Chapter 25
Author's note :Clay was always the bio dad. Peyton knew that. And given how long they were together. Lucas would never question paternity. Peyton knew that. Lucas wanting to end their relationship is causing her to want to get back at him. Lucas was her constant for a long time. She's taking out that anger and frustration on the only outlet she knows would hurt Lucas.
Days Later
Tree Hill police department
Lucas used his one phone call to call Brooke. He had in custody for 48 hours.
She was desperate to know how he was and what was going on.
She informed him that the boys had been brought back to Peyton.
He told her that he needed to get out of here. He told her his bail amount and to his relief some time later he was released.
Given back all the items taken from him.
Brooke engulfed him into a hug.
Lucas hugged her back. Thanking her.
(I have to try to talk to Peyton. This whole situation is so out of control.) Lucas said.
Once they were in the parking lot.
(I'll drive you over there. Please be careful. I just want you and those safe.) Brooke replied.
Lucas nodded his head in agreement.
After a short drive. Brooke was near the home Lucas and Peyton shared.
Brooke watched as he went into the home using his key.
Brooke needed to distract herself. Plus she needed to keep the people closest to them up to date. She called Karen. Haley. Nathan. Skills. Mouth.
(It's bad Rachel.) Brooke said. The emotion in her voice thick.

(You don't want me anymore. They aren't you're sons. You get a clean break.)
(You should be thankful. Relieved.) Peyton said.
(I'm sorry I hurt you Peyton. I did love you. But in the end we weren't meant to last.)
(That doesn't mean what we had doesn't matter.) Lucas said.
He knew she felt angry hurt abandoned by him.
