Pet sitter (Frye, Bozé, Wolf, Phog) : A quick check of heart to hearts will show Phog does not like cats.
All the good things belong to Monolithsoft.
The threesome found Frye's brother sitting under one of the lower stairways. He was sitting stiffly, legs stretched straight in front of him, his back pressed flat against a rusted metal pole. He had his hands at his sides and his head tilted back. His gaze was lowered.
"Hey, buddy," Frye called when he spotted him. Phog didn't turn to look up, keeping his eyes directed toward his lap.
"..."
Frye skidded to a halt, grabbing Wolf and Bozé, keeping them from advancing. "What's up, Phog?" Frye asked cautiously.
"... help me ..." Phog's voice was almost too quiet to hear, but it was obvious he was in trouble.
Frye inched toward his brother, scanning the situation, then pounced, diving for Phog's torso. There was a scream (from Phog), a swear (from Frye), and a tiny hissing mew (from the abruptly woken kitten, formerly asleep in Phog's lap).
Phog hugged Frye rather desperately. "The guy said he'd just be a minute but he left me and you know how vicious Felis catus are and I was trapped and every time I tried to move it clawed me and I know it was going to go for my face but I couldn't get any distance because it was on my lap and ..." Phog had used up his monthly allowance of words and went silent.
"Have you been here all this time?" asked Frye, helping his brother to stand. Phog nodded. "But no one's seen you since Thursday." Phog nodded again and leaned his head on his brother's shoulder.
Meanwhile Wolf had scooped up the tiny tabby and was cuddling it. "Let's go back to my place. I'll clean you up and the missus will find you some food."
"I appreciate you helping my brother," Frye said over the blond floof of his brother's head.
"I meant the cat," said Wolf. "We'll get you all set," he crooned to the kitten. "You'll like that, won't you? Of course you will."
They left, respectively babbling, purring, fuming, and sniffling. And laughing his head off, in the case of Bozé.
a/n: Sure, fine, now Wolf cares about a cat as well as a wife and two kids.
Next up: Back to Wolf & Duna. Honest, the prompt is Domestic so, you know.
