's eyes lit up.
"Hell yes." Valkyrie smirked.
Earth-1, Gotham City
Jason Blood aka Etrigan opened the door of his home to see Constantine standing there.
"Constantine." Blood greeted with gritted teeth.
"Blood." Constantine greeted back.
"Why are you here?" Blood asked.
"Well…" Constantine started.
"No," Blood shook his head as he walked past Constantine. "No, no, no, no, no."
"Oh come on, mate!" Constantine said.
"I am way past things like this. They have a negative impact on me." Blood told Constantine.
"Well, if we fail, then the Ruined King will revive his wife, and he is going to destroy the Multiverse." Constantine said and this time Blood stopped, turning around to face Constantine with a conflicted expression on his face.
Earth-9, San Francisco
The Titans prepared to battle the Black Mist, which had attacked this Earth and had obviously attracted the attention of the resident heroes.
That was when an ankh appeared and the Wraiths disappeared, making the Titans look around in confusion.
"Titans."
They turned around to look at Dr. Fate who said. "I am Doctor Fate, and I am here to tell you that a very large conflict is about to start soon, and you will have to participate in it, or a threat even bigger than Trigon and Thanos will destroy the Multiverse."
"Tell us everything." Dick Grayson aka Nightwing asked.
Earth-199999, Avengers Tower
All the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Defenders and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were there, getting ready to fight.
The elevator opened and Yelena Belova, Shang-Chi and John Wick exited.
"Got the call, Cap, we're ready for this." Shang-Chi called out.
"Yeah, let's kick some ass." Yelena smirked.
"Where's T'Challa?" Falcon asked, noting one superhero was absent.
"I've sent him for another mission." Viviana revealed ominously, but didn't explain it further.
"Oh god, there's another one." Rebecca muttered.
"Is everyone ready?" Steve asked.
"Hell yeah we're ready, Cap," Jason said. "Let's go save our friends."
"Viviana, you'll teleport us to Runeterra, right?" Reed asked her.
"Yes, I will." Viviana said. She chanted and an omega symbol formed around all the heroes.
Within moments, they all vanished, leaving the Tower empty.
Runeterra, Sentinel Base
All of the Sentinels of Light- Blade, Akali, Akshan, Braum, Camille, Diana, Ekko, Elise, Ezreal, Fiora, Graves, Gwen, Illaoi, Jinx, K'Sante, Kai'Sa, Katarina, Lee Sin, Lucian, Master Yi, Morgana, Nami, Nasus, Nidalee, Olaf, Poppy, Pyke, Quinn, Rakan, Rengar, Riven, Samira, Sejuani, Senna, Seraphine, Sett, Taliyah, Taric, Udyr, Vayne, Viktor, Wukong, Yorick and Zeri stood.
At that moment, there was a bright flash of light and dozens of heroes appeared, filling the entire room up.
Lucian instantly took out his relic pistol and aimed it at them, faltering slightly when he saw Superman ready to use his Heat Vision.
"Who are you?" Senna demanded as all the Sentinels got ready to fight. But it was Blade's reaction that was the strongest.
"Took you fuckers long enough!"
Later
"Wait, so you're all from other Earths?" Sett asked the assembled Multiverse.
All the heroes from Earth-1, Earth-2, Earth-3, Earth-7, Earth-9, Earth-19, Earth-38, Earth-50, Earth-X, Earth-63, Earth-72, Earth-84, Earth-89, Earth-92, Earth-167, Earth-215, Earth-10005, Earth-1937, Earth-1992, Earth-2002, Earth-2005, Earth-2007, Earth-2012, Earth-199999 and Arda that had participated in conflicts so far were assembled.
"Yes, from different Earths," Steve nodded. "But we have a common goal- the defeat of Viego."
"Hey, Jason, long time no see," Ezreal said, fist-bumping him. "How's Alexia?"
Jason instantly got a pained look on his face. "She…left. It's a long story."
"Oh." Ezreal's face dropped, silently cursing himself for being so careless.
"Not your fault, man." Jason forced a smile.
Riven, Samira and Quinn watched all the heroes cautiously.
"So this is the Multiverse," Riven commented. "This is…something."
"Never thought I'd meet anyone either than Sara," Quinn agreed. "That must be Superman."
"Which one, there's four of them." Samira retorted.
"Good point." Quinn admitted.
Illaoi approached Strange. "It is good to see you again, Sorcerer." She said, tapping his shoulder.
"You too, Illaoi, though I do wish it were under better circumstances." Strange nodded.
Illaoi offered him a small smile. "So would I, but we don't always get what we want."
Nearby, Daniel, Jake, Alan, Miguel, Brie, Hayley, Kylie and Regina looked at all the warriors of Runeterra, their jaws agape.
"Damn! So these people were the ones Sara met?" Hayley wondered.
Master Yi noticed and walked to them.
"I am Yi, master of Wuju," he introduced himself with a bow. "I understand that you are Sara's childhood friends?"
"Yes, did you know her?" Brie asked, all of them a little amused by the bowing.
"Indeed I did," Master Yi sighed fondly. "She was one of my greatest friends. A true warrior and someone who never backed down from a fight. She spoke fondly of you all."
"I hope she said good things." Jake joked.
"She said she missed you and wanted to tell you all that she loved you." Master Yi said seriously.
Daniel's eyes widened to the size of saucers, while the others looked shocked.
Nearby, Falcon was preparing for the fight when someone cleared their throat. Turning, he saw Quinn standing there, looking a little sheepish.
"Hi, you are the one called Falcon, correct?" she asked.
"Yep, name's Sam Wilson," he said, holding out his hand.
"Quinn, I'm a Ranger of Demacia." She replied, shaking his hand. Valor swooped down and landed on her arm.
"Valor!" she giggled happily. Looking at Falcon, she said. "When you said your name was Falcon, I thought you had a falcon."
"Nah, just these bad boys." Falcon chuckled, pressing a button on his suit as metallic wings emerged.
Quinn's jaw dropped. "That's…something."
"While you have an actual bird," Falcon snickered. "We're the bird folks."
Quinn grinned. At that moment, Jason popped his head around the corner.
"Hey, bird folks, get in here, we're starting."
The two rolled their eyes before moving to follow Jason.
All the heroes from All the heroes from Earth-1, Earth-2, Earth-3, Earth-7, Earth-9, Earth-19, Earth-38, Earth-50, Earth-X, Earth-63, Earth-72, Earth-84, Earth-89, Earth-92, Earth-167, Earth-215, Earth-10005, Earth-1937, Earth-1992, Earth-2002, Earth-2005, Earth-2007, Earth-2012, Earth-199999, Arda and Runeterra stood in the room.
"Okay, so who has been corrupted from Runeterra?" Steve asked.
Senna took a deep breath before answering. "Ahri, Alistar, Aphelios, Ashe, Azir, Caitlyn, Cassiopeia, Darius, Draven, Gangplank, Garen, Jarvan IV, Jayce, Jhin, Karma, Kassadin, Kayle, Leona, Sarah Fortune, Nautilus, Neeko, Pantheon, Qiyana, Rell, Renekton, Shaco, Shen, Shyvana, Singed, Sion, Sivir, Sylas, Syndra, Talon, Tryndamere, Twisted Fate, Urgot, Varus, Vi, Volibear, Warwick, Xayah, Xerath, Xin Zhao, Yasuo and Zed."
"I know all of them," Strange spoke up, making all look at him. "We'll have quite a battle on our hands."
"And we also have Tony, Thor, Wanda, Sara, Trish, Natasha, Bucky, Bruce, Liam, Red Hood, Buffy, Angel, Spike and Faith corrupted as well." Rebecca added.
"Wanda and Thor are gonna be a problem." Jason said.
"As will Azir, Kayle, Pantheon, Renekton, Syndra, Volibear and Xerath." Stephen added.
"Willow, you think you can take Syndra?" Jason asked, looking at Willow Rosenburg from Earth-92.
"I can, but it's going to be hard." Willow admitted.
"And Tryndamere too," Sejuani said, as everyone turned to her. "His rage makes him stronger."
"Banner, can you handle him?" Steve asked.
Banner smirked, before speaking in a voice that was a mixture of Banner and Hulk. "I'll beat his ass."
"These guys are full of surprises." Diana muttered to Taric, who nodded in agreement.
"And Pantheon," Hercules added. "I shall bestow upon him the gift of combat."
"You sure?" Taric asked, worried. "He is the Aspect of War. A literal God."
"So am I," Hercules smirked, flexing his muscles for extra emphasis. "I am the God of Strength."
"And a handsome God too." Samira added, making everyone look at her weirdly.
"What?" she asked on noticing their expressions. "He's hot."
"Right, moving on now." Jason muttered.
"Can we go back three seconds to when I didn't have to hear that?" Marc groaned.
At that moment, there was a bright flash of light and Deadpool, Colossus, Cable, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio stood.
"Oh not this guy!" Jason and Rebecca exclaimed at the same time.
"Who are you?" Lucian demanded.
"Hey everyone! Name's Wade Wilson but you can call me the magnificent Deadpool!" Deadpool waved. He looked around and gasped. "This is the Ruination?! Multiverse King you motherfucker! I can't believe you weren't going to invite me!"
"What are you talking about, moron?" Cable grunted. Nearly everyone did a double take.
"Thanos?!"
"Nope not Thanos, name's Cable, from Earth-2016." He replied firmly.
"We are here to assist you all against the Ruined King." Colossus said.
"Good to have more backup." Jason smirked.
"He's crazy," Jinx said. She grinned. "I like him."
"Oh Gods, here we go." Morgana muttered.
"There's one more thing," Viviana spoke up as all looked at her. "Hecarim is about to invade Noxus and raze it to the ground."
Samira, Riven and Katarina stared in horror at that.
"We need to warn General Swain!" Riven said.
"Way ahead of you," Viviana replied calmly. "I've already sent King T'Challa there."
"Wait, you mean…" Rhodes asked and she smirked.
"The army of Wakanda will also take part in this fight."
Noxus, same time
Jericho Swain was going over some reports, when there was a bright flash of light.
Spinning, he turned and all the soldiers were on guard. T'Challa aka Black Panther stood there, with the army of Wakanda behind him. Okoye and Shuri were there as well.
"Halt! State your purpose!" a soldier aimed his spear, but Swain raised his human hand.
"I shall deal with this."
"But Grand General…" the soldier protested but Swain gave him a glare.
Walking forward, he saw T'Challa walk up to him as well.
"Jericho Swain?" T'Challa asked.
"That is me." Swain replied wearily.
"My name is T'Challa, King of Wakanda," the Black Panther said. "I have been sent here by a wizard named Doctor Strange to assist you against the Ruined King."
Swain's eyebrows raised slightly. He had heard of Doctor Strange from White Canary, and she obviously trusted him.
"Is that so, King T'Challa?" he asked calmly, using his Demonic powers to probe the King's mind for any hint of treachery. To his relief, he found none.
"Yes. In a few hours, the Undead general Hecarim will attack Noxus. I have brought the army of Wakanda to assist you in the battle against him." T'Challa replied.
To the surprise of the weary Noxians watching, Swain held out his human hand. A moment later, T'Challa gripped it.
"Although we may not know each other," Swain said. "I welcome your aid, King T'Challa. Let Noxus and Wakanda stand together against this foul enemy."
"Indeed," T'Challa said. He gestured behind him. "You shall have the Kingsguard, Dora Milaje, Border Tribe and Jabari Tribe to assist us in this battle."
M'Baku let out a chant as the Jabari Tribe began howling.
Swain smirked. Perhaps the tides were turning.
Sentinel Base, same time
"Okay, so who's going to the Shadow Isles to fight Viego and our friends?" Old-Bat asked.
"Not everyone should go," Jason said thoughtfully. Upon seeing everyone's looks, he elaborated. "Many of us don't have powers or skills, so we'll be liabilities. And this fight is gonna get bloody."
"I agree." Steve said, with Senna nodding in agreement.
"You are correct," Doctor Fate said, stepping forward. "Here is who shall go to the Shadow Isles- Kalista, the Sentinels of Light, the Avengers, Earth-167 Justice League, Team Arrow, Team Flash, Dominic Toretto's Crew, Willow Rosenburg and Tara Maclay, the Defenders, the X-Men of Earth-199999, the Fantastic Four, the Fellowship of the Ring, Deadpool, Cable, the Titans, Dean and Sam Winchester, the two Constantines, the Earth-96 Justice League, Spider-Man of Earth-2002, Batman of Earth-2005, Sinthea Parker of Earth-2012, The Doctor of Earth-63, Billy Butcher and Queen Maeve from Earth-72, Prince Charming and Mary Margaret Blanchard, Hercules, Venom and Geralt of Rivia."
"In that case, the rest of us can deal with the Wraiths." Rupert Giles realized.
"Indeed. Demacia, Ionia, Shurima, Piltover, all will come under attack. Everyone else will be more than busy dealing with that." Strange agreed.
"So it's decided." Lucian said as all nodded.
Steve looked at everyone.
"Avengers…Assemble!"
And done.
So all the Heroes of the Multiverse are here and ready to fight, while Noxus and Wakanda have joined forces to fight Hecarim and his army.
