Chapter 55

Author Notes: So...Sen saw my docs manager and threw a fit over the amount of documents. Granted i'm disgusted by the amount I've written in such a short time but still. Either encourage me to keep writing or tell me to stop-dont do both lol.

II swear he is a walking contradiction. Well in either case, there will be plenty of story here for you guys to enjoy at the very least. So let us begin shall we? Chapter 55, I do not own Digimon.

3rd P.O.V

Shinya had no clue what was happening when he found his mother collapse. "Quickly get your shoes Shinya-we need to go." But he couldn't find it in his to ask as he simply nodding. Rushing towards his room.

He found his sneakers neatly rested in front of his bed. But as he raced towards them, he slipped. "Whoa!" His socked feet sent him tumbling backwards onto the ground. His hands managed to somewhat keep him from completely smashing head first into the wooden boards.

But his feet smacked into his dresser next to his bed. He winced as he heard several things he had on the dresser fall. His eyes widen at the sound of something cracking. "Oh no!" Ignoring the tingly sensation he rolled over.

"Crap." He knew immediately what the sound was the moment he saw what exactly clattered. A few of his toys, a plastic trophy he earned at a spelling bee competition he won at school...all items that didn't even have a scratch or dent to them.

It couldn't be said for the picture frame he had of him and his family though. "Please please don't be broken." He carefully picked it up, wincing as he saw a sharp jagged crack make its way through.

The glass actually fractured around his older brother. "This was when we moved here..." His brows furrowed as he took in his sibling's grinning expression. For a split second it looked like his eyes changed color.

A deep crimson. "Shinya!" His body jolted in place as he glanced to his opened doorway. "Coming!" Quickly he snatched his shoes from the side of his bed. The moment he slipped them on he made his way out.

Finding his mother in the kitchen on the phone as she struggled into her jacket. "Meet us there, this is an emergency. Shinya grab my keys please." He does as he was told, his fingers flinched against the cold metal.

"I don't care what your boss has to say! If he has a problem with it-he can talk to me and the doctor!" With way more force than needed she slammed the phone back onto the hook.

Sighing as tears pricked the outskirts of her eyes. "Come on Shinya...we need to go." All he could do was nod as he followed her out the door. The birthday boy handed his mother the keys while they made their way into the car.

It only took a minute for them to get their seatbelts on before the car was turned on. A low rumble reverberated through. His mother sniffled as she started driving. As Shinya glanced up, worried and confused, he saw tears streak down her face from the rearview mirror...

"Slide evolution-Saldomon!" Koichi wasn't sure how Takuya was still able to move, let alone have the energy to digivolve. "Slide evolution-Jagerloweemon!" But he found himself unable to really delve into it as he joined right alongside him.

They could see Zoe doing a similar fluttering dance of dodging overgrown hands as she pressed the attack. JP was trying to back her up by combining his electricity, with her timed strikes. "Howling star!" But their efforts still did nothing compared to Koji's. "Enough of your feeble attempts."

Some streams of fractal code swirled around his hands condensing into one another, forming the shape of a sword. With a malevolent grin he raised the blade high into the air. "What the!?" It literally sliced a tear into the sky.

"Shadows edge!" An unholy hue surrounded the silver weapon that shot out a beam of dark light as Cherubimon brought it down. "Shit!" Saldomon felt a chill spread through him. He stretched his wings immediately and took off.

At incredible speeds, speeds no one, not even himself thought capable, he zoomed past Zoe. "Ominous blaze!" He sent his flames outward. Colliding against his creator's attack. "Grrr how dare you defy me! I made you into what you are."

Dark magic battled against dark flames, but slowly, everyone could see Takuya being pushed back. He tried to stay strong against the onslaught, but he found himself surprised as his friends shouted in all directions.

"Hurricane gale!"

"Lupin laser!

"Electron cannon!"

"Avalanche axes!"

"Ebony blast!"

All of their moves raced right past him, merging with his own fire. "What!?" Cherubimon snarled as he was now on the defensive. His attack fading away until lastly it disappears entirely. Completely swallowing him in the surge of combined elementals.

"GraAaAaAaAaAaaaAAAAA!" Enraged now he spread his arms wide, his yellow eyes narrowed in concentration as the sword floated in front of him. It was just the opportunity Takuya was waiting for.

His wings fanned out as he soared straight for him. His claws extended as he spun, his flames covering his body while he twisted. Cherubimon had tried to hit him with black lightning he summoned, but there was nothing to deter the chimera digimon from his goal.

As he struck through the overly large sword, disintegrating the blade into fractal code that scattered all over, a voice spoke to him in his mind. One that was warm and familiar as his body glowed in a holy light.

'Return to who you are Takuya Kanbara. Use my gift to get back what was lost.'

With Ophanimon's final wish and blessings empower him, Takuya slashed at the fractal code. "NO!" Grinning in triumph as all of the hard work that Cherubimon had forced upon him was ripped to shreds.

Both Kendogarurumon and Jagerloweemon noticed what was happening and followed suit. "Come on!" Their claws dug into Cherubimon and the sword, satisfaction gleamed in their eyes as streams flew off in all matter of directions.

Every time Cherubimon tried to retaliate, Zoe, JP and Tommy hit him, stunning him long enough for their three friends to get out of his reach. "DaMn YoU!" No one was prepared when those twisted yellow eyes flashed, summoning a wave of shadows that swept across both land and sky for multiple miles.

"Look out!" All within its vicinity was nailed with the malicious energy. "Ahhhhhhhh!" The group of opposing warriors were no exception as the force propelled them in various directions...just like the fractal code they had released.

They all reverted back into their human forms. Even Takuya...who fell from the black and white sky. Though exhaustion clung to his soul, he was still awake and well aware of his current problem. In a last ditch effort of survival, he stretched his gloved hands to the quickly approaching ground.

He called forth his tainted flames. A shout of pain coursed through him, but he saw orange and purple formed at his command. Protecting him from full on impact with the ground. Still he fell painfully, a loud crack reverberating from his body when he landed onto his stomach.

A groan escaped his lips as he tried to move. His shivering arms planted in front of him. "D-damn it!" Takuya jerked his head up, his eyes caught the twins not too far away doing the same thing. Seeing their struggle encouraged him to push himself up.

"Koji! Koichi!" Before he could get a response from either of them, they were engulfed in another dark wave. Takuya curled in on himself, unable to do much else as Wisps of darkness slapped him across the dirt.

Closer to the now unconscious brothers. "Guys...don't give up." He didn't have much left in him, but despite this he crawled. Ignoring the pain and the way he shuddered as a tingly sensation overtook him.

He could feel static from the lightning that pierced down from the black heavens making the hair on his skin rise. "You didn't give up on me...even when you should've. There's no way I'll let any of you do it now that it's come to this."

Even when dark splotches began to cover his vision, he pressed on. Dragging his battered body until his hands felt warm, scratched hands. He couldn't tell if he had both of their hands in his or not but it didn't matter.

Something ignited in him as light surged from his d-tecter. He could feel a warmth wash over his body as he and his companions were shielded by another incoming wave by a shield bubble made of light.

Unable to hold on any longer, Takuya fell unconscious. Unaware of two beams of light attack Cherubimon, leaving him to temporarily flee. Heading into the tear that now looked to be a swirling black hole in the sky. What fractal code he still had following him in.

Author Notes: Cliffhanger time! Now...gonna be honest, I was really really hoping I reached the end of the story by now. Granted we're close, the final stretch but uh...yeah. Still...still got a ways to go.
