Mika and Bose were still young, so it was normal for them to act out, and have immature tendencies. At the end of the day, they were still figuring out how to handle strong emotions and know when was the right time for communication.
When Bose left the diner he sat in his car for about an hour and a half, he wanted to wait for Mika to come out so they could talk or until her so-called shift ended. However, the longer he sat and thought about the situation the more upset he became at her, so he left and went home. He didn't know why Mika did what she did, but he was over her lying to him and closing him out. He wanted to be there for her but she makes it difficult when she doesn't tell him what's happening in her life and when she reaches her breaking point.
)
For the rest of the day, he tried to get his mind off of her. He tried to call Chapa because it'd been a while since they last caught up, he knew if he did they'd start talking about Mika. He thought about asking Miles to hang out but he's been out of town for about a week now. He was with Ray and Schwoz in Mexico having a guy's week. Bose was invited but he didn't want to leave Mika all by herself with Isadora.
That's when Bose realized that he seriously needed more friends, and made a mental note to make time to find some.
So he buried himself in the extra work he got from Willard and started brainstorming ideas for his upcoming campaign. He sorted them into two piles and started drafting a statement. Something that would appeal to the younger voters. Willard promoted him as his youth ambassador and Bose didn't mind. He just hoped that Willard didn't think this was a job that interested him, he was just doing it for the extra money and to learn some responsibility. Bose had no interest in politics.
As Bose was organizing he realized he was using methods that Mika had taught him and internally groaned. It was no use, Mika had invaded his head like termites. He looked at the time and it was nearly two in the morning. Bose put the paperwork away and thought maybe going to sleep, being unconscious, would at least stop him from thinking about her. Unless she chose to show up in his dreams.
When Bose got into bed, he pulled the comforter to his waisted and turned off the lights. As he tried to get comfortable he bought the comforter to his face and it smelled like lavender laundry detergent. Not like Mika, how it always use to, it'd been forever since she's been in his bed. Bose cursed himself and told his brain to shut up.
It was about 20 minutes into falling asleep that Bose realized he wasn't going to bed. There was this nagging in the back of his head telling him to go to Mika. That nagging was always there but this time it felt like some type of intuition.
So Bose started his car and drove to her.

When Bose got to her house, he didn't ring the doorbell because it was late and her parents were most likely sleeping. They disliked him enough. Bose went to the side and stretched his arms before climbing his way up to her window. He knocked when he got there but there was no reply.
"Mika? It's Bose," He called. Still no reply. "I know you're pissed at me, but I'm coming in," he said lifting the window up and stepping inside. Her lights were dimmed and he didn't see her, but instead, he saw a lumpy figure on her bed with a blanket covering it. He knew it was Mika, of course. Bose heard a small whimper and his head turned to Adora's crib. He went over and saw that she was awake and sitting. "Hey baby," Bose whispered to her and took her hand. Adora lifted her head to look at him and he saw dry tears stains on her face. Bose felt uneasy and wiped them away wondering how long she'd been crying before she couldn't anymore.
Bose went over to where Mika was and shook what he assumed was her shoulder. She didn't speak but Bose heard a groan and alarms started ringing in his head. Something was wrong.
Bose pulled the blanket away from her body and she was curled up in a fetal position, her curly hair covered her face and she was wearing only a rather big shirt he recognized as his. Bose kneeled down where her head was and pushed her hair behind her ear to look at her face. His eyes were bloodshot with worry now. "Mika? What's wrong," he softly spoke.
Mika also had tear stains running down her cheeks, her eyes were tightly shut, her skin looked pale, and she was holding her stomach. She looked terribly pained. Which was accurate because she was terribly pained. Mika opened her eyes and they were red and droopy. She saw Bose and whims of cries left her full lips.
Bose forgot about everything that had happened earlier and gave his full attention to what was happening at the moment. "Shh, tell me what's wrong, what hurts?" Mika couldn't speak due to her heavy chest aches and how every breath she took left her feeling like it was her last. Mika felt like death.
She began to cry harder, curling herself further into her knees and Bose stood up, lifted her head, sat on her pillow, then rested her head on his lap. Bose was trembling, he's never seen her this bad and Bose had never had to deal with a situation like this."It's gonna be okay, you're gonna be okay baby," his voice cracked as he placed his hand on hers, the one clutching her stomach.
"Where are your parents? Should I get them," Bose hastily asked. Mika shook her head still weeping, "I don't think they're here,". Bose took out his phone from his pocket and started dialing 911, holding Mika close to provide her some solace.
))
Mika was right her parents weren't home because when the ambulance came he didn't see them show up asking what all the noise was about. Bose didn't want to leave Mika's side so he told the dispatcher where the spare key was so they could open the door to get to them. However, he had to let her leave with the ambulance by herself because he still had Isadora to think about. Bose called his mom and told her that he would be dropping her off and then going back to the hospital for Mika. Ceila asked if he was sure he didn't want her to come with him but he insisted she stayed back and take care of Adora.
Bose was in the waiting room for two hours, going up to the main desk every 10 minutes asking for any updates. Bose's leg bounced impatiently and his fingers twitched with anxiety. Finally, after Mika was moved to a private room upon his request, a doctor explain to him that she experiencing late afterpains due to pregnancy. It should have passed but sometimes when the person doesn't take of themselves the proper way after giving birth, complications happen. Which is why Mika was going through this. The doctor also informed him that Mika's blood sugar was dangerously low along with her iron, they suspected that she wasn't eating and was well on her way to an eating disorder.
Bose listened with engrossment like he was the best doctor in the world and he was going to go in there and somehow cure her so he had to take note of all the information. Bose thanked him and they let him see Mika.
She was sound asleep when he walked in. They gave her antibiotics to help with the stomach pains, unclogged her milk duct, and rested some ice on her chest to help with the throbbing.
Bose's eyes stung as he looked at her sleeping, a needle in her wrist attached to an IV and a tube under her gown. He had no idea how much she was actually suffering. Bose rested his hand on her head of curls, "Why can't you ever let me help you?" he whispered.
Bose accepted that he'd be spending the night by her side. A nurse brought him a blanket, a pillow, and he got comfortable on the bay window that occupied the right side of the room. He gave Mika a kiss on the forehead and tried to get some shut-eye.
