Mario and MLP Tales of Two Worlds
Chapter 13-Feline Frezeny
The sneakiest bandit of them all, Nabbit, was busy running through the Mushroom Kingdom with his sack full of stolen items. He has been notorious for being quite the thief.
"Oh yeah! I got me some really good stuff today!" he snickered as he ran from whatever force would be after him. Of course, what he didn't expect to see was a Monty Mole popping up from under his feet and tripping him over. This caused his sack to fly out of his hand and off a cliff.
"Oh no! My loot!" he exclaimed.
The loot went flying right on down right at Rosalina's Comet Observatory which was currently parked nearby. Rosalina was admiring the view of the Mushroom Kingdom as it hadn't changed since she was a little girl.
"This brings back many memories..." she thought to herself.
Of course, that wasn't going to be the plot here. Nabbit's sack dropped down right onto the base of the observatory.
"What's that right there?" Rosalina asked.
"Let's take a look," Polari suggested.
They grabbed the sack and took it to the library.
The sack contained a few items that could be found in blocks everywhere, but one of them looked different.
"That's strange. I've never seen a Super Bell like this before," Rosalina commented.
"You're right, madame. It has a different shine to it," said Polari.
It seemed like it would be a special kind of Super Bell. Of course, there would be only one way to find out. Rosalina put the bell on and turned into her cat form.
"Nothing seems to be different. I don't get what could possibly be special about this particular bell," she said.
"Hmm...trying ringing it some more," Polari suggested.
And so, she did. But what they didn't know was that the bell let out an eerie glow and it suddenly put her in a trance. She was on all fours.
"Miss Rosalina? Are you okay?" Polari asked.
Rosalina started meowing and couldn't say anything else. She ran off out of the library, off the observatory and to parts unknown.
"Miss Rosalina! Come back!" Polari shouted.
The Lumas all saw what happened and were absolutely terrified by it.
"Mama?" one of them asked.
Meanwhile, Mario and his friends were all playing with a ball for a little fun time.
"Over to you, Green Bean!" Rainbow Dash shouted as she bounced the ball to the taller younger brother of the two. Luigi caught it with his eyes closed.
"I knew I said I could catch with my eyes closed, but that was both ridiculous and neat!" Luigi commented. "Right to you, princess!"
He saved it over to Peach who was about to catch it, but then Rosalina pounced at the ball and started playing with it against her will. She was under some sort of control.
"Hi there, Rosalina!" Toad greeted.
"Are you practicing using the cat abilities?" Peach asked.
"Meow!" Rosalina meowed.
"Maybe she's practicing cat calls too," Luigi thought.
"You must be getting into the power a little more than you thought," Mario guessed.
Rosalina looked at them and hissed viciously, swinging her claws at them.
"Rosalina! It's us! Your friends!" Mario reminded her.
"What's gotten into you?" Luigi asked.
"Hey, look at the bell!" Toad pointed out.
They saw it looked a little different than usual.
"Is that Super Bell a darker color?" Peach asked.
"It looks like a grayish black..." Fluttershy thought.
Rosalina then ran off to wherever she was going.
"Something's wrong," Mario believed.
Polari showed up.
"Did you guys see Rosalina go by?" Polari asked.
"Yeah! She was acting very weird and took off with a threatening hiss!" said Toad.
"And that bell just might have something to do with it!" Peach figured.
"We have to find out why," said Mario.
And so, they all hurried off to go and see what was up with Rosalina.
Meanwhile, at Bowser's Castle, everything seemed to be in order right then. The Chain Chomps were guarding the gate when they noticed a little something off in the distance. This caused them to be suspicious and bark loudly at it. This disturbed Bowser's peace.
"Oh, what's with all the racket down here?! Can't you see I'm trying to get a little shuteye around here?!" Bowser complained to his ironclad hounds.
"What's going on? Are we being invaded? Did someone break into the castle? Is it another one of those childhood hoodlums making a mess of the exterior again?" Kamek wondered.
"The Chain Chomps thought they saw something and disturbed my nap!" Bowser growled.
"What did they see?" Kamek wondered. Just then, Rosalina came running up to them.
"ROSALINA?!" they shouted in fear.
But instead of attacking them, she started rubbing up against their legs.
"Well...this is new..." Bowser thought.
Kamek took a closer look at Rosalina and saw the bell.
"Hey! My special bell!" he said.
"Your what?" Cozy Glow asked.
Kamek knew what this meant.
"I guess I have some explaining to do here," he said.
Rosalina was having a nice bowl of milk and playing with a ball of yarn while the Koopa Klan was looking at Rosalina and her new hypnotic feline state.
"
Kamek, what is this all about?" Bowser asked.
"I can explain perfectly clearly," said Kamek.
"You know what that means! A flashback!" said Larry And thus, a flashback began and Larry went,
"Woo-loo-woo-loo-woo-loo..."
Flashback
"For the past several days, I have been experimenting with creating some new items to add to our inventory and use against the Mario Bros and the others. These items would not just give them the usual powers they would possess but also put them under a hypnotic state that would not cease its uses. The first one I made a brainwashing version of was the Super Bell. I put it away for good use, but it appears that that little thief, Nabbit, broke into the vault and stole the bell," Kamek explained.
"THE BRAINWASH BELL! IT'S MISSING!" flashback Kamek shouted.
"Yoo-hoo! Mr. Hocus Pocus! Over here!" Nabbit taunted as he shook his rump right at him.
"You give that back this instant!" Kamek shouted.
"No can do!" said Nabbit.
He ran off with the bell and Kamek tried chasing him with his broom. However, Nabbit went through a series of obstacles that made Kamek crash eventually and got away.
"WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!" Kamek shouted.
End flashback
"Woo-loo-woo-loo-woo-loo..." Larry repeated ending the flashback.
"Yeah, thanks for that, Larry," Kamek thanked.
"I always wanted to do that," Larry figured.
Kamek continued,
"It would seem that Nabbit had lost the item and some how it fell right into Rosalina's possession. She is wearing it and completely under its powers now," Kamek figured.
"That's one heck of a story, but it looks like we can use this to our advantage," said Bowser.
Rosalina was rubbing up against their legs again.
"Plus, she kinda likes us right now," Bowser added.
"Hey, if she never turns back, can we keep her as a pet, Papa?" Bowser Jr. asked.
"Come on! Please!" Iggy asked.
"Okay, sure. But if I step into anything she leaves behind, don't expect me to clean it up. Expect the Goombas," said Bowser.
"Oh, we always gotta do all the dirty work!" Goomba A griped.
"And that kind is even worse!" Goomba B complained.
The Koopalings were happy.
"You hear that, Rosie? This is your new home now!" said Lemmy.
"Song time!" Cozy announced.
"Oh for the love that is evil," Chrysalis gagged
Rosalina meowed contently. This led to a song cue for the episode.

The Koopalings were happy to have here as a pet.
"She's gonna be a lot of fun to play with!" said Lemmy.
"But she's also gonna be some real help with the Mario Bros, don't forget that," said Roy.
Rosalina was curled up and purring.
"She's so cute when she sleeps like that," said Iggy.
Meanwhile, Mario and friends were busy looking around for the mother of the Lumas.
"ROSALINA!" Mario called out.
"HERE, KITTY MAMA!" Toad yelled.
"She's not responding," said Peach.
"This is a lot harder than we thought," said Luigi.
"Miss Rosalina couldn't have just vanished off the face of the Mushroom Kingdom, could she?" Polari wondered.
"Don't worry, Polari. We'll find her. We just don't know where she could be heading," said Mario.
If only our friends knew where she was.
The other Lumas were all alone wondering where their Mama could be. Polari reported back to them about this.
"Polari? Is Mama all right?" Luma asked.
"I'm afraid we have had no luck finding out where she could have gone off to," Polari stated.
"This is terrible," Luma whimpered. He was ready to cry.
"Who's gonna ready us stories?" a blue one asked.
"Or help us make meals?" a green one wondered.
"Or keep us safe in case we get scared?" a red one questioned.
"Please don't be upset, little ones. I assure you, Miss Rosalina will be back. Even if we have to turn the whole Mushroom Kingdom upside down for her!" said Polari.
"We want mama! And we'll help by anyway we can!" said Luma.
The Lumas were all gonna help out.
"Looks like their spirits have been lifted a bit," said Peach.
"And they're gonna help us out!" Toad added.
"We're not at the end of our ropes yet!" Luigi cheered.
Meanwhile, at Bowser's Castle, Rosalina was chasing the Koopa Klan around with her feline techniques and pounced on them, conquering the very army that Bowser had formed.
"The cat's out of the bag! And we're out of moves to get it back in..." Hammer Bro groaned from the pain.
"This is just excellent! If we can get the Mario Bros under this type of control, nothing will be able to stop us at long last!" said Bowser.
"I'll be working on the finishing touches for those immediately," said Kamek.
The Koopalings were impressed with their new pet's talents.
"Here you go, little kitty," said Lemmy feeding her a Cheep Cheep. The Cheep Cheep was panicking over its situation right now, but it didn't matter to them. Rosalina opened up wide to eat the little fishy.
"That's good, huh?" Larry asked.
"Good kitty. You're gonna make this easy and worth it with your little charms," said Morton.
"Come on, kitty. Let's go play together," Wendy said taking Rosalina with her. Rosalina just meowed under the situation.
Bowser was happy to see his kids being happy with their pet.
"I don't know why we didn't think of this after all these years. They're a lot better than our Chain Chomps," said Bowser.
The Chain Chomps seemed a bit jealous that Rosalina was getting all the attention. They felt neglected.
Back with our heroes and the Lumas, they continued looking around for the pussycat of the stars. But they still seemed to be a little off.
"Let's see...could Mama be in here?" Luma wondered looking a knothole.
A Waddlewing popped up out of the knothole and yelled at it.
"I'm sorry I was looking into your home. I was just looking for someone," said Luma.
The Waddlewing yelled something at Luma. Polari could hear that.
"Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?" Polari questioned.
Luigi was checked over by the river. Plessy was splashing and playing around in it.
"Hey, Plessie! Have you seen Rosalina around here anywhere?" Luigi asked the big sea creature.
Plessie shook his head.
"Nope. Sorry. But I have seen this neat-looking coral over by a reef I swam in the other day," he said holding up the coral.
"Looks nice but I should be looking elsewhere," said Luigi.
Some urchins were in the coral and stuck right at Luigi. This made him scream in pain.
"YEOW! GET THEM OFF ME! THEY'RE POKING REALLY HARD!" he shouted.
Applejack smacked them away from him and he was still covered a bit in thorns.
"Got them taken care of," said Applejack
"Thanks, AJ..." said Luigi. He took a drink of water and the water came out of some of the holes the urchins' spines left in him.
Still, no luck was given to them, the heroes were running out of options as to where Rosalina could be.
"We've been looking for hours and we still haven't found one single sign of Miss Rosalina's whereabouts," Polari confirmed.
"This is getting annoying," Rainbow Dash groaned.
"Wait...if she was in a catsuit when she was hypnotized..." Rarity wondered.
"That's it! If we're gonna catch a cat, we have to think like a cat!" said Peach.
"You sure that will work?" Luma wondered.
"It's worth a try. What else could we do?" Toad figured.
So, they all got Super Bells, some real ones that wouldn't brainwash them, and looked around for Rosalina while an instrumental tune of Here, Kitty Kitty was playing in the midst of their search.
"Look! Paw prints! And they're not the same size as ours!" said Toad.
"Finally! We're getting somewhere!" Mario cheered.
"Let's march on!" said Mario.
Back at Bowser's Castle, Rosalina was having a little tea party with Wendy.
"Now, don't you look absolutely purr-fect in your little hat, kitty," Wendy punned.
"Wah-wah-wah..." Iggy groaned over that.
"That one's been done to death," Ludwig groaned.
"Oh, and like you could come with something better?" Wendy wondered.
"Will you two get it together? We still gotta make sure that Rosie's in tip-top shape for our next plot in taking over Peach's Castle!" said Bowser Jr.
Rosalina then had something in her throat and was choking a bit.
"What's with her?" Roy asked.
"Uh-oh...I think she's got a..." Larry figured.
Rosalina coughed up a hairball and it hit Bowser Jr.
"...hairball," Larry finished.
"Of course," Bowser Jr. groaned.
Mario and friends were getting closer to Rosalina's location. Just then, they saw that the paw prints led right to a Warp Pipe and pretty much stopped at them.
"The tracks end here. She must have gone down that Warp Pipe," said Polari.
"We have no other choice but to go in," said Mario.
"We're coming, Mama!" Luma shouted.
"Wait a minute...isn't that the warp pipe to..." Toad started to ask.
They all went right into it and hoped that Rosalina would be all right. Of course, the Warp Pipe lead them right to the lava valley, home of Bowser's Castle.
"Oh, I just knew we were gonna end up here!" Toad figured.
"Rosalina went all the way over to Bowser's Castle?" Luigi wondered.
"You don't think that bell has some sort of connection to them, do you?" Peach asked.
"It may, it may not, but we won't know until we see for ourselves," said Mario.
"We'll get Mama back for sure!" said Luma.
They marched off to Bowser's Castle where the Chain Chomps started barking again.
"What have we gotta be barking at this time?" Bowser asked them.
There were more cats heading their way with some Lumas.
"It's those creeps! They're here to fight us and take Rosalina back! Well, they're in for a little surprise of their own..." said Bowser.
Kamek was still busy working on the evil versions of the power-ups that the Mario Bros used and was getting close to their completion.
"Just about done..." said Kamek.
As he was about to put on the last touch, Hammer Bro rushed in and shouted,
"KAMEK, THIS IS NO TIME FOR YOUR LITTLE PROJECT! WE'VE GOT INVADERS!"
Kamek dropped his hat from the noise and picked it back up. His wand was ready to do battle by his side.
"The sooner I do this, the sooner I can get back to work on unknowingly brainwashing those plumbers," said Kamek.
The Koopa Klan was ready for another strike. But Bowser had some plans of his own.
"Bring out our beast!" said Bowser.
The Chain Chomps were ready to go all out but Bowser booted them aside.
"Not you! I meant our new beast!" he stated.
Rosalina was ready to do battle with the Mario Bros and her old friends.
"You may be familiar with these invaders of ours, but you won't even recognize them," said Bowser Jr.
"Go get them and we can begin our glorious conquest!" said Ludwig.
Rosalina charged to the heat of battle, leaving a big surprise for her old friends.
Soon, our heroes at the doorstep of Bowser's Castle and the drawbridge was lowering.
"Here it comes, everyone!" said Mario.
The drawbridge came down and revealed Rosalina right in front of their eyes. She was hissing loudly at them.
"Mama?! You're with them now?!" Luma asked.
"I don't think so! She would never side with the Koopa Klan after what they did to our observatory!" Polari denied.
"Then why is she with them?" Luigi asked.
"It's gotta be that bell!" said Peach.
Rainbow flew up and spied on Kamek's room where he saw the evil versions of the power-ups.
"Those power-ups are the same color! It is one of their items!" said Rainbow Dash
"So, they're resorting to brainwashing now?" Toad asked.
"How low can you go?" Polari asked.
"Rosalina! Attack them with all your might!" Kamek ordered.
Rosalina leaped right at them and a battle began.
The heroes were fighting Rosalina with everything they had, but she seemed to be moving very well out of the way of their attacks. She pounced right at Toad who ran as fast as he could to get out of the way.
"Rosalina! Snap out of it, will ya?!" Toad insisted.
But those words could not get through to Rosalina at all.
"She'll never fall for that old ploy!" Bowser Jr. cackled.
"It's us! Your friends! Remember?" Peach asked.
Rosalina only cared about being the top cat on the battlefield and protecting her new home. Of course, that's what this Rosalina was thinking. The real Rosalina was somewhere in there.
"Come on! There's gotta be a way to snap her out of it!" said Luigi.
"But what?" Mario wondered.
The Koopa Klan was watching this from afar and enjoying the view of the fight.
"This is just great! Our mortal enemies doing battle with an old friend of theirs! It doesn't get any better than this!" said Cozy Glow.
"Pass the Shroom Fry, please," Morton requested.
The Lumas were hiding away from the onslaught of horror. Seeing their own mother, their caretaker, their very reason of being together acting like an evil soldier was just too much for them to bare.
"How can we possibly get Mama out of that trance?" Luma wondered.
"Our friends' words don't seem to be getting through to them," said Polari.
Just then, Polari had an idea.
"I know what we have to do! It's a little cliche, but it's the only chance we have at saving her!" Polari decided.
Peach and Rosalina were running all over the castle having a literal cat fight. Rosalina was hissing loudly and pulled out her claws.
"Rosalina! You know I would never hurt a friend who would never side with evil! This is not you at all! But it seems I have no choice!" said Peach.
She decided to fight back and the two of them pounced at each other and tumbled around.
"Ooh! Cat fight!" Larry cheered.
"Okay, that one was pretty good," Wendy admitted.
"Our cat will be more than a match for that little kitten!" said Kamek.
"This is getting better by the second!" said Bowser.
Rosalina and Peach attacked everywhere. They climbed up the walls of the throne room and tore down the drapes and banners in the windows.
"The drapes and banners!" Bowser shouted.
"Aw, we'll always replace them," said Hammer Bro.
There was some commotion going on in Kamek's lab.
"My lab!" Kamek cried.
"I wonder what they're breaking in there?" Morton wondered.
Peach and Rosalina eventually got to the top of the castle. Rosalina got on top of Peach and was ready to claw her, but a voice stopped it.
"STOP!" it screamed.
That voice happened to be none other than Polari. Luma was right by him.
"Mama! Please don't!" Luma cried.
"You can't do this, Miss Rosalina! This is not you!" said Polari.
"Luma! Polari! Don't do this! Run for it!" Peach begged.
"Sorry, Peach, but this is the only way!" Polari replied. He and Luma came by to Rosalina's side.
"Mama...please..." Luma begged.
"Miss Rosalina, we know that you're in there somewhere! And we are hoping that we can get through to you! We have been through a lot together and we would hate for those days to go to waste!" Polari reminded her.
"Remember the day you watched over all Lumas? The one you first befriended became a comet and helped us find our places in the universe," Luma reminded.
"Please! For the sake of all of us and your friends in the Mushroom Kingdom, come back to us! You can't give into them!" said Polari.
Rosalina was being overwhelmed by all of that. She remembered everything from those days. Her early childhood and the Lumas she met. The evil Cat Rosalina was trying to fight it off, but Rosalina was doing her best to fight it. There was a lot of hissing and meowing in all of that.
"What's happening to her?" Peach asked.
"What did you do to our cat?!" Bowser Jr. questioned.
Mario, Luigi, and Toad were trying to see what was going on.
"Is she all right?" Mario wondered.
Just then, Rosalina screamed loudly and the dark Super Bell came off the edge of the castle and into the lava. She was free from her grasp.
"I'M FREE!" she cried.
"Mama! You're back!" Luma screamed joyfully.
"We thought we lost you for sure, madame," said Polari.
"How could I possibly forget about my children?" Rosalina asked. She looked at her friends and added, "And my friends."
"She's back!" Toad cheered.
"Hallelujah!" Luigi exclaimed excitedly.
"Our pet ran away in a way where we can never get it back..." Iggy moped.
The Chain Chomps were happy and came back.
"Come on, Chomps. We're going for a walk to comfort ourselves," said Bowser Jr.
"Kamek, your items were nothing but a disaster here! They are defunct thanks to some sort of sappy gimmick that set the victim free!" Bowser scolded.
"I was working on fixing that, but..." Kamek insisted.
He knew this was not gonna end well.
"
Oh, what's the use?" he complained then Chrysalis blasted him
Rosalina was back to being herself again and couldn't wait to get home.
"Why don't we go home?" Polari suggested.
"Well, first...you wouldn't happen to have a spare Super Bell would you?" she asked.
"Right here," said Mario.
Rosalina took it and was Cat Rosalina again.
"There's something I gotta do with this," she said.
She scratched up Bowser's throne with her claws and he was left shocked from the whole thing.
"MY THRONE! IT WAS FULLY UPHOLSTERED! NOW IT'S RUINED!" he roared.
Rosalina giggled at the sight of that. Nabbit came running on by with Kamek's wand.
"I can probably hock this for a lot!" he said.
Kamek was flying on his broom.
"You get back here with that wand this instant!" he shouted.
Same situation as before with the dark Super Bell. Another crash right into a wall.
"When will I learn from this?" Kamek wondered.
Rosalina soon made it back home to her Comet Observatory.
"Are we ever glad to have you back, madame," said Polari.
"Very happy!" Luma cheered.
"I'm happy to be back too. I'd say this whole day would have been a complete catastrophe if you hadn't helped," Rosalina punned
The Lumas were not really impressed with that.
"You're not really the comedic type, madame," Polari assured her.
"It was just this once," said Rosalina.
Luma yawned and was ready for a little nap.
"I'm tired," he said.
"I have an idea," said Rosalina.
They were all nuzzled up in the library by the fireplace. Rosalina was laying down curled up like a cat and the Lumas rested up right by her. It was a peaceful rest for them. Rosalina and her friends were definitely the cat's meow.
