I own nothing
Later that day
"Alright everyone, let's begin," Abasdarhon said. "How about we start with the lie of the Spirit King, ok?"
Everyone nodded, though Loki was hesitant to hear about the little rabbit that stole "her" Aiz.
"So the Spirit King was born in a poor town in the Spirit Kingdom. He had a pure heart and soul, when he was seven, his town was massacred, and his entire family and all his friends died, Bell was the only survivor of the massacre." Abasdarhon said grimly.
A projection of a burning town with a little white-haired boy watching from the top of a hill, tears running down his face, and blood covering his clothes, was displayed on the wall.
Everyone looked on in horror. Though Bell was staring at it with a look of painful familiarity, "You really have a sick sense of humor huh, doing it once wasn't good enough." Bell whispered looking up, "Huh, God?"
"Bell spent years fighting for survival and learning to fight in the wilderness. Eventually, he found out about the resistance against the corruption of the Kingdom. Bell joined in the fight against the corrupt king.
Three years into his time in the revolution I met him, I was a young spirit, you see in the Spirit Kingdom lesser spirits are lesser nobles, whereas great spirits are greater nobles. I was a lesser spirit that run away from home to escape the corruption of the kingdom.
Bell found me alone and scared in the woods and took me in. He trained me and protected me. Though one day when we were on one of our missions to attack the king's men Bell was captured protecting me. He was our leader, so in response, we declared war on the Kingdom, we gained support from a lot of people across the Kingdom.
We found him two months later, they had tortured him trying to get information, but he never broke, he never told them a thing. We rescued him, and he led us in the revolution. Soon he met two great spirits that supported the revolution, Albert the great spirit of swordsmanship, and Aria the great spirit of wind. Albert and Aria were his generals and closest advisors.
After nearly five years the war came to an end when Bell and his armies stormed the capital and defeated the king. Bell left the punishment of the king up to the people. The king had starved his people and killed them for no reason, he was a terrible king, so he was given execution. Bell took his blade and took the head off of the king.
Despite Bell not even have been a spirit, he was a hero. But we needed a new king, and we knew the person who we believed to be the best to fill that role, though they first had to pass the test of the crown. We chose Bell to face the test of the crown to see if he would be chosen.
When a person is chosen the crown will glow when placed on their head. When we put it on Bell's it didn't glow. He only said he would search for the one who would lead the kingdom to greatness. When Bell said those words the crown shone upon his head. He had passed the test.
Three days later we crowned him before the entire kingdom. When he was crowned though he disappeared in a flash of white, he was returned unconscious fifteen seconds later. When he was returned he had an aura around him, the aura of a spirit, of a spirit more powerful than even the strongest of great spirits.
We found out later that he was made a spirit, he never really told us who did it or how he was. He is the spirit of light, hope, joy, heroes, the heavens (sky), combat, loyalty, and justice." Abasdarhon finished. Everyone looked shocked. Bell however looked like he was having deja vu. "It's all coming back to you, right? My King?" Abasdarhon asked, Bell nodded confirming this.
"Oh, is that all?" Bell asked sarcastically. Abasdarhon looked at him with a deadpan stare. "Oh fuck you!" He yelled. "What else!?"
"My liege you have a very special job given to you by the one who gave you your powers. Your job was to watch over and ensure that the gods, spirits, pallums, dwarves, elves, demi-humans, etc, stayed in line and obeyed the natural order of the world, if one stepped out of line, it was your job wp remind them of their place.
Let's say Zeus massacred an entire village of innocent people for no reason, it was your job to go up to the upper realm and beat him to the floor." Abasdarhon said. Everyone looked at Bell in shock again, and some with fear.
Bell was about to scream at them to stop looking at him, especially like that, he's had enough people look at him with fear in his life, and he was more than sick of it. However, he understood that as much as he wanted to he couldn't, since no one really knew his past, he'd share some parts about it with her, but nothing close to the truth. Bell knew if anyone understood why he did what he did, it would be her, they did the same thing for the same reasons after all. Though where Ryuu was hated and feared, Bell was feared and respected, where people spoke of the Gale with disdain, only the bravest or most foolish would even dare to whisper his name, and when they did they spoke no ill of it, 'The Crimson King' was his name or title bestowed upon him. But his past was a story for another day.
"So any questions?" Abasdarhon asked. Nearly every hand went up.
"So let me get this straight, Bell is the fabled 'Spirit King' reborn, he has four wives, all of whom are some of his close friends, he was a revolutionary, he was or is a spirit with the power to defeat gods, and he was given a mission to ensure the natural order and the ancient laws were upheld?" Alfia asked for confirmation. Abasdarhon nodded. And that did not make Alfia feel all that better.
"So how could Mr. Cranel have the power to defeat even gods?" Riveria asked the question many people had on their minds.
"I'm not sure, I just know that the person who gave him his powers gave him the power to do that. No, I don't know who it was, but he said it wasn't a god, someone greater than any god. And yes, he has the power to beat gods, I'm not exaggerating, I watched him do it, several different times." Abasdarhon replied.
"Can Bell gain his power back, or can any of us get our memories or power back from our past lives?" Welf asked.
Abasdarhon smiled. "Yes, in fact, Bell already has been getting some of his memories. Soon he will regain them all, then when he does so he will gain his power too. However, only the person who regains their memories will know how to fully break the seal and release everyone else's memories and power, and since his majesty was the one to start to regain his memories then only he knows how to truly break the seal. I was told once the person begins to gain their memories, it will be no more than a week until they regain all of them." Abasdarhon turned to Bell and bowed his head respectfully, "So, your majesty, forgive my insolence, but when did you start to regain your memories?"
"Four days ago, however when I took a nap a little while ago, I saw a lot more than I have before. I saw my past childhood." Bell responded, though there was something in his voice that only a few noticed, but only one knew what it was, and why it was there. Nostalgia, a painful nostalgia, nostalgia of both of his childhoods, both of them stripped away and destroyed. Leaving two children, broken, alone, and full of anger, and a thirst for vengeance. Ryuu, Ryuu was the only one who knew about it though, she didn't know just how big of an impact it truly left on Bell, he after all only told her some of what happened on floor 36.
"So very soon, I suspect by tomorrow you should awaken your memories, then you can awaken the memories of everyone else, then we can all go to Oario after all preparations have to be made for the resurrection of the demon lord," Abasdarhon said, reminding everyone that the war with the demon lord would be upon them sooner than they knew, and they were scared by that. Though in Bell's case, he was more scared about the secrets that would come out of all of this, the memories of this life, and the last. But what he feared more than facing everyone after he had lied to them about so much, no, what he feared is facing the demons he had long since buried, but they would always come back, they never left, they just waited, and waited, like a serpent waiting to strike. Though the demons he buried weren't just internal, they were also external.
"I think what we should do is let everyone think, collect themselves, and whatnot, I think for about a day will be okay. Or in the case of his and her highnesses, figure out what to do." Abasdarhon said.
"Abasdarhon," Bell said. His voice was serious, Abasdarhon looked shocked and immediately bowed on one knee. Everyone felt his presence before they even saw him, they all felt nothing but insignificance, they all felt the overwhelming urge to just get on their knees and bow to him, he exerted the aura of a king, not some false king that had to flaunt riches or jewels to make his royalty known, or pronounce himself king before others, no his aura spoke for itself.
"Abasdarhon, I order you, as your king and master, the Spirit King, I order you, you are to refer to me as Bell unless the situation calls for formality, are we clear?" Bell commanded, and everyone that knew Bell was stunned, stunned since they never thought he could be so commanding and powerful.
"Yes, my lor-Bell," Abasdarhon said. Bell smiled at him calling him by his name.
Until next time!
