My New Beginning: Part 3

Chapter 27 The Final Battle

There was a rumble in the floor then a blast of wood and splinters flew everywhere, and Claire and I flew up into the empty room. I threw Claire and then landed on the floor on my feet catching myself with my right hand watching as Claire hit the floor causing it to splinter.

"Oh, how stupid of me," I sarcastically spat as I walked up to my former friend and took her hand. "Let me help you up."

I electrocuted Claire's hand then with ease lifted her then threw her up toward the ceiling. The flaxen-haired woman hit the ceiling sending dust everywhere then she fell back into the same spot she fell in before. Claire groaned as she attempted to get up.

I waited for Claire to get up and when she did, I stated, "This ends now."

"I agree. Until the death."

I smiled evilly, "Until the death," and my arms burst into flames.

Claire's arms burst into black and maroon flames.

I sent a stream of golden flames towards Claire. Claire sent black and maroon flames towards me. The two streams met causing a blinding light. We held our own for what seemed to be about fifteen minutes. Claire sent her magic toward me. I focused with all my might and shot it back at Claire including her magic. It knocked Claire back, and I got winded. I knelt to catch my breath when I heard a familiar voice in my head.

"Come on, babe. Please talk to me and let me know that you are alright."

"Emma?"

"Regina! Thank God!"

"Emma, if I don't make it out of this…"

"Stop it right now! You will make it! This bitch is going down! Remember, she tried to kill our daughters and son. She also called you stupid."

"Thank you for reminding me of that dear."

"I love you, and I hope you can feel this."

I felt the warmth from deep down inside me giving me the strength I needed to continue. I smiled.

"Yes, my darling, I can feel it. I love you so much. It's time."

I looked at Claire who was finally getting up. I walked over to my former friend and noticed how bloody she looked from all the cuts on her face, neck, and arms.

"Give up?"

Claire sneered, "Never your majesty. I don't know the meaning of the word."

After glaring at each other, we ran towards each other with telekinetic flickering in our right hand. We both reached out and when our hands met…we took flight and a gold, black, and maroon magic funnel swirled with gold, black, and maroon lightning strikes. The funnel rose tearing apart the rest of what was left of the castle. Claire and I were separated by the force of the magical tornado's winds. Lightning strikes collide into one another as we defied gravity shooting balls of magic at each other. Seeing as we were getting nowhere, we stopped and glared at each other.

"Face it, Regina. You will never defeat me."

I felt my anger turn to rage. It rippled through my veins begging to be released.

"I beg to differ. It's time for you to face my fury."

I held out my hands, turned my gaze to the top of the funnel, closed my eyes, and pure white lightning strikes burst forth from within me zipping their way towards Claire. Claire's shield was no match for those electric strikes for they went right through it shocking the flaxen-haired woman sending her spiraling in the magical twister.

I opened my eyes, and in an angry Mayor/Queen tone, I said my final words, "I'm going to finish what you started years ago!"

I summoned power from deep down below, and in an ear-piercing scream, gold magic erupted from every angle of me. Every piece of magic that burst out of me hit Claire in the chest causing her to let out an ear-piercing scream. I watched as a large dark being smoked out of Claire then materialized in front of me. It was the same dark creature that I saw in the River of Truth. Oh shit!

The twister slowed down and began to lower itself down. Emma took Katherine into an embrace while watching the twister shrink in size. Gold watched in amazement as the twister started to reveal the outcome of the prophesized battle. The twister finally showed a very limp flaxen-haired woman, the dark creature from the River of Truth and a very exhausted me. When the last of the twister settled into dust, Emma ran up to me and the creature sent a ball of black magic toward her hitting her in the chest. Katherine summoned everything she had and sent it toward the creature. Emma helped me up and she joined in with sending gold electric magic toward the creature.

I stared at the nasty bastard or bitch and I demanded, "You will leave my family alone for all eternity! The magical sacrifice will make sure of it!"

Whatever strength I had left, I summoned it and sent it to the heart of the creature. A high-pitched scream sounded throughout the land. Gold covered his ears and just dodged more falling branches from when the creature exploded. I was too weak to stand. I felt myself go down then someone caught me.

I looked groggily at the one who caught me, "Emma?"

Emma smiled. "Shh…it's alright, babe. It's over."

I looked over in the direction of where Claire was and noticed she wasn't moving at all. I buried my face into Emma's shoulder and embraced her releasing tears that I held at bay for so long.

"Emma, I'm so tired."

"I know, babe. We'll be going back to our…um…castle? Hopefully, it's still standing and you can rest."

Katherine walked up to us and smiled. Emma decided to sit on the ground so I could sit. Katherine followed then she collapsed.

"Katherine!"

"Baby girl, are you alright?"

Gold magic enveloped her swirling at the speed of light then burst into gold specks revealing the little two-year-old girl with shoulder length dark brown wavy hair. Emma and I went to her side, and Emma took her in her arms. Eyes flickered and opened up to see us both looking at her worryingly.

"Ma? Mommy?"

I leaned forward, gave my daughter a big kiss on her cheek, and Emma gave her a big hug. I noticed Gold standing in the distance next to Zelena lying on the ground unconscious. I got up, and limped toward my former tutor.

I embraced him. "Thank you for what you've done. You helped save us all."

"In the end, dearie, you, Emma, and Katherine are the ones who saved us all. I was just a small piece of the entire puzzle."

My eyes widened when I saw Zelena on the ground.

"Zelena!"

Emma and Katherine walked toward me who was attempting to wake my sister who was under a large oak tree branch.

"Zelena, talk to me. This isn't funny you horrid green toad! Sis…sis…no!"

I leaned forward grabbing my limp sister, cradling her, and mourned. Emma took me in her arms consoling me as I cried for my sister.

"She died a heroic death, babe. She saved Katherine and me from a falling tree branch that was struck by black lightning. She wanted me to tell you that she loves you."

I cried harder, and Emma and Katherine held me as I continued to cry for the loss of my sister that I finally was beginning to have a relationship with. I was also crying in relief that my family is now free from any more magical threats. Claire was gone, and I never felt freer from my past then I did at that moment, but now I had another obstacle to face; a broken heart from the loss of a family member.
