Chapter eleven:
After classes Josephine joins them all as they end up going to Kyouya's place to talk.
Josephine is actually pretty chill and kind as she makes pleasant small talk with them. She slightly leans forward on the table that they are all sitting at with some nice tea that the servants brought over. "So. Let us talk. I can already tell that you are hoping to make some adjustments on the deal."
"Well after I found out it was them making Kaoru do all that I left them. I no longer want to associate with them. And I want to make things right with Kaoru." Hikaru admits and Josephine hums in understanding.
"Trust me. I understand where you are coming from. But the whole thing can't really be changed too much. Because Kaoru was bit his vampire state instinctually knows that it is a part of our group. So either way he is kind of stuck being a part of us. Though I made sure he had a lot of time to think over his choice and in the end he agreed." Josephine points out and Kyouya speaks up this time.
"We understand. Perhaps we can find a middle ground though. Something that will work for both sides." Kyouya adjusts the glasses on his face.
"I am willing to try to figure out something. I don't want to truly tear Kaoru away from those that he wants in his life. No matter how the vampire contract works so to speak. But only if Kaoru wants you in his life." Josephine smiles as she tells them this. She gets a confirmation from Kaoru so she continues talking. "I may have an idea that may work for everyone." She has everyone listening to what she has to say about this. "Here is my proposal. Since Hikaru you want to stay away from that family you were born into then you and Kaoru could live in a place that our group owns. Though it is more of an emergency housing. It isn't too grand but plenty big and there will be a few workers that we can let work there to help you two out. Kaoru will continue to go to school as normal as much as he wants. You two will be dropped off in one of our limos. There is a catch. You Hikaru will not be included in some of our groups stuff due to you not being a vampire. Not even Kaoru will be allowed to tell you some things about the group activities. That is the condition you will have to follow. Oh I can even offer you both a new last name. One that will still mean something but not be associated with your previous family."
"I am willing to accept that." Hikaru agrees to this. "Thank you. I am glad that I can still be with Kaoru like mostly normal."
"Great. Then go ahead and pack. We will leave whenever you wish." Josephine sips at the tea. "Kyouya. You must tell me where your family gets this tea. It is exquisite."
"Sure. Why don't we talk for a bit while Hikaru prepares himself?" Kyouya agrees clearly curious about what can be shared about this vampire groups business.
"Alright." Josephine agrees. "oh and Hikaru I will share the name you can take. We can even legally change it. Just while we are heading to the location."
Hikaru nods in understanding to this and gets up to his feet.
Kaoru follows Hikaru after getting a request tug for him to do so. He enters the room that Hikaru has been staying in.
"I brought some of your stuff too." Hikaru shows Kaoru and Kaoru smiles softly as it is all that he would want to bring.
"It's perfect. Thank you." Kaoru is quite grateful.
Hikaru continues working on packing up everything. "So. Now that we aren't associated with you know who, we can pick out our own futures. To an extent I guess." He brings up and Kaoru hums in agreement. "And Kaoru I really am sorry for how I treated you there. I wish you could have just told me what was going on."
"It's alright Hikaru. I never blamed you for anything." Kaoru assures his brother and the two share a smile. "And I have an idea if you want to hear for what we can do."
"Go ahead." Hikaru agrees pausing in his gathering.
"Remember when we were kids and we made those bracelets?" Kaoru picks it up from a bag of some old keepsakes.
It has gold hoops put together to make a bracelet kid sized.
"Yeah! I kept mine!" Hikaru grabs his own which matches Kaoru's.
"What if we make jewelry? I can use my connections with the group to help us market it." Kaoru suggests to Hikaru.
Hikaru's eyes shine at the idea. "That's a great idea! We can make designs then we can get them produced." He grins wider as Kaoru nods his head. "Perfect. I like it. We will do it together."
"Together." Kaoru nods his head and the two give each other affection bumps on the forehead.
"I'll just have to get used to you being a little cooler in temperature that I have always known. Though that is something that I am willing to get used to it." Hikaru tells Kaoru with a cheerful voice.
Kaoru rolls his eyes while Hikaru chuckles. He smiles as Hikaru goes back to focusing on packing his stuff. "Hikaru?"
"Yeah?"
"I wanna tell you something." Kaoru admits and Hikaru turns to him with a curious pause.
"Go ahead."
"I kind of may kind of started seeing Josephine as like a replacement mother." Kaoru admits looking away in embarrassment.
"Good to know that it is how you feel." Josephine's voice makes Kaoru jump then spin around wide eyed. She chuckles and approaches putting an arm around him. "It's fine. I wanted my own children and I would be happy to adopt you both. I know your parents will agree. We can work that out." She promises. "The last name is actually one that I use as well. So it works out. Hinata."
"I like it." The twins say in unison then glance to each other before smiling.
"Great! Then I will live with you two as well. I don't mind moving to that location at all." Josephine ruffles Kaoru's getting a playful bat from him making her chuckle. "Whatever you two decide you will do with your lives, with Kaoru still having his group duties, we will support you both. I just came up here for a moment while Kyouya took an important phone call in another room. From someone who I think he likes."
"Oh you mean Tamaki." Hikaru hums in response. "Yeah I think that they are going to find a way to marry. We all support them."
"Well glad to hear this." Josephine nods and turns to head back to the room when Kaoru asks her to wait.
"We already have an idea of what we want to do. We want to design jewelry." Kaoru explains and Josephine smiles with a nod.
"Then we will get all the connections in order. You two can start whenever you want." Josephine heads away after that and the twins feel happy to hear this.
Kaoru knows that he will have to do whatever the group wants him to do. But at least there is a part that he can do what he wants.
Later they are at the new living place.
The place is a smaller mansion with less staff than what the twins are used to though that is fine with them.
The twins have their own rooms so they can decide if they want to share a bed or not.
Josephines room is just down the hall from them.
The mansion even has an outdoor pool where they can hang out if they want. It almost has the look of just a really big normal house just definitely a mansion anyone can tell at first glance.
The room has dull white colored walls, light grey soft carpet, a large bed, walk in closet, big bathroom, and some wood dressers with carved decorations on it. It leaves the two plenty of space to decorate and make the two rooms their own though they'll probably stick to sharing the one room.
The twins couldn't be happier with how everything is turning out in their lives.
…. Years later…
Twenty five year old Kaoru blinks awake finding Hikaru is still asleep next to him.
Their haircut hasn't changed much other than gotten slightly longer just slightly though, mainly their bangs so its longer but doesn't obstruct their vision.
Luckily Hikaru hasn't changed much so they still look like twins, plus they can try to brush off how Kaoru will eventually look younger than Hikaru as that they just are aging differently. Though there is not likely really going to be questions about it since they mainly work with those that know about the different situation; Plus Hikaru is the face of the company with Kaoru staying more in the shadows from the public thus there isn't questions about Kaoru not aging.
Kaoru shifts to sit up and stretches his arms above his head. He turns after finishing his stretch as Hikaru starts to wake up. "Good morning." He greets with a smile that Hikaru returns.
"Good morning." Hikaru greets back and sits up.
The transition to using the last name Hinata has gone really well with the cover story that their last names are changing since their parents saw talent in one area, thus wished for them to be able pursue it by becoming the family of a family friend. No one questioned it after that and luckily their old parents who they still wish to have no contact with seemed to understand.
The Hitachiin family actually has a fifteen year old who is being raised to take over the family business, her name is Athena Hitachiin and from rumors it seems that things are going well.
The twins just never really bothered to check out who their old parents gave birth to. They don't want anything to do with that family so as long as they don't repeat things then it is whatever to them; the Hitachiin family is being watched by the group Kaoru and Josephine are a part of to ensure that they won't make Athena do anything she doesn't want so no worries there.
"I should be able to finish the idea for some of those Pride bracelets. Pride month is coming up after all. Our Pride sales will be boosted." Kaoru suggests to which Hikaru nods his head.
"Yeah. It'll be good. Plus if they like it then we may get some new customers." Hikaru agrees as the two get up to get ready for the day. "I'll work on some of the ideas for those new necklaces and rings. I am so using that turtle ring idea of yours."
"Feel free." Kaoru nudges Hikaru playfully as he knows that indeed Hikaru doesn't need to hear it. He is glad that he found a pretty good balance of his vampire duties and his jewellery business with Hikaru.
After getting dressed the two head out and a servant comes over to them bowed.
"Masters? You got an invitation from your friends Kyouya and Tamaki. Who wish to invite you to their wedding."
"So its finally happening." Kaoru lets out a breath as he is glad to hear this. He knows that only Kyouya knows he is a vampire however it doesn't affect his friendship with the others. "Let them know that we are more than happy to go to their wedding." He knows that things became easier for the two when Tamaki's Grandmother finally passed and their fathers were content to see the two happy.
The servant nods her head then heads off to do as told.
Kaoru and Hikaru glance to each other already having an idea of a perfect gift for their friends wedding. They have been working on the design for awhile in anticipation for this moment.
Tamaki even shared how they even are thinking of ways to have children together as he was super excited.
The twins have been designing special rings for their friends that will be matching rings with a small heart with their first name initials on either side. They think that it'd be a great gift and they'll even add a necklace chain for them if they want to wear the rings around their necks.
"They're going to love it." Kaoru agrees. "By the way do you think that we should go through with the adoption idea? I mean neither of us currently have any idea on getting married yet."
"I think it is still a great idea." Hikaru confirms. "And I know just the place. An orphanage that is called Koi Orphanage. They make sure that their orphans get a good education. I got a favor for information on the best place for us and that's what came up."
Kaoru nods his head in agreement to the idea. "Sounds great. We'll plan a time to go there."
"Am I allowed to come?" Josephine jokes putting her arms around her adopted sons. "I am kidding." She chuckles. She is still living at the mansion with the twins who don't mind at all. She allows Kaoru to be able to handle his vampire group business easier by living with them, plus the two are really happy to have her as a mother figure as she feels more like a family member than their old parents ever were. "Just let me know when you two want to go. You can get as many kids as you want. Just please let me set up their rooms." She requests. "For my grandchildren."
Kaoru and Hikaru grin at her. "You took the words right out of our mouths." They tell her and Josephine lets out an excited sound at hearing this.
Yes. Everything is truly going great in their lives.
The end.
AN:
Sorry for putting the ending here if any of you wanted more. I kind of thought about the other ideas for the story that I had with this and decided that it would make this story drag on. Plus I didn't really like some of the ideas anymore making a lot be thrown out of the window like Josephine and Kaoru starting to date. I threw that one out because it didn't feel right for either of them for quite a few reasons. The mother son felt better to me. That is one of the things if you were curious. So anyways the ending is here!
I hope that you all enjoyed reading! And I want to thank you all for reading!
Kaoru.
