Warframe You Can NOT Absolve

(Start Zariman Dormazone)
Misato Katsuragi was a woman of many notaries in her past. A reckless driver, a slovenly woman in her apartment, a Major employed at NERV, guardian to the Second Children and Third Children, a tease, an alcoholic, a wreck of a woman, and on rare occasions lover. She was the wet dream of several men in her life both known and unknown and she knew it. But when it came down to her job, she knew to be serious when demands for it come in. So, as she began to come to the woman was groggy as all get out. It felt like every hangover she's ever had got together to haunt her and give her the mother of all hangovers.
Her body felt limp as she began to come to the world around her. She noted that she was in some sort of room bed but by the looks of it, this was not her bed nor was it a hospital bed. Looking around the room looked like the sleeping quarters in a ship but not one she knows of. Moaning in pain Misato tried to recall what had happened that lead her here. There was gunfire, a computer, giants, and a kiss... and that was when it hit her.
"SHINJI-KUN!" Misato cried out as she shot up and almost hit her head on the roof of her bed. She looked around and noted the room was furnished with things she'd never seen before. More so there seemed to be a vacuum drone rolling around the floor keeping the room clean. She also noted model ships hanging from the ceiling and several items on the shelves around the room. Misato then took a good look at herself and noticed she was lacking any clothing at the moment as the bed sheet she was under had protected her modesty prior.
There were two doors of note for the woman, one of them had an ominous glow coming through the cracks, the other was just a simple door. Getting up she began to explore and took the blanket with her in case she ran into anyone, preferring not to give them a show. Holding the blanket to her chest she went through the larger door and was wide eyed at what she saw. This room was greatly furnished clearly people spend time in this room a lot. In fact, it almost looked like a group of kids hung around this room the most judging from the pile of junk pushed towards a corner. Another thing she noted were stands of what seemed to me, robots or maybe armor just standing there for display. Walking over to the window she noted that it displayed the image of a forest and thus she noted a panel. Looking at it she saw a smaller image matched up to the one on the window.
Misato pressed a button and it then turned to the image of a snow field. She did it again and was met with a desert. One more time and thus Misato had turned off the screen causing her to nearly yelp when she saw a massive chamber on the other side sending a beam of energy through the tunnel. If it went up or down Misato did not know but she did know that she was NOT at NERV anymore.
Just then she heard a whistle a tune she did not know coming from the room she just left. The door she came through then opened causing Misato to go wide eyed at a new arrival. She then went wide eyed as she swore for a moment, she was looking at an older version of Shinji. "Shinji?!" Misato asked wondering how long she had been out of it.
"Who?" The Drifter asked as he entered the room while carrying a tray of food.
"Wait but..." Misato spoke only to hiss in pain as she was hit by another headache.
"Easy I just fished you out of Duviri you might be out of it for a bit." Drifter said bringing the tray of food cubes over to Misato while also helping her sit down. Misato was thankfully able to keep the bedsheet despite all of this as she was helped to a sitting position.
"Duviri?" Misato asked and thus the Drifter sighed.
"Long and complicated story." The Drifter said opting to explain about the Duviri later. "Here eat up, you must be starving." The Drifter said and thus Misato took the tray without complaint.
"Thank you." Misato said and with the chopsticks began to eat the food, at least she assumed it was food.
"Now mind explaining to me what happened to you?" Drifter asked wanting answers as to how she ended up in Duviri buck ass nude.
"I'm not sure, one moment I was shot trying to save someone and the next thing I know I'm waking up here." Misato said much to the Drifters concern or lack of it by his look of indifference.
"Huh, well that narrows it down." The Drifter said with a tone of clear sarcasm. "Anyway lady, have a name?" Drifter asked and thus Misato nodded to that.
"Katsuragi Misato." Misato introduced and thus Drifter nodded.
"Alright Katsuragi, just call me Drifter." Drifter responded with his own introduction much to Misato's annoyance. "So, your parents named you Katsuragi, what did it mean something to the Misato family?" Drifter asked in a small joking manner to help ease Misato.
"Misato is my first name, Katsuragi is my second name idiot." Misato responded and in turn the Drifter just shrugged a bit.
"Why share your last name first then?" Drifter asked making Misato see that they were not in Japan anymore. "Well, whatever, eat up and get dressed I placed some cloths out for you in the room you woke up in." Drifter said as he got up and stretched his neck a bit. "I need to go make a call." Drifter said before taking his leave of the confused woman. He needed to let Quinn know to get Shura here to pick up this stray.
(Scene Break Shura)
Shura's landing crafts arrived on the Zariman 10-0 the birthplace of the Tenno and a vessel of untold horrors and nightmarish memories. Shura had received a call from Quinn via the Cephalon aboard the ship. Even though he's a ghost bound to the ship he and other Holdfasts keep the ship running for the Tenno. The Tenno had turned it somewhat into their home, it was perfectly defendable from the Sentient and by extension Narmer. Save for the Grineer and Corpus invaders that show up the Zariman is the home of the Tenno.
Departing from his landing Craft with Umbra Shura entered the ship to locate Quinn about the message he got. The Lotus had started making progress with the excavation of the underground structure, but it would take time to fully dig it out. In the meantime, Lotus had started scanning the biomech Shura had used and was working on trying to create blueprints for it. Though with the side of the mech chances are the resources needed would be more than what they were used to. So, as he entered the Zariman's main gathering area he was met with Quinn who had just finished directing a few Tenno to Corpus activity in the Zariman.
"Ah Tenno, welcome back." Quinn greeted as he looked to Shura who arrived in his Warframe.
"Hey Quinn." Shura said as he looked to Quinn. Long ago Shura from his memories didn't like Quinn he acted too much like the Orokin elites while on the Zariman and the people he sent to be glassed didn't help make his case. But times change and so do people, Quinn was wracked with guilt and Shura won't lie that he felt bad about Void Blasting him with the others when he was only trying to help. But with all the adults going crazy everyone was on edge and didn't know who was really sane and who was ready to crack. "So, what was the call about, you said it was urgent." Shura said while approaching the leader of the Holdfast.
"Your friend from the other side said he found something in his little drifting journey." Quinn said and thus Shura raised a brow. "Said you can find her waiting in your Dormazone." Quinn said and thus Shura understood. If the Drifter said it was important Shura would trust his words. Thus, with a nod Shura made his way to the Dormazone passing by Cavalero, Yonta, and Hombask giving them each small greeting on the way.
(Back in the Dormazone)
The Drifter could sense his other self on the Zariman and then sighed a bit. This meant it was time for him and Misato to part ways for the time being. "Alright, Ms. Katsuragi your ride to get you out of this place is here." Drifter said as he passed a data pad over to Misato who was now dressed in a spare Zariman suit. "Give this time so he knows what's going on." Drifter said as he then headed to the glowing door.
"Wait, aren't you going to see me off?" Misato asked as she crew curious and concerned.
"When you see him, he'll explain why I can't." Drifter said and in turn he began to enter back into the door. "See you around Katsuragi." Drifter said and waved Misato goodbye before entering the room.
"Wait!" Misato called out but once she got to the room, she found her was gone. "W-what?" Misato asked finding this confusing. Soon enough the door into the Dormazone opened and drew Misato's attention towards it. Entering the room was a tall black figure with a scarf around his neck. Looking at her in confusion and shock before the figure spoke.
"Margulis?" Shura asked shocked to see the face of the adoptive mother of the Tenno. Misato was confused for a second but then Shura took a closer look. "Wait you not her... who are you and how did you get in here?" Shura asked looking at Misato ready to bring her down if needed.
"Um here." Misato said giving Shura the data pad. Shura began to read through it and saw it was a message from the Drifter.
'Hey kid,
Found this lady inside Duviri I don't know how she got there but she's not dead and she doesn't belong in Duviri, take her to the Lotus see if she can help,
-Drifter.'
After Shura read the note, he then sighed and dropped his guard a bit. "Sorry about that." Shura said and in turn he looked to Misato. "Do you have a name?" Shura asked and thus Misato sighed a bit in relief.
"Misato Katsuragi." Misato introduced reminding herself that these people don't know the Japanese greetings.
"Shura." Shura introduced in response to which Misato smiled. "Anyway, according to this." Shura said holding the datapad. "You were in Duviri, any idea how you got there?" Shura asked and thus Misato turned her head.
"No nothing." Misato responded and thus Shura nodded to this.
"Well then, come on I'll get you out of the Zariman and over to the Lotus, she can get you set up." Shura said gesturing for Misato to follow him.
"Alright." Misato said and thus began to follow after Shura unsure as to what exactly was going on.
(Later in the Orbiter)
Needless to say, Misato was shocked when they boarded the Orbiter. The entire thing the landing craft the ship all of it was years if not centuries ahead of what she was used to. So, as they entered the ship, they bid farewell to the Zariman and began the journey to Lua. As they traveled Misato eyes were on the space outside as she could not believe the sort of universe, she had woken up in. Despite that her concerns were on her wards during the invasion she had been shot and blacked out from blood loss. For a moment she thought she had seen Rei somehow, but her memory was fuzzy after blacking out.
With Shura driving he kept his eyes peeled in case Misato was not someone trustworthy. The Journy to Lua should be one hours' worth of travel time at best using the Solar Rails in the Origin System. Baring, any traffic or complications the trip should be a peaceful one. Shura then sighed as he got up from the navigation port and began to head back. "Ordis let me know when we arrive and keep an eye on our guest." Shura said as Ordis heard the order.
"Of course, Operator." Ordis said which Misato smirked a bit.
"What you, don't trust me or something?" Misato teased a bit as Shura then went to his Foundry.
"Not sure yet." Shura said as he looked over his blueprints and began to put in the commands for construction. They were mainly ciphers and Air Support Triggers. Shura avoided making Spectors simply because of how costly they were to both his Credits and his resources. More so if they were to build more of these, Biomechs, then Shura needed as much resources as possible.
"Well, that's comforting." Misato said with a pout as she then sighed a bit. "Any beer around here?" She asked and thus Shura stopped there.
"Beer?" Shura asked and thus Misato sighed to this.
"Yeah, should have expected that." Misato said and thus Shura sighed and headed to his room.
"Stay out of trouble." Shura said and thus he entered his room to rest for a moment.
Misato was left alone as she tried to figure out what was going on exactly. She remembered the invasion of NERV done by the JSDF under the orders of SEELE. SEELE was basically like the illuminati who controlled the earth from the shadows. All the information was in the chip Kaji snuck her via a pill when they had their last night together. Of course, by the time she cracked it the information was useless because SEELE had begun their plans for Instrumentality. She didn't know if they won or not which had her worried. More so she needed to figure out where exactly she was, the future an alien world or an entirely different dimension. She wasn't entirely sure and thus the military part of her brain opted to keep the information hidden until, she was sure.
That was until she heard what sounded like a Sitar echoing through the Orbiter. She raised her head as she began to follow the music a bit. It reminded her of Shinji and when he played his cello when no one was listening. She walked over to where she heard it and found the source was from Shura's room on the ship. Apparently, her escort was a musician and judging by how he's playing a damn good one but... wait she hears two sitars now the one. This meant there was someone else in there with him playing along but she saw him enter the room alone and it was more or less empty inside. She didn't see, anyone else from her brief look at the far windows reflection so how was he playing two Sitars at the same time?
Against her better judgement Misato decided it was worth investigating if for no other reason than to sedate her curiosity and possible paranoia. Thus, she entered the room and found Shura there with a child both playing a Sitar. Of course, Misato was wide eyed as she looked to the child that bore a striking resemblance to her old war Shinji Ikari bar the scars on the right side of his face around his right eye. It was impossible how can Shinji be here, had she gone crazy or was she dreaming?
"Shinji-kun?" Misato asked her mind needing time to reboot as this got Shura and the boys attention.
"Oh boy." The boy said as he knew not many people knew about the Tenno's Operator forms. Those that did had the Tenno's absolute trust and those were the Ostrons and Quills in Cetus on Earth and Solaris United and Vox Solaris in Fortuna on Venus.
"Shinji... not it can't be you were." Misato continued entering the room trying to make sense of this.
"Misato was it... you have me confused for someone else." Shura said as he stepped up to the woman. "I'm Shura." Shura reintroduced himself as Misato was now confused as she looked between Shura and Umbra.
"Wait what?" Misato asked hoping that it was either a joke or a case of two people with the same name.
"I'm Shura... the actual Shura." Shura repeated causing Misato to rub her head as a headache was coming on.
"Explain now." Misato said wanting answers as to what this was.
"To make a long story short, I and several others were in an accident that granted us these powers, thanks to these powers we got drafted into a war when all other options had been exhausted and won said war, and these powers allow us to do this." Shura said before vanishing in Umbra Via Transference causing Misato to go wide eye to this.
"Holy!?" Misato gasped as Shura then flexed a bit to show he was inside Umbra now. "Shura?" Misato asked as she gave the Warframe a look over.
"Yeah, I'm still here." Shura said confirming to Misato he was inside the Warframe.
"Huh good to know." Misato said looking around the Warframe a bit. "Almost reminds me of a human sized EVA Unit." Misato mumbled a bit before she sighed. Either she was in the far future and this kid was Shinji's descendant or she was in a parallel universe. Misato was not entirely sure which of the two were worst in this situation.
"Operator." Ordis said as he flew in using the proxy drone causing Misato to look to him. "We will be arriving on Lua momentarily I have alerted the Lotus that you will be bringing a guest to meet with her." Ordis said and in turn Shura nodded too the Cephalon.
"Alright, thanks for telling me, Ordis." Shura said and thus he then turned his attention towards Misato. "You might want to strap in, Ms. Katsuragi." Shura said and with a nod she went back to the Landing Craft.
(Scene Break Lua)
The Landing Craft arrived on Lua in the center of an area cut off from the rest of the moon. From it, Shura and Misato were dropped out of the Landing Craft as Misato looked around in shock that she was on Lua, and she didn't need a space suit. "Holy shit." Misato cursed as she took a stray rock and dropped it surprised to find that Gravity works on Lua.
"Welcome to Lua." Shura said as he gestured to the area around them as Misato noticed a few things around the area.
"Hey what's with all the security drones." Misato asked confused as to why there seemed to be camera's and the like all over the area.
Shura then grew silent for a moment as he dared not look to Misato. "TO make a long story short... we had an incident that led to a war... the added security is to prevent a repeat of said incident." Shura said making it clear that he did not want to go in depth and from the tone Misato saw that it was personal for Shura.
"Alright..." Misato said noting that the tone Shura used was a tad bit scary.
"Let's go." Shura said and in turn began to lead Shura to where the Lotus was.
(Later)
Shura arrived at the platform lift that led directly to the Lotus's chamber. Around it were Spectors known as the Blades of the Lotus. The Tenno had made these Spectors to be the Lotus' elite guard her vanguards as it were. They were programmed to serve and defend the Lotus, but should she be compromised they were to neutralize her and restrain her until she can be uncompromised. Shura presented his hand to the Blades and thus they scanned the hand and by extension his Tenno Identification via a handshake. In turn they glared at Misato who swore for a moment they looked ready to rend her limb from limb at a moment's notice.
"She's safe." Shura said and thus the Blades proceeded to step aside and allow the pair onto the platform. Once they were on the platform it began to lower down to where the Lotus was waiting for them.
"What were those things?" Misato asked once she and Shura were on the Platform.
"The Blades of the Lotus, their Lotus' personal guards Spectors made for the sole purpose of defending her." Shura said making it clear that whoever the Lotus was she was clearly high stakes VIP. They were made so the Tenno would not have to lose their mother all over again.
Eventually the platform reached the bottom of the shaft and from there they were met with a long hallway. Lining up on either side of the wall were more Blades of the Lotus Warframes all of whom stood sentinel ready to act should the need arise. The pair walked down the hall as Misato strayed behind a bit. Looking to Shura she then walked to a Blade and began to wave her hand in its face trying to get a reaction.
"Hey! Hey!" Misato called to the Blade trying to get a reaction from it, but the Spector did not move in the slightest. Misato looked to either side and was about to do something she once did in College during a trip to Britain.
But then Shura came back and grabbed her arm. "Come on!" Shura scolded and thus dragged Misato back down the hall causing her to yelp in response.
(Later the Chamber of the Lotus)
Shura and Misato eventually arrived to find Reiko standing there with the Lotus as they were going over their scans on the Biomech and the structure they were trying to excavate. Misato silently gasped when she saw Reiko and for a moment, she had almost mistaken her for Rei Ayanami. The Lotus paused what she was doing to greet the two new arrivals. "Shura welcome back." Lotus said as she welcomed Shura back to her chamber.
"Hello Lotus, this is the one Drifter found in Duviri." Shura said gesturing to Misato who was looking at the hologram Lotus had projected in front of her.
"I see." Lotus said as she directed her attention to Misato. "And might I ask your name?" The Lotus asked wanting to know to whom she was speaking.
"Misato Katsuragi." Misato introduced to the Lotus who nodded to this. "Look, Lotus, I have a question for you before we begin talking." Misato asked as she saw the images and knew something was up now. "Why do you have the Evangelion Unit on that holo screen thing?" Misato asked making it clear that she knew what it was.
"Evangelion?" Lotus asked as that was the first time, she heard the term.
"Evangelion, so that's what it's called." Shura said and thus the Lotus spoke.
"It seems both parties have information to share, very well if you can answer my questions I shall in turn answer yours." Lotus offered and thus Misato figured that was her best bet to get down to what was going on around here and where or when exactly she was.
"You go first." Misato urged and thus the Lotus began to tell her tale to the woman.
"A long time ago there was a mighty empire known as the Orokin who ruled this System and all who inhabit it." The Lotus began as she opted to go for the basics of things. "But... they were a cruel sort whose cruelty, arrogance, and pride eventually became their undoing." The Lotus said which got Misato's attention. "Among their cruelest of practices was the Yuvan and Continuity where they in an attempt to prolong their perceived immortality bought young children, Yuvan's to become their new host bodies destroying their minds to make room for their own." She added as Misato was wide eyed to this.
"I almost ended up as such when I faced the Grineer Queens who they themselves were Orokin forced to use Grineer bodies to save themselves." Shura said as he knew what it was like and knew how close he was to becoming the Grineer Queen's new host body.
"But eventually they came to the problem of their empire they were running out of resources to exploit so they looked outward to expand their empire." The Lotus said and thus Misato knew where this was going.
"Colonization." Misato said and thus the Lotus nodded to this.
"Precisely, and with this they discovered Tau and had chosen it as the site of their first interstellar colony." The Lotus said going to the deeper part of the story. "Thus, they deployed the Sentient autonomous lifeforms with the sole purpose of terraforming the planet to suit their needs but there a problem would form that would come back to haunt them." The Lotus said pausing on that bit of the story.
"What happened?" Misato asked and thus the Lotus gave a simple response.
"They decided they liked it on Tau." She spoke and thus Misato got a good idea what this would lead too. "The Sentient had free will and without the Orokin holding their leashes they started to think for themselves." Lotus said and thus Misato knew what this meant.
"Evolution and from its Revolution." Misato summarized seeing how things would turn bad for the Orokin.
"The second part of the process was commission of the Zariman Ten-Zero that would bring the new colonists to Tau in preparations for the Orokin elites' arrival." She spoke in which Misato could see this being bad. If the Sentient were now free thinkers and liked it on Tau, they didn't sound like they were going to give it up without a fight. "The Zariman would make a Void Jump to Tau and thus the new Tau Colony would be born... but when they attempted to make the historic jump... they never arrived." The Lotus said and judging from how Shura and Reiko tensed up she had a good idea what happened.
"There was an accident and the Zariman became trapped inside the Void no one ever truly knowing what happened or what went wrong before eventually... the Zariman returned its crew dead all save for the children aboard the vessel." She said causing Misato to sigh in relief a bit but gained a sad look for the children. She was happy to hear that the children had survived but she could only imagine the trauma they must have endured. "But when rescue came, the children were changed transformed by the Void gifted or cursed with its powers." She added which made Misato go wide eyed to this.
"These two incidents would forever lock into place when the Sentient eventually returned to the Origin System intent to wage war against the Orokin." Lotus said as she spoke. "The Orokin were powerless before the adaptive power of the Sentient their own technology and weapons useless and turned against them, the Orokin needed a new weapon, and they learned the only way to make said weapon was to look to the past." Lotus said and thus she got to the Tenno's role. "Through Archmeridian Margulis and Executor Ballas they created the weapon that would win them and lose them the war." The Lotus said as Shura clenched his fist at the mention of Ballas's name.
"Margulis created Transference Therapy to treat the children of the Zariman whom she had all but adopted as her own loving and nurturing them with love and care." Lotus said which Misato had to admit that woman had to have had a huge ass heart to adopt that many orphans. "The Orokin thought her insane for it they saw the children as demons' monsters to be put down like mad dogs." Lotus said causing Misato to go wide eyed to this. "She protected them fought the Seven tooth and nail to protect them so she may heal them." She spoke causing Misato to smirk to this holding admiration for Margulis.
"Way to go mama bear." Misato voiced causing the Lotus to chuckle a bit to that.
"But Ballas her lover was jealous and petty feeling that he was the sole owner of Margulis love despised the children as much as the Orokin did due to their Void affliction." Lotus said which Misato knew there was a story there. "When Margulis refused Ballas and refused to renounce the children she sought to heal she was executed, and Transference Therapy taken by Ballas to create his Warframes using the Children, the Tenno, to Operate them where it eventually won them the war... at least at first." Lotus said and thus Misato begam to grow worried.
"The Sentient during had gained an ally in Ballas, who despite his actions being what sent Margulis to her death blamed the Empire for her fate, had given the Sentient valuable information on his Warframes an Achillies heel which they exploited through their infiltrator, Natah the name of my birth." Lotus revealed causing Misato to look to Lotus wide eyed in shock. "But when I saw their tender little faces innocent, scared, and alone I... could not go through with my mission to kill them." Lotus spoke as she spoke further. "I was made in the image of Margulis to gain their trust and that I did so when I severed their chains the Tenno unleashed their fury upon their oppressors and like that the Empire fell by the hands of those they abused." Margulis said which Misato could see that maternal instincts played a role. "Seeing as I was cursed barren thanks to the Void, the weakness to my people, you can guess where it led." Lotus said and thus Misato knew what this meant.
"The Tenno destroyed the Orokin ended their mighty empire before going into a deep sleep never to fight again." Lotus said with a sad tone at the end. "But unfortunately, the System needed them and unable to turn away a universe on fire I reawakened them." The Lotus said to which Misato understood as much. "We've been fighting ever since against the Grineer, the Corpus, the Infestation, and most recently Narmer." Lotus said and thus Misato got the story and understood the implications.
"Wow." Misato said as she could tell this was heavy on her.
"Now that I told my story tell me what is, your story, what is Evangelion, and the structure hidden underground?" Lotus asked wanting answers from the woman.
"Alright, but I have to start at the beginning, to make as much sense as I can make it," Misato said as Reiko, Shura, and The Lotus listen carefully as they can as Misato explain from the creation of the world, from what she could put together herself and from the words of her old Friend, Ritsuko.
She told them how angels came into being, created by God, Almighty as she could best explain from Christianity, then goes into the first two angel that came into existence Adam the first angel that came to earth, then Lilith, the creatures of the Angels and mankind itself, but Lilith came to earth by accident and cause Adam to go into a deep sleep allowing Lilith to bare her children.
With that Lilith created mankind from her own flesh, as they became the very first living being that were known as Lilin at first, until they evolved and declare themselves as human and forgotten about the angels, as Lilith herself vanish and went into a sleep herself.
For the Lotus and the Tenno, this was shocking to hear yet a bit Intrigued by this, as they never knew how mankind itself started, but it did end there as Misato went on saying that a prophecy was made in the form of the Deep Sea scrolls that was discovered and translated as it told the Children of Adam will come forth and would replace the world of mankind itself with their own, but there was more to it than that.
With SEELE, that Misato explain that were a group of people that manipulate things behind the scenes and became a cult of sort that she didn't fully know of as her former ex-boyfriend told her so much before he was killed himself by those guys.
SEELE believe the deep sea scroll and try to locate the angel Adam to awaken him and cause a catastrophic event known as the Second Impact that wipe out half the world population, which shocked the Tenno and Lotus as she ask why SEELE did this which Misato soon told them the reason of starting the angel wars and bring about humanity ultimate evolution.
She told them that once all the angels were destroyed, they plan on forcing all of mankind to become one with itself, as it seem the Dead Sea Scrolls came with instructions of how mankind can come together and united mankind as a singularity, thus becoming a God more or less.
Which disgusted the two Tenno that listen to this, as it seem the SEELE were just as bad or maybe worse than the Orokin themselves, if they were still around, the Tenno would most likely cut them down before anything else, as they will not let such a thing happen.
Misato keep on explain on how SEELE try to succeed in this plan by creating NERV that Misato worked for as a major, and have them build the GEO-front, which was an underground facility where the first two Evangelions were made by cloning Adam body to create the Eva Units, armor them up and make them face the angels, but there was problems with that as Misato soon discover that the Evangelions needed a soul and a pilot that NERV code name them as Child with a number in front of it that was connected to the souls and try to create one.
Using the DNA of her commander's wife DNA with the DNA of the angel Lilith, creating a girl name Rei… well many of her that is, and Misato told them that Reiko look so much like her, minus the scars and implants she had, which Reiko was a bit curious about this but let Misato keep telling the story.
The head scientist Naoko Akagi, the mother of her friend Ritsuko Akagi, that had created the first EVA unit, with her commander somehow manipulate into killing the first Rei, no doubt using the first Rei to do so, before she killed herself, with theories and rumors that came up and knew that they were true as she read in a secret report that her friend gave her, that their Commander took Naoko's body that was still alive if barely and put her and her soul into the unit 1 along with the first Rei, which the Tenno and Lotus found sickening.
But it didn't end there as it seem the command had the 2nd Rei to replace the first one, and pilot the 1st EVA unit,
The Second Children Asuka Langley Soryu who was a proud EVA Pilot and very prideful as she declare herself to be the best and pretending, she was all grown up. But the truth was that she in fact acted as a child mostly, as she thought it was no doubt because her mother that was in charge of the 3rd unit was doing testing for it, and somehow something went wrong that made her lost her mind in the middle of it and put into an asylum before she killed herself by hanging herself in front of her own daughter who came to visit, which shock the Tenno and Lotus by this.
As much this sadden Misato when she read the report about this herself, she was wondering what is NERV thinking or even doing, then she came to the 3rd child, the one child she was felt proud of and guilty for… as Misato told them his name was Shinji Ikari, who Shura look so much alike to as Misato told them, and told how his life was and how she treated him.
She did feel proud of him of fighting against the angel… but also guilty for putting Shinji through all that, all the pain he felt, all the sadness, as he had no one to rely on. His mother was absorbed into the EVA Unit, the unit that she had pointed out on the hologram, unit. This made Shura soon realize who that woman was he saw within the giant Biomech but keep it to himself, as he listen on as Misato soon went on saying that Shinji's own father abandon him to a friend of his as it seem not even Shinji's own family wanted to take him in.
She even told the first time that Shinji pilot the EVA, he was nearly killed by the angel until the unit went berserk, which Shura was feeling the sense of Deja-vu when he heard this, but he couldn't help but feel bad for this Shinji, even if he look like him, he didn't know who he was really but felt sorry for him, with Reiko share this feeling as well.
But it didn't end there as she also told them that Shinji's father was the commander, and pretty much force Shinji to come to Tokyo-3, the city the angel war mostly took place at, as well to piloting the 2rd Eva unit for the first time, using Rei in an injury state because of a test gone wrong, even if he had no skills in piloting it and almost got killed for it.
With Lotus herself felt sadden by this story, with her heart ache a bit to this, as it was the side of Margulis that was within Lotus, as if Shinji, Asuka, and maybe Rei were here, no doubt she would have taken them into her arms as well to be her children, regardless of if they were Tenno or not.
In Lotus's mind she also felt anger and rage, no doubt it was the Natah side that was feeling this. The Sentient truly wished Gendo was here right now so she can rip him apart for being a horrible father. But at the same time, she could not help but felt pity for Shinji and Asuka, but with Rei it was hard to say.
Lotus try to calm both sides as she told all of herself both were gone and there was nothing else they could do about it anyways, then told Misato to go on and explain how did it end as Misato soon told the last angel…took a human form and was named Kaworu Nagisa, who was created by SEELE using the DNA of Adam and humans, as he befriended Shinji while acting as a new pilot, while Asuka was in a coma at the time, was in truth there to infiltrated NERV HQ to find Adam and only found Lilith instead, before Shinji caught up to him and… killed him, thus seemly ending the angel wars.
But that's were all the trouble started, as SEELE soon activated their plan and bring forth mass produce Eva units that were remote controlled somehow with Asuka awaken from her coma and try to fight them off but was defeated and may have been killed. Shinji had probably witnessed this and somehow the 3rd impact was initiated, the Human Instrumentality had begun, and it wasn't until the last moment that she found out that Shinji's father try to take control of it trying to bring back his wife that was still within unit 2 using Shinji to control the 3rd impact, as she try to get him to safety, only to get shot by SEELE security force called section 2, and share a kiss with Shinji, which she didn't tell them that but pretty much told them she died trying to protect Shinji, which in her last moment she thought she saw Rei before blacking out and awoken in that other place.
Everyone was silent as it was hard to believe, SEELE try to become a god by forcing the remains of mankind into a singularity, then Gendo try to take it over and using his son to control it, but at the end of it Misato told them, she didn't know what happen after she supposedly died, but she believe Shinji must have stop the Human Instrumentality somehow and brought the earth back to normal, or at least the closes thing to normal that what she believes.
"I see," the lotus was the first one to speak after that as she knew the story, the reason why the unit existed… and why these giant creatures had come forth, as they all knew the angels were now back, but there are some questions to be ask as Lotus soon said, "And what of this SEELE, do you think they still exist?"
"I… don't think so, heck with how long it been by the look of it, I think SEELE maybe long gone by now, even if they survived after the 3rd impacted," Misato said as she don't believe that SEELE still existed after all this time, but then again, she was alive… somehow, as she look to Lotus and soon ask, "Why do you ask?"
"Because, I believe the enemy of your era has come back to life and the first angel had just attacked," the lotus said as Misato was shock to hear this as she soon said, "Okay… what?!"
"We believe the angel's had returned, as a giant creature had appeared the other day, and Tenno Shura had fought and defeated the angel himself using the Evangelion unit you have seen," The lotus explain as Misato turn to him and it seem all her fears were coming back, and could not believe this as the angel are back, and the boy who looks so much like Shinji had fought one, and defeated it as she turn to him and said, "How?! I mean that thing looked like a mess, the capsule area is missing, and the power cable connector is ruin, that thing shouldn't even be piloted let alone powered up to do so."
"Well I did a scan on the Bio-mech or Eva unit as you call it, and the scans had come up with similar reading from it that we could compare it to our Warframes, with this it was a matter of Preforming a Transference with it, which somehow worked, with that the power of the void, that's within us Tenno, powered it up I guess," Shura explain the best he could as he soon went on saying, "I command it like we Tenno command the Warframe, but on a bigger… and heavier scale, more than anything that I had experience before, even more than using a Necramech."
"Necra- what now?" Misato said as she was confused as Reiko soon said, "A big robot that is 3 times bigger than a Warframe, in short." It was the best way to explain it, as Misato just nod a bit to that as she somewhat understands a little bit, but still didn't know what a Necramech is.
"Anyways Miss Katsuragi, with all that we know, we do not know enough about these angels that well, but you do, and sense you do not know of the new reality you're facing now I believe we could help each other," The lotus said as Misato soon ask, "Okay, how?"
"IF you agree, I want you to be the team leader of a group that will combat against the angel, and in return we shall establish you a new home, with provided food and water, as well teach you the history of the system to help you familiarize yourself with everything," Lotus said as she offer this to Misato which she is shock by this as she soon said, "I-I-I… I think that's a good place to start at and the deal may need a bit refine but… I'll help you to fight the angels too."
"Then we are at an agreement, we can go over a properly detail of the agreement later, but for now let get you something to eat and drink, as well a place to rest for now. Tenno Shura, would you be kind enough to lead Miss Katsuragi to the dining area and a room in the residential area afterwards as well?" The lotus ask for Shura as he nodded and said, "Will do, Lotus. Follow me Misato Katsuragi."
"You can just call me Misato you know," Misato said as she follow him out of the room leaving Lotus and Reiko alone for the time being as Lotus turn to Reiko and said, "You my child, I will need you to gather as much help as you can, head down to earth, and help with the excavation. The sooner we uncover this Geo front, the sooner we can work on the Eva unit, as if what miss Katsuragi is correct, then we must be prepared."
"Do you believe this SEELE still exist, Lotus?" Reiko asked with Lotus was silent for a bit, as she believe if Misato is here… then she believe she isn't the only one from her era that is here too, but who or what she didn't know and she rather be prepared than not, as she was unprepared for Ballas and his plans, she will not be taken surprise by anything again as she said, "If I believe it or not, we must prepare ourselves for what could come next weather be the angels or another enemy."
"I understand, I will recruit other to help me and see what the other factions can offer for aid," Reiko said as she left leaving Lotus alone, as she relax herself for a bit, she cannot bit feel a bit unease as she felt like someone else was watching them, even though there are no camera in the room, and the blades were be alerted to an intruder if there was one, but she couldn't but shake this feeling as she felt something similar when she was Natah and sense the present of Shura watching the meeting with her and Erra.
It wasn't the same, but similar as it felt someone else was listening as well, and she was right, even if he wasn't visible to be seen by the Tenno… but he was there always watching, always listening, the eldritch entity himself, "The man in the wall" or Manny for short
He listen and knew this story well, and didn't seem bother by it, instead he could help but feel nostalgic, as there wasn't any other word to describe what he is feeling, but he know how the angel came to be, as what Misato didn't know… heck all of mankind didn't know, he knew there were many angels in the universe and their goal was to occupy an empty world and fill it with life, but his own curiosity got the better of him and he wanted to see what happen if two angel occupied the same world?
He may have nudge Lilith to land on the same planet on earth, but he didn't plan on Adam going to sleep so soon and next thing he knew Lilith planted her babies and let them grow, then many years later those same children woke up Adam from his long sleep and cause a war to happen with the cost of billions of lives, and almost cause a rip into the void… but he did enjoy the angel wars a bit until SEELE try to do their master plan on becoming the new god of the world using the Human Instrumentality.
But that didn't happen because Gendo had tried hijack the plan and make it that he and his wife, whose soul was stuck in the 2nd Eva unit, to be the rulers of the world using his son. Of course, that was until his son blew it by rejecting it and reverted the earth back into its birthing stage where he, that red head girl he liked survived, and that Rei girl who was a giant angel being somehow ejected from it were the only human remaining while the rest of the human came from the waters along with those "Golden lords".
It was a side effect mostly, as Shinji not only cause mankind to be born again, but cause the life of Adam's own children to be born as well in the form that was similar yet different from human that were known as the Orokin and they were arrogant as hell, as they pretty much ruled the earth and the solar system before it became the Origin System, as the golden lord discover tau system that was nearest to them and try to colonize it with the sentients and later Lilith's children to help build it.
As funny as it is to say, that system was supposed to be Lilith's destination, but anyways as in the end of things the Orokin were killed off by the Tenno, and again funny as it seem Lilith's own children still killed off Adam's children once again, along with their own creations of the sentient in the form of Lotus.
Speaking of Lilith's kids, the entity of the Void had actually considered nudging things along to bring Shinji and the EVA Pilots his way. Give them a taste of Void Power just to see what they would do with it. He actually came close to doing it once too when Shinji and Evangelion Unit 01 were trapped inside an Angels shadow. Alas that would not be the case and thus he moved back to watching the fireworks. He knew how the story was going to end but didn't make watching it any less fun.
What cruel irony in the end and the Eldritch Being was enjoying every minute of the grand show. Of course, Third Impact put his show to the end and thus was forced to go back to boredom. But these Tenno truly were his greatest source of entertainment, he had seen many timelines many cycles of the universe all with humanity being at the breaking point while others had humans living peacefully. Still to think his entertainment was about to get a second coming was great. But as any great play write does when they do a reboot or sequel of a story with a new cast summon the old cast to help things along.
(Scene Break Dining)
After a short trip Shura had brought Misato to the canteen area. To better protecting the Lotus the Tenno had constructed a fortress around the Reservoir she was based at. A needless precaution to some but a necessary one to prevent a second incident like that of Ballas. She was of course shocked over all that she found on the way mainly with the few Solaris folks walking about. Then came the food and thus we find the pair on a table eating. "Jeez a lot of cold turkey's around here." Misato said nursing a drink as she had a tray of nutrition cubes in front of her. "Well at least chopsticks are the same." She added as Shura leaned against the table she was eating, at.
"Come on sit down and eat." Misato said when she saw that Shura was not eating.
"I'm fine." Shura said defending his own desire to eat later.
Misato then grabbed Shura by his Warframe's scarf dragging him in, "What are you picky?!" She snapped glaring at the young man in the suit.
"No, I'm just not hungry." Shura said not missing a beat.
Misato stopped for a moment before giggling and letting Shura go. "It's fine sorry just felt like taking a trip down memory lane." Misato said as she remembered how Shinji was when they first met.
"Careful live in the past you lost sight of the present and betray the future." Shura said and thus Misato scoffed to this.
"And what fortune cookie did you take that from?" Misato asked causing Shura to raise a brow.
"Fortune Cookie?" Shura asked and thus Misato gasped to this.
"Dear god the future sucks." Misato gasped and thus Shura sighed to this.
"If you mean what I said, it's just something an old mentor of mine would probably say." Shura said remembering Tenshin and his proverbs. "Anyway, eat up Misato." Shura ordered as he wanted to leave already. "We still need to get your living arrangements sorted out." He added and thus Misato rolled her eyes to this.
"Well, someone is a bit bossy." Misato said and then got back to eating her food before gagging a bit. "And here I thought that my cooking sucked." Misato said as she gave the food a look saying all she needed about it. "Gonna miss Penpen though." Misato mumbled to himself on the last part. Shura simply rolled his eyes and let Misato be for the time being.
(Scene Break Barracks)
After Misato was fed Shura had escorted Misato to one of the many rooms in the facility. It was not a permanent place, but it would suffice until a more permanent residence can be found. Shura didn't want to risk Misato on the Zariman and there were not many Tenno controlled settlements they can put her in. Shura suspected there were plans to upgrade the Geofront to have residential areas inside it.
"Meh kind of small." Misato said looking around her guest room. "But at least it has windows." Misato said with a smile while looking around. She then opened the fridge and gagged when she saw more Nutrient cubes inside.
"Don't like it, then starve." Shura said entering the room to make sure Misato was all set up for her stay.
"Jerk." Misato said as she sat on the sofa. "Still, I guess this place will due." Misato said with a sigh noting the sofa was soft at least.
"Good." Shura said with a nod on his face.
The two grew silent for a moment before Misato sighed a bit. "Look before you go... thanks for picking me up and all that." Misato said as Shura stopped for a moment.
"It's... what I do." Shura said and thus he stood there ready to leave. "Rest up someone will be by in the morning." Shura said and thus took his leave of Misato.
"Wait but the Moons time zone." Misato began but Shura was already gone. "Crap." Misato cursed and thus she went to the bed in the other room and sighed. Misato laid there for a moment wondering how the Angels could have returned. Adam and Lilith were gone for all intents and purposes, so Instrumentality was now a fever dream. But if that were the case, why were they active again, did someone or something find them and stupidly or unknowing awaken them? So many questions so little answers but Misato was too tired to deal with it and thus decided to drift off to sleep.
(Meanwhile with Gendo)
Gendo had been travelling through several Ostron Settlements as he made his way to the Excavation site of the Geofront. It would be some time before he arrives and if his math was accurate, then that would mean with his current speed and the constant need to avoid the Grineer and the Infestation he should arrive around the time Ramiel returns. Still his Scenario was right on schedule and all without relying on SEELE.
What no one knew was the Angels were being drawn to the Kuva which was spreading out Adam and Lilith through the system. For lack of a better terms Adam and Lilith were spread out to the Angels thus making the search for them into a massive scavenger hunt. With the Lance and those two Angels location currently unknown Gendo had the advantage. He needn't worry about the Lance of Longinus through after all even SEELE would not be able to combat the Tenno without massive losses.
But without Rei he would need some other means of controlling the forbidden union of Adam and Lilith. The Tenno may be able to provide the means but getting close to them will be difficult especially after Ballas. He then looked to his hand and the scar tissue of where Adam used to reside on him. The Orokin higher ups had been born from Adam while the lower cast of the Orokin came from Lilith. This provided Gendo an edge because his union with Adam had left its mark on him, particularly when it involves... the Dax. Gendo could not use Tenshin Dax for two reasons first being that he's dead and second because of his loyalty to the Tenno he trained. But thankfully Gendo knew there was another active Dax in the system and all he needed was Kuva to control said Dax.
The Dax were biologically modified to obey those with Orokin blood, Kuva so since the Orokin came from Adam Gendo's own connection should provide him with the means to control her. If his star charts were accurate then the Grineer Fortress should be rotating around Earth soon and with it, they will start harvesting Kuva. He just needed enough to get the Dax under his control and have her go to collect more Kuva and he had to do it under the Tenno's noses. He only needed enough to keep this Dax under his control for the duration of his scenario which meant he had to send her out to get more on a semi regular basis. But he can also have her take it from the Tenno's own stores but that came with its own risks as well. Though her partner Maroo may prove to be an annoyance, but he could adapt around it, he just cannot let the Tenno know until he was ready to move.
But regardless everything would go according to his scenario, after all the next Angel was due to arrive soon.
(Scene Break Mars a Week Later)
It's been a week since Misato had arrived and from then until now the Former Operations Director was getting back into her old working habit. She had to admit the Tenno were an effective faction with the Operators in their Warframes doing the major work with smaller spies and the like doing covert or data work. Studying recent battle histories was what Misato was focused on she needed to know how to translate her own strategies to these new ones. Shit, it felt like she was back in college doing all night work for a deadline in one of her classes.
The Corpus faction were, a sniveling lot Misato would admit greedy and cruel. They were businessmen first and foremost but as much as Misato didn't want to rely on them, having their war profiteering may work in their benefit. They can supply the Tenno with weapons to combat the Angels if they can give them a good enough deal. Goodnews was Misato was good at that, bad news was that she wasn't knowledgeable on the currency of Credits and Platinum. Despite that they had another problem to deal with at the moment as she stood on a Corpus ship owned by the Corpus splinter group known as the Perrin Sequence.
The Tenno had done work with them in the past and thanks to this they owed the Tenno a few favors. This was one of them transporting Evangelion Unit 1 to the sight of the battle to take place on Mars. She had to admit she had hoped the Angels would all attack Earth, but it seems the Origin System followed a new set of rules. Unit 1 had thankfully been repaired from the damages and the lack of maintenance it endured while in space and the battle against the returned angels. Then again being in space where its cold and lifeless may have played a role in preserving it. Looking on the screen Misato saw the Angel making its approach and recognized which one it was.
"Misato what information can you provide on this Angel?" Lotus asked as she looked to Misato via a communication link.
"It's called Shamshel it doesn't have that laser beam the others can use but it does have two tendrils to utilize that can slice just about anything." Misato said and thus focused on one spot of the Angels. "Its core is hidden under its head your gonna have to take its AT-Field out first before taking it out." Misato said and thus the Lotus nodded in understanding.
"Tenno did you hear that?" Lotus asked direction her attention to her Tenno.
(Hangar)
"Yes." Shura said as he looked upon the EVA that's armor was now shiny and knew with a few new parts added to it.
"Very well begin Transference into the EVA and prepare to launch." Lotus responded and thus Shura nodded to this.
(In the Main Command Deck)
"Misato, I want you to pay attention to how this operation progresses." Lotus said getting Misato's attention. "If something is different about the Angel do NOT hesitate to alert us." Lotus said and thus Misato nodded to this.
(Back with Shura)
Shura focused on the EVA as Void energy began to come off his body. His eyes flashed a bit and thus he used Transference to Enter the Evangelion Unit. But once he was inside the EVA Shura was once more dragged into a sort of subspace that he could not explain.
(EVA Mindscape)
Shura found himself looking through the eyes of that woman again... no wait that's not right he was looking through the eyes of the new pilot, Shinji? Shura could not tell for all he saw was suffering and pain that mirrored his own. Wait that's not right this pain is different from his own... betrayal? Hurt? Guilt? Shame? What was going on here?
Looking around he found himself back in that... entry plug but at the same time Shura saw he could NOT move. In fact, the only thing he could move were his eyes. He saw the massive centipede like Angel and then he saw the EVA pull out a rifle and opened fire on it. The result was a smokescreen for the Angel before it used its tendril to grab the EVA by its leg and swing it around.
Shura felt the force of the impact as he could hear Misato in the communications as well as several tech crews. Shura felt... anxiety and guilt but these were not his feelings so to whom did they belong? The vision soon came to an end as Shura was drawn back into the real world once more.
(Shura)
"Tenno... Tenno? Shura respond." Lotus spoke as Shura came to once more.
"Oh, uh this is Shura sorry I blacked out there for a moment." Shura said trying to figure out what had just happened.
"Acknowledged, Shura we made modifications to hopefully help with the sluggishness of the EVA and make it more compatible with Transference." Lotus spoke as Shura paid attention. "How does it feel?" She asked and thus Shura began to flex the EVA a bit.
"Still getting that Sluggish feeling but it's not as bad as before." Shura said showing they had improvements. "But still feels like the EVA Unit is fighting against me here." Shura added making it clear that the EVA was not co-operating as much as they would like.
"Understood but it's the only weapon that can do harm to the Angel so make do and be careful." Lotus said and thus she presented Shamshel to Shura. "The target has been identified as they 4th Angel Shamshel your mission is to eliminate it before it can cause any damage." Lotus began as the EVA was being moved towards the launch pad. "If Adam or Lilith is on Mars then we cannot allow this Angel to find them the damage that would take place would be incalculable." Lotus spoke in which Shura understood the urgency.
"Alright then ready to deploy." Shura said and thus came the time to launch.
"Deploying now, happy hunting." Lotus said and in turn the launch began.
(Battlefield)
Shamshel flew through the Grineer fortress on Mars that survived Narmer's control. Of course, the Grineer were more than foolish enough to try and stop it, but their weapons did nothing to the creature. Flying on through the Angel tried to locate what drew it to this desert world. How did it end up here, why was it on this planet to begin with? Shamshel knew well enough that this was not Earth the world of its father. Yet it could sense Father here so it must search and become one with him.
But just then from the sky Evangelion Unit 1 began to come in from above but now with bulkier armor. From the knee area thrusters ignited as did thrusters on the back allowing for the EVA to land on the ground safely. It crouched from the landing with a fist to the ground as this drew the Angels attention on it. Once that was done Shura had Unit 1 pull out the laser rifle it had been equipped with and was ready to open fire on the Angel.
But Shamshel was fast as he sent out its beam whips at the enemy recognizing it as a threat. This was NOT DeJa'Vu for Shamshel and knew what the foe would try to do. Using its boosters Unit 1 jumped out of the way over to cover allowing the Angel to hit nothing but air. Once the EVA was behind some hill it had the rifle armed and ready for combat. The Angel was looking for the enemy when all of a sudden, the EVA jumped out from its cover using its boosters and fired at the Angel in short bursts. The Angel saw the EVA's hiding spot and proceeded with its attack once more.
It went on the offensive slicing through the cover opting for the EVA to back off from the site. Once that was done Shura made it charge in firing at the foe with the rifle. He kept at it as he approached but when the EVA got close enough the Angel attacked. Using its energy whips the Angel managed to slice through the rifle making it useless for the EVA.
(Misato)
"Shura!" Misato called out before looking to an unnamed tech. "Hurry deploy another rifle for him!" She asked but the Lotus cut her off.
"No belay that order." Lotus said causing Misato to go wide eyed and look to the Lotus in shock.
"W-what?!" Misato asked shocked over what the Lotus just said.
"Trust me let Shura handle this." Lotus said as she knew what Shura was doing.
(Back to the Battle)
Despite the loss of his rifle Shura continued his approach. When the Angel sent its tendrils at the EVA Shura managed to grab one with his left arm before pulling. He yanked the Angel and forced it to the ground with its core exposed to him. With his free hand Shura pulled out the Prog Knife stored in the pauldron of the EVA Unit. Of course, even though he had it pinned Shura still had to deal with its free whip, so the creature attacked.
Stabbing its whip through the EVA, Shura smirked and used the knife to slice the whip off causing the Angel pain. Shura yanked the remains of the whip before he proceeded to jam the blade directly into its core. The friction between the core and the blade somehow created sparks as the blade dug deeper into the Angel's core. This went on for a good minute as Shura growled and kept the blade going until he sliced it through causing the Angel to freeze. The core had a deep gash in it now as blood began to ooze out of the wound. The Angel tried to move but only fell limp dead and lifeless.
For Shura he knew for a fact he won as he returned the knife to its previous spot. "Lotus target is eliminated I'm ready for extraction bring the ship down so we load this thing up it might provide us with some information." Shura said and thus the Lotus understood.
"The ship is already on the way Tenno, good job." Lotus said and thus came the mission report.
(Scene Break Corpus Ship Tenno)
Shura sat alone in the room the Perim Sequence provided for the Tenno. Umbra leaned against the wall ready for Transference should his Operator need it. Shura meanwhile was having an issue of some kind after his second Transference with the EVA Unit he noted his hand had started to twitch almost in a hypnotic sort of way like a mental twitch of sorts. But Shura knew for a FACT he never had that twitch so why was it starting now? Perhaps there was some sort of bleeding effect from the EVA maybe data from the previous pilot is starting to latch on to him somehow. This warrants investigation and possibly some more modifications to the EVA Units if not a full combat freeze. Shura did not want to risk a possible Rell incident if it can be avoided.
Just then the door slid open and acting fast Shura grabbed his arm to force it to stop. From the door Misato walked in which drew Umbra's attention. "Something you needed?" Shura asked as he focused on Misato.
"That was a reckless move you pulled." Misato began as Shura raised a brow noting she was scolding him.
"Ok, but we had to eliminate the Angel before it could locate what it was looking for." Shura said as he sat on his seat. "My focus was on ending the fight efficiently especially when operating the Evangelion Unit." Shura said as he made it clear that the EVA and the Warframe were a huge step for him.
"I know, the Lotus said as much." Misato said with a sigh as she then sat down with him. "I have to remind myself that you're not Shinji, so I can't go about treating you like I treated him." Misato said while she leaned back on her chair. From the tone she used there were clear signs of regret in her voice.
"Trust me, I know what I'm doing... been fighting for so long two wars as is." Shura said listing off the major wars he fought in. "What's one more war to do?" Shura asked with a small smile on his face.
"You shouldn't be fighting these wars to begin with." Misato said and thus Shura sighed in defeat.
"If I don't... no one else will or can." Shura said making it clear. "So many of us lost so much... that's why we fight... so no one else loses things they care for big or small." Shura said and thus he looked to Umbra knowing he too was a victim of loss because of Ballas.
"Just... be careful." Misato said and in turn she proceeded to take her leave while looking away from Shura. But then Umbra stopped her before pulling Misato in for a hug catching her by surprise.
"Umbra?!" Misato gasped but Umbra simply just held Misato there and from what she could tell it was for comfort. Once he was done Umbra let go before signing to her that it will be ok in the end. Misato could only smile while Umbra took a few steps back from her. "Thanks." Misato said with a smile before taking her leave of the scene.
(Outside the Room)
Misato was heading to talk to Ergo Glast about costs of transportation. Even though the Tenno were allies with his Syndicate he was still a businessman at the end of the day. But as she walked off Misato had a sad smile on her face. "We all change, and I suppose Hedgehogs can endure pain for warmth... but these kids... what sort of Universe did I wake up in?" Misato asked her concern clear as day over her current situation and the returned, Angels.
(Scene Break Uranus)
In a hidden research lab on Uranus a massive titan was held in restraints. Not much could be seen of it save for two things, the first was a woman in a coat observing the giant with Grineer glaring at her in case she tried something. The second thing to notice was the massive red eye on it that bore into ones very soul. Bits of armor were missing but clearly it seems others have begun working on their own, Evangelion.
