Hestia was amazed at the quality and detail in these photos, and she loved the fact that under each one there was a little quote that explained something about the photo, it was entertaining to her, yet somehow she could feel the love that went into creating the album.
She looked at Naruto and asked him if his marriage was a happy one, he quickly corrected her, he did not marry once, he married multiple times, across many centuries, each one of these photos came from memories that he held dear, of people he either saw grow old and die or were killed in the war against the invasion of the Okutsuki Clan, these are from my older memories, and when the merger happened I hoped that I would be able to live again with my wives and eventually see my children once again, but then this happened and that was put on hold as it were."
Athena wanted to say something but she was focused on one picture of a young blonde girl as she grew up to become a stunning adult, Artemis was having a hard time accepting what she was looking at as she saw a girl in one of these pictures. Athena simply had to ask, before she could look at any other picture, "Sorry Naruto, I know this is difficult for you, but I can't get the notion that the girl in this picture here, looks an awful lot like Annabeth, my daughter, and the one right there looks like Luna, which is my niece and daughter of Artemis how could that be? Care to explain why you claim to be their father?"
Naruto didn't want to drag this out so he decided to tell them in a way that would leave little to doubt, "After my first children and wives died, I traveled the world, and eventually met two ladies, eventually I married them and had both of these girls as my daughters, in other words, in my world I met versions of you and Artemis, and I not only had children with both of you, I also married both of you."
Athena told him that doesn't make sense with what he mentioned before, that he, Sasuke, and the man they knew as Orochimaru were the last people alive in their world, but if he married her and Artemis why would that be the case? Naruto told them that during the last invasion by the Okutsuki Clan, they developed a way to seal divine power, and managed to kill all the once-worshipped deities in their world, "By the end of the war, you both died, and our daughters were killed right before me. I had nothing left in that world, that is why using that seal array we found was not such a problem, we had quite literally nothing left to lose."
Athena then asked why would he and the other person, named Sasuke prepare to fight them when they first met, most other people would be happy to see two women they married and find them alive and well, Naruto explained there was no guarantee it was them, or that they were the same people, "Illusions and Transformation techniques can be used to trick people, to make them think the person they are talking to is, in fact, the same person they think it is, we were not going to fight you, however, we needed to draw you away so no innocent bystanders would be harmed should a fight start. Didn't you find it odd that we knew who you two were before you even introduced yourselves? This is why, I know you and Artemis, it comes from the intimacy that comes from being married, and having children with you. For that matter, I know you a lot better than you know me."
This was all too confusing, everything was making Athena's head spin, and it confused Artemis hearing that she married this man even when she once decided that besides Orion, she would not marry anyone else, but the pictures she was seeing showed them as a loving couple and he was a loving father to their daughters. It was like trying to organize the waves of sand as if it is being swept by a tornado, the ideas brought more questions than answers, and each question made her doubt herself and result in even more questions.
Artemis was a great scout, warrior, hunter, and leader to the girls that joined her hunt, but not so great when it came to philosophy or other notions such as diplomacy and higher forms of reasoning, she preferred a direct and to-the-point approach rather than going around the bushes as she called it. "This is getting us nowhere, we will simply have to ask the fates about this when they come to verify who these two are, and what relationship they have with Amphitrite and Hera, otherwise we will never figure it out."
One of the guards hearing this finally decided to tell them that the fates would come to the audience chamber in a couple of hours and that the delay was due to how busy they often are, they did send an apology for making them wait since they insinuated that they knew what they wanted to know was very important.
"Very well, while we wait, I would like for Naruto to be measured and have some clothes ready for him, he must be presentable before he meets the fates, and before you say anything against this, be assured that Amphitrite is more than likely doing the same with Sasuke, you are meeting the three sisters that control the fates of every living person and creature, you have to at least make yourselves presentable, or you shall bring shame to your family."
Naruto did not like this one bit, it seemed to him this was a ploy to search him for weapons or other things he could use to resist them, but he also knew it could be for the reason Hera said, "Very well, just as long as you accept that these gloves stay on, they are a gift from someone close and dear to me, and I shall not let anyone take them from me, I am certain Sasuke feels the same."
Hera told him he could keep his gloves, and that she knew they had a storage seal on them, she knew they were carrying many things, but she was not worried about what that might be, Hera told him that she considered him her son, and as such she wanted to make sure her son was presentable when meeting the fates for the first time. "I know that I was missing from your life as you grew up, and there is nothing we can do about that, but at the very least let me do this, and help you make a good first impression."
As she said this she heard Sasuke laugh and told her how bad could it be. At least he wasn't told to dress in a way that not even the Beach Boys would consider decent, as Naruto looked at what he was wearing, he couldn't help but to laugh at him, he was wearing a deep blue, business suit, that made him look like a person that worked at a funeral home. "You have to remember, I and many of our fellow academy graduates had to endure him wearing that orange monstrosity. We even called that color, kill me orange."
Naruto didn't find that funny as he glared at him, "Hey that is not fucking fair Teme, you know damn well why I like orange, and that color often reminded me of my father's blonde hair, and my mother's red hair and you know it, so knock it the fuck off." Sasuke looked at him and told him to worry more about what Hera is going to have him wear, cause he might end up wearing something that made him wish he was wearing a monkey suit like he was.
Naruto couldn't imagine anything worse, till Sasuke reminded him these deities are Greek, which means unless he wants to end up wearing an open toga, with a laurel crown on his head, and flowers in his hair, be very careful what he says, cause someone might do that cause she thinks he might look cute in that.
"Damn it, I wish you didn't say shit like that, I get it, but she did tell me she was doing this for us to make a good first impression when we meet the sisters of Fate, no sense in worrying about that, cause you know me, I believe in Fate as much as you believe in Justice, none at all."
Hera asked him what does he mean by that so he decided to explain, "A relative of my first wife, was obsessed with divination and that fate was a force that couldn't be avoided or changed, I proved him wrong during our fight during the Chuunin Exams, and as for Sasuke, how can he believe in Justice after what happened to his brother Itachi or so many innocent people in the Uchiha Clan, all due to the manipulative lies of one man."
Sasuke simply said that evil triumphs when good men do nothing, meaning to expect everything to be solved by the very spirit of Justice without doing something about it or preventing evil acts, it would be meaningless, Naruto told his wife's cousin, that the only fate a person can truly trust is one that they make for themselves.
"So for us to meet these sisters it is only to confirm our suspicions about how our bodies have changed after the old and young versions of ourselves merge, anything else is simply extra, finding this out would also prevent Poseidon and Zeus from using this an excuse to fight each other, we all know how paranoid Zeus can be."
Naruto told this in such a brute and blunt way that even Hera told him he should not say such things about his father, at least not until he gives him the chance for him to get to know him a lot better." Sasuke told her that it would be pointless, Naruto may not look it, but is extremely well-read, and he knows mythology like the back of his hand. I wouldn't be Naruto getting to know Zeus, it would be more like Naruto checking the validity of what he once read in the village library. Athena asked him how could he know so much and be this young.
"It is not that surprising, Naruto learned and mastered the Shadow Clone Technique, and unlike most others who can do that Technique, Naruto could make an army of them, and everything the clones learns is learned by the original, so by making an army of shadow clones, Naruto can read so many books in very little time."
After hearing this, it made more sense to Athena, making copies of himself not only increased the number of combatants when he needs to fight, but also since they pass on what they learned it means they could learn and master techniques, skills, and other knowledge and Naruto would get that knowledge and experience. "He is a seal master after all, and that is not something that has been achieved many times in the history of our village. Thanks to him using Shadow Clones, he can master things that would normally take a person most of their lifetime, anyone who knows of the Rasengan would be impressed he managed to learn the technique, but in reality, they should be more impressed that he didn't only learn it, he mastered it and completed it.
Sasuke told Hera that he is not being disrespectful when he asked this verification to happen, he merely wishes to avoid any future misunderstanding that could end up harming innocent people in case this causes both Poseidon and Zeus to end up fighting against each other, due to something you would be expecting from a pair of juveniles, and not full grown men.
Zeus upon hearing Naruto say this was furious and demanded to know if he thought he was like this, or why does he have such a bad opinion of him, Naruto decided to simply use his abilities and bought a little something special for answering that particular question, "I don't have a bad opinion of just you, my opinion of Poseidon is not exactly that positive either, as for proof, I would like you to look at this masterpiece, a tapestry weaved by an absolute magnificent weaver, it is something that could only be done by someone of extraordinary skills." As Naruto looked at Athena she didn't like where this was going.
When the tapestry was revealed it was truly magnificent in color, definition, and detail, the technique that was used to make it was extremely skilled, so much so it was practically seamless. The thing that shocked both Poseidon and Zeus was that it depicted over fifteen incidents where either Zeus or Poseidon, tricked or forced themselves on mortal women, half of them in animal form while they did that. Athena wondered where the hell did Naruto get a copy of the same tapestry Arachne made for their competition.
Naruto told her that he might have seen it somewhere, or a different version of himself saw it, and if he saw it, he can replicate it, the same thing he did to make all those photos in his family album. "I believe this answers the question as to why I have such a bad opinion of you two, cheating on your wife, how shameless can you be? I was forced to join the CORA, and even then I never slept with any woman who was not first married to me and never cheated on any of my wives, ever. Such betrayal is unforgivable, and I ain't as heartless to do something like that to women I love."
As Naruto said this three beautiful ladies appeared, one was dressed in what seemed to be rather old clothes, something a grandmother would have worn when in her youth, the second was wearing clothes that were rather normal for women to wear in his village back home, and the third wore clothes that looked weird, almost alien, they reflect light in strange patterns and they seemed to be made in strange ways that made her look like she was wearing something that was made from stuff that came from outer space.
The minute that these three showed up Zeus, and Poseidon greeted them like they were immensely important people, and thanked them for coming as quickly as they did, one of them asked why were they summoned. Zeus explained that the two who were supposed to be their children wish to ask them to verify their threads of life, to determine if they were related to Zeus, Poseidon, and their wives. Being the three goddesses that control fate, they already knew this was going to happen, and both Naruto and Sasuke already knew this as well, hence why they asked in the first place.
The one dressed in the old-style clothes walked up to both Naruto and Sasuke and almost to discipline them, she plucked one hair from their heads, looked at it, and handed it to her sisters, and after a few minutes, they had the answer to their query. "It is as he suspects Naruto is the son of you King Zeus, but also the grandson of Poseidon, quite strange to see, the other thing looking at their life thread, we have determined they are not divine, demigods, but rather they are legacies. This means they both must suspect that they will be sent to Camp Half-Blood, like many of your demigod children, but sadly that is not the case, since the formation of the Camp, the law states that no legacy may enter, live or train within the Camp, and nothing can change that as long as the law remains as it is."
The one wearing the modern-looking clothes looked at Sasuke and not wanting to exclude him or ignore him she smiled, "Do not worry, I shall tell you are very much like your cousin Naruto, except you are the son of Poseidon and the grandson of Zeus. and much like Naruto, you can not be sent to Camp Half-Blood to train, at least according to the current law." It was clear to Sasuke that two of them mentioning this law had a clear intent, they hated that legacies were excluded and by mentioning this they hoped that the situation for legacies will change.
"I don't care that they are labeled a legacy or not, Naruto is and always has been my son, and I shall not let anyone tell me whether or not I can send my son to the camp or not, I made the law, so you better believe that I can change it just as easily, I am the King of the Gods, and if I want my son to go and train with other demigods in that camp, so shall it be."
The last of the three goddesses of fate smiled as she saw that his words caused the very restriction on the legacies being destroyed, legacies not being able to enter or train in the camp has left many of them unprepared and unable to defend themselves from supernatural threats, and as the one that has to deal with the cutting of a life thread, this caused her a lot of work and grief.
She stepped towards Zeus and his wife, and she took out something from her pocket which turned out to be a book, that looked like it had a cover made of gold and was struck by sunlight as it shined. "I am grateful for you doing this, it will prevent the needless deaths of so many legacies, as a sign of my gratitude, I shall tell you to be aware of your son Naruto, whose intentions are hidden from you, but not us, he would kidnap and take the children whom he sees as versions of his daughters back with him when he returns from where he came. This book is book that will show you everything you wish to know about either Naruto or Sasuke, past, present, and even their future goals and intentions, you only need to touch it and request a copy of this book by naming the person you wish to know about, a book on Naruto or a book on Sasuke, it is only a request away, this is my gift for your act of kindness. All the gods and goddesses present requested a copy of both books one about Naruto and the other about Sasuke.
They all returned to their thrones and when they sat down they began to go over what was written in their books, like a bunch of Academy students cramming to prepare for an end-of-year Academy exam. Naruto looked at her and he tried his best to calm down and resist the pure rage he was feeling when he asked why would she do this. What is so wrong that he wanted to regain his daughters and have them back in his life again? He had to see them die once already, but seeing them alive and well, how could he not want to have them back in his life? They are his precious daughters and he loves them regardless of time or distance.
"I just wanted my precious daughters back, after everything that I went through, all the crap that I had to go through in life, this should not be so strange to anyone, what father has not wished that they could have their child back, especially if they had died in such a tragic and needless way."
Sasuke hit him hard on the top of his head and told him nothing excuses kidnapping another person's children, they are from a different world, another reality, think how the parents of those children would think before coming up with something this insane, selfish or downright cruel, he would be inflicting the same pain and loss on others, except what he called tragic and needless is them dying simply because they died of old age.
"Look, we are blessed with the chance to live again thanks to two versions of ourselves merging like that, we also happen to have an extraordinarily long life thanks to being the sons of the Sage of Six Paths, Orochimaru is the only one that could outlive us, did you plan to somehow get Orochimaru to use those and turn these children into what he is? Cause even if you somehow took them, they will eventually grow old and die. Even if we grow old, only these people don't because they are not mortals. Get it, knucklehead? Or do you need another punch to get the notion into that thick skull of yours!"
Naruto was quick to mention like he was any better, as he rubbed his head for a second, "Like you wouldn't want to see your daughters again, I know how sad you were to see them die, don't tell me you wouldn't want to hold your children again." Sasuke told him that he did even after they grew up, and had a family of their own, he even help his grandchildren, would he like to have the joys of being a parent again? Yes, but not if it means ruining the lives of other people. Even if he tried to ignore the moral violations that is, he would be no better than that evil bastard, and Naruto asked him one question, would he want to be just like Danzo?
Cause he either kidnapped children or outright caused the death of the parents to make those children orphans, that he stole anyways to build his brainwashed cult of followers, or did he forget the horrors that those children went through to end up as members of Root? Does he want to be like the man who is in Sasuke's humble opinion the very embodiment of Evil? Sasuke did mention hower his strong dislike if not outright hatred of the man could have made him a bit biased.
Poseidon once had lived under the name of Fugaku Uchiha, and as the former clan head he wanted to know exactly what did Danzo Shimura do to cause Sasuke to hate him so intensely, Sasuke did not spare any details and was quite blunt when describing what Danzo had done to the Uchiha Clan, and to top it off he butchered and stole the eyes of the dead clan members.
"As you know, upon the death of a member of our clan, those eyes are removed and preserved, to treat any clan member who has gone blind from overusing their eyes or due to physical injury, that was the law regarding our eyes, but Danzo ignored it altogether, and stole most of the eyes for himself, he had Orochimaru inject cells from the First Hokage, to recreate his arm, and in that arm he had many of these stolen eyes implanted, and of course one in his head to replace the one he lost. This was the goal of the massacre, to kill us all with little regard for us, treating us no better than cattle to be butchered. So excuse me if I hate the bastard that did that."
Hera asked him if there was any way to learn more details and possibly look into what happened in other realities, Naruto laughed and told her that is what the books the fates gave them are probably for, there are probably dozens if not millions of stories regard either him or Sasuke in that book, but six come to mind that would be the most relevant to them, since it does offer information of what could happen in the future and potential threats to their world. "Every story will give you a look into different possibilities, and much knowledge about events that are yet to occur, forewarned is forearmed, knowing this information could help you and even the demigods in that camp and other camps prepare and minimize potential harm. For instance, if someone stole something important to Mt. Olympus, this could tell you who is a probable suspect of that theft and avoid making rash decisions."
