Avenging Flash
Chapter Three: God of Thunder.
"Kneel before me." Loki commanded to the obviously terrified crowd.
The crowd looked on in confusion, some of them unable to understand English but knowing this horned man was threatening them.
"I Said Kneel!" Loki yelled, slamming his sceptre into the ground, creating four mirage like sentries. Surrounding the crowd on all sides, keeping them boxed in like sheep. The whole group fell to their knees, eyes locked on the ground.
"Is this not simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity, that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity. In the end, you will always Kneel." Loki told them as he walked within the crowd, a smile on his face as he took in the feeling of control he held over them all.
Or at least, the control he thought he had.
"Not to men like you."
"There are no men like me."
"There are ALWAYS men like you."
Loki frowned, his face turning red with anger for a brief moment at what the man had said. Did this old fool really just defy him? Well then.
"Look to your elder people, let him be an example." Loki said, his face turning dark and emotionless. He'd show these mortals why they should keep kneeling before him.
A single energy blast surged forwards, racing towards the older man-
Only to be absorbed by a metal disc with a white star in the middle, then that same disc was thrown forwards and struck Loki in the stomach.
"You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everyone else, we ended up disagreeing." Steve glared, catching his shield as it returned to him.
"Heh, the soldier " Loki chuckled, pushing himself up of the ground with a twisted grin on his face. Ignoring the pain in his body as he did so. Once he was up, all the innocent bystanders were gone in a flash, and Barry appeared at Steve's side, sparking with orange electricity.
"Ah, And the speedster, I am truly honoured to be before thee" Loki drawled sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
"Loki, drop the sceptre before things get ugly." Natasha ordered, using the shield quinjet's external speaker to talk to him.
The god of mischief rolled his eyes before firing an energy blast up at the jet, which the vehicle narrowly missed before opening fire with its mounted chain gun.
Loki rushed forwards, sending a blast of blue energy before him, causing Barry to go flying backwards as Steve rolled to the left.
Captain America knocked Loki's head aside with his shield before trying to take the sceptre from his hand, only for Loki to knee him in side and unleash a blast of energy that sent Steve backwards.
Barry got up, lightning sparking in his eyes-
Suddenly Some rock music
Was blasted down their earpieces when Newcomer. The Iron Man himself, Tony Stark. Made his dramatic flying entrance with a double shot of repulsor energy, forcing Loki to his knees, causing the man's helmet to fly off of his head.
"Your move reindeer games." Tony threatened upon landing, opening up all the weapon compartments on his suit, showing off missiles, tank darts, repulsor canons and other offensive weapons to the Asgardian.
Loki glared at stark but put up his hands, Willing away his armour and helmet with a thought.
"Huh, nice move." Stark Complimented, still aiming at the man. Not taking his eyes off of him.
"Stark." Steve greeted with a nod as he walked up to the man, holding his bruised side.
"Captain," Tony returned the gesture, closing some of his weapons away, but not all of them.
"If you hadn't had showed up I would have taken him." Barry muttered, rubbing his arm as he flashed over to them.
"Sure thing kid..."

"Seeing anything?" Fury asked Widow.
The young woman took a moment to look at the various scanning equipment before replying. "Not a word."
The group had grabbed Loki and seated him on the Quinjet before leaving Germany. They needed to get him secured on the Helicarrier, then they could interrogate him.
Barry had opted to stay behind and help with the clean-up, he wanted to make sure everyone was alright and safe.
The rest of the group had left soon after.
But in the hours it had been since taking Loki into custody, the situation had turned quiet, too quiet.
It had been way to easy to capture Loki, the man was stubborn, self righteous and immensely powerful. He should have fought to the bitter end, but instead he did nothing of the sought. Merely surrendering the moment Stark showed up.
It didn't make any sense. So Fury told the team to keep an eye on the Asgardian, because he obviously had a plan. They couldn't afford to let their guard down around him.
"Just get him here, we're low on time."
With the tesseract nowhere to be find, time was of the essence. The cube was a disaster waiting to happen.
It could power immense weapons, create portals to different worlds, or even blow up entire cities.
None of which Shield could let happen.
"I don't like it." Steve told a now helmetless Iron Man, turning his head to look at Loki before once again facing his comrade.
"What, wrath of the ages giving up so easily?" Tony replied, eyebrow raised. He knew exactly what Cap was saying.
"I don't remember it being this easy. That guy packs a mean wallop." The WW2 hero muttered.
"Still, you are pretty spry for an older fellow." Stark joked, a small smirk on his face.
Steve gave him an 'are you serious' look in return.
"Then again you have missed a few things, you know doing time as a Capsicle." The playboy added, loving the fact he was getting under the great Captain America's skin.
"Fury didn't tell me he was calling you in." Steve stated.
Tony snorted. "Yeah there's a lot Fury isn't telling you."
Suddenly a crackle of lightning lit up the night sky, creating a small lightshow outside the jet's see-through viewports. "Where is this coming from?" Widow wondered.
She had checked the weather scanner multiple times before the took off, that way she could plan out a safe and quick route back to base, and not once did the instruments show that a lightning storm was going to appear in this region.
Loki, for his part, looked worried. Not scared, just worried. Like the storm was somewhat familiar to him.
"What's the matter, afraid of a little lightning?" Steve asked, eyebrow raised.
Loki glared at the man before replying. "I'm not overly fond of what follows."
THUNK.
Something Collided with the top of the Quinjet.

Barry ran through an immense forest, dodging low hanging branches and sharp rocks as he followed the path Natasha had laid out for him.
Imagine his surprise when he came across Iron Man and Captain America fighting an unusually garbed man who was wielding a metal hammer.
"Whoa, guys. What's the issue here? I leave you alone for a few minutes and the situation goes to crap?" the teenager exclaimed, coming to a stop in the middle of the trio.
"Stay out of this kid, this isn't your fight." Stark told him.
"Exactly, its not my fight. And it's not yours either. Our fight is with the green wearing sociopath Who is currently watching you idiots fight from the top of a mountain. He is our enemy, and right now we are wasting time by doing this. So put down the weapons and talk this out!" Barry exclaimed, folding his arms and glaring at the older heroes.
And people said he wasn't mature...
Tony thought about it for a moment before dropping his arms, powering down his repulsors as he did so.
Thor lowered his hammer to his side, still glaring at the armoured man but no longer showing any hostility.
"Thank you Flash. I was trying to get them to listen, but they wouldn't." Steve said with a sigh, shaking his head as he placed his shield back onto its magnetic plate on his back.
"No problem Cap, now shall we?" Barry replied, gesturing to the slowly descending Quinjet that was trying to find an open area go land.
{An hour and a half later}
Nick fury circles Loki before walking over to a small console, there he types out a code before pressing a button down.
"In case it's unclear, you try to escape, you so much as scratch that glass.."
A hole opened up beneath Loki's cell, showing the mischievous being his future fate if he was ever tempted to damage his jail.
"30,000 feet. Straight down in a steel trap, you get how that works? Ant, boot." The director of shield smirked, closing the hole up again once his prisoner had gotten a good look.
"Its an impressive cage, not built I think, for me." Loki replied with a smirk.
"It's built for something a lot stronger than you." Nick retorted.
"Oh I've heard. A mindless beast, makes play his still a man. Or perhaps its for the child who wields the power of a god, speeding from one disaster to a next." The god of mischief states, looking directly into one of the cameras that he knows his enemies are watching him through.
On the bridge of the Helicarrier, Harrison Wells turns to look at cisco and Caitlin, anger evident in his eyes. Their allies had built a way to capture their friend. To possibly even kill him. That was not acceptable!
~ - ~
"How desperate are you, that you call on such lost creatures to defend you." Loki wonders, turning go look back at Nick once he is finished talking.
"How desperate am I, you threaten my world with war, you steal a force you can't hope to control, you talk about peace and you kill because its fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did." The man replies, glaring with his one eye.
"It burns you to have come so close...to have the tesseract, to have power. Unlimited power, and for what...a warm light for all mankind to share. Only to then be reminded what REAL power is." Loki
Nick freezes for just a moment. Shock on his face. How does this person know about the top secret plans he and the world council had written out, they were years in the making, and heavily classified! But then he remembers that the man before him isn't human, he's essentially a god. One that deals in lies and secrets. He should have expected Loki to know all his plans.
"Well let me know if real power wants a magazine or something." Nick grumbles, leaving the room to go and talk with the group of superhero's he was currently hosting.
{Back on the bridge}
"He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Cisco jokes, trying to distract himself from the fear he was feeling.
Steve sighs. "Loki is going to drag this out, hes going to try and buy enough time for his minions to complete whatever mission he's given them. We need to know his endgame, Thor what's his play?"
"He has an army called the Chitauri, they are not of Asgard or any world known. He means to lead them against your people, they will win him the earth, In turn I suspect, for the tesseract." Thor explains.
"An army, from outer space." Caitlin mutters, eyes wide.
"So Loki is going to open another portal. Thats what he needs Doctor Selvig for." Harrison points out.
"Selvig, as in Erik Selvig?" Thor assumes.
"Yes, he's an astrophysicist." Cisco told him.
"He's also my friend." Thor replies, to which cisco has no rebuttal.
"Loki has him under some kind of spell, as well as one of our own"
Cisco groans and rolls his eyes, tapping his fingers on the table before opening his mouth.
"Don't-" Harrison warns him, but the curly haired young man couldn't help himself.
"Its not a spell, its mind control. The sceptre taps into the conscious and subconscious and replaces the 'good' inclinations you have with the 'bad' ones. Swapping right from wrong and ect, it also links the victim to the person who uses the sceptre." Cisco explains, he had studied the sceptre and so felt it within his right to correct the super assassin.
"And he did it anyway." Barry mutters, face palming.
"Where does the pipsqueak find the guts to correct Black Widow?" One of the shield guards muttered to himself.
"I want to know why Loki let us capture him, he's not leading an army from behind bulletproof glass." Steve interrupts, trying to get the conversation back on track.
"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki, his brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell the crazy on him." Banner muttered.
"Have care how you speak of Loki, he may be beyond reason, but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother." Thor stated, annoyed by the casual insults that were being thrown Loki's way.
"He killed eighty people in two days." Widow pointed out.
"He's adopted." Thor tried to reason.
Barry lost it there and then, unable to keep himself from laughing. He apologised to Thor before leaving the room, giggling under his hand.
Cisco himself was smirking, as was Doctor Wells. But they quickly composed themselves after thor glared at them. "I think it's the mechanics, iridium. What do they need it for?" Bruce asked.
"Its a stabilising agent." Tony said, having walked in with Agent Coulson by his side, having a casual conversation before splitting off go join the group near the main table.
"Which means the portal won't collapse in on itself like it did at shield, also it means that the portal can open as wide and stay open as long as Loki needs it to be." He added, the man then walks up to the various crystal monitors, looking over them with a keen eye.
He then made a few ship rearing jokes that went over everybody's head before pointing at a single seated agent. "That man is playing Centipede, and thought we wouldn't notice. But we did."
