The Wall[][[][
Hours of meaningless talk had left him tired truth be told none of it had been meaningless, he had managed to secure the traditions of the watch including the worship of the old gods and new gods alike, as well as ensuring that any wrongdoer would be brought into the Night Watches numbers.
Everything that had been discussed was of vital importance, so much so that the raven that he was now sending to Winterfell explained everything to the lord of the North.
The Players and their houses or perhaps he should start referring to them as they called themselves Guilds had begun to consider moving south, but he managed to stop them, when he reminded them that the Freefolk were still doing whatever they wanted within the mountain.
It was all so important but after hours of talk, it all seemed meaningless.
Again the sounds of children playing reached his ears.
This time as he stepped into the field where the sisters and guards watched over the kids he couldn't help but smile.
There were so many children now, that entire houses or settlements could be created.
The orphans that played in front of him were a mixture of highborn Players and small folk who had nothing to them, not even names and yet they were being watched carefully by the sisters and the guards.
A boy and a girl ran passed him, their armors glittering with the light of the sun, It pained him to see them here, this was no place for children and yet they were here to stay.
'Get the kids inside!" one of the guards screams as the knights\ players run to strengthen the defenses, but instead of facing the north, they are gathering on the wrong side.
No, he reminded himself, this wasn't the wrong side anymore, The wall was what it was always meant to be, a border between realms.
The hot breath of the red dragon blew around him as the beast tried to make itself as small as possible so that no one on the other side could see it.
Yet the creature had positioned itself in such a way, that if it needed to use its fire breath it could do so without causing much harm to its surroundings.
"I want to speak to whoever is in charge!" a familiar voice says.
'This wall now belongs to us, Say what you have to say and we will decide if you can speak to us directly!" one of the guards answers.
"I have come on behalf of the Lands of the North to secure peace!" the voice of Rickard Stark says to the guard.
"Peace! Is that why you bring an army with you!?" the guard says to Rickard as several of the Guild Leaders begin to walk towards the main gate.
"Open the doors." Heathcliff orders the guards before the three of the other lords signal to the dragon riders who immediately begin to circle the army that is just on the other side of the wall.
'Okay, what do you want?" Thinker asks Rickard who worriedly looks at the dragons who are prepared to burn him and his men.
"I am here to hear your demands on behalf of the throne," Rickard says to all of the lords and kings who begin to look at each other, their confusion on full display.
"When were we at war with you?" Heathcliff asks Rickard who looks at Heathcliff and realizes that the men before didn't even know that the seven kingdoms existed.
"Lord Commander, please inform this man of everything that we talked about earlier." Heathcliff says to him before he walks toward his old friend.
"Lord Stark I wish we could meet at better times, but I am afraid that the Players." he signaled to the army around him.
"Don't have any intention to move beyond this point." he says to Rickard who looks at him with eyes that are searching for any signs of trickery or double meaning.
'So what do they want?" Rickard asks him.
"To be honest Lord Stark, that no one from your side crosses over to their side."
'By the agreement that we of the Night's Watch have made with them, we are the only ones who are allowed to enter the southern side of the wall, and only to see our families or pick up recruits for the watch." he says to Rickard.
"And yet their dragons fly on our side of the wall," Rickard says to him.
"How about this, You stay on your side and we stay on our side."
"The wall belongs to us, but these guys keep doing what they always did," Poh says to Rickard with the most disrespectful tone he can make.
No one said or did anything as Rickard turned and walked away, they watched as he and his men either rode their horses or marched back from where they came.
'That's it? they're just giving up?" Thinker asks everyone despite not expecting an answer.
'They aren't fools, they know that if they attack your dragons will kill them in an instant and their deaths will be meaningless.' he says to Thinker who exhales and walks back inside.
He can only hope that Rickard and the men of the north receive his letter before anything else happens.
It had taken three years for help to arrive, that thought alone made him laugh, help had never come, the army that was quickly disappearing only came here to check on the situation.
Still, the men of the north and the men beyond the wall now had to learn to live with each other.
