Now onto the story.

New Objectives
Finally having made her way out of sight and hearing range of the main base, Abby stopped and pulled herself up into a crouching position behind one of the trees.
She activated the codec. "Joel, did you get all that?"
"Loud and clear." He replied. "Got word from our base, Mel arrived safely and they're checking the data disks. Certainly confirms everything those scientists told you, sending you the specs of the machines, as much as we can get anyway."
Abby nodded. "Okay, got them. What do you mean, as much as we can get?"
"This isn't all the data. Apparently there are more disks, held in each of the other three bases. So new objective you'll have to fulfil. Check the other two bases here, get the data disks and return to the Agency base. After that…" Joel explained, trailing off.
"It's back to that first base for their data disks, got it." Abby confirmed.
Joel then added. "Right, so, to summarise, we have three prototype weapons and a fourth more dangerous one. Based on the specs we managed to get, it seems that if we are dealing with a Metal Gear, it's only this fourth weapon."
"So while they transported nuclear materials, these other three weapons don't have nuclear capabilities." Abby realized. "That's something of a relief at least."
"Abby, be serious."
"I am Joel." She said firmly. "I've dealt with one Metal Gear before, I can handle another, as for these others...they're not Metal Gears, so it's just a case of taking them down, they have to have weaknesses."
After another pause, Joel confirmed. "Seems most likely, but we'll need those other data disks in order to find that. Looks like they were split up for security purposes."
"Makes sense." Abby admitted. "Just need to decide what base to go to next, two of them…"
There was a lengthy pause at this.
Finally, Abby broke the silence.
"So, the question now is...which base should I head for first?"
Joel sighed. "Yeah, about that...I just know what you're going to say to this, but of course if I don't tell you, Owen and Mel will, so I'll just get it out there."
"Joel, what are you talking about?"
"I don't want you distracted from your mission." Joel explained. "But Owen and Mel informed us that they were present with friends, five of them, they were captured too and were taken to one of the bases, I've marked the base on your map, so we know you're going to save them. Go for it and just make sure you get the data disks as well."
Abby just laughed. "Joel, c'mon, they'd be useful, that's the only reason why."
"Sure, whatever you say." Joel fired back.
Nevertheless she saw that he had indeed marked it on her map. So now she knew what her next step was. Head for the western base and get the data disks there, save Owen and Mel's friends and then get the data disks from the northern base before returning to the Agency Base, after that she could plan her return to the first base and from there, they'd work out the next step. With everything ready, she began to continue her journey through the jungle, heading west.
