"Hello Ms. Swan... Welcome to Gevonia! I'm Jane Volturi here." I was welcomed by one of the royal staff as I landed at Gevonia airport.
"Hi Jane, it's really nice to meet you in person," I smiled.
"Same here. I'm really glad to meet you. Hope you had a great flight," she smiled, "This way, please. My assistants will help you with your hair and makeup."
I took a deep breath.
I guess I couldn't leave the airport just like that!
Okay, this was already a different world, and I hadn't even left the airport yet.
"Sure," I smiled.
It's been more than three years since Edward and I had decided to give a serious chance to our relationship, and well, I was so glad we had made that decision.
We were still going strong. There were ups and downs, but our relationship survived, because both of us didn't want anything else.
Things were getting better with the families, too.
Edward had met my family, and they all loved him.
For me... Well, I met his family during the graduation, and it went better than expected. They all were quite friendly with me. We eventually managed to sort out the issues with Emmett, and things were back to normal.
It was my first visit to Gevonia. Edward had asked me a couple of times to come with him, but then we discarded that idea. It might have been because we both were afraid of the unknowns. We were doing well in the states, and we didn't want any kind of disruption. We didn't want to have any new factor impacting our relationship.
But now we completed the graduation, and we were back to the 'real world'!
I had started a job last month, and Edward was back here.
They had a special celebration planned for their graduation, and we thought this might be the right occasion for me to get properly introduced as his girlfriend!
There he was.
I saw him smiling at me as I made my way towards the car, and all my nervousness vanished.
"Welcome home, baby," He smiled and hugged me.I saw a few people grinning as they watched us together.
I was very conscious as people around us were watching us. And surprisingly, Edward was also very stiff.
He was constantly smiling, but his smile wasn't reaching eyes.
There was so much security around him, and he looked like a very commanding leader. It's like he was completely a different person here!
"How was your flight?" He said as we settled on the back seat of the car.
"It was good," I smiled, "How are you doing?"
"Good," he smiled.
Yeah... Look at him. Something was wrong!
Then I suddenly remembered we were supposed to get the test results for Carlisle today.
Shit!
How could I forget about that?
What a horrible girlfriend she was!
"Not now," he whispered.
Oh!
So he didn't want to discuss that in the car?
It seemed bad!
I felt my heart beating fast as I thought about the worst case scenario.
No!
I shouldn't think like that.
"Everything will be fine," I said as I put my hand on his, but he continued to stare outside of the window.
He was scaring me.
And then he took the phone out and typed something.
"He doesn't have much time left." I received a text from him.
