I do not own the copyrights to Fantasy Island
* my OC's (original character) from my FF On Behalf of Her Friends also a Fantasy Island FF
** another OC from the same FI FF as Aida
I thank my first beta-reader for going over this. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a hold of my second one. Mistakes are still my own.

Catherine
Ch. 1
The day had not started out typical, on purpose. Roarke had felt it necessary to have his first guest come alone as her fantasy had, without her knowledge, solved a personal dilemma created by the second. One he could not focus on at the moment. Hence, he was now standing with Aida at the dock with only one guest stepping off the plane instead of two.
Their guest was a woman of medium frame and average height. Her dusty brown hair was on the darker side, and she wore a western shirt along with jeans and cowboy boots. A purse with plenty of bling hung from her shoulder.
"Who is she? Does she want some grand adventure an old western town?" *Aida came up with a few other ideas only to have Roarke shake his head. Tattoo and **Jen were off on vacation hence Aida stepping in and helping out.
"Catherine Hans is simply wanting to reconnect with a friend -one she met while temporarily living in Tennessee. They lost contact when Christy-Anne and her husband moved away suddenly with no warning. They reconnected later out west and became best buddies. Catherine now wishes to surprise her and convince her to join with her in our own highland games this weekend."
"Highland games? Dressed like that?" Aida's eye muscles moved up and gave her boss an 'are you crazy' look before asking since when did the island have those type of games anyway.
"First, her choice of clothes is really none of our business, is it?" Aida conceded to his point. "As to the games...since now." Roarke straightened his jacket, welcomed the newcomer to their island, and helped Catherine into the jeep and took her to his office.
The drive was short and uneventful. No islander passed them by as they were all busy setting up for the games. No other cars whizzed by as Roarke took a side road to his office. And not even a plane flew overhead as the one Catherine had come on had flown out in the opposite direction.
"So, my dear friend has no idea I am here?" Catherine gushed with excitement." Her voice carried through the window without her even trying.
"No, but she will if you don't lower your voice." Aida spoke in a sassy tone which really did need to be adjusted; Roarke clearing his throat did just that.
"Sorry." Catherine did her best to do just that. "Guess I've just gotten so used to working in the theatre this past summer I forget it's over."
"It's okay, last time I checked..." Mr. Roarke spoke as he straightened papers. "...Christy-Anne won't be flying to this side of the island until tomorrow morning anyway, so it's not like your voice is that loud."
His eyes might as well have held the ability to give orders for Aida to apologize for admitting she was in the wrong was promptly done.
"I really was out of line, and I do sincerely apologize. Forgive me? I have just had a few rough days. Apparently, I've let it get to me more than I thought." Aida was assured there was no ill feelings. Roarke's help exited the room to take care of her own responsibilities freeing her boss to focus on their guest.
"How long has Christy lived here anyway?"
"Not long." He leaned forward and asked just how well she knew Christy-Anne. "I mean, it's been a while, you even admitted that. Do you really think your old friend will stick around when she finds out why this trip was instigated?"
"At one point I knew her extremely well." Catherine grinned wide. "She was up to any kind of sporting game." Her smiled faded. "I must confess it's been a few years since I've seen her." The lady did not mention why her down turned mouth but quickly a shine came back into her eyes. "I am sure I can get her to stay."
Roarke did not have to ask why Catherine had- temporarily- lost her smile, but he also realized it would do no good for him to think about it; that fact would come out as soon as he talked to his second guest.
"So, why did you have me come before your other guest? Shouldn't we have been on the same plane?" Catherine knew how the normal routine simply because the pilot had happened to have mentioned it on the flight to the island; a fact Roarke was not pleased with and said as much.
"It wasn't his place to mention that to you. Do not worry about it." He stood up and handed her the key to her bungalow. "If you are serious about those games you might consider changing your style of clothing."
"Oh, it's not me that would be doing the events." Catherine laughed. "I'm an actress not a highland games participator." She took the key and left Roarke shaking his head.
