Eli and Liv were preparing dinner for them and Fitz who was on his way from work, Liv set up the table while humming softly.
The doorbell soon rang, Liv smiled, "I'll get it!", she called out to her father before walking out the dining room, she hurried to the door and quickly opened it.
"Wow.. you look beautiful.", she blushed hard and grabbed Fitz's hand, pulling him inside, closing the door before bringing his lips onto hers, "Mmm, I missed you.", he kissed her again, "I missed you too Livvie.".
Liv smiled and took off his coat, hanging it up as he took off his shoes, "How was work?", she asked while rubbing his arms and back from behind, he sighed, "Long. But I'm glad to be here.".
"I'm glad you're here too.", he turned around and wrapped his arms around her waist, "How are you and the baby?", she smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, "We're good. It's still too early to tell so I scheduled an ultrasound in five weeks, would you like to join me?".
He smiled and stroked her stomach with his thumb softly, "Of course Livvie.", she smiled and gave him one more kiss before grabbing his hand and leading him to the dining room, "Dad, Fitz is here.".
Eli turned around and nodded at Fitz which he returned, the couple sat down and held hands in Liv's lap.
It was quiet at first and very awkward until Eli spoke up, "So.. you have a new case?", Fitz looked up and nodded, "Yeah, I can't go into too much detail but it looks like I've have to go to trial.".
"Good luck.", Eli slightly smiled, "Thank you.", Fitz nodded his head and looked at Liv as she gave his hand a gently squeeze, she looked up at him and smiled, he smiled back and kissed her cheek, making her blush.
They all made small talk while eating Christmas leftovers.
After cleaning up, Liv excused herself to the bathroom, leaving Eli and Fitz, alone, in the kitchen.
Fitz wiped the wet plate and placed it in the cabinet, Eli turned off the sink and dried off his hands.
He turned to Fitz, "What's your intention with her?", Fitz sighed and turned to Eli, "Look, Eli.. I know why you were upset, I would probably do the same.", "Then why are you doing it?".
"Because I love her. We make each other happy. I haven't felt this happy since... ever. Olivia brings out the good in me and ever since I found out she was pregnant with my baby, all I ever wanted to do was care for her and love her. We both didn't expect this to happen, we wanted time to grow our relationship but maybe that wasn't supposed to happen. Maybe it was time to have a baby and grow together as a family of three.".
Fitz poured his heart out to Eli and looked down, putting his hands in his pockets, "I know you probably don't believe me but believe me when I say, I do love Olivia and I promise to give her the happiness and love she deserves.".
Eli stood there and listened to Fitz, "She loves you too, you know?", Fitz looked up and smiled, "Yes, I do know.", he nodded, Eli stuck out his hand, Fitz quickly shaked it and smiled, Eli nodded and let go of his hand as Liv returned back to the two men.
"Hey, you guys okay?", she asked, taking Fitz's hand in hers again, Eli nodded, "Yeah, we're good.", Fitz said and brought her hand to his lips, kissing it softly, she smiled and nodded, "Ready to go?", she looked up at Fitz, he looked down at her and nodded.
Fitz looked at Eli, "Goodnight.", "Goodnight.", they shook hands again before Liv walked Fitz to the door, "So.. did you guys talk?", she asked, he nodded, "We did.", "And?", he put his shoes on, "He didn't say much but I think he's slowly warming up.", she smiled happily and helped him with his coat, "That makes me happy.", "Me too baby.".
He kissed her forehead and gave her a tight but careful hug which she returned, "I love you so much Fitz.", he kissed her lips lovingly, "I love you too Livvie.".
They exchanged a few more kisses before Fitz left, she waved at him before closing the door, sighing happily as she returned back to her father in the kitchen.
She sat on the stool as he made himself some tea since Liv didn't like tea but she couldn't drink coffee since she was pregnant.
They decided to sit in the living room and chat for a bit before going to sleep.
Liv sat next to her father on the couch, listening to the fire from the fireplace.
Eli grabbed her hand which made her look at him, "He loves you.", she smiled and nodded, "And I love him too.", "Come to me if he hurts you, okay?", she frowned, "Dad.", he stroked her hand softly, "I tell you this every time you meet someone new.", "I know but Fitz is different, he would never hurt me.", he nodded and sighed, taking a sip of his tea, "I know.".
She sighed and looked back at the fireplace, "I just need time Liv, this is all so new.", she nodded, "I know dad, trust me, this is new to me too. We're giving you time, especially Fitz.", he raised is eyebrow, confused, "What do you mean especially Fitz?", she chuckled and looked down at her lap.
"I mean he hasn't even asked me to be his girlfriend yet because he's waiting for your approval.", he looked at the fireplace and took another sip, thinking.
"I'm tired dad, I'll see you tomorrow.", she let go of his hand and stood up, he looked back at her, "Goodnight Liv.", she smiled at her father, "Goodnight dad.".
She headed upstairs and sighed deeply, placing her hand on her flat stomach, she entered her bedroom and started to get ready for bed, taking off her makeup and clothes.
She put on a silky night gown that went to the middle of her thighs, putting her hair up in a bun and laying down, she grabbed her phone, receiving a text from Fitz, saying 'he made it home', she responded and they texted for a while until their eyes got heavy, saying 'goodnight' to each other and going to sleep.
