My New Beginning: Part 3
Chapter 15 Stress Overload
-My Bedroom Nighttime-
I had trouble falling asleep thanks to Claire! She made my blood pressure go up to 141 over 100! I'm so tired of putting Emma through all this. At times, I believe Emma was better off with someone else than me. Great, I'm crying again! Damn pregnancy hormones! Damn Claire! Damn it all! Alright, calm down, Regina. Your blood pressure will go up again if you don't stop! Need to clear the mind. I have to picture myself somewhere nice. Finally, a picture formed in my mind. Wait a minute, I know this place.
-Achak's Wigwam Dreamland-
I looked around to see that I was by myself. I exhaled in frustration as I sat down where the small fire was then I stared into the fire.
"Achak, I don't know why I am here, but I would love to hear your voice right now."
"I was the one that brought you here, ah wee. You need to hear what I have to say. I am thankful that you are sitting down, because you will need to after you see and hear what is to come you and Emma's way."
I exhaled. "Alright, what is going on? Show me."
He picked up a powdery substance, began chanting, and violently tossed the powder into the fire. The flames rose, swirled, and light purple smoke filled the ceiling.
"A rift forms between Shadow Man and Claire. Claire gains more power from the darkness. Remember the dark figure you saw in the River of Truth. It will team up with Claire to try to separate you, Emma, and your family. Remember the prophecy."
"Yes, but right now, I'm pregnant with twin girls."
"No, you're not."
I turned quickly to face him. "What do you mean no I'm not pregnant with twin girls?"
"Because," he sat down next to me to look into my eyes. "You are pregnant with twins; a girl and a boy."
I shook my head trying to grasp what he just told me. I covered my mouth with my hand. I couldn't believe it. Emma and I conceived a boy and a girl when we were at Disney World! Tears flowed from my eyes.
"I'm afraid I have more bad news, Regina."
The image changed in front of us and Achak continued. "Claire will reverse the curse sending everyone back to the Enchanted Forest. This will cause you to go into early labor with the twins, but something happens to Katherine that I can't see. After you recover from giving birth to the twins, it will be the ultimate showdown between darkness and light. The outcome is very cloudy to me."
"Please tell me that I don't lose Katherine."
"I'm sorry, ah wee, it was too cloudy for me to see."
Tears poured from my eyes and my breath caught. "I can't lose Katherine, Achak. She's my baby girl!"
"Have faith, Regina. Once everyone is back in the Enchanted Forest, all will be fine. You have my word."
He gave me a hug and I cried into his shoulder until I went into a deep sleep.
* * * * *MY NEW BEGINNING* * * * *
-Emma and I's Bedroom-
I heard Emma's phone vibrating on the nightstand causing her to stir. She reached for it, picked it up, and answered it groggily, "Hello? Alright, I'm on my way. I'll see you there."
She slowly got out of bed trying not to wake me. Emma used her magic to change clothes. She walked over to the bed and gave me a butterfly kiss to my cheek. As she reached the bedroom door, I opened my eyes to see her about to leave.
"Emma? Where are you going?"
Emma turned around, walked back toward the bed, and knelt to where I could see her. "I got a call from dad. A body was found floating in the water by the docks. Go back to sleep, and I will see you when I get back."
I adjusted myself into a comfortable position and sleep easily took me that I didn't even feel when Emma kissed my forehead.
