A/N: Hey Guys! I rarely post in this account but I wanted to have a go at making my very own mystery dungeon story. I'm a complete noob when it comes to writing so I still have much to learn. I would greatly appreciate it if you can give me pointers on how to improve. Anyways, this is my take on a mystery dungeon fanfic is Isekai elements. It is loosely based on the concept of the anime Ascendance of a book worm where our hero uses his knowledge to introduce technology and concept from his world to the Poké world.
Enjoy :3

Reincarnation. The process of being reborn after death. That is the only explanation I could come up with.
From what I've read, reincarnated people tend to forget their past lives when they are reborn. Some may even remember bits and pieces of their previous life but it will fade away eventually .
For some reason, I had retained all of my memories and knowledge I had during my previous life. Even my personality is intact and I think I won't forget them anytime soon.
My name is Adrian or rather, was Adrian. I got into an accident and unfortunately died. All I could feel was darkness but then I saw light.
I was crying. My vision was blurry. 2 figures stood in front of me. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I was finally able recognize them. In front of me were two Pokémon, a Cinderace and a Typhlosion, they were smiling and the Typhlosion all giddy and couldn't contain his excitement.
Cinderace picked me up and hugged me. "There there little one. We are here for you. No need to cry" Cinderace said. Definitely a female. "My child, I will always be here for you" She added. Her sweet voice seemed to have calmed me down.
But inside my mind I was screaming. My mind cannot comprehend what was happening right now. A talking Pokémon? That's impossible! I wanted to run but I couldn't. My body seems to have a mind on its own. I can't command it for some reason.
I had no choice but to accept what was happening. If I deny everything that is happening right now, my emotions would get the better of me. With this mind set I was able to regain my composure and began to assess the situation.
I came up with multiple theories but only one actually made sense. I had been reborn. Reborn as a Pokémon in a world foreign to me.I may not understand how this world works but I will in due time.
I was given a second chance and I have to accept it. Let's just hope Life won't bite me in the ass this time around.
Two years have passed since then. I got better at controlling my body to some extent. It was hard to relay commands from my brain to my body. But if I had to guess, it's probably because my body was still developing.
This new family of mine. They're pretty wholesome. From what I could gather, we live a pretty simple life. Our house is pretty basic but decent enough to keep us safe when the weather turns awry.
Mom just stays at home and does house work. She was really gentle and kind and seems to be well liked by our neighbors.
Dad is carefree and is somewhat over dramatic. He's absent minded at times he also put us as his first priority. A very good family man...or mon if you will.
Another year passed. It was my first time going outside our house. My mom took me to the market place to buy some berries. It seems that in this world, Pokémon were the dominant race. It is as if humans never existed at all. They were able to form a civilization and even managed to show early signs of technological advancement.
It was like living in the medieval ages. They even use money as currency. They called it Poké. A coin that had the letter P engraved on it, albeit crudely. Judging by the material, it must be made of gold. I guess gold is valuable no matter what world you are in.
Mom stopped by Dad's work place afterwards. Dad greeted us with affection as usual. There was a Bisharp beside him. He must be Dad's work partner. He mentioned him a few times but as to what they do I totally have no idea, that is until today.
Apparently Dad worked at the forge. He was in charge of producing fire as well as acting as a thermometer of sorts. Bisharp on the other hand is the one that forges the metal and inspects their quality. I guess that makes sense. After all Pokémons do have heightened sense than that of humans. It's a clever way to use them without the need for battle.
As the adults were busy with their conversation, my attention shifted to the neighboring building. By the looks of it I already knew what it was. My heart pounded heavily as I felt excitement. I rushed into the area without letting my parents know.
I went inside and I could smell the wood. This is indeed a wood workshop. I love woodworking. I was in fact a professional woodworker prior to my rebirth. It started out as just a job to support my previous family but it grew on me. And in a short period of time I became very good at it.
"You like it kid?" A Gurdurr said. He must've noticed me sneak in. I would have said yes but I still can't command my mouth to move the way I wanted them to, so the next logical thing to do was to nod as quickly as possible.
"Heh. A fire type that loves wood? Your not one of those pyromaniacs now are you?" He chuckled, clearly amused by the way I was acting. "Wait a minute..." Gurdurr squinted his eyes and closely inspected my face. Our faces were just inches away from each other which made me uncomfortable.
"A Scorbunny? Don't tell me your Typhlosion's and Cinerace's kid!?" Gurdurr laughed, clearly amused at what he's seeing right now.
He called his work partners and introduced me to them. Machoke and Marrowak introduced themselves to me and kept me company for a while. They explained to me some of the work they do which I listened attentively.
"Ah! There you are! You had us worried sick!" I turned to the location of the voice and saw both my parents running towards me. Oops... I nearly forgot about them.
"I'm sorry for the trouble he caused you Gurds" Said Dad. "Not to worry Typhlosion! The scamp was just admiring the workshop. He seems interested enough to listen to us babble about our jobs." Gurdurr responded clearly happy that I took time to listen to what they said. There were a few chit chats that followed after and with all of the commotion sorted out, Mom and I bid our farewell and went home.
Evening came and Dad arrived back from his work. Dad was as lively as ever telling stories of how great his day was today. Some of it were obviously exaggerated but none the less amusing. Mom and I had a good laugh. Dad was great at telling stories no matter how convoluted they sound.
My body was pretty much done today. My Mom carried me to my bed and kissed me good night.
"Don't you ever wonder around without telling us ever again! We don't know what we'd do if we lose you." She said in a soft gentle voice watching me as I slowly fell asleep.
