When Oolong asks Bulma about the wish, the quartet rides in their hovercar, getting closer to the final Dragon Ball. Bulma reveals to Oolong that she plans to wish for a boyfriend with the Dragon Balls. This irritates Oolong; he cannot believe he has been risking his life so that she can have a boyfriend. Oolong suggests they wish for wealth or something that would benefit them all. Natsu then tells them that he wants to wish for Igneel's location.

Behind them, Yamcha and Puar are still following, with Yamcha excited that it is almost time for him to make his wish. Over at Pilaf's castle, Mai can use their radar to find the Dragon Balls, and Pilaf sends her and Shu to take them. The group still passes through the Diablo Desert; Mai, standing on top of a mushroom, tells Shu through a radio that they are heading his way. Shu destroys the hovercar in a Pilaf Machine and steals Bulma's case, which has all of the Dragon Balls and her Dynocaps. After Shu and Mai head back to Pilaf's Castle, Goku goes off to find the Dragon Balls but sees the robot suit Shu used in the desert. Goku thinks it is a person and attacks it. The robot falls over, so he assumes it is dead and returns to rejoin Bulma and the others.

When Bulma discovers that Goku did not get the Dragon Balls, she becomes depressed and cries. Goku cheers Bulma by saying they did not take his Dragon Ball, which he was carrying. Yamcha then makes a brave decision and offers them a ride to the Dragon Balls. They approach Emperor Pilaf's castle, and he is happy that he will finally have all seven of the Dragon Balls; he decides to put all of them in a trap. Pillars shoot out of the ground in an attempt to crush them, Bulma is almost crushed when Goku is preoccupied, but Yamcha saves her.

While Goku, Natsu, and Yamcha try to punch their way out of their prison, they soon find out that Emperor Pilaf himself is watching them. He then decided to gas them and sent his subordinates to take the four-star ball.

Pilaf and his minions then go outside to summon Shenron. Mindlessly, they opened the prison door, allowing the Dragon Ball Gang to escape. Soon after, the heroes stumble upon Emperor Pilaf. They begin chasing Emperor Pilaf, then walk into a giant pinball machine. They run from a giant pinball for a while and ultimately return where they started. Goku then uses the Kamehameha on the wall, but he only makes a little hole big enough for Oolong and Puar to shapeshift into bats and fly through, which they do. Emperor Pilaf has now summoned the dragon.

Having been summoned, the Eternal Dragon Shenron is now waiting for a wish to be made. Emperor Pilaf is too nervous being faced with the dragon to make his wish to be the ruler of Earth. Goku and Natsu use their respective abilities to break through the prison wall he and his friends are held captive. Meanwhile, Oolong rushes up to the Eternal Dragon and wishes for the world's most comfortable pair of underwear to prevent Pilaf's wish from being made at the last second.

The Dragon Balls turn to stone and scatter all around the world, not to be found for another year; this annoys Goku as the former has now lost his grandfather's prized possession and saddens Natsu since he'll have to wait a year to ask where Igneel is. An angry Pilaf orders his henchmen to kill Goku and his friends, and Shu calls out the dog police to attack them. Yamcha, Goku, and Natsu fight off the dogs. Still, afterward, Goku can no longer retaliate, having exhausted his energy from using the Kamehameha; Shu and Mai jump down and capture the group.

The group ends up in another prison; this time, it is three solid feet of steel to put a damper on any escape plans. Emperor Pilaf plans to fry them in the morning with the Sun. The Dragon Team can do nothing but wait.

"Man, this sucks now. I'll never find Igneel because of this stupid place," Natsu growled.

Bulma then turns to Natsu and asks, "You know, I've been meaning to ask what's this Igneel like?"

Natsu explains, "Well, for one, he's a dragon; he looks different from the one we just saw. He's much bigger, and he was a fire dragon king." They become invested in Natsu's story hearing how Igneel taught him his magic, the times Igneel would fly Natsu to different places, and many more. Igneel was basically Natsu's dad.

"Then, when I came back, he was gone, and I haven't been able to find him since," Natsu finished. This saddens Goku since his caretaker was also gone as well.

"Y'know, since we're sharing stories, have you guys heard of the monster that comes out during the full moon?" Goku asks. "C'mon, you don't really believe something that, do you?" Bulma says skeptically.

Goku then retorts, "But it's true my grandpa was squished to death by that monster!" This information surprises the group since the story seems far-fetched. Especially since Goku's grandpa was a great martial artist, Goku continued by saying that he couldn't see the monster because he fell asleep. It wasn't until Goku said he saw the moon before falling asleep before the rest of the group (aside from Natsu, who's too invested in the story) caught on to what most likely happened when Gohan fought the monster.

Goku finished his story, and he and Natsu noticed the others in the corner of the wall looking slightly scared. Though the others are unsure, they tell Goku not to look at the moon, but he immediately gazes at it. At first, there doesn't seem to be an issue, but then Goku's eyes suddenly turn red, and his heart starts beating rapidly; he then begins to grow bigger, his teeth sharpening and hair growing on his body. He grows too big for their prison and breaks through it, taking the form of a giant gorilla. Goku then begins destroying Pilaf's castle.

Pilaf, Shu, and Mai, all sleeping at the time, wake up and realize that something is destroying Pilaf's Castle. Pilaf gets angry and tells Shu and Mai to do something about it. Shu and Mai are only in their pajamas and have no choice but to throw objects in the bedroom at the giant Ape, such as pillows and slippers; obviously, this does not affect the monster. The Ape then continues to destroy the castle and chase the trio. They head to an airplane, where they escape from the castle.

The rest of the Dragon Team try to run from the castle, but Bulma trips and sprains her ankle. With Oolong and Puar not being strong enough to help her up, Yamcha has to overcome his fear of women and helps Bulma get away to safety; she is very thankful for this. Meanwhile, angry over the destruction of his castle, Pilaf tells Mai to turn around. Their plane starts shooting Goku but seems not to affect him. The plane then uses a heat-seeking missile and knocks the Great Ape Goku out.

Everyone then believes that Goku is dead, and Pilaf begins jumping up and down on his tail. Shu and Mai then recognize that the Ape's hands are starting to twitch and cower in fear. Great Ape Goku wakes up and chases Emperor Pilaf and his two henchmen, who then run back to their plane and try to escape. They fly off, but Goku throws a tower at the plane, causing it to crash. Yamcha finds Bulma stuck under another tower of Pilaf's castle. Yamcha lifts the tower to let Bulma out, but then they are chased again by Goku. The Ape picks Bulma up, and she screams until she passes out; then Goku starts to lick her, seemingly intent on eating her.

Puar then mentions that Goku's weak point is his tail, so Yamcha uses his power of the Wolf Fang Fist to break the castle and makes a sword out of stone, and he tries to cut off Goku's tail. This has no effect, however, and the sword shatters to pieces because it is not sharp enough to cut the tail off. Yamcha then grabs Goku's tail, helped by Oolong, while Puar turns into a pair of scissors and cuts it off. Goku drops Bulma and shrinks back to his normal form, where he ends up naked and unconscious. Pilaf is sad about his castle and orders Mai and Shu to shoot them all. Pilaf then runs in the other direction, and when Shu and Mai see this, they decide to run away with Pilaf as well.

The following day, Goku does not remember a thing about his transformation the night before, so the rest of the group agrees not to tell him about it and the fact that he is probably the monster that killed his Grandpa Gohan. Goku then finds out that his tail is gone and assumes it ran away and is given Oolong's pants to cover up. Afterward, Goku returns to Pilaf's castle's ruins to get his Power Pole.

Bulma is now mad that she could not get a boyfriend, and Yamcha is angry because he will still be shy around girls for another year, but they look at each other and gleefully decide to be boyfriend and girlfriend. When Goku returns, Bulma gives him her Dragon Radar so that he can get his grandpa's Dragon Ball in a year when they return to normal. They decide to part ways; Bulma and Yamcha plan to return to the city with Puar and Oolong tagging along. However, one of the people in the group doesn't know what to do next, that person being Natsu.

"Hey, Natsu, what are you going to do now?" Goku asks. Natsu looks at the new friends he made, wondering if he should go to the city or keep looking for Igneel on his own. Goku says, "If you're not doing anything, how we both train with the Turtle Hermit." Natsu then looks and sees the smile on Goku's face and says, "You know what I will. I'm going to be stronger so I can take on anyone." Yamcha then takes out a Jet capsule and takes off with everyone else. Goku and Natsu then get on the Flying Nimbus and head to Master Roshi's island for training, waving goodbye to Bulma, Yamcha, Oolong, and Puar.

And so the journey for these two to be the strongest starts now!

To Be Continued...

Well that's it for the Pilaf Saga; now time for the good stuff to begin.

One of the reviewers said the poll wasn't working, so I ensured it was open this time, and you should be able to vote now. Remember, if you want to vote in the reviews, say who and why.

I might have to slow down productions on future chapters until I get enough polls to make some things work.

Make sure to stick around for World Tournament Arc.

See ya
