A late night
It was a late night at the end of January when James Potter was returning to the common room of the Gryffindor. He intended to come earlier but then he was surprised by some stupid guys from Slysterin. He had to fight his way through them or he would have woken up the next day for sure in the hospital wing.
He entered the common room and saw Lily Evans standing next to the fireplace. Should he ask her out again, the last time he tried, it ended with him laying on the floor. He made a few steps into her general direction, then when he was standing directly behind her he placed one hand gently on her shoulder and asked: "What are you still doing her, I thought for sure I would be the last one still awake?"
She tuned back to him and gave him a grim look. "Don't touch me you stupid idiot!", she said and started to walk away from him. He looked after her, she was indent soo wonderful beautiful and had this sweet way of throwing her hair back when she was angry. He loved her so much …
"Lily sweetheart, please wait!", he called after her and followed her. She stopped just at the bottom of the staircases leading up to the girls dormitory's. "What did you just said?", she asked in a dangerous quiet way. He grinned and said: "I called you sweetheart, because I love you and you are for me the most best girl in the world!" She looked at him angrily and opened her mouth to start a fight, but she couldn't say one word because right when she was about to start he pulled her in his arms and gave her a soft smooth kiss directly at her lips.
This was such a surprise for her, that she didn't reacted as everyone in Hogwarts would had expected this from her in such a situation. She kissed him back.

After a few seconds they ended the kiss and just stared one another with big opened eyes. Did this really just happened!? They kept silence and stood without any movements for a long while, then James suddenly asked: "What about a date next Saturday my love?" Lily gave herself a few moments to consider then she nodded. "Okay, so this will be you one and only chance I will ever give you. Use it well James!"
After this she walked up to her dormitory and James stood still until he couldn't see her any longer. Then he smiled and headed to his own dormitory to finally get some sleep. He would need it when he would go out with Lily tomorrow.
