Despite being what could be considered functionally mute (possibly actually mute), the Devil-Doll known, as of the forming of her Contract with Hallii, as Ranni proved herself to be quite the chatterbox. Often popping up in the Realm of Chaos on her own accord and power to 'chat' with either her Contracted or the other two Umbra Witches, usually at a size comparable to a rather small porcelain doll (about 3 decimeters tall (plus about 5 to 6 additional centimeters if one counted Ranni's pointed Witch's hat to her height)). The sight of Hallii studying Enochian, both the normal kind (how to read, understand and speak the language) and the 'Four-handed variant of the Enochian Sign-Language', with Ranni sitting in either Hallii's lap or on top of something (usually a stack of books, a rather thick book or a box) was a rather strange sight that rather quickly became a common one amongst the three Umbra Witches.
Something that Hallii seemed to have inherited from her Contractor was a rather strong sense of vanity, a weird pale bluish shimmer of sorts in her pale silvery gray eyes, reminiscent of Ranni's own pale blue eye (and presumably the Devil-Doll's other two eyes (only presumably as the Devil-Doll had not been seen with them open, only closed)), and a need to keep her things clean and organized. Evidenced by the young Umbran Apprentice in question cleaning up her Umbran Watch to the point where it was in practically brand new condition with almost extreme vigor. Due to the apartment building being conveniently located right next to The Gates of Hell, the two fully fledged Umbra Witches considered it a good opportunity for Hallii to meet the person who had given both Bayonetta and Rosa with their respective weapons and who occasionally provided them with information regarding Umbran Artifacts, Rodin. That and the possibility of getting Hallii her own weapon. Based on Hallii's body-type (even if she was young) and inherited quirks from Ranni, Hallii was rather unlikely to show proficiency with (and probably willingness to use) weapons that required significant amounts of strength and brutality, like a rocket launcher, hammer or greatsword for example. Therefore being likely to favor and show proficiency with (and probably more willing to use) a weapon of dexterity, efficiency and elegance, like a spear, dagger or lighter sword. Though considering how… unusual the weapons Umbra Witches had wielded (and arguably still are) in the past, it wouldn't really surprise the adult Umbra Witches if Hallii's weapon ended up being an unusual or straight up weird one.
During the rather brief period of time that the three Umbra Witches spent walking across the street before entering the shady bar known as The Gates of Hell, nothing of particular significance occurred, outside of Bayonetta getting briefly distracted by a surprisingly (given the neighborhood) shiny bottle cap lying on the ground but thankfully not really struggling to push down the very slight urge to pick it up and take the bottle cap. Entering the bar itself, the three Umbra Witches were greeted by the sight of Rodin doing something by the counter, appearing to be working on installing… a… new gaming console(?), still a relatively old one but more modern than what he had installed before. When the bartender finally noticed that he wasn't alone in the bar anymore, it wasn't easy to see but Rodin appeared to do an eye take at the sight of his guests (particularly Hallii), not that it was noticeable behind his sunglasses.
"Bonjour Rodin." Greeted Bayonetta rather cheerfully, either not noticing or simply ignoring Rodin's apparent eye take.
"Hello to you two Bayonetta, Rosa." Answered Rodin professionally. "Who's the newcomer? A bit young to be entering this kind of establishment under normal circumstances."
"Name's Hallii. And this is Ranni. My Contractor." Stated Hallii as her Contractor summoned herself into the Realm of Chaos at a rather small size on top of Hallii's head, sitting cross legged with two of Ranni's hands forming a triangle in front of the Devil-Doll while the other two were grabbing a hold of Hallii's hair in order to prevent herself from falling off Hallii's head.
"Been quite a while since the last time I saw a Devil-Doll. Newly Contracted Witch?"
"That she is, Rodin. And she's in need of a weapon. Mamon and I think something light and elegant should fit her."
"Light and elegant huh? That gives me some guidelines. I'll go check my inventory for something within those parameters. I'll be back." Stated Rodin, playfully deepening his already rather deep voice as he disappeared into a dark room behind the counter.
"…"
"…"
"Fifty Halos says he'll come back with a weird weapon." Wagered Bayonetta with a curious expression on her face.
"One hundred says he'll come back with a basic and practical weapon that fits Hallii and Ranni perfectly." Replied Rosa, throwing in her own wager.
"I'll take that bet, Mamon."
"I just hope that he doesn't return with anything stupid, bizarre, barbaric or stupid, bizarre and barbaric." Stated Hallii, who got a nod of agreement from the Devil-Doll sitting on her head.
"Oh please. It's Rodin. He always delivers. Beit weapons or information."
"I'll believe that when I see it."
"I'll have you know, la fille, that the summoning of various instruments of torture and execution are a common practice and occurrence in combat for an Umbra Witch." Stated Rosa, who sounded more than a bit annoyed, referring to what Bayonetta called Torture Attacks for relative shortness, or as they were properly called, Torturous Executions.
"Oh? That's interesting, but have you ever done anything really… creative with your Contractors to finish off an opponent?"
"What do you mean?" Bayonetta couldn't help but ask, even if she had a very rough idea of what Hallii was talking about.
"Finishing off your opponent with style together with your Contractor while at the same time adding a very salty insult to injury." While Hallii couldn't see it, due to Ranni sitting on top of her Contracted Witch's head, the Devil-Doll was tilting her head in intrigue, seemingly for both herself and on Hallii's behalf. The only thing keeping the Devil-Doll's witch's hat from falling off Ranni's head being that she was quick enough to grab a hold of it with one of her hands that were occupied keeping her from falling off Hallii's head.
"Oh. Well… there was that one time when Stolas and I electrocuted an Inspired-"
"Inspired?"
"A species of snake-like Angels."
"Ah."
"Anyway. As I was saying earlier, Stolas and I electrocuted an Inspired after practically soaking it in oil to the point where it could be considered seriously deep fried… before Stolas decided to eat it, comment that it was apparently delicious and ask if he could have another one."
"Sounds impressive. Did he get another one?"
"No. But that's not because of any reluctance on my part, we just haven't been able to get the right circumstances to replicate the results."
"That's… a pity, I suppose." Commented Hallii as Rodin came back from the apparent storage room behind The Gates of Hell's counter with an unusual sword in his hands. More specifically, a rapier with a special hilt and cross-guard that reminded the three Umbra Witches of a revolver's signature six-slot chamber. "Impressive."
"Thank you. I took the ques from a… colorful web series when I made this." Stated Rodin quite proudly. "Just needs to be Infused with the Essence of the right Infernal to be truly complete and I believe that you and your Contractor are the ones this was meant for."
Sliding off of Hallii's head and onto the young girl's shoulder, Ranni made a gesture that signaled the Devil-Doll's Contracted Witch to stretch her arm out and grab a hold of the counter, prompting Ranni to walk across Hallii's arm and onto The Gates of Hell's counter. After walking a few times around the rapier, inspecting it from various angles, Ranni nodded in approval and started forming a moonlight blue orb the size of a small rubber ball in all four of the Devil-Doll's hands. An orb of Ranni's Essence, ready to Infuse the rapier with her power, turning a weapon of high quality but ultimately ordinary steel into a weapon fit for her Contracted Witch. However the Devil-Doll seemed to want to have a little fun and, rather cheekily, held the orb behind her to the side for a few seconds before launching the orb into the rapier. It lit up and was completely enveloped in moonlight blue light, prompting everyone present to cover their eyes in some manner. When the light eventually died down, the rapier was changed significantly. The most noticeable changes were the revolver-style chamber in the cross guard and the blade. What had been the revolver-style chamber was now a hexagonal piece of metal that had a total of six differently colored gems on each side. Each gem seemed to contain a miniature storm of a different element in the apparent order of Lightning, Wind, Water, Fire, Ice and finally Magic, the last one being the 'chambered' slot. Whereas the blade of the rapier had been made completely out of steel, the new blade appeared to be made of some kind of crystalline material, which was apparently very magically conductive as it was pulsing with moonlight blue magical energy.
"It's beautiful." Bayonetta couldn't help but slip out, earning various forms of agreement from the others and a rather smug expression from Ranni.
"And it's fully functional in combat. Which is what it was made for. Go ahead, pick it up and give it a few swings." Replied Rodin, which prompted the intended wielder of the weapon to do so.
"Don't mind if I do!" Replied Hallii who performed a few slashes and a few thrusts before finally testing and confirming something that they expected to happen. Rotating the 'chamber' and slotting Lightning as the 'chambered' element, which caused the blade to start emitting sparks and crackles of lightning. "Nice."
"Now there's only one thing left, giving it a name. Care to do the honors, Hallii?"
"Glady. I think I'll name it… Final Merci."
