A Japanese Weresheep in Mutsuba Town

Summary:

There are some forms of alien activity even MIK turns a blind eye to. The truly alien activity between Chupataro and Ohdo Yuhi, for instance.

Chapter 72: Card Games on Scooters

"A Riding Rush Duel, chupa?"

"Yep. I'll duel you on my hoverboard. You duel me on your scooter." Yuhi put Chupataro's helmet in his hands. "There's a new card in my Deck I want to try out!"

"If it's your Maximum, Chupa already saw it, cabra."

"I thought ya went to get your robot!"

"Chupa was, chupa. Until Chupa saw you were picking on a total beginner, chupapapa!"

"Shut up! Epoch's Rush Battler chose me!"

"A likely story, chupa!"

"It did! Anyway, it isn't my Maximum I wanna test drive!"

"Our Rush Battlers aren't reacting, chupa. It wouldn't be an official Galaxy Cup Rush Du –" Chupataro removed his Rush Battler from his pocket, just as it and Yuhi's Rush Battler began shining. "Chu? Okay, maybe they are, chupa…"

"Wo-ho-ho! A Rush Duel between Yuhi and Chupataro! Super fun~!" Damamu got the drop on them with a much larger camera than the video camera Ranran approved before.

"You heard it here first, folks! Ohdo Yuhi and Kaburagi Chupataro are having a Riding Rush Duel, de gojaru!"

"A Duel between boyfriends where the entirety of Mutsuba Town is their arena! Has there ever been a display this momentous?" Ranran piggybacked off her co-host's intro.

"A Rush Duel in this here Mutsuba Town! Made possible by Mutsuba Heavy Machinery!" Asaka stressed.

"Made possible by the Galaxy Cup held by MIK!" Phaser added an addendum.

Yuna was noticeably absent to regale the audience with Goha Company's contribution.

"We'll be bringing you everything live from Damamu, our cameraperson in the sky!"

"Epo? Boyfriends, epo?"

"Indeed, Epoch," Yudias enlightened his student. "Yuhi and my beloved comrade Chupataro are boyfriends of two years!"

"Epo-po-po? Then that cameraperson next to Yuhi, epo?"

"That is Damamu. Yuhi's Earthdamar."

"Pu-puku-pu! Like their kid?"

"Like that, yes."

"I don't really understand, but that's an alien, right, epo?"

"No, Epoch. Damamu is not an alien like myself."

"But humans can't FLY, idiot!"

"THREE…TWO…ONE…"

"GO RUSH!"

"My turn! I draw!" Yuhi started them off once they left the starting line at the traffic light. "Maximum Summon!"

"Maximum!" Damamu cheered, overly bubbly in the energy bubble keeping pace behind Yuhi's hoverboard and Chupataro's scooter.

"CHUPA? You had all three Maximum pieces in your opening hand, chupa? How is that even possible in a forty-card Deck? This is getting ridiculous, cabra!"

"I don't wanna hear it, Mr. Sevens Draw! Join and be invincible! Join and become infinite! Join with destiny! It's time to settle this! Mega Jointech Fortrex!" (Level 4 EARTH Machine/Maximum/Effect MAXIMUM ATK 3000) (Level 4 ↑ Level 10)

"Fantastic! Yuhi-san summons a turn-one Maximum, de gojaru!"

"I set two cards! Turn end!"

"Chupa's turn! Draw, cabra! Chupa summons Ewekai Thunderlambda! And release! Capturing the heart of the lonely chupacabra! Shaving the wool around his soul! Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi! Advance Summon, chupa!" (Level 6 LIGHT Beast/Effect ATK 2000 DEF 1200)

"THERE HE IS! Chupataro's backup Ace! Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi!"

"WHO YA CALLIN' BACKUP!"

"Ah~!" Menjaburo hung his head in shame. "My bad, Yuhi-san."

"Chupa sends two cards from the top of Chupa's Deck to the Graveyard to activate Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi's effect!" (ATK 2000 ↑ ATK 2500 ↑ ATK 3000)

"Yes, an explanation is in order!" Ranran directed the spectators' attention to the jumbotron. "Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi was a one-of-a-kind card with both activated and continuous effects! Recently, however, Goha Company has issued errata to this card. Whereas Yuhi had both an activated and continuous effect previously, this has been updated to work more seamlessly within the rules of Rush Duels! Now, Yuhi's second ATK gain of 500 per Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan in the Graveyard until end of turn is only checked after activating his first ATK-gaining effect!"

"Thanks for the heads-up, Miss MIK! I'm sure our viewers appreciate it, de gojaru!"

"No, Chupa's real aim isn't Yuhi's effect! Chupa summons Ewekai Waveschaf, and sends the top card of Chupa's Deck to the Graveyard, gaining 200 Life Points! Then, if Chupa has Beast-Type Normal Monsters with three or more different Attributes in the Graveyard, Chupa can Special Summon Meeeg-chan from the Graveyard, chupa!"

"With Thunderlambda, the Grounmouton that Chupataro sent for Yuhi's effect, and the Pyrowool that Chupataro sent for Waveschaf's effect…He meets the requirements to summon Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan, which was also sent to the Graveyard by Yuhi's effect!"

"Mee~g-chan! Come to Chupa! And Fusion!"

"Fu –?"

"FUSION!" Damamu was even more amped by Fusion than Maximums.

"Chupa never dreamed she would show herself! The apex of all beasts who rules over the Ewekai Ranch! The mememelody of beginnings and ends! Fusion Summon! Neo Queen Sheepfinity!" (Level 9 LIGHT Beast/Fusion/Effect ATK 3000 DEF 2100)

"This is –! Is this Meeeg-chan Black's purified form?" Yudias posited.

"WHY IS IT MODELLED OFF OF MEEEG-CHAN AND NOT ME? I'M FUSION MATERIAL TOO, CHUPATARO!"

"Don't pin this on Chupa! Chupa didn't design the card, chupa! Take it up with Yuna, cabra!"

"What's this? Chupataro and Yuhi-san are bickering like an old married couple, de gojaru!"

"WE'RE NOT MARRIED!"

"Ahh~! S-sorry, de gojaru…"

"Jeez, you're frustrating!" Yuhi demonstrated perhaps where Yuga's tantrums came from. "Trap Card, Jointech –!"

Two Duelists – one riding a red motorbike with a Duel Disk on her dash, and one wearing a jetpack and rocket boots – carved through the road, narrowly clipping Chupataro, but mowing down Yuhi.

"Chu! Yuhi!" Chupataro swerved to catch Yuhi in his seat as Yuhi lost his hoverboard under him, Damamu following the board's epic flip and ultimate end.

"Breaking news!" Makeru bumped into Ranran and Menjaburo while scrambling to reach Miranda. "As we were reporting earlier, a mysterious masked Duelist has appeared and is in hot pursuit of a robotic space ghost!"

"I'll help myself to a shot of your shocked faces!" Miranda zoomed in.

"Another masked Duelist? Is somebody studying up on Manabu?"

"People of Mutsuba Town! Get off the streets! I repeat: Do not get in the way of Rocket-heeled Back Jack and his opponent, the Witch from Mercury!"

"The Witch from Mercury?" Yuhi and Chupataro turned to each other.
