Owl House Season 1 Episode 16 – Enchanting Grom Night Part 2
Later on, at night, in Hexisde gym Grom is about to begin. The Snaggleback is still hung above, trying not to puke.
Snaggleback: Arms so tired.
Rockabilly-style music is playing in the background, and everyone is wearing fancy outfits for this special occasion. Couples awkwardly dance on the dance floor as creatures in the shape of instruments play themselves. Edric and Emira talk together.
Willow's index fingertips light and she dons corsages onto some guests. Skara and her date pass by.
Eda waits nervously to the side with her arms crossed, worried about Luke. She looks at her watch, which has King as the arms.
King: Why so twitchy, witchy? Trying to remember if I've ever seen you this nervous before.
Eda: Well, of course I'm worried! I'm going to have to watch Luke face a nightmare monster! Ugh! So much for Mama's fun night out.
King: Yeah. I overheard Luke telling his friends that story about his past. I had no idea he had such a traumatic past. Or that he was adopted.
Eda: Neither did I kiddo.
King: Is Luke gonna be alright?
Eda: I'm not sure. I hope so. For now, we're just gonna have to put our faith in him.
The lights dim and Gus' voice blares out around the gym.
Gus: Ladies, gentlemen, and assorted demons!
Gus is on the stage, in the spotlight, speaking into a microphone.
Gus: It's almost time for our main Grom event. Please, please, take a seat, and be aware that the first three rows are designated splash zones.
One guest is sitting in the first row, wearing a raincoat and opening an umbrella.
The students cheer as Eda and King sit towards the back, watching Gus win over the crowd.
King: Wow, Gus is really good at this. They're hanging on his every word!
Gus dances around, encouraging the crowd and making them love him even more.
Gus: I see we've got Principal Bump in the house! Now, sir, I hope you won't throw us in detention because, uh, we're going to raise the roof.
The spotlight goes onto Principal Bump, who is sitting in the bleachers. He makes a raising-the-roof motion with his hands and smiles. The students cheer.
King: Whoo, I, uh…hope my material's up to snuff.
He slips and drops his card, falling into a sitting position. A whoopie cushion goes off which he tosses away.
King: What do you think will go better with the youths, close-up magic or impressions?
Eda grabs King by the collar and holds him up.
Eda: Oh, King. Teenagers are brutal. They'll boo anyone, and that kind of public humiliation can stick with you for life.
King yelps in fear, Eda having just made his anxiety even worse.
Amity (wearing a party dress) steps out of the gym and looks around, then down at her note from this morning. She gently smooths it out with her thumb.
To say Luke had changed her life would be an understatement. Luke has significantly impacted the people around him in less than two months and generally improved their lives. Amity being one of those people. She wasn't proud of the person she used to be, but Luke helped change her into a better person. The same person that used to be friends with Willow. The girl that would read to kids and was loved by them. He makes her want to be a better woman. Someone he would be proud to fall in love with. It's no mystery anymore at this point that Amity has a crush on Luke.
Speak of the devil, Luke enters and she quickly pockets the note. To her surprise Luke is wearing a proper, formal outfit like all the other boys, not a ninja or hedgehog outfit like he intended.
Luke is wearing a black tuxedo, black dress shoes, dark blue shirt underneath, a blue untied bowtie and a black fedora with a blue hat band.
Luke: Luke tips his fedora. So, be honest. How do I look?
Amity: Amity blushes as she walks. You look…really handsome.
Luke: Luke blushes too. I am?
Amity: Yeah. That outfit looks good on you.
Luke: Thanks. Luke gets a good look at Amity in her dress. You look…really beautiful in that dress.
Amity: Amity sheepishly rubs the back of her hair. Oh, thank you.
Luke: Luke stretches his untied bowtie. I just wish I could tie this stupid bowtie, right. I was never really good with this sort of thing.
Amity: Amity grabs both ends of the bowtie. Here, I'll help with that. Amity begins tying the bowtie. When I was little, I used to do this for Edric all the time whenever we went to parties like this. Luke can't help but blush as Amity ties his bow tie. She finishes up with a smile. There we go. All done.
Luke's outfit is now complete with a blue bowtie much to his satisfaction as he tugs it a little.
Luke: Hey, this looks great. Thanks, Ams.
Amity: Don't mention it. She puts her hands on Luke's shoulders. And thank you, Luke. I'm…sorry again for not doing this with you.
Luke: Hey, like I said, don't worry about it. I can handle Grom on my own.
Amity: I get that facing the past won't be easy for you. If…you ever need anyone to talk to about it…I'm here.
Luke: Thanks, Ams. Maybe I will.
Amity: It takes a lot of courage to face your fears. Something I doubt I'll ever have. Honestly, I'm kind of amazed with how brave you are. You've done things I could never do.
Luke: Ha! Yeah right! You're not going soft on me, are you, Blight?
Amity: Amity laughs. In your dreams, Gogglehead.
Gus speaks out, it's showtime.
Gus: Now, introducing our Grom King. You know him, you love him, you've probably seen him swing a sword or throw a punch! The bold, wise-cracking, ultimate human witch-warrior! Luke the Human!
The students cheer as the spotlight goes on Luke, crossing his arms with confident grin, rubbing his nose with his finger. The loudest cheers come from Willow, King, Edric, Emira, Viney, Jerbo and Barcus.
Willow: Go Luke!
Viney: You're the best Luke!
Edric: We're rooting for you, pal!
Jerbo: Kick Grom's butt, man!
Emira: Go get 'em, Luke!
Barcus: Woof! Woof! Woof!
Boscha is sat with Cat, Amelia and more crowds of student who are all rooting for Luke except for her. She has her arms crossed, gruffly looking away from Luke as he receives the support of the crowd, wanting nothing more than to see Luke suffer.
Boscha: A human…Grom King. Yeah, right. I don't care if Grom gets free. I hope it eats that human alive.
Luke looks to Amity, giving the thumbs up.
Luke: Wish me luck!
He walks off, preparing to make his debut and Amity watches, concerned.
Amity: Luck.
The pedestal with the red button skitters onto the stage. Gus presses it and the floor opens to reveal the Grom arena.
Skara and her date, about to lean in for a kiss, rip off their formal clothing to reveal their Grom jerseys.
Date: LUKE!
Skara: YES, LUKE!
The weapon racks rise up on both sides of Luke.
Luke: Got a weapon. I'm good.
Luke brought out Rebellion, holding it to his side and igniting the blade via a blue electrical light surge.
Luke: Let's get this party started.
Luke rests his sword on his shoulder, walking down the stairs and entering the arena. He takes a walk through the cell.
Luke: Alright Mr so-called Nightmare Monster. Show yourself.
Luke hears a noise and turns to see black sludge emerging and rising, looming above Luke but he remains poised and confident as he faces the monster. He paces left and right, grinning a little.
Luke: Huh. So, you're Grom, huh? You know from what everyone keeps telling me about you, I expected something a little scarier, not a pile of sludge. Grom's movement becomes more frantic, like he's insulted by Luke's words. They say you turn into people's worst nightmares. Well, guess what Mr Nightmare Monster. You're about to face YOUR worst nightmare. Luke stops walking and thumbs himself with a grin. Me. Luke Noceda. The future Ultimate Witch-Warrior.
Gus: And there he goes, folks! Luke opening this battle with some trash-talk combined with his nonchalant, wisecracking attitude to get into the fighting mood!
Grom gives off some kind of distorted growl at Luke who merely returns with a smirk.
Luke: I'll take that growl as you saying "I'm going to kill you."
Grom transforms into a large Claymation character resembling large snakes, tigers, disfigured monsters with scythes and blades all growling and surrounding Luke who remains confident as he rests his sword on his shoulder.
Luke: So, we're starting out with old childhood fears after all. Fair enough. A little warm up before we get to the main event.
Luke swung his sword down, walking towards a group of Claymation. A snake lunges right at him for an attack but he's more than ready as the Electric Glyph glows and his sword flares up with blue electricity, becoming coated in it.
Luke: This party's getting crazy. So…LET'S ROCK!
Sonic the Hedgehog – Crisis City (Ends at 4:56)
Luke swung his electrified sword, slicing the snake in half. 3 more clay snakes and 2 tigers lunge at Luke, he slices the snakes with 3 electric swings then follows up with a twist move overhead to cut & shock the tigers before slicing one in half then stabbing one in its belly with a high-speed lunge attack.
He summons a Glyph Guns and shoots down 3 snakes that leapt at him from above. More clay snakes lunge at Luke but he was ready.
Luke: Hiss at this!
Luke thrusts his sword in a high-rev spin attack, shredding the snakes to pieces while releasing flames.
Luke: Woo-hoo! Ha-ha!
A group of 4 disfigured monsters lunge from behind with their scythes but Luke turns to launch an overhead upper slash.
Luke: Blast off!
With an explosive electric surge, Luke launches himself and the monsters into the air, following it up with 4 aerial slashes, then an electric spin attack that elevates him above the damaged monsters.
Luke: Begone!
He finishes with a helm breaking downward slash, landing on one knee as the monsters fell nearby, cut to pieces.
The students roar with cheers, applauding Luke's courage and skills.
Gus: And there he goes, using that characteristic human magic combined with his amazing anti-magic sword, the Rebellion and some epic swordsmanship to keep Grom at bay!
Willow, Edric, Emira, Viney, Jerbo and Barcus are cheering the loudest from the stands along with other students.
Willow: Way to go, Luke!
Emira: You're off to a great start!
Edric: Keep it up!
Amity clutches her chest, blushing madly at the sight of her love interests tearing it up in the battlefield.
Amity: Oh, wow…he is so cool.
Luke then looks up, finding himself surrounded by more scythes and tiger Claymation. He got up resting his sword on his shoulder with an excited grin.
Luke: Want some more, huh? Fine. Let's mix things up.
Luke swung his sword to his side. The Light Glyph glows and Rebellion switches to Light Mode, becoming coated in a blade of light, glowing with beautiful energy. With a battle cry he charges the Claymation, swinging his sword around and cutting down incoming monsters that fail to land a hit on him. More Scythes lunge from behind and pile on his with tigers. But Luke blows them all away with one slash of light.
Luke: You cheap knockoffs don't scare me anymore!
The Water Glyph then glows on Rebellion, switching it to Water Mode. With one upper swing, he sends out geysers of water erupting and sending some Claymation flying into the air. He charges more of them emerging from the ground, Rebellion swirling and veiling him in a jet of water as he held his sword in thrust position before blasting off slicing and bouncing off some tigers and soars into the air where the water veils disappears, and he bounces off the 5 scythes he sent flying into the air. He flips up the top and does an axe-kick on the Scythe sending it crashing into the others to the ground where it becomes a pile of clay.
Luke dives down with Rebellion by his side, the Ice Glyph glowing and switching the sword to Ice Mode, the water freezing as the sword changes shape again. He stabs his blade into the ground, causing icicles to erupt and impale the other Claymation surrounding him. Unfortunately, more Claymation of Scythes and tigers emerge around him.
The icicles melt for some of the Claymation still alive to fall down. Luke bangs his sword against the ground, the Fire Glyph glowing, causing the blade of ice to melt back to regular Rebellion which is glowing red as it heats up. Luke shouts as he swung his sword into a falling tiger, slamming it into the Claymation. Rebellion soon fully switches to Fire Mode. Luke slices through the Claymation and slides around, slicing through some more scythes and tigers, coming to a stylish stop as they fall apart.
Luke parries a scythe before slicing it and a another. He does another high-speed lunge, stabbing a third while sending out flames that burn some tigers. He slices his sword up and cuts down a tiger behind him in half, placing sword on his shoulder. Another scythe lunges at him from behind only for Luke to flip up. He stomps and impales his back, bringing out a Fire Glyph which he activates and held out back. It releases a burst of flames that sends Luke rocketing and riding around the arena in a circle.
Luke: YEE-HAW!
Luke crashes into a bunch of Claymation and when the remain few tigers and scythes were in sight he grins. He removes his sword and unleashes a fiery slash while launching himself off the scythe, sending it crashing into the remain Claymation and they crash into the wall where they fell apart. Luke hands on the floor, his sword rested on his shoulder again as he got up, looking around in satisfaction.
Luke: Man, I am just too good.
Gus: Using the 5 Glyph spells he's learned combined with his sword Luke has already decimated those animated clay characters. He gasps. But, wait! Look! Grom's not giving up. It's already reforming.
…
The piles of clay become black sludge which converge together, towering over Luke and forming into a large Claymation triclops that releases a vicious roar.
Luke: A triclops and Claymation combo. Luke scoffs. You don't frighten me. You're about as scary as a certain cotton candy triclops I know. And she's not even a monster.
Boscha growls from the stands, turning red, knowing Luke was referring to her.
Boscha: I want that human to SUFFER!
Devil May Cry 4 - Blackened Angel (Dante Battle 1)
The Triclops swings at Luke with a fist and he quickly rolls away. It's 3rd eye glows and releases a laser beam at Luke who swung his sword, stopping the beam and the deflecting it, sending it flying out the arena where it hits a part of the gym ceiling. Some rubbles falls towards Boscha and she squirms out of the way with a scream, then angrily waves her fist at Luke.
Boscha: Hey! Watch it you jerk! You nearly killed me!
Luke: Luke smirks at Boscha. What a tragedy that would've been.
The Triclops tries to crush Luke with both fists and this time the human boy held up his sword and blocks, stopping the triclops and holding it back with all his strength. He manages to roll out of the way, just as the fists hit the ground then jumps on, holding onto its wrist as the Triclops brought up its arm, looking for Luke, too late to see the human boy running across its arm and leaping towards its third eyes, his electrified sword in thrust position.
Luke: DIE!
Luke stabs the clay monster's third eye, causing it to roar in sheer agony.
Gus: OOH! Right in the eye!
The clay triclops swung its face around, eventually shaking Luke off and he lands on his feet on the floor, his sword stuck in the triclop's eye but he remains confident.
Luke: Not much of a triclops now, are ya, pal? Though, I'm surprised you're still standing after that.
The triclops regains its composure and roars in rage at Luke who merely brought out his newly discovered Plant Glyph drawn on paper.
Luke: Let's see what this bad boy can do. This…is in honour of my sister-in-arms, Willow Park!
Luke leapt up and smacks the Plant Glyph into the ground, the glyph glows green and a swarm of vines erupt from the floor, spreading and restraining the triclops wrists, causing it to struggle wildly.
Luke: Cool!
Luke summons his Glyph Guns, giving them a twirl before crossing them and taking aim. As soon as he thinks about the Plant Glyph it appears on both jewels, causing them to glow green. Luke fires, sending out spheres made of vines. Upon close proximity, the spheres explode into vines and roots that ensnare the triclops legs and body, causing it to fall on its knees as it struggles to escape more.
Luke: Plant bombs! Awesome!
Luke fires 3 more plant bombs and they explode, tying up the Triclops in vines.
The students all erupt with cheers for Luke and Willow sniffs, wiping a tear from her eye as Viney and Emira pat her shoulder.
Willow: Aww! I am so touched and proud right now!
Luke a grapple claw, yanking Rebellion out of the Triclop's eye. He leapt up, dismissing his guns to catch his sword, landing on the floor with a flip and busting out another Plant Glyph.
Luke: Hey there pal! Meet your new friend, the Plant Glyph.
Luke attaches the Plant Glyph to Rebellion; the glyph turns into a green orb of light that's absorbed into the sword.
The Plant Glyph itself appears near the tip of Rebellion where it glows green. The Rebellion is now covered in 6 Glyphs from bottom to top: Electric, Light, Ice, Fire, Water and Plant.
The Plant Glyph causes the Rebellion to turn green, becoming encased in green solid vines.
The triclops was powerless as Luke had charged forward and leapt up to slice it's chest, causing it roar out in pain from the green gash that formed on it. Luke bounces off its vine restraints, reeling his sword back and unleashing 4 massive vines that smash into the triclops, sending it flying up the gym. It roars as it fell back down.
When Luke lands, he held his sword in backhanded position, gathering green energy and with one swing releases a green energy blade, cutting into the clay monster and it explodes, turning into nothing but blue flower petals that rain down from above. Rebellion reverts to normal, and Luke rests his sword on his shoulder again with a grin.
Luke: I hate Claymation.
The crowd erupt with more cheers, feeling like they're in good hands.
Gus: Luke's off to a rocking start! He's totally owning Grom like a pro! And now, to hand things over to my co-emcee: King!
(Music Pause)
The students cheer. King walks onto the stage.
King: Hel-LO, Hexside! So...
He drops his cards, and the microphone feedback screeches. He tugs at his collar, already feeling his nerves taking over. He feels dozens of teenage eyes on him.
King: Oh, oh gosh. Um... whoo. Wow, these lights are warm. Observe! Luke, is um... he's down there, all right. And…uh, yes, he is! There he goes! Folks, he's battling the thing, and uh...
Annoyed with King's inability to provide commentary the crowd of teenagers begins booing at him.
Guest: Bring back the funny kid!
King: You will clap for me! Please?
King's confidence has been all but overtaken by the teenage crowd. Humiliated, he throws down the microphone and runs offstage, wailing. Gus immediately runs after him.
Gus: King!
(Music continue)
Back in the arena, Grom takes the form of the online jerks and Luke aims with his combined Glyph Guns, the Ice Glyph activated.
Luke: Debating you morons is pointless!
The gun charges with icy energy inside and when Luke pulls the trigger, it releases an ice beam, freezing the phone solid. It drops down and explodes.
The students cheer, few of them exclaiming that they love Luke. Eda proudly watches her student battle, impressed with how he's doing, feeling stupid for doubting him.
Luke splits his guns, looking around for his next victim.
Luke: Who's next!? Come on! Let's rock and roll! You're my victim now Grom!
Grom takes the form of Kayako, Luke's greatest movie fear much to his disgust.
Luke: Buh. The freaks are out to play now.
She gets on her legs and begins crawling towards him like a spider, giving off her creepy croaking roar. She gets in Luke's face, looking like she's about to strangle him with her hair only to be met with a gun to her face. The Light Glyph in the jewel activates and light energy gathers in the gun as Luke glares at his most hated movie ghost.
Luke: Rest in peace.
He shoots Kayako right in the head and the illusion disappears. He dismisses his gun and switches Rebellion to Light Mode as Bagul and Michelle Crane, all stalking towards him. Luke fearlessly charges the ghosts with a battle cry. Bagul teleports and he attempts to grab Luke, but he flips above and aims the tip of his sword at the ghost man, blasting him with a beam of light that engulfs and vaporizes him.
Luke: You won't be sucking on my innocence today, Boogyman!
Michelle roars, grabbing Luke by his collar and lifting him up with the desire to strangle him. She has a sadistic grin.
Michelle: Little girls must behave.
She gasps when she feels Luke place a gun on her head.
Luke: Go to hell.
He shoots Michelle and she drops down groaning in pain. Luke lands on the ground, stood up and aims at her again.
Luke: Too bad for you, I'm a boy. And boys like me aren't afraid to shoot a bitch like you.
And with one last shot the Michelle illusion is killed and disappears.
The crowd burst with joy, cheering and chanting Luke's name.
Amity covers her mouth, trying to hide her fawning over her crush's fighting prowess and how cool he looks doings it.
Eda can't help but be proud of how well her student's doing.
Eda: Not bad, kiddo. Maybe I was wrong to doubt you, after all.
Principal Bump has taken over for Gus, speaking through the mic.
Principal Bump: Luke is performing outstandingly so far! But what form will Grom take next?
…
Luke raises his sword and fist in the air.
Luke: Whoo! I am fired UP! Come on! Let's keep this party going!
Grom rises behind Luke, towering over him. Luke got in his signature battle stance, ready to defend himself.
Luke: Hey, Gromarama! Is that the best you can throw at me!?
An illusion of cursed Eda with glowing eyes forms and creeps towards him.
Back in the stands, some kids look at Eda when they recognise Grom is in her shape. Eda groans and hides behind her hair in embarrassment.
Luke: Eda? Please! I mean, sure, Owl Beast Eda is a little freaky but she's not that scary!
Eda: Hey! I am too that scary!
Grom changes form, becoming a sludge version of Camilla, eyes still glowing blue.
Luke: My mom? Really? Why would I be scared of her? I mean, sure, I'm a little worried how she'll react when I tell her where I've been but I'm not afraid to tell her the truth!
Grom changes again, this time forming into Boscha which really bemused Luke.
Luke: Seriously? Out of all your attempts, this has got to be the most pathetic. Boscha is about as frightening as a newborn kitten!
Boscha: I'm right here!
Luke: How about you cut the crap already! I know you're saving the worst for last so let's get it on! I'm ready!
Taking Luke's challenge, Grom sends out tentacles and they surprise Luke by attaching to his forehead, his eyes glowing blue as the monster reads his mind. Everyone is shocked and Willow, Emira and Edric become worried.
Jerbo: What's happening!?
Emira: It's reading Luke's mind!
Edric: This is it…
Eda's face drops, knowing what's about to come, praying for her student's safety.
Eda: Kid. I hope you're ready for this.
Amity becomes equally anxious, clutching her hands together.
Amity: Luke…I believe in you.
Luke gasps for air when Grom retracts its tentacles, moving wildly until it morphs, changing into a frightening humanoid form from Luke's past. Grom turns into a man…the mugger from Luke's past…the monster who shot Camila. Grom's eyes glow blue as he gives a sinister smile.
Grom: Hello…kid.
Luke widens his eyes, his blood running cold. He knew it was coming…he knows this isn't real…but the sight of this man…this heartless man who almost took everything from him causes the human boy to see traumatic flashes of making eye contact with the mugger and Camila laid on the ground in a pool of blood.
Luke: You…
While that goes on, in the hallway, Gus walks over to King, who is sitting in front of the lockers, looking absolutely dejected. He sits next to him.
Gus: What's going on, little dude?
King: Nothing! Leave me be!
Gus: King lays on his side. The thing is, you're sitting in my personal chit-chat zone, which means you gotta talk.
King: Well, if that's the rule... Oh, how can this be? I get stage fright! Me! The King of Demons!
Gus: Well, sometimes, you just have to—
King: I know, I know. Imagine everyone in their underwear.
Gus: This disgusted Gus. Gross! Why would you do that?
King: I dunno. I always do that. He chuckles. I am a little weirdo.
Gus: No, King. Sometimes you just have to face your fear, like Luke is doing right now.
King: Speaking of Luke…I wonder how he's doing right now.
Gus: Why don't we go see. Watching him kick butt might cheer you up.
King: King shrugs. Meh. Why not.
Gus picks King up and walks back into the gym. The two stop, surprised to see the looks of panic confusion on everyone's faces.
King: What's with the silence? Shouldn't they be cheering for Luke?
Gus ran back to the stage next to Principal Bump.
Xenoblade Chronicles OST - An Obstacle in Our Path
He and King gasp in horror when they see Luke faced with Grom in its humanoid form.
Bump: After looking into Luke's mind, Grom has assumed some kind of ragged human form! But why? Why would our Grom King be afraid of a mere human man? A figure from his past?
Eda, Willow, Gus, King, Edric, Emira and Amity watch with grim looks. They know the answer to everyone's question about Grom's current form and could only hope Luke really has what it takes to face his fears. The only one who was getting enjoyment out of this was Boscha who noticed the fear in Luke's eyes.
Boscha: That's his biggest fear? Another human? Wow. And he called me pathetic.
Luke himself has his sword held in a middle stance, but he's not as confident as he normally would. His hands shake as he clutches Rebellion. He tries to clutch tighter to stop the shaking but in the face of hist traumatic past it doesn't work. His hands continue to shake violently.
Luke: "Come on…I can do this! I'm not afraid!"
Steeling his nerves, Luke charges with a loud battle cry. Gus quickly snatches the mic back from Bump.
Gus: And Luke's making the first move people! Does he have what it takes to conquer his fears!?
Luke lunges at Grom with a slash only for the monster to hold out his arm which turns into black sludge, blocking the sword and stopping Luke. The human boy pushes but is unable to break through, it's like trying to push against metal even though Grom's just made of sludge. Luke watches as the Grom fully morphs into black sludge while maintaining the form of the mugger. The Fear Bringer's arm bubbles and explodes. Luke is sent flying and screaming, crashing onto the floor hard, his outfit covered in patches of sludge.
Amity: Luke!
Grom uses sludge to rise a little. His arm forms into a large hammer which he tries to crush Luke with and he quickly rolls away. The human boys kicks himself back up as Grom forms both arms into 10 tendrils, launching them at Luke who charges. He slices through 5 of them slides beneath the others before leaping to deliver an electric slash with his sword only for Grom to summon black sludge that blocks Luke's sword, the force of which sends him recoiling. When the sludge disappears and Luke lands he sees Grom…a sadistic and creepy smile forming on its face as it spoke, mimicking the mugger perfectly.
Grom: Hey, kid. Give me your amulet.
Luke gasps, close to hyperventilating as it feels an icy dagger has impaled his heart upon hearing those words.
(Flashback)
Young Luke shakes his head in fear, causing the mugger to shoot.
He remembers Camila protecting him and taking the bullet for him.

Refusing to experience that ever again, Luke screams in rage and rushes at Grom. He unleashes an onslaught of wild slashes that Grom easily handles, easily dodging the first 3, deflects a thrust then blocks Luke's next set of slashes. His anger and fear taking over, Luke's attacks have become a little wild, his hatred towards the mugger clouding his judgement.
The crowd of students who were once filled with joy and hope are slowly becoming afraid for Luke upon seeing his struggle against Grom.
Viney, Jerbo and Barcus are confused seeing Luke's fighting style looking a little sloppy.
Viney: Something's not right. Luke's attacks are looking wild and unfocused out there.
Jerbo: Yeah, he's not being usual confident self! He was just taunting Grom minutes ago!
Barcus: Woof! Woof! Woof! (His aura is filled with fear and trauma!)
Willow, Edric and Emira exchange grim glances, knowing the reason behind Luke's erratic fighting.
Emira: His fear's getting the best of him!
Edric: If he doesn't calm down, he's toast!
Willow: Come on, Luke! You've gotta face your fears!
Eda watches her student struggling, anxious and genuinely afraid for him.
Eda: Come on, kiddo. If humans are as strong as you've told, now's the time to prove it…not just to me…but to everyone.
Amity continues to watch, worried and anxious for her crush.
Amity: Luke. You can do it. I know you can. Don't let your fear control you.
Gus continues narrating the fight through the mic.
Gus: Luke's not fighting as confidently as he was before but he's managing to hold his own against Grom! Can he get his groove back before it's too late!?
King: Gus…Luke's going to be alright…right?
Gus' face drops, unsure how to respond to that.
Gus: I don't know buddy. All we can do is just have faith in Luke.
Luke continues pounding away at Grom with electric slashes, electricity surging out of the cell only to achieve nothing.
Luke: You're not going to ruin my life ever again you sick bastard! I won't let you hurt my mom again!
Luke launches a stronger slash only for Grom to catch the sword his hand, Luke struggling to remove Rebellion from his grip. Grom reaches into Luke's shirt, tugging and revealing his amulet.
Grom: Give me your amulet.
Luke: Touching his amulet set Luke off. Don't…ever…touch…my amulet…AGAIN!
Luke yanks Rebellion out of Grom's grip and slices across its chest before delivering a kick to launch himself backwards high into the air. With a scream he switches Rebellion out for his Glyph Guns and fires a barrage of laser bullets that engulf Grom but to everyone's shock they all miss. Grom just stood there doing nothing.
Boscha bursts into laughter at the sight of this, causing some students to glare at her.
Boscha: What is he aiming at!?
Grom stretches and launches its arm at Luke, ensnaring him in its large hand. Most of his body up to his mouth is wrapped in goo, muffling his shouts as he loses his gun. Grom brought Luke up and smashes into the floor. Luke is pinned onto the floor, his mouth free but violently struggles to escape until Grom yanks him off the ground and swung him around. Luke cries out in pain as he's tossed and sent crashing into the wall where he loses his fedora. Luke drops down on his chest with a loud grunt.
The crowd gasps in horror, especially Luke's friends…except for Boscha who bolts up in joy.
Boscha: Yes!
The students near her give another glare. She does realize if Luke loses Grom will break free and everyone will suffer their worst nightmares, right?
Amity drops to her knees, clutching the edge of the hatch in horror.
Amity: Luke!
Eda: Come on kid. Don't die on me!
An angered Luke got up, getting rid of some goo that was on him and swung out Rebellion, igniting the blade, furious and determined.
Luke: I'll get you!
Gus: Luke is back on his feet! But unless he makes a comeback against Grom we're all doomed!

Grom's eyes continue to glow in its humanoid mugger form as it stalks towards its prey. Luke pants furiously, his hand holding his sword shaking a little. He knows he isn't fighting like his usual self. He's noticed how sloppy his technique and aim was back there.
Luke: "What's wrong with me!? Why can't I concentrate!?"
Amity: Luke! Luke looks up to see Amity desperately calling him. Luke, you've gotta snap out of it! You can do this! I know you can!
Luke: Amity?!
Amity: Luke! I know deep down you're terrified out of your mind from having to face someone who emotionally scarred you for life! But, remember what you told me Luke. Don't let your fear control you! Don't let it own you!

Luke widens his eyes upon hearing his own words coming out of Amity's mouth as she gave a tender smile.
Amity: You can do it, Luke! You can defeat Grom! I believe in you! We all do!
Luke: Amity…
Willow: Amity's right! We believe in you, Luke!
Emira: You can do it!
Edric: You've got this man!
Viney: Go Luke!
Jerbo: Win, Luke! Win!

King: King speaks into the mic. Show everyone you're King!
Luke is touched by the support he's receiving from his friends.
Eda: Hey kid! Luke looks to Eda stood up with a smile. If humans really are as strong as you say they are, now's the time to really show it! It's up to you to defeat Grom! An opportunity to save the world doesn't come every day you know! Savour it!
And after that, everyone begins chanting Luke's names, voicing their support in him. Boscha is enraged and confused from having to watch this.
Boscha: Has everyone here gone insane!
Luke looks to Amity giving him a heartwarming smile, still on her knees. Luke blushes from watching her beautiful smile, gaining a warm feeling at the sight of it. He then looks back to Grom slowly approaching him as he takes a deep breath, clutching his sword and his chest, his shaking having calmed down.

Luke: "I can do this. I know I can do this! What happened that day…changed me. It was a miracle my mom survived and I recovered. Grom approaches Luke, its hands forming into tendrils once again, preparing to finish off his victim but he was too late as Luke fully regains his composure and the fire in his eyes. He swung down his sword and got into his fighting stance with it.
Grom: Give me you're-!

Grom is cut off in an instant when Luke lunges at high-speed, stabbing Rebellion right through it much to its and everyone's shock. He gives the Fear Bringer a determined glare.
Luke: I'M LUKE THE HUMAN!
The stabbing echoed through the gym, shocking everyone. When they finish processing, the crowd comes to life again as they cheer for Luke.
Gus: And it's Luke who makes the first move!
Luke's sword flares with electricity, the Electric Glyph glowing as he unleashes a blast of electricity that sends Grom flying back. When the Fear Bringer lands, he gives off a vicious growl and lunges at Luke, forming its arms into claws to slice him only for Luke to deflect with a swing. The human boy forces Grom on the defensive with a barrage of skilled and focuses swings. He launches two and delivers 3 aerial slashes that Grom barely deflects and dodges. Luke lunges at high-speed for a stinger attack that Grom blocks, then follows up with millions of high-speed stabs that Grom is having difficulty parrying. Luke finishes with a power electric stab.
Luke: Breakdown!
Luke stabs Grom right in the stomach, electrocuting it and making it roar in pain. Luke shoves a Glyph Gun right to the face with a grin, charging up electricity and with one shot Grom is sent flying once again.

Luke charges Grom, intent on cutting it to pieces. The monster got up and unleashes tentacles, prompting Luke to toss a Plant Glyph which he jumps on, activating. A huge vine sends Luke flying high up into the air. Grom sends out dozens of tentacles once more, converging together to impale Luke but the witch-warrior switches out Rebellion for his other Glyph Gun and dives down, spinning and firing laser bullets while cheering like a child.
Luke: Woo-ho-ho-hoo!
The bullets cut through the tentacles, allowing Luke to plough right through and tear them apart, causing Grom to recoil.
Amity blushes at sight of Luke's prowess once again.
Amity: He's the coolest…
Eda crosses her arms, proud of her student.
Eda: Now that's more like it!
Willow: Go Luke, go!
Edric: Yeah! Now we're talking!
Emira & Viney: Woo-hoo!
Jerbo: You've got him on the ropes.
Barcus howls in joy.
The rest of the students erupt with cheers and Boscha has her arms gruffly crossed, annoyed to see Luke winning again.
After blasting through the remainder of the tentacles Luke pushes his feet off the vine he created and straightens up, crossing his guns and firing more bullets that Grom is unable to block, roaring and recoiling in pain.

Grom retaliates by sending out larger tentacles that scatter and attack Luke an all sides. Luke ran down his vines and flipped over a tentacle then jumping off of a couple them and knocks one away with a powerful spin kick, bouncing off another tentacle and flipping in the air.

More tentacles engulf him and proceed to impale him only for Luke to spin around like a tornado with his sword while shooting laser bullets from a Glyph Gun. He then tosses Rebellion like a boomerang at Grom as it surges with electricity, cutting through the remaining tentacles.

Luke running down more vines shot one laser bullet and with perfect precision that bullet smashes into the handle, causing it to burst at high-speed straight towards Grom with blue flames coming from the tip and it stabs right into Grom who roars in pain and agony. Luke bounces off the vines one last time, flipping and diving towards Grom.
He grabs onto Rebellion, bounces off of Grom while yanking his sword out then lunges at the Fear Bringer then lunges at Fear Bringer, launching fast swings that Grom is barely parry with his arms, forced back and is caught off guard when Luke cuts him with an overhead twist move, allowing the witch-warrior to launch a barrage of high-speeds stabs that keep piercing it constantly then sticks his sword to the ground spinning around like hurricane to deliver a multitude of kicks in the face that makes Grom recoil.
Luke: Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo!
All the students continues cheering, Luke was fighting toe to toe with Grom as it took on his greatest fear.
Gus & King: IT'S A BLOWOUT!
Gus: Luke the Human is back in the game people! He's got Grom backed into a corner with a barrage of sword strikes! Grom can't find an opening!
The eye can see!
With Grom disorientated Luke delivers the final strike getting on his feet and electrifying Rebellion to deliver 2 swings surging with electricity.
Luke: A one! A two!

After a short charge up Luke delivers a stronger swing.
Luke: FINISH!
The electric surge was so strong Grom is sent flying and with a grin Luke does some spins with his sword.
Luke: Addios!
He held Rebellion backhanded, gathering electrical energy that makes it glow.
Luke: DRIVE!
Luke unleashes a blade of blue energy that smashes Grom into the wall and an electric explosion bursts out of the arena and lights the room, putting the crowd in awe.

The smoke in the arena clear to reveal Grom stuck against the wall then drop down, literally brought to its knees, growling in agony as it begins to lose form, slowly turning to mush. At the sight of this Amity is the first to cheer.
Amity: HE DID IT!
The rest of the students explode with cheers while Eda and Bump smile proudly. Luke stopped to breath as everyone cheered for him. He then walks up to the Fear Bringer pointing his sword right to the face with a victorious grin.
Luke: Thought you had my number, huh, pal? You were so into my fear you didn't realize I'm not a powerless 6-years old kid anymore? And, yeah, sure, I was terrified out of my mind that day. But even back then, I'm no quitter!
Amity, Willow, Gus, Edric, Emira, Viney, Jerbo, Barcus and all the other students erupt with cheers, including Eda for Luke's declaration of courage. Grom's form begins to collapse.
Luke: Do you hear that, Grom? Do you hear their cheers? It shows that they aren't afraid of you, that you're not something to be feared. You change into people fear to beat them and I think I know why. It's because you're afraid of being forgotten. Without fear, you're powerless. You're just a pile of sludge. You're NOTHING. That's YOUR worst nightmare!
This word echoed in the fear bringer's ears, making it gasp with wide eyes and making it something it had never felt before because of its primal nature. ANGRY. Luke becomes surprised when he sees Grom's entire body bubbling and enlarging, prompting him to jump back and get into a stance watching it transform.
Luke: What the hell!?
Grom's collapsing form becomes engulfed in its own sludge, enlarging and going out of control much to the horror of all the spectator, some gasping.
King: What's going on!?
Gus: Grom
Amity: Oh no! Luke! Watch out! Grom's transforming!
Luke watches as Grom towers above him while going under a grotesque transformation. Grom's body has become misshapen, it's sprouted 4 legs and a pair of arms and its face…if it can be called that is a huge head with sharp teethes. This Grom's true form.
Luke: Aww…crud.
The students gasp, horrified, even Boscha.
Amity: Oh…my…TITAN!
King: What has Grom become!?
Bump: Bump takes the mic. This is most unprecedented! Grom has unleashed its true form for the VERY first time!
Gus: This is Grom's true form!?
Eda: Eda is stood up, also horrified. Grom has never shown its true form before! Luke's insults must've made it angry enough to unleash! KID GET OUTTA THERE!
Luke: NEVER! Luke glares at Grom. You don't scare me! You're just uglier now! I don't care what form you've taken! I'll cut you to pieces until you're nothing but a pile of useless sludge!
As if in response to his sheer determination, Rebellion bursts with electricity and Luke leapt up with a battle cry, diving down to slice Grom but to his shock Grom blocks with one arm. Luke pushes with all his strength only for the monster to shove him off and send him recoiling back. It sends out two tentacles from its body. One that ensnares Luke by the neck, causing him to gasp for air and the other smacks Rebellion out of his hand. The blade collapses and falls clatters onto the floor as Grom ensnares Luke's waist. The human boy grunts and struggles to escape, but is unable to get out of Grom's grip.
Luke: Get your slimy tentacles off me!
Luke is silenced when Grom covers his mouth. Luke clutches Grom's mouth, still struggling to escape. And before he could bring out his Glyph Guns to escape…another tendril comes out of Grom's body…sharp one and it's launched. Luke widens his eyes in pain and shock when a sickening sound is heard.
Everyone (even Boscha) gasps in sheer horror at what they just witnessed, some turning away and most unable to. The ones who were most horrified were Amity, Willow, Gus, King, Eda and the rest of Luke's friends. Grom had stabbed its tendril right into Luke body. The human boy was choking in shock and pain, clutching Grom's tendrils hard as he struggles to process what just happened to him.
Eda: No…
Amity: LUUUUKKKE!
Luke is in serious agony right now but being the defiant teen he is, gives Grom the middle finger, causing the monster to roar in rage, stabbing Luke harder, causing him to give a muffled scream of anguish as he the tendril pierces through his body, sticking out his back and spill a large amount of blood that drips from Luke's front and back, inducing gasps of sheer horror and disgust from the crowd. Luke's eyes shake as he struggles with all his remaining strength to remove the tendril in vain as he muffles in agony, but it was too late. His vision starts to become hazy. The only thing he could make out was Amity watching her love interest die. He could only weakly reach out to her as far as he could…until his last bit of strength disappears. He goes limp, bloodied and bruised, his eyes white and lifeless. No one could tell if he was breathing or not. The worst could only be assumed.
Grom roared in victory as everyone began fearing, crumbling to tears as they cried over their champion.
Eda drops down in tears, blaming herself for not stepping in.
Eda: Kid…no!
King drops down on his knees, crying profusely.
King: LUKE!
Willow covered her mouth, holding back her sobs to see her best human friend was "dead."
Willow: Luke…
Emira buried her face into Edric, crying onto him as her brother hugged, watching Luke with a grim and horrified look.
Viney covers her face, crying onto it.
Viney: Luke…
She sobs loudly as Jerbo and Barcus hug her, also crying.
Skara and her date clutched hands in fear at what they just witnessed.
Bump was rather horrified himself at the sight.
Bump: It…can't be…
Boscha watched with a conflicted look. She wanted Luke to lose and get humiliated…but not like this. This…just didn't feel right to her.
Gus drops to his knees and drops the mic in the process.
Gus: I…I don't believe it but…Luke has fallen.
It all gets worse. With Luke defeated, Grom reels him in, opening its massive jaws and swallowing him whole and gulping him down. Everyone was petrified with trauma at the this horrifically disgusting action, the girls covering their eyes or burying their faces into the boys.
King: It…it…it…it…
Jerbo: It ate him!

Xenoblade Chronicles OST - A Tragic Decision
As everyone began crying and fearing as Grom made his way to the ramp, the one most torn up by this was Amity whose face was struck motionless. Tears ran down her face…her heart shatter. The boy she had grown to love had been killed and devoured right in front of her. And she did nothing to save him.
Amity: Luke...no…you…you can't be dead. She shakes her head in denial, her voice breaking. You just can't. You promised you'd win. I never even got to ask you…I…I…I…
Amity looks down, the tears dripping from her eyes as she sobs. The youngest Blight felt her heart breaking as she grits her teeth while turning her eyes to Grom, feeling such anger and hate as it made its way to ramp. She couldn't let this stand! SHE WOULDN'T LET THIS STAND! With a scream Amity leapt into the arena much, landing between Grom and the ramp with a look of pure rage.
The students gasp in disbelief (some still in tears), especially Edric, Emira, Willow and Eda.
Edric & Emira: Mittens!?
Willow: Amity!?
Gus: I don't believe this! Amity Blight, our Grom Queen, has stepped into the area!
Bump: It would appear that Amity is challenging Grom! This has never happened before!
Amity's hands shake a little in the face of the nightmare monster who lets out a roar but she manages to steel her nerves upon thinking about Luke, giving the Grom a look of pure hatred.
Amity: You killed MY LUKE! You took him away from me! FROM ALL OF US! GIVE HIM BACK! GIVE BACK MY LUKE!
Amity forms her Abomination Chakrams which she clutches before charging Grom with a scream. The monster unleashes 6 tendrils from its body that Amity cuts through with two swings before leaping high up. Grom unleashes more tendrils, prompting Amity to toss her chakrams, cutting through them and stabbing into Grom which makes it flinch. Amity dives down, attracting her chakrams into her arms and forming them into spiked gauntlets, punching Grom in the face with one of them, causing the monster to recoil and roar in pain.
Amity lands on the floor, forming two spell circles around her gloves, engulfing them in flames and lunges at Grom with a scream and tears gushing out her eyes as launches a furious barrage of fiery punches at the monster, putting all her strength into every punch and making the Fear Bringer stumble back despite its larger size.
Everyone watches Amity pound Grom, agape in disbelief and overcoming Luke's "death".
Gus: I…I don't know what I'm witnessing folks. Determined to avenge Luke, Amity is using Abomination and fire magic to pound Grom with fiery fists of fury!
Edric & Emira: Whoa…!
Willow: I've never seen Amity so angry before.
Edric: Whoa…I didn't think she had it in her.
King: Get it, Amity! Avenge Luke!
Everyone followed King's lead and began cheering for Amity, seeing her fighting Grom with all she had. When Grom becomes disorientated by enough punches Amity, reels a glove back and with a scream, delivers a fiery uppercut that causes Grom to fall on its back, causing the gym to shake a little. Amity relaxes her body, sweating and panting in exhaustion as she stares at the monster, beaten…or so she thought. To her shock Grom leaps back onto its feet and releases a roar of rage. It whips out a larger tentacle, smacking it into Amity's stomach before she could even react. She gasps for air and is sent screaming.
Grom sends out an arm, ensnaring Amity its grip and swinging her around. Amity screams as she gets smashed into the wall, hard enough to leave a small crater. Amity cries out when she's pressed against the wall harder then screams even more when Grom swung her around, smashing her into more walls and the spun her around in the air. Amity screams louder when she's brought down and smashed into the floor.
Edric, Emira & Willow: AMITY!
Amity is laid on the floor on her side in puddle of goo, her gauntlets dissolving. She groans as she struggles and twists herself, slowly getting on her knees.
Amity: No way…I'm…not giving up.
Amity manages to get on her feet, turning back around to face Grom, clutching her chest and panting hard as she glares at Grom.
Amity: I'll keep fighting for LUKE!
Amity traces a large spell circle and held out both her hands, unleashing a barrage of fireballs at Grom, but the Fear Bringer barely flinches, prompting Amity to summon her Abomination and it launches itself at Grom who opens its massive jaws and devours it. Amity forms her chakrams again and two spell circles around her wrist, coating her weapons in magenta flames and charging Grom once more. She leapt to slice the monster and it quickly whips out more tentacles, blocking Amity and her fiery chakrams. She's sent back but Amity recovers and tosses her chakrams which slices and burns Grom, causing it to roar in pain
Amity: I'm not afraid of you! YOU HEAR ME! I'M NOT AFRAID! If you wanna turn into my worst fear then do your worst!
Taking Amity's challenge, Grom sends out sludge hurling towards her and stops inches away much to her surprise. The sludge morphs into a humanoid form with no legs as it's connected to Grom. To Amity's horror it morphs into the shape of a woman with a curvaceous body and her hair is done in a bun similar to hers. It opens its blue eyes, staring right at a terrified Amity.
Bump: Grom has just assumed another humanoid form!?
Willow: Who's that!?
Emira: Is that…?
Edric: Mom!?
Eda: Odalia!?
Amity: Amity steps back, afraid. M-mom?! W-what are you doing here!?
Grom: Amity Blight!? Amity is taken aback, especially when Grom is able to perfectly mimic her mother's voice. You are in so much trouble!? How dare you betray me!?
Amity: What!? No! I-I didn't betray you! I swear!
Emira: Sis! Don't listen! That's not Mom!
Edric: Fight back!
Grom has its creation approach Amity, forcing her to take steps back in fear. Amity is petrified with fear at the sight of her mother's form…the woman who forced her to sever her friendship with Willow…the woman whose had a hold on her over her entire life…a so-called mother who treats her children like business tools instead of family. Deep down…Amity's always been terrified of what her heartless mother would do if she found out she was friends with a human and Willow again.
Grom: So, you and the twins haven't gone and befriended a powerless human boy! And against my orders you haven't become friends with Willow again, have you?
Amity: I-I-
Grom: I warned you to never be friends with anyone of low status again, especially Willow!
Amity: No…I…I…I can explain!
Grom: A Blight always upholds their end of the deal. And if you will not uphold your end of ours then you need to be taught a valuable lesson! And suffering will be your teacher!
Grom-Odalia's arms form into large scythes which it uses to slice Amity. The youngest Blight quickly brought up her chakrams, barely blocking the scythes. Amity groans and grunts in pain, becoming overwhelmed by Grom.
Edric & Emira: Amity!?
Willow: Hang in there! Don't give up!
Viney: This is horrible! Amity's not as strong as Luke is!
Jerbo: Yeah, if she doesn't figure something out, she's gonna get creamed!
Amity barely manages to push off Grom Odalia and roll out of the way. Grom unleashes tentacles at Amity from its body, prompting her to cartwheel, dodging 2 tentacles, flipping above one and running around Grom. The Grom creations then lunges at Amity launching relentless slashes that Amity struggles to parry and block with her chakrams, forced back and unable to find the courage to fight back. Amity swung left and right but was unable to land a hit. Eventually, Grom Odalia thrashes back and unleashes sludge from its arm that ensnares Amity and she's lifted into the air with a scream, then smashed right onto the floor. Amity is laid on her back, groaning in agony and covered in some goo. She lifts herself up clutching her side in pain and gasps in terror when Grom dashes over to her and Grom Odalia inches from her face. Amity backs away in fear.
Odalia: You should've heeded my warning, dear Mittens.
Amity freezes with fear, her eyes welling up with tears.
Amity: No…please!
Odalia: The weak don't have a place in our society. Blights only associate with the strongest of witchlings.
Amity edges her hand back and stops when she feels something. She gasps, turning her head to see she's touching Rebellion, Luke's sword. She stares at the weapon of her defeated love interest who got hurt fighting Grom on his own when she should've been there for him. The sight of his sword fills her with guilt while at the same times makes her think about his words.
Amity: Luke…
...
She suddenly sees a flash of Luke encouraging her.
Luke: Come on, Ams! This is your moment to shine.
Amity looks to Grom Odalia slowly approaching her then back to Rebellion, causing Luke to speak in her head again.
Luke: You can do it! Don't let your fears own you.

Amity's eyes shake with an epiphany, remembering what Luke taught her and what she reminded him. She closes her eyelids, then snaps them back open with fire and determination, glaring at Grom Odalia and clutching Rebellion hard, refusing to back down anymore. With a scream, Amity bolts and unleashes a backhanded slash with Rebellion, slicing Grom Odalia and sending her back, causing all the spectators to gasp in sheer shock, especially Amity's friends and siblings.
Gus: Amity has just struck back against Grom with our fallen Grom King's sword! She's using to fight!
With another scream Amity lunges at Grom Odalia who lunges more scythes and this time Amity cuts through them with two swings and with a lunge she thrusts her sword into the Grom version of her controlling mother, causing it to gasp for air, its eyes glowing and Amity gritting her teeth at it.
Amity: I DON'T CARE! I never wanted to be friends with Boscha! I never even liked her! Boscha is agape in shock from hearing that. I'll be friends with who I want to be! I'll choose who I want to be!
Grom: You are whoever I say you are!
Amity: Not ANYMORE!
Amity twists the Rebellion and Grom Odalia cries out in pain, exploding into sludge as Amity jumps back, now facing the real Grom once more who roars in rage at Amity who clutches Rebellion in a middle stance.
Amity: Luke taught me to face my fears! So that's exactly what I'm going to DO! I won't let you make anyone experience their worst nightmares! I will save the Boiling Isles!
Amity casts a fire spell, this time thrusting Rebellion to unleash a blast of flames that engulf Grom in an explosion. It clears the smoke with its tentacles to see Amity charge at it, engulfing Luke's sword in magenta flames.
Amity: You want more!?
Grom launches its arms but Amity launches herself, ploughing through the arms with a thrust and stabbing Grom right under its jaws, causing it to roar in pain, invoking gasps of disbelief from everyone.
Amity: THIS IS FOR LUKE!
Amity twists the sword, creating an explosion of magenta flames inside the arena much to the disbelief of all the students.
Edric & Emira: Amity!
Willow: Ohmygosh!
...
Amity is blasted out of the arena, screaming and hitting the floor hard between the ramp and the gym entrance. Her face is a little bruised and burned but she manages to lift herself up, groaning and clutching stomach.
Amity: Okay…that probably wasn't a smart move on my part.
She hears a roar that causes her to gasp in shock. The arena is engulfed in magenta flames, Grom was nowhere to be seen…until the monster bursts out from the arena, landing in front of Amity with a roar of rage. The students all panic, screaming in horror to see Grom has escaped its prison, unscathed. Amity backs away in horror.
Amity: No! It can't be!
Eda: Are you kidding me!? What does it take to kill this thing!
Willow: Amity put everything she had into that blast!
Emira: Mittens! RUN!
Grom roars and unleashes its tendrils. Amity screams and rolls back, barely avoiding getting stabbed before scrambling up to her feet and running out the door, making a turn before rushing down the hallway, Grom ravenously following her. The students are all screaming in fear, Grom has escaped and once it's done with Amity, it's going to have everyone on the Boiling Isles suffer their worst nightmare. Bump has the mic back in his hand.
Principal Bump: Grom has escaped!
Gus and King watches as the students panic over Grom's escape. Gus stares at the microphone in Principal Bump's hand, an idea coming to mind and he looks to King.
Gus: We gotta calm the crowd down! King, now's your chance.
Seeing this is his chance to win over the crowd like Gus did, King grabs the microphone as the students continue panicking.
King: Gimme! King and Gus ran off the stage and to the exit, the spotlight shining on them. King of Demons, you got this. King takes a deep breath and speaks, this time more confident. Well, folks, looks like our show literally just took off! They look at King, confused. Weh?
Gus: You gotta pander.
King: Uh…took off just like your local sports team would take off when they're about to make a goal?
The students cheer, King has won them over with his pandering.
Students: Yeah, sports team! Sports team! Oh, yeah! I love our team!
King: Yeah, that's right. Things are looking bad I know. Our Grom King, Luke… King is close to crying upon mentioning him but remains strong. Has been defeated and now our Grom Queen Amity is fighting in his honour. Whether she wins or lose we need to see this show through till the very end. That's what Luke would do! So let's follow our and see what happens next.
The students all cheer, agreeing with King as Gus takes the little demon into his arms, and they lead out the crowd. Willow, Edric, Emira, Viney, Jerbo, Barcus and Eda are the last out the door exchanging looks of profound worry which shifts into agreement that they need to back up Amity.
Amity is running for her life as Grom follows close behind her in the forest.
Amity: I…hate…being Grom Queen!
Eventually, Amity arrives at the edge of a cliff and stops, finding herself cornered with nowhere left to run.
Devil May Cry 4 – Awake 2 – Awaken diabolical sword
Grom approaches her and Amity fell on her rump, terrified out of her mind as the Fear Bringer approaches her. It brings out its tendrils and ensnares Amity with them. She screams, unable to escape as she's lifted into the air. At that moment Eda flies in with her staff.
Eda: Spicy toss! Grom gets hit with a fireball in the back. Eda lands in front of the trees, aiming her staff. Hands off my human's girlfriend, you misshapen excuse for a monster!
Grom roars in anger at the Owl Lady and Amity's face is filled with pain and fear, facing Eda.
Amity: Eda!
Eda: Hang on kid! I'll get you outta there!
Eda was about to cast a spell until Edric and Emira grab her arm, stopping her.
Edric: No, wait!
Emira: If you try to blast Grom you might hurt our sister too!
Eda: Oh, dang! I didn't think of that!
Willow, Gus and King arrive next to them.
Gus: Isn't there anything we can do!?
Eda: There's nothing we can do, Goops. Unless we can help her without hurting her, Amity's on her own.
Willow: No…!
Amity still stuck, groans and grunts as she feels Grom's grip tightening.
Amity: I…I can't win. I've lost.
Amity stares at Grom, where Luke is trapped in, tears of heartbreak welling up in her eyes.
Amity: Luke…I'm sorry. I failed you.
The tears run down her face and Grom tightens its grip, squeezing Amity hard and causing her to scream out in pain and anguish as she feels her bones beginning to crack. Emira hugs onto Edric, Willow covers her mouth and the entire gang cringe, trying to look away, even Eda. All of them feel powerless and wish they could intervene but they can't
Amity continues screaming, releasing a few tear drops as her thoughts dwell on one person.
Amity: L-Luke!
We now go inside Grom which is a void of black sludge. Deep within this void is the injured Luke who's barely clinging on to life, most of his body engulfed in sludge, unable to move a muscle, especially since he's unconscious. Amity's screams could be heard even from within and when they get loud enough…he speaks, proving he is still alive as his eyes twitch.
Luke: Ams…
Everything blacks out for Luke as he hears himself screaming, his mind once again going back to the one night everything changed for him.
Young Luke: Mom…? Mom? Mom! MAMAAAAA!
(Flashback)
The one night everything changed, Luke was dropped down by his seemingly lifeless mother's side, on his hands and knees, looking down in anguish as the rain heavily pours and the mugger has his gun aimed at Luke with a crazed and sadistic grin, thunder clapping,
Young Luke shakes, holding in his sobs. Seeing Camila, his only family left looking dead…causes something to snap within Luke. Something the heartless mugger will never live to regret for what was left of his life. He could hear Luke's shaking and silently sobbing, then it turns into a growly much to his confusion.
Then, to his shock, Luke's hair colour slowly changes blue, as he growls his hands morph into claws, his top incisors become two sharp fangs. His hair finishes changing to dark blue and the mugger steps away, taken aback by the sudden change. Luke growls menacingly, then twists his head to reveal the sclera of his eyes have changes and irises have been dilated.
The mugger gasps in shock.
Mugger: What the-!?
With a vicious roar Luke leaps and lunges at the mugger. Everything blacks out and the only thing that could be heard was the Mugger's well-deserved screams of anguish and pain at the hands of Luke.
In the dark void, a man with long blue hair is stood with his back turned. We see his mouth move, whispering one inaudible word.
(End of Flashback)
Luke's eyes snap open, glowing blue and his entire body becomes engulfed in a blazing blue aura. His only free hand twitches.
From afar, inside the sludge void of Grom, the Rebellion is floating inside. It becomes engulfed in the same aura and one by one, the Glyphs activate, Electric, Light, Ice, Fire, Water and Plant.
The void of Grom was shaking under Luke's transformation, his eyes glowing brighter as his hands form into claws and his hair slowly turning blue, the aura enveloping him becoming larger and brighter as he opens his hand.
In response, Rebellion flung itself into Luke's hand and the moment he catches it, his eyes release a blinding light and an explosion of energy is released from his body.
Outside, Amity stops screaming when she feels Grom's grip weakening for some reason. She looks down and gasps to see flashes of blue light coming from everywhere around its body, threatening to burst.
Eda, King, Willow, Gus, Edric and Emira watch in shock to see the light and Grom shifting uncontrollably.
Willow: What's going on!?
Eda: I don't know kid! But I think we're about to find out!
Principal Bump, Viney, Jerbo, Barcus, Mattholomule, Skara, Boscha and all the other students arrive to see what's going.
Grom kept shifting uncontrollably until the monster's body finally explodes, a burst of blue energy is released and someone engulfed in blue aura flies out of Grom, slicing the tendrils and snagging Amity in an instant.
The figure lands near the cliff, holding Amity bridal-style in one arm. Eda and everyone were agape in disbelief to see who it was.
Eda, King, Willow, Gus, Edric & Emira: LUKE!?
It was definitely Luke, on one knee and clutching the Rebellion in his other hand as he pants. The entire crowd is speechless, not only is Luke alive but he's changed, unlocking some kind of power. His hair is dark blue, his eyes are dilated and the sclera is black, his hands have turned into claws, he has two fangs coming out of his mouth and a blazing blue aura and electricity swirls and surges around him and the Rebellion.
Amity looks up, equally stunned to see the one holding her in his arm really was Luke who everyone thought to have been devoured.
Amity: Luke…? Is that you?
Luke says nothing, giving Amity a grin before gently setting her down. The youngest Blight is in shock as she backs away and looks at her boyfriend's new form in awe as he stood up.
Amity: Whoa…
Luke turns to face Grom with a powerful stare as he surges with energy and electricity that's lighting up everything around him while clutching the energized Rebellion. All the Glyph's on the sword are glowing. Grom steps back, confused and scared.
The crowd is still in awe at this amazing sight. Even more so to see Luke's stab wound is gone and the damage done to his shirt is repaired.
Willow: Oh…my…Titan! Is that really, Luke!? He's alive!
Gus: And look at him! He's changed!
King: And he's all glowy! What's happening!?
Edric: Maybe it's a human thing!
Emira: This is definitely NOT a human thing!
Viney: It's beautiful…!
Jerbo: And his stab wound…it's gone!
Barcus: Woof! Woof! (What kind of power is this!?)
Boscha: What the heck is going on here!? Humans can't do magic!? How is he doing this!?
Principal Bump himself is awed, especially seeing how familiar this is.
Bump: This power…it can't be…
King: Eda, do you have any idea what's going on!? He hears nothing. Eda?
King looks to see his caretaker is dead silent, her mouth agape in disbelief as she stares at Luke's new form, his blue hair, the aura and especially the Rebellion glowing with the same aura and reacting to him.
Eda: It can't be…
Eda gasps when she sees a faint energy silhouette surrounding Luke, a silhouette of him with his horns, wings and a scaly body, a figure Eda and Bump are all too familiar with. The silhouette disappears.
Luke continues starting at Grom and Amity with him. Rebellion undergoes a little change too, all the Glyphs glowing causes it to be enveloped in a beautiful multi-coloured aura.
Amity: Luke…what's happened to you?
Luke speaks, his voice pretty much the same but with some distortion to it.
Luke: The day my mother was shot in front of me…everything changed. From that day forth…my innocence was shattered. But I heard a voice echoing in my head. It was something I wish I had that day. "Power".
Eda and Bump widen their eyes and gasp upon hearing that, sensing familiarity from the word.
Luke: "Give me more power". I didn't have any of that. So, I became a fighter, to make the first step in gaining that power. "I will endure the exile."
Eda widens her eyes and mouth more, a look of realization hitting her face, like she's finally put two and two together and learned something no one has figured out.
Eda: Could he really be…?
Luke: And if I become some sort of monster…so be it. Anything…to protect my FAMILY!
With a might swing of his sword, Luke unleashes a huge multi-coloured energy blade that smashes into Grom and engulfs it, causing it roar in pain and anguish until it explodes electrical energy much to the shock of all the amazed spectators.
Exhausted, Luke drops down to his hands and knees, panting as he reverts back to normal.
Amity: Luke!
Amity got up and ran over to him.
…
Gus: He's gone back to normal now. He must've used up all his energy.
Willow: That was incredible!
King: He completely blew up Grom!
Edric: Man, I knew Luke was badass but I didn't think he do that!
Emira: Yeah! He just continues to surprise us!
The students murmur in awe at what Luke just did. While those that had messed with him, being Boscha, Mattholomule and a few others were slightly afraid, some scared to get on his bad side. Eda is still in a state of shock, not just from Luke's display of power but what she's figured out about him.
Eda: Luke…could you be who I think you are?
Amity: Luke! Luke! Amity drops down in front of him. Luke! Are you okay!?
Luke looks up, clutching his side with a weak smile.
Luke: Yeah. I'm fine, Ams. Just catching my breath.
Amity: That was amazing! How did you do that?
Luke: I swear I have no idea! I don't know what I just did, but man, that was wild.
Amity wells up with tears, smiling in joy before she tackles Luke to the ground and he fell on his back with a grunt, as she hugs him.
Luke: Ow! Easy! I'm still sore!
Luke is surprised to find Amity crying tears of joy onto him.
Amity: I'm so happy you're alive!
Amity continues crying onto him, causing Luke to smile and wrap and an arm around her to hug.
Luke: It's okay, Ams. I'm alive. I'm not going anywhere.
The two continue hugging, laid on the ground…then open their eyes when they hear rumbling. Amity twists and the duo lift themselves up to see the black sludges converging together, quickly reforming Grom who lets out a vicious roar of rage at Luke much to everyone's horror and dismay. Even after exploding to bits, Grom was able to regenerate itself.
Amity: But…but how!?
Luke: OH, COME ON! WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO KILL THIS GUY!?
King: King screams into the mic. GROM'S STILL ALIVE!
The students all scream and panic, quickly hiding in the bushes except Luke's friends who are agape in disbelief.
Eda: You've got to be kidding me! Can nothing kill this monster in this form!?
Grom slowly approaches Luke and Amity. They were in a terrible situation. Luke's too tired now to put up a decent fight. Refusing to let her love interest get hurt again, Amity quickly puts herself between Luke and Grom, protecting him.
Amity: Stay away from him!
Luke: Amity!?
Grom growls and reaches out an inky arm towards Amity, she screams as she gets lifted high above the ground. She looks to Luke in regret, they're in this situation because she was too scared to face her fears.
Amity: I'm sorry, Luke. I should have fought with you from the very beginning! Grom's eyes glow blue. I-!
She's cut off when her eyes glow, which means Grom is reading her mind.
Luke: Amity! No! Your fear!
Grom grows, turning more and more blob-like. But to everyone's shock, instead of turning into a monstrous form or releasing a figure from its body, the Fear Bringer morphs into humanoid body with glowing white eyes. Unlike with Luke, this humanoid figure is unclear, no one can tell who it is. It could be anyone.
Luke: Who is that?
Amity's eyes stop glowing, now face-to-face with her greatest fear, separate from Odalia, the one she was afraid to face the most. Grom takes the pink note from Amity's pocket and spitefully rips it in half, letting it fall to the ground. Amity closes her eyes, embarrassed, clutching her dress as Grom slinks away. Amity picks up one half of the note from the ground and holds it to her heart, close to tears. Luke picks up the other, unfurls it, and reads it.
Will you go to Grom with me? -Amity.
Luke gasps in understanding, Amity's biggest fear was getting hatefully rejected by the person she wanted to ask to be her date for Grom.
Luke: You were afraid of getting rejected. Luke gives a kind smile. Amity, it's okay. What if I went to Grom with you instead?
He holds out his hand for Amity to take. The Youngest Blight smiles in gratitude, pocketing her note and reaching out.
Amity: Really?
Luke: Of course. That's what friends do.
Amity smiles more, then looks sternly to Grom who reverts back to its true form. It rises and towers above them, roaring menacingly with its huge jaws.
Luke: Okay, so obviously head-to-head combat won't kill this guy. So, maybe we need to take a more creative approach.
Amity: Well, then, if that's settled, may I have this dance…my king?
She holds out her hand to Luke and he grins, taking it.
Luke: It would be my pleasure…my queen.
Owl House – Luke (Luz) and Amity Dance music
They close in and wrap an arm around each other, ready to dance, the moon shining brightly behind them as they make their move. Luke spins Amity and helps her do a split, she casts a spell with her feet. With a twirl the duo stood directly on the centre of the spell circle as a giant abomination form below them.
They rise up on it while dancing and posing. Luke fans out his 4 Plant Glyphs with a sly look. Amity dips Luke, and he slaps a glyph onto the abomination. Luke spins Amity around and dips her next, the both of them sharing romantic smiles as they look each other in the eyes.
They gracefully jump off and the Abomination leaps at Grom. The beast devours Amity's creation, its biggest mistake. Green light moves within it, signalling the activation of Luke's Plant Glyph. As a result, plants, flowers and vines start to bloom through it.
Luke lands, then catches Amity, spinning her around several times before putting her on her feet. As they finish with an amazing pose, holding hands and sharing a look as Grom explodes behind them in black goo and green light.

In the place of Grom was a giant tree with blue and pink leaves that gently fell down the air. The last remnants of Grom slink off, unable to reform this. Luke and Amity look up as a crown and tiara respectively form on their heads. They share a warm smile; this is a night they would never forget.
Luke: So…who did you wanna ask out?
Amity: Amity blushes. Oh, it's… it's not important.
She pulls the note-piece from her pocket and tosses it aside. It lands right beside the other half, and unfurls to read, "Luke", for a completed message of:
Luke,
will you go to Grom with me?
Amity
The person Amity wanted to ask out was none other than Luke.
Amity: Luke…thank you, for everything. And…I'm sorry you had to go through all of this. If I wasn't such a coward…
Luke: Come on, Amity, don't say that. You're not a coward. I could hear you fighting. You fought Grom and faced your fears! I wish I could've seen you, I bet you were a total badass, Ams!
Amity: Amity chuckles, blushing a little.
Luke: So…how would you rate me being your date for Grom?
Amity blushes as she and Luke share loving looks.
Amity: I can honestly say, you've given me one of the best nights of my life. So, again, thank you Luke.
Luke: Don't mention it, princess. Don't mention it.
King runs to the side of the duo and speaks, no longer hindered by stage fright.
King: And there you have it, folks. A happy ending for this year's Grom. Let's give a big hand to our Grom King and Queen, Luke Noceda and Amity Blight!
Luke flashes a toothy smile as Amity blushes awkwardly. The students pop out of the bushes and trees behind the gang and run toward them, cheering along with Willow, Edric and Emira who run over to the duo first, Willow jumping into Luke for a hug which he gladly accepts and Emira picks up Amity, spinning her into a hug which she accepts while Edric holds her shoulder.
Willow: Luke, you did it! You two beat Grom! That was amazing!
Luke laughs and Willow pulls back, the two holding hands.
Edric ruffles Amity's hair a little and this time she doesn't mind.
Edric: That was totally gnarly mittens. You showed some real guts out there.
Emira: Emira pulls back. We're so proud of you, sis! You're a hero! You and Luke!
Amity: Aww. Thanks, you guys.
All the students (except Boscha) parade Luke and Amity, holding them up. Luke puts a hand on Amity's shoulder and gives her a wink which she returns.
Eda and Bump are clapping for them next to Gus and King.
Gus: You did it, buddy!
King: Of course, I did it! I'm the King of Demons and I've never had stage fright in my life! The students hold up King, right by Luke and Amity much to his joy. They love me!
Luke and Amity laugh at King's adorability and share another warm smile. Tonight, couldn't have been any better.
30 minutes later, the students and staff are all back in the gym, erupting and chanting with cheers for Luke and Amity, the latter stood at the very front (all healed up, her dress fixed up and wearing her tiara) with Willow, Gus, Edric, Emira and Eda, sheepishly blushing as they praise her. Bump steps up onto the stage with his microphone.
Principal Bump: Students, as we all know, thanks to the bravery and valiant efforts of our Grom Royalties, Luke Noceda and Amity Blight, Grom has once again been defeated! The students all cheer louder, Emira places a hand on Amity's shoulder, giving a wink and she smiles back. To commemorate what is perhaps our greatest victory over Grom, our Grom King wishes to sing a song for this very special occasion. I now pass it onto him.
The curtain behind him opens to reveal Luke (all healed up and wearing his found fedora), holding his guitar wrapped around him, King is sat in front of a drum set and they're stood among a pair of large speakers at the back and some smaller ones at the front. The crowd explode with cheers for their king and hero. Luke waves to them all as he walks up to the mic, especially his friends and teacher. Eda gives Luke the thumbs up and Amity smiles sweetly, waving to her crush which he gladly returns.
Luke: This song goes out to all of you and it's called "What I'm made off!" Are you ready to rock fellow Hexolios!
Student: YEEEEAAAAHH!
The students keep erupting with cheers, screaming as they rose their fists or throw stuff up.
Luke: King! My main man, time to rock and roll!
King held and spun his drumsticks, ready to play.
King: The King of Demons is ready!?
Luke: Luke held up his fingers. A one! A two! A one, two, three, FOUR!
Sonic Heroes – What I'm made of
Luke begins to play his guitar and King starts to beat on the drum, an appropriately loud music blaring out of the speakers as they play. The entire gym gets rocked as the students roar with cheers as he plays.
After the guitar he sings into the mic with King continuing to drum.
Luke: I don't care what you're thinking

Is enough to set me free!
Luke strums the strings and the crowd of student's cheer as Luke sang his epic song through the mic.
I could fight the feeling

Luke jumps onto one of the speakers, strumming his guitar strings more as he sang.

King bangs all areas of the drums as hard and fast as he could, keeping up with Luke's singing and being in sync.

Luke leapt off the speakers as he sung the last word. King smacks a couple of tambourines on the drums before drumming again while Luke bolts up, singing to the mic again.

And one by one they've all become

The crowd and Luke's friends were loving the song so much that they began dancing along with it, even Eda, Amity, Principal Bump and all the other teachers.

A black mark on the floor
Skara, Cat and Amelia were also dancing to the song except Boscha just crosses her arms in jealousy and contempt at Luke, her pride refusing to let her dance.

As Luke sang that last part, he brought out all 6 of glyphs: Light, Electric, Ice, Fire, Water and Plant. He activates and tosses them all up. The Glyphs all converge together in a combination of fire, electric, water and light encased in ice and then a ball of vines which explodes to release an indoor elemental firework that lights the entire room along with the Snaggleback disco ball.

Tiny shards of ice, sparks of fire and electricity, petals and light orbs rain down on the audience which they all take in, some still dancing, Willow, Emira, Amity and couple others grabbing a couple of them in amazement as Luke and King continue playing.

As Luke screams the last part he jumps and strums his guitar hard, causing several Electric Glyphs behind him and King to activate and release six stage fireworks and he points to the audience before strumming his guitar, doing some moves while King beats away at the drums.

As King drums away, Luke performs an amazing guitar solo, strumming away at his guitar while striking moves, performing a kick, a spin and does a couple jumps, all while the geyser of fireworks keep flaring.
Eda, Amity, Willow, Gus, Edric, Emira, Viney, Jerbo, Barcus, Skara, Cat, Amelia, Principal Bump and many others dance to the solo, a couple others just continue cheering with their arms raised up.
Boscha is still frowning but then notices she's tapping her foot to the beat. She then looks up Luke, placing guitar on his shoulder as he plays it, the crowd cheering louder. The sight of it, forces her to smile a little in respect. As much as she despises humans, especially Luke, she can't help but in enjoy this song. Soon, her foot tapping becomes a little dance and just like that she's dancing to the solo with her friends. She hates Luke but she loves the song, she'll at least give him credit.
Luke and King get ready for the finale

Luke does one final play with his guitar and King beats the drums like there's no tomorrow.

Luke slides on his knees stopping right at the edge of the stage as he plays.

Luke strikes the final pose, strumming his guitar one final time before spreading his free arm and King bangs the drum one final time, the stage fireworks practically erupting now.

Luke: Woo-hoo! Jackpot baby! Thank you Hexside! Goodnight!
Luke fell on his back after letting out all his heart and passion into this song and the entire crowd, especially every one of Luke's friends roar with cheers, absolutely loving his song which is now a big hit. The fireworks die down and confetti fell everywhere around the gym.
As the students' cheer, Luke kicks himself up and looks to King who gave him the thumbs up which he gladly returns. Then he looks to see Eda, Willow, Gus, Edric, Emira, Viney, Jerbo and Barcus all cheering louder than anyone else, Edric gives Luke a whistle and even Principal Bump and a couple other teachers give their applause. He finally looks to Amity covering her mouth, trying to stop herself from giving a fangirl scream. She removes her hands, blushing as she gave Luke a wave and the human boy returns it, blushing too.
Tonight, was one of the best nights of his life. Something he couldn't experience at his human school. A memory he'd treasure for the rest of his life.
After partying out all night for the rest of Grom everyone returns to their homes, some staying behind to clean up. Eda, King, and Luke have just arrived back at the Owl House, the former two in high spirits as the latter wears his crown again, holding his fedora in one hand and his guitar is strapped around his back.
Eda: Whoo! Watch out for this, human! Oh, you did good, kid.
Luke: Thanks, teach.
Eda: And I've gotta say kid, you are one heck of a singer! You know that?
Luke: Hell yeah, I am! But I couldn't have done it without my main man. Luke looks to King. I say we really rocked the house, am I right little buddy!?
King: Heck yeah, we did! I am now the King of Instruments! Up top!
King leapt up and he and Luke share a high-five.
Eda: Didn't know you could play a guitar like that.
Luke: Luke shrugs. It's one of my favourite hobbies back home. Luke then wipes his forehead. Phew. What a rough night. That was by far my toughest fight yet. He puts his hat back on. You weren't kidding about, Grom. I can't believe I'm saying this but maybe you were right Eda. Maybe Grom was above my pay grade.
Eda smiles, walking over and placing a hand on his shoulder.
Eda: Yeah, it was. But despite that, you really pulled through. You faced your fears and were rewarded. I'm proud of you, Luke.
Luke: Thanks, E.
King: And that glowing thing you did with the fangs blue hair when you busted out of Grom, that was amazing! And your stab wound is all closed up like nothing ever happened! How did you do all that!?
Luke: I have no idea. I mean, I know I'm a badass, but I didn't know I could do that. It was for a short time, but it was pretty wild. What do you think teach?
Eda: I'll be honest. I'm not quite sure myself, kid. I've never really seen that kind of power before, especially from a human. But I could tell for sure that was demonic power you unleashed. And your wound healing like that…that's something only devils are capable of.
Luke: Devils?
King: Yeah. Devils have the power to close their wounds without any need for healing magic.
Luke: Really?! That's pretty cool. But…what does that have to do with me?
Eda: It's too early to draw a conclusion at this time. No use trying to wrap our heads around something we don't understand. If we ever find anything out about it, we'll figure it out together.
Luke: Yeah, I guess you're right.
Eda drops down to Luke's level, giving him a kind smile.
Eda: Listen, Luke, I just want to apologise…for our argument this morning. I want you to understand I didn't say any of that because I actually thought you were fragile. I've seen what you can do. I've watched you battle one opponent after another. I know how tough you are, how strong you are. And with each spell you learn, you're only growing stronger. I was just worried Grom might be too much for you, especially after hearing you tell your story to your friends. I said all that because I care for you. And…I wouldn't want you to get hurt from biting off more than you can chew.
Luke: Aww. That's sweet. It's okay, Eda. There's no need to apologize. I know you were just looking out for me in your Owl Lady way. And I appreciate that.
Eda: Well, of course I was looking out for you. You're MY kid after all. And when I say that I don't mean you're my property or anything. I…ugh…I can't believe I'm saying this right now, but… She gives a warm smile. As short as your time has been here in the Demon Realm, you've become the son I never knew I needed.
Luke widens his eyes in shock and disbelief, touched by that.
Luke: You really mean that?
Eda: Yeah. I do.
With a touched smile Luke comes up and wraps his arms around her for a hug, surprising her again.
Luke: Thanks, teach.
Normally, Eda would be confused by hugs but for the first time she smiles and hugs back.
Eda: Don't mention it kiddo.
King: King joins in, hugging Eda's leg. King wants hugs too!
After a while Eda pushes Luke off, holding his shoulders and King lets go.
Eda: So, tell me, how'd it feel to face down your fears? Do you think after this you're finally able to forget that guy did to you?
Luke: Not exactly. I'll never forget what that asshole did to me and my mom. But after facing him today…even though he wasn't real, my shoulder feels a little lighter. I feel like I'm able to accept what happened to me that night and let it go.
Eda: That's good. And hey, I…have a bit of experience with childhood traumas. If…you ever want to talk about things, then…you've got me, okay.
Luke: Thanks, Eda.
Eda: I've gotta ask, though, are you really adopted?
Luke: You overheard that part too, huh? Both of you? Eda and King nod. Yeah, I'm adopted. Like I told my friends, I was floating down the river as a baby and Camila found me. I don't know who my parents were or where I came from.
Eda: Eda and King give sympathetic looks. I'm sorry to hear that.
Luke: No, no. It's fine, really. Like I said, it's not big deal. Camila's been great to me. Sure, I couldn't fit in and make any friends in my world but I'm grateful for everything my foster parents have done for me. They've given me a home, a life, my name. Not a lot of people would've done that.
Eda: Yeah, I hear ya, kid. And I also heard, your parents gave you a little memento. Mind if I see it?
Luke: Sure. Why not?
Luke takes out his amulet, presenting it and upon getting a closer look at it, Eda widens her eyes in confirmation.
King: Ooh! Shiny!
King reaches out only for Luke to slap his hand.
Luke: Absolutely not. No one touches this but me.
Eda: This amulet means a lot more to you than anything, doesn't it kid?
Luke: You could say that. It's an heirloom to the parents I never knew. A family treasure. And anyone who lays a finger on it… Luke tilts his head a little. Well, let's just say they'll end up like the first and last guy who did it.
King: Why? What happened to him?
Luke: It was just some jerk who was two grades above me. It was after my first day of middle school. Once school was out, I tripped, and my amulet fell off. Before I could pick it up, this jerky group of eighth graders came by and their leader took it. I tried to get it back, but he shoved me to ground. I got angry after that, and I started beating the crud out them. Their leader got the worst of it, when I broke one of his arms, one of his legs, and all his teeth.
Eda and King were shocked to hear that, the former slapped a hand over her mouth and the latter recoiled, both are greatly disturbed. Luke shrugs and dismisses their concerns.
Luke: Don't worry, it wasn't permanent. The moron's arm and leg healed after a few months, and he ate his meals through a straw for over a year. No one's tried to touch it since. I mean, sure I got detention for a month, but it was so worth it.
Eda: Wow, kid. You…You have a surprisingly violent streak in you.
Luke: Only when someone touches my amulet. Anyone who lays a finger on it is gonna wish they hadn't met me.
Eda: Luke, I need to know. Have you ever wondered who your birth parents were?
Luke: Not really. I mean…I always wished I could meet them one day but…I was okay with the family I was living with. I…never really thought too much about it. I mean, I don't know who or where my parents are.
Eda: Eda smiles a little. Makes sense. Eda closes Luke's fingers onto the amulet. You should keep holding onto that. It seems really important. So, don't ever lose it.
Luke: I don't plan to. I've been holding onto this thing my whole life. It's the only thing I have from my parents. If they're out there somewhere, one day I want to find them.
King: Maybe, we can help you! Right, Eda!
Eda has a sad and knowing expression, once again showing she knows something they don't but nonetheless, puts on a smile.
Eda: Yeah…
Luke bends down, rubbing King's skull and putting his amulet away.
Luke: Thanks, little buddy.
Eda slyly smiles, deciding to get rid of the tension with some teasing.
Eda: So…how'd it feel to share a dance with your girlfriend?
Luke recoils, blushing in embarrassment which turns into annoyance as King bursts into laughter.
Luke: How many times do I have to say it!? Amity's not my girlfriend! I'm not even in love with her!
Eda stood up, hands on her with a knowing smirk.
Eda: Uh huh. Sure, you aren't kid.
Luke: I'm serious! We're just close friends!
King: Ha-ha! You're blushing just tells us you're lying to yourself!
Luke: Shut up, furball! We're not a couple!
Eda: Keep telling yourself that, kiddo. All couples start out as "close friends". You know, I can't help but notice you're not such a wise-cracker when I bring up this topic.
Luke: Buh. Whatever. I'm going to bed. I'm all partied out. Eda watches Luke walk off, tossing the crown onto the ground. Here furball. You can be Grom King for the night. I'll take it back in the morning.
King: King picks it up and places it on his head. HA! There can only be one king and that's me! I am the one true KING OF GROM!
Eda deadpans at this scene before looking off in Luke's direction, watching him until he disappears from sight. Her mind flashes back to what just happened.
(Flashback)
Luke bursting out of Grom and saving Amity.
Luke in his new form with blue hair, black eyes and claws. And the electrical aura that had enveloped him.
The Rebellion reacting to Luke and becoming engulfed in that same aura.
The silhouette that had appeared for a brief shiny moment in Luke's place.
(End of Flashback)
After witnessing the Rebellion react to Luke like that, the power he displayed and the amulet, the suspicions she had about Luke are finally confirmed.
Eda: It's him…it's really him.
Eda takes something out of her hair and gives it a deep stare. In her palm was an amulet and… it's identical to Luke's! An exact duplicate!
Eda: Sparda… Aelita…
Meanwhile, at the gym some Abominations were cleaning up, sweeping up traces of Grom on the gym floor. Some of the students have remained at school, two of the being Edric and Emira who are sat alone on the stands. Emira has her arms crossed on her knees, looking sullen with Ed's blazer wrapped around her. Neither of the twins got a date for a Grom much to their dismay.
Edric: Man, I can't believe we both of us got stood up at Grom. It must be a prank of some sort. He double takes. Though to be fair we have pranked a lot of people at school, so…we kinda had it coming. He gives his sister a teasing look. Oh well, guess you're stuck with me again.
Edric becomes surprised when he sees his twin crying and sobbing much to panic.
Edric: I was joking, okay!?
Emira: It isn't about you! Ugh! She looks away, tears still in her eyes. It's just…I was looking forward to Grom Night for weeks and…I didn't even get to dance.
Edric gives Emira a deep look of sympathy, understanding how important this was to her. He smiles, a thought coming to mind. Emira turns to see her brother stood up offering his hand.
Edric: Shall we?
Emira: Emira deadpans. Dance? With you?
Edric: What? I am the best dancer in Hexside and you know it. Plus, we used to practice dancing a lot when we were little, remember?
Emira becomes surprised, then looks down with a smile, remembering the moments she shared with her twin when they were younger.
Emira: Oh yeah. We did do that. That was fun. After some thinking and staring at Edric's smile, Emira takes her hand. Alright, let's do it. For old time sakes.
Edric: Come on!
The twins run down the stands with Edric putting his blazer back on they wrap arms around each other on the floor, beginning their dance. They move around, Edric twirls Emira and the twins strike a pose before wrapping their arms around each other and doing another slow dance. Emira tries to enjoy every moment of it, leaning onto her brother as they dance, then opens her eyes.
Emira: You know…one day we're going to have our own families. And we won't see each other that much anymore. I'll sure miss hanging out with you.
Edric: Bold of you to assume someone wants to marry you-
Edric is cut off an when an annoyed Emira stomps on his foot which he lifts up in pain.
Edric: OUCH!
Emira: You were saying?
Edric: Alright, alright. More like you're gonna poison 3 out of your 5 spouses.
Emira: Emira smiles. That sounds about right.
Edric: Or even better, turn them into frogs. Emira laughs at that as they continue. Or maybe a rat, a fly, a moth, a butterfly or-
Emira: Okay, Ed. I get it. She laughs a little more then looks down with another smile. Uh…Ed, thank you…for doing this with me. You always find a way to cheer me and up make me laugh. Edric smiles. I honestly don't know what I'd do without you. I'm glad to have you as my brother.
Edric: Hey, don't mention. I mean, you're my sister after all and there's nothing I wouldn't do for you.
Emira: Emira feels her heart melt from that. That's sweet. Thanks, Ed.
Edric: Edric gives a teasing smile. So…is being stuck with me forever still your worst nightmare?
Emira: Mmm… She slyly smiles. I'd put it at top 20 on my lists of worst nightmares.
Edric: Meh. Works for me.
The Blight Twins share a laugh and a for a brief moment we see them as toddlers, sharing a dance in their living room.
Luke enters his room with a sigh, tossing his hat to the table where his goggles are and drops his guitar in the open chest which he walks past. He opens the window and sits on the windowsill, looking out in the cloudy night sky with a somber look. Once again, he's just had one of the greatest nights of his life. He may have almost died but it all turned out great in the end, he and Amity saved the Boiling Isles, the two shared a beautiful dance and he had a blast with his friends at the after party. Still…his mind can't help but wonder what it was that happened when he fought Grom. He's no ordinary human, that's for sure. The power he displayed was not human.
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep OST - Destiny's Union
Luke once again takes out his amulet, giving a deep look and wondering if what he did has something to do with his family heritage. Could it have something to do with his birth parents? He never considered such things since he was happy with the parents he had grown up with. But after everything that happened, he can't help but wonder…
Luke: I never cared before…but after I tonight, I wonder…who were my parents? Where did I come from? How did I end up in a forest all those years ago? And more importantly…who am I? He clutches his amulet, looking out into the sky again. Or maybe I should be asking…what am I?
He's taken out of his thoughts when his phone vibrates. He turns it on to find two texts from his mom:
Camilla: How was your day? ❤, Mamá!"
"Miss you mijo ".
Luke: Hmm.
Luke types away, sending a message to his mother.
Luke: "Miss you too, Mami".
He sends it, then types more while narrating his words to his mother.
Luke: I won't lie. Today was rough. And I mean, really rough.
As Luke narrates, we see shots of what his friends were up to. Willow and Gus were poking some remnants of Grom. For Willow, a ladybug pops out, and she jumps back in fear. When Gus pokes it, a clown pops out. He runs away, screaming.
Luke: And I don't always feel like I'm supposed to be here.
Edric and Emira were continuing to dance, enjoying the night together and one of their best sibling moments. After a while, Edric dips Emira and the twins share sly smiles, followed up by laughter.
At her manor, Amity is sitting in her window, looking out of it like Luke is. And just like Luke she thinks everything over with a sad look. She opens a memory box she has in her lap.
Luke: But when things get tough, my friends help me out.
Amity puts her tiara in the box and closes it before leaning against the window frame and looking out into the stars.
In the Owl House living room, Eda is snoring on the couch. King jumps up and lays on her stomach, falling asleep.
Luke: I think you'd like them.
Eda wakes up and looks at King. She smiles, puts a hand on his back and closes her eyes again.
We go back to Luke sitting in his windowsill, smiling.
Luke: Te extraño también, Mami. One day, I'll tell you all about this.
And with that, he sends his message. The wind howls, blowing clouds away from the moon, allowing Luke to see it and the stars shining as he looks out into the sea, smiling. He receives another text from her mom. It reads:
Camilla: Can't wait! P.S. love receiving your letters!
Luke: Letters? Weird way to say "text", but, meh. Who am I to judge?
He puts her phone down and looks out at the moon again, feeling good. He's looking forward to telling his mother where he's really been.
…
Scenes shift to Luke's House in the Human World where Camila is lying in bed, smiling at her phone after receiving the text from her son. She turns it off and puts it on her nightstand, next to a pile of actual letters. Camila turns and goes to sleep.
The top letters read:
"Hi, Mom! I am having a great time at camp. Today we learned what mortgages are! I can't wait to get home and see you. Let's do lots of fun mother/son activities forever and ever.
Love, Your SON, LUKE".
Now this is a big mystery, how could Camilla be receiving letters from Luke like this when he's not even in summer camp? Who could possibly be writing to her?
A photo album titled "Grom Memories" opens up. It flips through pictures of the night:
A photo of Cat and the pufferfish student posing awkwardly, trying not to touch.
Skara and her date pushing the couple out of the way.
That's followed with the two of them presenting their Grom Jersey.
The next photo is of Boscha, Bo, and Selene posing.
The three of them make silly faces together.
Mattholomule photobombs the girls, making them angry.
Boscha, Bo and Selene grab a terrified Mattholomule, proceeding to beat him up.
Edric, Emira, Viney, Jerbo and Barcus smile for the camera, Edric and Emira with their arms wrapped around each other while doing a bunny prank on each other, Jerbo was bent down with his arm wrapped around Viney as she leaned her head on him, giving a peace sign and Jerbo had jumped on both their shoulders, howling in celebration.
The next is of Luke posing in his Grom outfit, tipping his fedora towards the camera with a grin and wink.
He looks over at something.
Only his shoe is in frame as he proceeds to drag someone into the photo.
The final photo is of Luke with his arm around a blushing Amity who smiles with him as he holds up two fingers in the air, Willow throwing peace signs next to them, Gus posing with his microphone behind them.
The book closes. The Snaggleback is still hanging from the gym ceiling. He is holding the album.
Snaggleback: Wow. What a night. Now, can someone let me down? The lights shut off. Anyone…?

This was one of the most eventful nights in our heroes' lives.
Luke has faced his fears and unlocked a power that is not human. And we've learned some things about his past.
Amity has officially formed a crush on our goggle-headed hero.
From everything she's watched, Eda has figured something out about Luke? But what is it? And why does she have a duplicate of Luke's amulet?
Where did Luke come from? And who are his parents? And why does he possess such powers?
And who the heck's been writing to Camila in Luke's place if he's in the Demon Realm!?
This is a night Luke won't ever forget but it's raised some questions. Ones that will receive answers someday.
Coming up next, it's Grudgby Season, Boscha's favourite time of the year, where her ego is as big as a certain planet with the same name. Willow's increasing popularity and confidence has unfortunately attracted Boscha's merciless attention as the triclops is determined to make Willow as miserable as possible. Fortunately, Luke has Willow's back and does everything in his power to defend his sister-in-arms. And that leads to Luke challenging Boscha to…a Grudgby match!
It's going to be Team Luke vs Team Boscha! Who will win?

Luke's transformation is known as Pre-Devil Trigger. Yes, it's a type of Devil Trigger like in Devil May Cry games but different for good reasons. And there's a reason why Luke has this power which you'll find out in Season 2.
I am REALLY going to enjoy the next episode. It was my FAVOURITE to do. I am going to make Boscha suffer as much as possible for "Wing it Like Witches" and humiliate her so badly.
