The forests around Sanjo City are always so calm and peaceful, a perfect place to go camping. A group of campers were camping in a clearing close to the river.

"I love camping in the great outdoors." One of them said.

"So do I." Another said. "There's nothing like sleeping out under the stars and surrounded by the sounds of nature."

"Yeah, the Owls hooting, the Crickets chirping and the Frogs croaking." Another added. "It's the greatest natural lullaby in the world at night."

Then the group heard the sound of a loud shriek.

"What was that?" Someone asked.

"I don't know." Another said. "Maybe it was a Fox."

"No way." Another said. "That was way too loud to be a Fox."

"And it wasn't a Wolf either." Another added.

"Maybe we should go home now?" Someone suggested.

"It's way too dark to go back now." The chief expeditioner said. "It's better for us to stay here and wait until morning comes so we can see."

"You're right chief." Someone agreed. "We're better off seeing in the sunlight than the moonlight."

"Well let's hope nothing bad happens while we sleep." Another yawned. "Night everyone."

"Goodnight!"

And one by one everyone fell asleep, but the Creature that made that shriek was nearby the campsite. The Creature was another Dinosaur that was about to go to the river for a drink, but stopped when it saw the fire. Deciding not to tempt fate, the Dinosaur chose to head back into the forest to find water somewhere else.

(Intro theme)

The next day Jim was walking through the meadow with a couple of high school students. The two were about a few years older than him and the D-Team. The girl had orange hair and green eyes, while the other was a boy who had blonde hair. They actually looked like Sparticus and Sofia from the gladiator times.

"Just look at them out there." Jim said, seeing some of the Dinosaurs running past them. "Ridiculous."

"Hey Spartacus." The girl said to her brother. "Don't they look like they're having fun? Don't you wish you were a Dinosaur sometimes?"

"You have got to be kidding Sofia." Jim scoffed.

"Why do you say that Jim?" Spartacus asked. "They do look mighty happy together."

"Please just look at them." Jim said. "When one of them sleeps, they all sleep. When one of them runs, they all run! It's like they have no minds of their own."

"Now Jim." Spartacus said. "They're just having fun."

"Just once I'd like to see them think for themselves." Jim said.

"Everyone of those Dinosaurs is a real individual." Spartacus said, as the Dinosaurs stopped to feel the wind in their faces. "But when they want to, they work and play together. They have their own Dinosaur society you see, and they're all a part of it."

"Well I still say it's ridiculous." Jim said.

"Maybe you've forgotten what you learnt about society in your school, Jim." Sofia said. "But I remember Rhysa telling me and my brother about the time Sammy and some of the others discovered their origins of how they developed the ability to talk."

"Oh yes, the moonlit meadow story." Spartacus said.

DK

It was night time in Sanjo City as the Dinosaurs of the D-Team were settling down for the night, many of them were already fast asleep. The only ones that were still awake were Sammy, Rock Slab, Sorow, Blue Brow, Sweet Teeth, Martha, Nessie, Laurna, Crown, Sally, Luckie and Ozzie.

Then there was the sound of a loud shriek.

"Did you hear that?" Sammy asked. "Listen!"

The other Dinosaurs listened, but they didn't hear anything.

"I don't hear anything Sammy." Sorow said.

"Me neither." Ozzie said.

"It came from out there." Sammy said. "Somewhere toward the meadow."

"You're imagining things." Rock Slab said, as he lay down to sleep.

"I'm telling you, there's something out there!" Sammy said.

"Quiet down Sammy!" Martha said, as she prepared for sleep. "I'm trying to get some sleep."

"So am I." Luckie said, laying down.

"Me too." Sally added, lying down.

"It's late." Blue Brow added.

"All right." Sammy said. "But there's something very strange out there."

DK

The next morning the twelve Dinosaurs were outside in a special open field with a little pond, getting some fresh ferns and meat to eat.

"Come on guys!" Nessie said, rearing up on her back legs. "Let's have a nice run!" Nessie then started running or fast walking as some Sauropods couldn't run.

The others stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to the Sauropod.

"Yeah!" Sweet Teeth agreed.

"Let's go!" Crown added.

"Wait up Nessie!" Laurna called, and they all started running.

The twelve Dinosaurs were soon out in the field running and dust began to fill the air. The dust and dirt was even reaching the part of the fence Jim was sitting on.

"Watch it!" Jim complained, but the Dinosaurs didn't hear him. "Watch the hair! Don't get dirt on the hair!" But it was too late, as Jim brushed the grass and dirt out of his hair. "What a revolting display of herd mentality!" Jim then jumped off the place he was sitting and saw Spartacus and Sofia. "Why can't Dinosaurs be more independent like me?" He asked no one in particular. "Why can't they act like individuals?"

"They're just as individual as you and us are Jim." Spartacus said. "But they've learnt to live in groups, in a sort of society."

Jim just rolled his eyes and got his water bottle out to drink, as Spartacus and Sofia saw Sammy and her friends were coming to the small pond for their own drinks. Sammy, Rock Slab, Laurna and Sorow all got in front and began drinking, right in Jim's space.

"Don't crowd me!" Jim complained, as he tried to squeeze out of the space he was squashed in. "Watch it!" But then he lost his balance. "WOAH!" Jim then fell backwards and splashed into the pond with a big 'Splash'.

"Oops." The Dinosaurs said, looking up from their drinks.

"Jim!" Sofia gasped, as Spartacus let out a chuckle.

Jim was alright, but he was now soaking wet and very cross. "Oh you big clumsy oafs!" Jim groaned to the Dinosaurs. "Have you ever heard of taking it in turns? You're all just a bunch of herd Animals!"

"Huh?" The Dinosaurs asked, confused and looking at each other.

"Either you do everything together!" Jim said, shaking his hair dry. "Or you do whatever your friends tell you. Don't you ever think for yourselves?"

The Dinosaurs felt offended by Jim's assumption and were cross.

"Hey I think for myself!" Sammy said. "That's what makes me good at pulling trucks when they need a tow."

"And why do you think I'm the best at rock pushing?" Rock Slab asked.

"Pulling, pushing, moving." Jim said, dismissively. "That's doing what they tell you to do. But you can't help it, you're just Dinosaurs."

The twelve Dinosaurs that were present were very offended and angry at what Jim said, as they snorted, stamped their feet in anger and roared.

"Easy guys." A voice came, as the Dinosaurs looked in the direction of the voice.

It was some of Spartacus and Sofia's high school friends, who had come to see their Dino friends. One of the girls named Sarah walked over to Martha.

"What's the matter here Martha?" She asked the Spinosaurid, who just growled.

"They'll calm down." Another girl named Chloe said, walking over to Sammy. "Once we get them all ready for the day, and take them for a nice trail ride." As she and the others took the Dinosaurs to get ready for their trail ride after they'd done their work experiences.

"Now see what you've started?" Spartacus asked Jim crossley.

"Did I do that?" Jim asked innocently.

DK

After about half an hour the Dinosaurs were ready to go, as another boy named Will was giving the others their rucksacks.

"Guess we'd better get going." Will said. "You and Laurna are going to lead us today Bailey."

"Okay, Laurna." Bailey said, as he stroked the Hadrosaur's snout. "Let's get going."

But as Bailey prepared to climb onto Laurna's back, she inhaled deeply, as Bailey climbed onto the step, it slid upside down and he fell over.

"Wha!" Bailey cried.

"Whoa. Bailey!" Nani gasped. "Are you alright?"

"What happened?" Bailey asked, as he got up. "I know I checked that step."

"I think Laurna must've taken a deep breath and puffed himself up when we were cinching the special saddle." Will said. "Rex did say that Dinosaurs can do that sometimes."

"But Laurna's never done that before." Bailey said.

It was then that the high school students began to notice something off about their Dino friends.

"Calm down Crown!" Chase said, trying to ease the Styracosaurus.

"Easy girl." Chloe said, as Sammy snorted, and pawed the ground with her front left foot.

"They're all acting sort of strange today." Will noted.

"Could they be sick?" Molly wondered.

"I ask Dr. Tokugawa to come down and take a look at them." Will said.

After about an hour, Dr. Tokugawa had finished and began heading back to his office.

"Well the good news is, that Dr. Tokugawa said there's nothing physically wrong with the Dinosaurs." Nani said.

"Phew, that's a relief." Molly sighed.

"But what is bothering them?" Sarah wondered.

"Hey, maybe they've just got attitude." Chloe said.

"There's nothing wrong with that." Chloe's sister Zoey said.

"Sometimes the Dinosaurs do get bored and restless like us." Alexia said.

"Dr. Tokugawa said that a trail ride might settle them down, and help them burn off some energy." Will suggested.

DK

Soon the twelve high school students were on the backs of their Dino friends and were currently trail riding through the forest. But it didn't seem to matter either as they still had attitude, as Rock Slab flicked his tail into Sweet Teeth's face making her snarl and tried to lunge for him, but Amber intervened.

"Easy Sweet Teeth!" She eased, as the Mapusaurus stopped. "It was only an accident." The Theropod growled softly before they continued.

Rock Slab snorted at the Theropod as they continued. "What's wrong with you Rock Slab?" Madison asked. "You've never acted like that." Rock Slab didn't respond, he just roared, before charging down the hill.

"Whoa! AH!" Madison cried, as she didn't expect the speed. Rock Slab was really running fast, well as fast as an Ankylosaur could. "Rock Slab! Where are you going?" But the Edmontonia didn't reply, and kept on running. "WHAA!" Madison screamed, as she thought she was gonna fall off.

But luckily Chloe had managed to catch up to them on Sammy. "Hang on Madison!" Chloe said, grabbing Rock Slab's reins, as they got to the bottom of the hill, Sammy stopped and with Chloe helping Rock Slab finally stopped.

"Phew, thank you Chloe." Madison panted. "I just don't know what's gotten into these Dinos."

Sammy then snorted at Rock Slab who returned with his own snort.

After regrouping with the others, Will got off Ozzie and tied his reins to a tree.

"I don't really know what's bothering the Dinosaurs." He said, as the others did the same and got off their Dino friends. "Let's give them some rest huh?"

They all agreed, as Sarah tied Martha's reins to a log, Amber and Alexia did the same with Sweet Teeth and Nessie.

"They're all acting funny." Molly said, as she tied Sally's reins to another log.

"Yeah, and not the ha, ha kind of funny." Bailey added, while he tied Laurna's reins to a tree.

"It's more like the weird kind of funny." Zoey said, as she tied Luckie's reins to a branch.

Chloe and Madison then tied Sammy's and Rock Slab's reins to a log and went to join the others. Once they were gone Sammy scolded the Edmontonia.

"Look, I don't like this anymore than you do, but why'd you try and toss Madison right out of the saddle?"

"I'm through with being told what to do and how to do it!" Rock Slab answered. "And if you wanted to be your own boss, you'd be doing something about it too!" Rock Slab then tried to pull himself free.

"Hey! I am my own boss!" Sammy retorted, as she snorted. "You think I won't try and do something about it?! Then I'll show you!"

Sammy then started to pull and pull with all her might to try and get the reins free, and then with one final pull she pulled herself out of her special harness.

"See? I'm now free!" Sammy roared. "I'm now on my own! I don't even need the rest of you anymore!" Sammy then turned around and ran off into the forest.

Instantly the other Dinosaurs tried to do the same thing and get themselves loose, but this didn't go unnoticed by the students.

"Oh, what's going on now?" Will asked.

Chloe then noticed that there was a Dino missing.

"Wait, where's Sammy?" Chloe asked, looking around.

Ozzie meanwhile pulled, and pulled until the reins untied themselves for the tree, but before he could run off, Will grabbed them. Ozzie growled as he tried to get free again, but Will didn't let go.

"Easy Ozzie." Will soothed. "Calm down boy." Ozzie calmed down.

"Sammy! Come back here!" Chloe cried, but Sammy was already gone. "Sammy?

"We'll have to go after her!" Will said, getting on Ozzie's back. "Come on Ozzie!" Ozzie just growled as they headed out.

"Wait! What about me?" Chloe asked.

"We can ride double, while we look for Sammy." Madison said, but Rock Slab just snorted.

Madison then helped her friend onto the Edmontonia.

"Thanks Madison." Chloe said, as she wrapped her arms around the girl's stomach.

"Don't worry Chloe, we'll get her back." Alexia said, as she rode on Nessie's back. "She couldn't have gone too far."

With that said, the search for the Diceratops began.

Later, Sarah on Martha, Alma on Blue Brow, Molly on Sally, Bailey on Laurna and Nani on Sorow were calling out to see if Sammy was in the area.

"Sammy! Sammy!"

"Where are you Sammy?"

"Sammy!"

Elsewhere Alexia, Amber, Madison and Chloe were searching for Sammy in another clearing.

"Sammy!" Chloe called out. "Where are you girl?"

Sammy was indeed close, but she was hiding behind some trees and bushes. She could hear how worried Chloe was, but she ignored her.

"Sorry, Chloe." Sammy said. "But I'm going to prove to everyone that I do think for myself."

"Sammy!" Chloe cried.

While they weren't looking Sammy ran past them and headed deeper into the forest.

The search party searched for Sammy all afternoon and well into the rest of the day. But they couldn't find her anywhere. Will looked for any fresh tracks but couldn't find any. As Madison and Chloe arrived on Rock Slab, he made a decision.

"It's almost sunset guys." He said. "We'd better call this off and get back to Sanjo City."

"But we can't leave Sammy all alone up here in the mountains overnight!" Chloe said, worried that something might happen to her Ceratopsian friend. "What would Rex say if we lost one of his herd members?"

Rock Slab and Ozzie just growled and snorted at each other.

"Don't worry Chloe, Sammy's gotten to know these forests well enough like any other Dinosaur in a short amount of time." Will said, getting on Ozzie's back. "I'm sure she'll find her way back to Sanjo City."

With nothing else they could do until morning, the high school students had no choice but to head back to Sanjo City, without Sammy.

DK

It was now very dark and the moon was high in the sky, as the sound of Crickets chirping and Owls hooting filled the night air and an eerily mist began to form. Sammy, who was still alone, wandered through the misty forest. She was a little scared, but she just pretended to be brave.

"It's kinda spooky out here." She said to herself. "But it's nothing a Dinosaur like me needs to be afraid of. I'm all okay on my own, I don't need the rest of them."

Then Sammy heard the sound of a low rumble, as she came to a stop.

"Who's there?" Sammy asked, snorting as she got into a defensive position.

There was no reply other than the sound of an Owl hooting. "I know you're there!" Sammy said. "So come on out where I can see you!"

Sammy turned to see who was hiding in the forest expecting it to be a Fox or a Deer, but when the Creature came out Sammy was surprised to see that the Creature was another Dinosaur.

The Dinosaur was another member of the Raptor family, with the same sharp teeth in its mouth, sharp claws on its hands and the same toe claws on its feet. But its whole body was covered in feathers like White-Tip and her pack, these feathers were even whiter than White-Tip's and the feathers went all the way to the end of its tail. The tail feathers were slightly greyer than the rest of feathers covering its body. There were even moon rock coloured feathers covering its neck, with its mouth being the only place not covered in feathers. Its face was coloured moonlight white with its teeth shining in the moonlight. This Dinosaur was a Dakotaraptor.

The Dakotaraptor then walked forward as it glowed in the moonlight.

[What are you doing out here?] The Dakotaraptor asked the Diceratops in a spooky male voice. [You don't belong here.]

"A g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-GHOST!" Sammy stuttered before she screamed.

Sammy was very spooked by the Raptor in front of her as he walked towards the Ceratopsian.

[I said you shouldn't be here!] The Dakotaraptor said, walking in front of her. [Go back with the others of your herd!]

"I don't need them!" Sammy retorted, still spooked. "I'm not even part of any herd!"

[I said go back!] The Dakotaraptor said, facing the Ceratopsian as his feathers glowed in the moonlight. [To where you belong!]

Sammy was so spooked by the Dakotaraptor's glowing feathers that she ran off into the forest to the one place she'd be safe. Sanjo City.

Meanwhile back in Sanjo City, the other eleven Dinosaurs were back in the D-Lab with Chomp, Ace and Paris in chibi-form trying to figure out where Sammy went.

"Sammy's probably having the time of her life out there." Luckie said.

"And we're stuck here!" Rock Slab groaned. "The same old D-Lab, same old routine!"

"I just hope she's alright." Sally said. "All alone out there, in the dark, at night."

Then the sound of a roar was heard.

"What was that?" Sorow asked.

Everyone turned to see the source of the noise and they were surprised to see Sammy, who was out of breath and very spooked.

"You won't believe what I just s-s-saw!" Sammy stuttered, still spooked. "In the m-m-m-meadow! A g-g-g-g-ghost Dinosaur!"

"What?" Ace asked.

"A g-g-g-g-ghost?!" Paris squealed, hiding behind Chomp.

"A ghost?" Blue Brow asked. "Have you been eating the bad ferns again?"

"There's no such thing as ghosts Sammy." Crown said.

"You probably just saw a moon shadow." Martha added.

"I saw it! It's out there!" Sammy cried. "A real ghost!"

"I'm scared Chomp!" Paris cried, hugging her boyfriend.

"Me too Paris, me too." Chomp added.

DK

The next morning before heading to school, Chloe wanted to stop by the D-Lab to see if Sammy had come back. Opening the doors to the lab she was relieved to see that her Diceratops friend had returned safe and sound.

"Sammy! You're back!" Chloe cried, racing into the lab. "I'm so glad to see you!" She then gave the Ceratopsian a hug. "I was so worried about you, that I couldn't sleep last night."

Sammy smiled as she nuzzled her human friend, but then Rock Slab snorted at her, and that made Sammy stop her nuzzling and turned her head crossley.

"Oh, what's wrong Sammy?" Chloe asked, but Sammy just turned her head.

"Don't worry Chloe." Amber said, as she, Madison and Alexia entered the lab. "She probably just had a hard night out there."

"Yeah, it couldn't have been any fun being up in the mountains all alone." Amber added.

"Sammy's probably gonna be tired from that adventure." Alexia said. "We'll take them for a ride tomorrow, but we'd better get going or we're gonna be late for school."

After the four high school girls left the lab, Terry, Spiny and Tank arrived in their chibi-forms. They had heard about this 'ghost' that Sammy saw from Chomp, Ace and Paris and Terry decided to check it out.

"I'm going to the meadow and figure out what Sammy really saw." Terry said.

"Oh good idea, I'll come with you!" Spiny said. "Come on Tank!"

"Well, since my plans for a day of training with Blaster are already off, since she's busy helping out at the skateboard park." Tank said. "I guess I can't pass up the chance for a ghost hunt."

"Well let's get going." Terry said.

"Yeah, we're on a ghost hunting mission!" Spiny said.

The three chibi Dinosaurs then headed out of the D-Lab and off in the directions of the forest.

Later the trio were searching for any clues or something that might help them get a better understanding of what Sammy saw. Terry was sniffing the ground, Tank was walking looking for something and Spiny who was bringing up the rear was just tired, and fell on the floor.

"Oh that was a long walk all the way from the lab." Spiny panted. "Find anything guys?"

"All I've found are grass, trees and Bugs." Tank said. "Maybe we should go back."

Terry was about to agree, until his Tyrannosaurus nose picked up the scent of something that wasn't a forest Animal. Terry sniffed the scent really well and after a few more sniffles he made his verdict.

"This is where the other Dinosaur was."

"You said Dinosaur." Spiny said, getting back on his feet. "Are you sure it wasn't a ghost Sammy saw?"

"It was definitely a real Dinosaur." Terry said, sniffing again.

"No ghost would leave a scent behind Spiny." Tank said.

"But I thought they did." Spiny said, which ended with him getting a tail whacking by Tank.

"Terry, if a Dinosaur's been here, why didn't it get detected on the kids Dino Holders?" Tank asked.

"I think Reese was having their Dino Holders checked over and needed all four of them." Terry said.

"So where's the trail lead too?" Spiny asked.

Terry sniffed again and then his nose showed where the trail led too.

"The trail leads back into the woods." Terry said.

"Well we've come this far, we should follow the trail right?" Spiny asked.

"No, we've found what we came here for." Tank said. "There's nothing more we can do here."

"Tank's right." Terry said. "Come on guys, if we hurry we can get back to Sanjo City before it gets too dark." Terry then raced off.

"Good point, maybe we'll even make it back for dinner time!" Tank said. "'Cause I'm starving!" Tank then followed Terry.

"Wait for me guys!" Spiny said, following the two back to the city.

Back in the city, the twelve Dinosaurs were in the open field getting some fresh air.

"Well at least we didn't have to do anything today." Sweet Teeth sighed.

"And at least we don't have any ghosts here." Blue Brow joked, as the others laughed.

Sammy just stared, not amused at Blue Brow's joke.

"There aren't any ghosts in the meadow either." Spiny said, as he, Tank and Terry arrived.

"What?" Sammy asked, as the Dinosaurs turned to the three chibi Dinosaurs arriving.

"Terry, Spiny and I went there earlier." Tank said. "The Dinosaur you saw was real Sammy."

"You mean you saw him?" Sammy asked.

"I picked up his scent." Terry said. "It was a Dinosaur."

"A Wild Dinosaur." Sally said. "Probably lived his whole life in the mountains when he was summoned from his card all alone."

"Yeah, he's probably doing whatever he wants whenever he wants to." Nessie added.

"And you missed the chance to be free because you were afraid of a Wild Dinosaur!" Luckie said, to Sammy.

"Oh yeah? Well I'll show you who's not afraid!" Sammy said.

Then before anyone could ask her what she meant, Sammy ran towards the lowest part of the fence, jumped over it and headed off into the forest.

The other Dinosaurs gasped at what Sammy had just done.

DK

Later at night, Sammy had managed to find her way back to the meadow where she had first encountered the Dakotaraptor.

"Hello!" Sammy called out, into the forest. "Are you still here? I just want to talk to you."

Sammy moved towards the bushes when she heard rustling, thinking it was the Dakotaraptor, but the Dinosaur that came out was.

"Rock Slab!" Sammy gasped, seeing the Edmontonia's head poke out. "What in the world are you even doing here? Why'd you even follow me?"

"I don't follow anybody!" Rock Slab retorted.

The two then heard more footsteps coming from behind them, turning around they saw the other ten had followed Sammy to the meadow.

"Oh Jim was right!" Sammy said. "Even when I try to be my own boss, you all do the same thing that I do!"

"Hey, I came up here because I wanted to!" Rock Slab retorted.

"Well I found this place first!" Sammy retorted back.

"Ahem!" Martha said. "I have as much right to be here as you!"

"So do I!" Sorow roared.

"I do too, you know!" Luckie growled.

"The same goes for me!" Blue Brow snorted.

"That goes for me too!" Sally roared.

"Same here!" Sweet Teeth added.

"I can be here if I want too!" Laurna bellowed.

"I want to be here, so I'm here to stay!" Crown snorted.

"The same goes for me too!" Nessie roared.

"And me!" Ozzie finished.

Then the twelve Dinosaurs heard the sound of chuckling and all heard the same voice.

[You all remind me of the very First Dinosaurs.] Everyone turned and to their surprise there was the Dakotaraptor standing in front of them.

"It's you again!" Sammy gasped, before becoming curious. "What do you mean by 'First Dinosaurs'?"

"Is that, is that the Ghost Dinosaur?" Rock Slab asked.

[It was a long, long, long, long, long time ago. Our Goddess Seikatsu has passed the story of the very First Dinosaurs down since she had created them to test if the Dinosaurs could rule the Earth.]

Then in a flashback back 252,000,000 years ago in the time of the Late Permian Period and the Early Triassic Period, there were 12 Dinosaurs that looked just like Sammy and the others. But there was a big difference, the Dinosaurs both Herbivores and Carnivores, were alone.

[Back before the first Triassic Dinosaurs had yet to evolve, that were our ancestors. In those days Dinosaurs had no language, because they had no call to speak to each other.]

The twelve Dinosaurs didn't interact with each other, they only attended to their own business. The Diceratops that looked like Sammy just ran freely feeling the wind in her face.

[Each was alone, not part of a group, each did what either he or she alone wanted to do.]

The D-Team's Dinosaurs had now gotten interested in this Dakotaraptor's story and had all stopped their squabbling and looked at him.

[It's really fun to do things only you want to do, but it can be very difficult and also dangerous when you're not part of a Dinosaur society.]

"Well, I get by, all on my own, with no problem!" Sammy snorted, and the others did the same.

[That's what the First Dinosaurs thought too.] The Dakotaraptor said. [But you can never tell what dangers may be lurking, and you might need the help of a friend.]

And indeed danger was lurking around in the forest, in the form of Midnight, Phantom and Wrath.

"Hey look guys!" Midnight said, seeing the Dakotaraptor. "Looks like we've found our target."

"And a lot more bonus targets!" Phantom smirked.

"We keep moving in quietly." Wrath said, as the three Hybrids moved in closer.

[In the old times, when the First Dinosaurs lived alone, each did what he or she wanted, when he or she wanted.]

The Diceratops that looked like Sammy and the Edmontonia that looked like Rock Slab were then pawing the ground at one another and roaring loudly.

[They had no friends, they were all alone.]

The Diceratops then snorted fiercely and the Edmontonia responded with its own snort. The two roared as they reared up on their back legs and prepared to fight.

[When the First Dinosaurs met, they fought.]

The two Herbivores then charged and prepared to fight each other.

[It took the First Dinosaurs a long time to learn that we're happier, safer and stronger when we are part of a group, a society.]

"But sometimes I don't want to be a part of a group." Martha said.

[The important thing is to be both who you are as an individual and also to be part of your Dinosaur society as well.]

The First Dinosaurs were then seen still being alone and not being in a group with each other.

[The First Dinosaurs didn't know how to do that, they only cared for themselves.]

The Ithchyovenator was enjoying a nice tasty Amphibian, when it suddenly sniffed the air as it growled. It turned and noticed a raging forest fire heading towards it.

[Even in times of danger.]

The Spinosaurid roared in fear before sprinting away as fast as it could. The Ceratosaurus who was eating from a carcass noticed the Spinosaurid running away.

[The First Dinosaurs thought only of themselves.]

Turning its head it saw the fire coming towards it, it roared in fear before running away as well.

[It would still take many years but slowly they began to see, they needed each other.]

The other Dinosaurs also ran away from the fire in different directions.

[We all have our part to play.]

Rock Slab then snorted. "I can take care of myself!"

"But, sometimes it helps to have help." Sally admitted.

[No one Dinosaur can do everything.] The Dakotaraptor said.

The Stegosaurus was then walking through a very scorched desert.

[Times when we need one another.]

The Stegosaurus roared as she was very hot, sore footed, hungry and thirsty. She then collapsed on the desert floor and thought it was the end for her, that was until the sound of footsteps came and there coming were the Diceratops, Edmontonia, Ozraptor and Edmontosaurus.

[It was the need to work together which led the First Dinosaurs to speak.]

The Diceratops then nuzzled the Stegosaurus' head as she spoke.

"Up." She said.

"You, do it." The Ozraptor spoke.

"Must get up." The Edmontonia added.

Then the Stegosaurus managed to get herself back on her feet, and followed the other four.

[Help was given, help was taken and friendships were made, and the First Dinosaurs became a true society.]

Now all twelve Dinosaurs were travelling together in one group across the desert. They carried on for a few days until the Lambeosaurus raced to the top of a hill and hooted.

"Water! Food!" She called.

The other eleven Dinosaurs roared happily at this and they followed their friend to the food and water.

[They gave up some of their freedom to live in a group.]

The twelve Dinosaurs were soon in an open field where there was fresh water, plants and some carcasses. The Ceratosaurus, Mapusaurus, Styracosaurus and Edmontonia drank from the water. The Edmontosaurus and Lambeosaurus shared some ferns, the Amargasaurus ate from a tree, and the Ozraptor and Saurophaganax shared a carcass of a Scutasaurus.

[But they found it was better for them all.]

The Diceratops then approached the Ithchyovenator and they shared a friendly nuzzle.

[In the group there was friendship and a way to help and be helped.]

The Stegosaurus then feasted on some ferns as she was happy to have something to eat.

[Together as a society of Dinosaurs, there was no danger or problem that they could not overcome.]

Suddenly there was the sound of a growl as a big Gorgonopsid, the biggest of its kind appeared and growled ready for its next kill.

"DANGER!" The Stegosaurus roared.

The other Dinosaurs heard the roar of their herd-mate and they all quickly stood together. The Saurophaganax roared loudly as the Gorgonopsid responded with its own roar. The Styracosaurus then lowered his head and showed his horns, as the Stegosaurus thumped her tail showing her thagomizers.

The Gorgonopsid then saw it was out numbered and then retreated to find an easier meal, as the Dinosaurs watched it go.

The D-Team's Dinosaurs were all completely speechless, they didn't know what to say, they never knew that Seikatsu had set up the first of their kind to test themselves in the Permian Period.

Until finally Sweet Teeth broke the silence. "Wow! That's some story!"

"You can say that again, Sweet Teeth." Ozzie added. "So that's how we gained the ability to talk."

"But sometimes I just want to be all alone and do things only I want to do." Sammy said.

[We all feel that way at times.] The Dakotaraptor said. [And it can be a good thing, if you don't go too far.]

"You mean like trying to run away from my herd-mates?" Sammy asked.

[Always remember that being part of a society of Dinosaurs, means you care about one another.] The Dakotaraptor said. [Through the good times and the bad times.]

The three Hybrids had managed to sneak towards the 13 Dinosaurs unnoticed, as they prepared an ambush.

"Perfect." Phantom whispered.

"Get ready to attack." Midnight smirked.

"On my signal." Wrath said.

Unfortunately even though the Hybrids were hidden, this didn't change the fact about their scents. Something that Sorow picked up on.

"Do you smell that?" Sorow asked, before turning around. "MIDNIGHT, PHANTOM AND WRATH!"

"SURPRISE!" The three Hybrids roared, as a battlefield appeared. "You're all coming with us!" The Hybrids roared running forward.

But the D-Team's Dinosaurs didn't feel intimidated by the Hybrids, and instead they stood together. Sorow roared as did Sweet Teeth, Crown and Sammy showed their horns, Sally showed her thagomizers, Luckie, Martha and Ozzie bared their teeth, Nessie reared up on her hind legs, Rock Slab thumped his tail, and Laurna and Blue Brow stamped their front feet in defensive kicks.

"Oh dear!" Midnight cried. "We're outnumbered!"

"Aboard! Aboard! Aboard the mission!" Phantom screeched. "Mission gone wrong!"

"We'd love to stay and fight, but we gotta go!" Wrath shrieked. "BYE!"

And the three Hybrids turned around on their heels and ran away in fear, back to whatever brought them to the forest from Zeta Point as the battlefield disappeared.

Once they were far away the D-Team's Dinosaurs roared in victory as the Dakotaraptor smiled.

[Well done.] The Dakotaraptor praised. [You all belong with one another, and with the human friends in Sanjo City.] The D-Team's Dinosaurs then looked at him. [And also don't forget that they've also given up a part of their freedom to help take care of you, because they love and care about you.]

"Guys he's right!" Sammy said. "We've gotta get back to the D-Lab!"

"Torow will be worried, when he finds out I'm gone." Sally said.

"You're right Sally, Speedy will be worried if she finds out I'm missing." Sorow said.

"And not just them, but Alma will be worried when she finds out I'm gone." Blue Brow said. "They'll all be worried about us."

"Come back to Sanjo City with us, Dakotaraptor." Sammy said, to the Raptor. "We can't leave you here alone up in the mountains all by yourself."

[What makes you think I'm alone and all by myself?] The Dakotaraptor asked, before screeching loudly.

Then the sounds of loud squawks filled the air as out from the forest came a group of eight Garudimimuses, with the same white and grey feathers as the Dakotaraptor, but with black legs and faces.

[This is my group, my society.] The Dakotaraptor said. [The mountains are our home, but we'll take you on your offer.] The Garudimimuses then gathered around the Dakotaraptor. [Lead the way my Sanjo City friends.]

"Come on everyone." Sammy said. "Let's all go home."

All the Dinosaurs agreed and they headed out into the night back to Sanjo City.

DK

The next morning Will, Bailey, Chase, Amber, Jasmine, Madison, Sarah, Alma, Molly, Chloe, Zoey and Nani all went to the D-Lab to find their friends, but when they discovered they weren't there they called Rhysa to come and help them find them.

"They're not in the field." Bailey said.

"Where could they have gone?" Molly asked.

"They've got to be around here somewhere." Rhysa said.

"I hope so." Will said. "Because if Rex finds out we lost 12 of his subjects we're never gonna be trusted with the Dinosaurs again."

Then the sound of snorting was heard and footsteps approaching them from the direction of the fence. Everyone turned to the source of the noise and there jumping the fences, came the twelve Dinosaurs that had returned from their night time adventure, covered in burs and twigs.

"They're back!" Jesse said.

"Hey guys!" The Dinosaurs greeted, as they came over to their human friends.

"Oh Blue Brow!" Alma cried, hugging the Edmontosaurus.

"I missed you Martha!" Sarah said, hugging the Ithchyovenator.

"I sure hope this running away thing isn't getting to be a habit guys." Rhysa said.

"Sorry about that, Rhysa." Sorow said. "But we had somewhere we needed to be."

"Just look at your frill." Chloe said, to Sammy. "It's covered in burs and twigs. It'll take me forever to clean those out." Chloe then hugged the Diceratops. "But I really don't mind, I'm just so glad to have you back Sammy."

"And I really missed you too, Chloe." Sammy said.

"Sorry for all the trouble and attitude we had the past two days." Laurna said. "We were just angry about what Jim said, that we know now isn't true."

"Apology accepted." Bailey said.

"I think you guys could all use a good cleaning, and a nice breakfast." Amber said.

"I like the sound of that!" Rock Slab said, nuzzling his friend.

"We've also got some new friends we'd like to introduce you all to." Sally said.

"New friends?" Rhysa asked. "Where are they?"

Her answer came when the Dakotaraptor and the eight Garudimimuses jumped over the fence and showed themselves to the blondette.

"A Dakotaraptor and eight Garudimimuses!" Rhysa identified.

Now that the Dakotaraptor was in the D-Lab and by the stones he could finally talk properly.

"Well hello young one." The Dakotaraptor greeted. "You must be one of the D-Team members the others told me about."

"Indeed I am." Rhysa said. "And you must be the Dakotaraptor that gave Sammy a bit of a scare two nights ago."

"Yup, Old White here scared me good." Sammy laughed.

"Old White?" The Dakotaraptor asked.

"Well, you're not a D-Team Dinosaur unless you have a name." Crown said. "And the name sort of suits you."

Old White just gave a chuckle.

"Now how about we get some breakfast?" Sweet Teeth asked. "'Cause I'm starving!"

So Rhysa, the high school students, the Dinosaurs and the new herd members went to go and join the rest of the Herd for breakfast and then be cleaned up.

Sofia and Spartacus watched from the other side of the street, as the twelve Dinosaurs were much more calmer being with each other now.

"Oh, I'm sure glad that everyone's back home." Sofia said. "I am, I really am."

"So am I sis, so am I." Spartacus said.

Later as Old White was telling the rest of the Herd about the First Dinosaurs at the D-Lab, Terry, Spiny and Tank in full-sized form were talking outside with Spartacus, Sofia and Jim being present as well.

"Sammy and the others learnt something very important that night." Terry said. "They learnt something about living together and getting along."

"And they learnt from Old White about the story of the very First Dinosaurs, and who we gained the ability to talk." Tank added.

"Yup, and now he, along with Scarlet, Button, Calipso, Pepper, Chilli, Aztec, Jimber and Sunburst are in our Herd." Spiny said.

"I guess that's all right for you social Animals, but I'm a solitary human." Jim said. "I like to be on my own."

"Then how come you try and flirt with any girl that passes your house at night?" Sofia asked.

"Um, well, because they're cute." Jim said, trying and also failing to hide his blushing face.

"And maybe, because you might like their company, in bed with you?" Spiny asked teasingly.

"Hmph! The idea!" Jim said, getting on his feet and leaving.

"That's okay Jim." Spartacus said, smirking as best he could. "You don't need to say it, we know."

After story time was over, everyone gave Old White, along with Scarlet, Button, Calipso, Pepper, Chilli, Aztec, Jimber and Sunburst a warm welcome into the Herd.

Rhysa then pulled out her camera and started recording everyone welcoming Old White, Scarlet, Button, Calipso, Pepper, Chilli, Aztec, Jimber and Sunburst into the Herd.

"Now that Old White the Dakotaraptor along with Scarlet, Button, Calipso, Pepper, Chilli, Aztec, Jimber and Sunburst the Garudimimuses have joined us. Our Herd's now reached a total of 144 Dinosaurs. Isn't that really awesome?"

Next time on Dinosaur King:

Spinoberg: Whichever Dinosaur shows the best talent will appear in my new movie! Show me what you got!

Dancer: 'Clears throat' AnD iIiIiIiIiI wIlL aLwAyS lOvE yOu!

(Spinoberg and employee, look messed up, stare at Dancer from his horrific singing)

Dancer: Was that too much?

A/N: Okay I know, that there weren't any Dinosaurs during the Permian Period, but it was the only way I could think to introduce how the Dinosaurs developed the ability to speak.

This chapter's based off of an episode from a TV show called Horseland, which is the show where I got the names for the high school students as well as the names for the Garudimimuses from.

And Drew, I don't care about the negative stuff you say about my chapters anymore, if you've got a problem with how I write things in my original chapters, then you can just stop reading my story and focus on yours.

Also time to reveal the Dinosaurs for the Water Guardians chapter that's coming up after the next one.

And these Dinosaurs are a Cristatusaurus (Male), an Oxalaia (Female), a Prosaurolophus (Male), a Stephanosaurus (Female), an Agustinia (Male), a Chuandongocoelurus (Male), a Titanoceratops (Female) and a pair of Thecodontosauruses (Twin Sisters).

The Cristatusaurus and Oxolaia are going to be the Water Guardians and the identity of the third one will be revealed somewhere later down the line. But like before please come up with names for the Dinosaurs as well as some original Move Cards two for the two Spinosaurids to use in battle.

All right with that out of the way I'll see you all next time. Bye!
