Bonus Chapter (Luna Lovegood Loves Life)

It was the summer break and Luna Lovegood was in a good mood.

She was at the Rook with her Father.

Also with them was her Mother's Portrait which was in possession of one of the Dummy Bodies.

She smiled thinking how Harry had done the next best thing as bringing her Mother back to her.

Sure there were the odd awkward moments when she heard her Father and the Dummy doing things but that was what Silencing Charm's were invented for.

She was just glad thee Trace was ineffective in houses with an adult magical present.

She was currently sat outside by the nearby lake.

Her feet were shoeless and she dangled them into the col crisp lake water.

She hummed contently as he pale face looked up into the sky.

She watched the clouds move slowly across the pure blue sky.

But in typical Luna fashion she also saw things most could not.

For example she smiled as she watched the pig like things mantis looking scythes carve the clouds into shapes with their scythes.

Luna had taken to calling them Oinking Sculpties.

And as these creatures had a degree of pre-cognition one could learn of what's to come if one only paid attention to the clouds.

And yet her mind wasn't on them like it normally would be.

Instead she was thinking of the aftermath of the Battle of the Ministry as it was being dubbed.

It was a huge success for the ARA especially if you consider the party that followed. And

A party in which Luna received her first kiss.

And from Astoria Greengrass no less.

This was all thanks to a Muggle game of spin the bottle.

And from how into it both Astoria and Luna were it was like the surrounding vanished into nothingness.

Luna smiled thinking of how they spent the remainder of the evening getting to know one another.

Both told how they were fond of both Witches and Wizards.

Since then Astoria and Luna had remained in contact over the summer.

Both talking about anything and everything.

It was nice.

Especially after Luna spotter the signs of a blood Malediction in the youngest Greengrass.

Obviously she took her over to Helga Hufflepuff who was in control of one of the dummies at the time.

She told Helga of what she saw and the healer of the Founders instantly began scanning young Astoria.

Thankfully they had caught it in time for Helga to be able to do something about it.

All it would require was a few years of a heavy potions regime designed by the Founder.

Astoria as you can imagine then showed Luna her appreciation by dragging her into one of Grimmauld Places spare rooms for an enjoyable few hours later.

Luna blushed just thinking about it.

Also of note since the Battle Of The Ministry.

At least in Luna's opinion is the amount of Death Eater's and Order members that have been sentenced to Azkaban.

Which has since had a complete overhaul to maintain the security of the prisoners.

She smiled thinking of Harry's idea's in that regard.

Thanks to that there won't be any more break out's happening any time soon.

After all he had created a ward that combined both his Curse which made people relive their worst memories.

And also placed the entire structure under a Modified Fidelius Charm.

Luna was proud of her friend who she was coming to see more and more as a surrogate Big Brother.

His efforts as definitely making the world a better place.

Especially with what she learned since discovering the Crumple Horned Snorcack.

Through them she was able to learn what happened to her other timeline's self.

She became a mere shadow of her former self after receiving the usual Death Eater treatment during an incarceration at Malfoy Manor.

It resulted in her Aborting the foetus that had it been brought to term would have had distinctly Malfoy like features.

Weather the Father was Lucius or his son however she was unable to tell.

But either way she was glad that had been averted.

Lucius was dead, as well was crouch Junior, and the Lestrange brothers, and a whole host of Death Eater Minions.

Unfortunately Bellatrix managed to survive but would be as scared as Mad Eye thanks to Harry's efforts.

Their master had also made an escape using that weird Smokey flying thing he does.

Luna then thought of the Order Of The Phoenix.

They too were in a similar state.

Dumbledore had escaped with only a handful of his followers.

The rest were either dead or arrested.

Both Dumbledore and Voldemort were now marked as Undesirables One and Two.

Due to that Dumbledore had finally been stripped of his final position as Headmaster.

And since Snape's unfortunate incident with Grawp.

One that left him in the form of a female and heavily pregnant after only a few weeks due to the foetus having three quarter giant blood and all Luna thought with a snort.

Also due to the large amounts of Giant blood in the foetus any attempts to abort it would be pointless as it would be heavily resistant to those magics.

Harry's revenge on the man just further proved why you don't' mess with Harry Potter.

Sure he could have just killed Snape but Harry was a believer that there were far worse things than Death.

An opinion he was making others readily believe in.

As for the Alchemical Polyjuice Harry had made sure it wouldn't' run it's course until long after Snape was forced to give birth.

And as Snape was no longer fit to act as Head Of Slytherin and as a professor.

He had been forced to resign.

And with that Professor Slughorn retained his role as Head Of Slytherin.

And with three Heads of Houses on his side Harry was able to use the Founders plan they had been working on.

This enabled him to prevent McGonagall from becoming the new Headmistress.

Something that left her hissing with rage like her cat form.

Instead the role of Headmaster now fell to Professor Flitwick.

And his Deputy became Professor Sprout.

And just in time too.

Apparently Dumbledore and McGonagall were going to use the individuals who had gone to France for their O.W.L's in one of their ploys.

This would garner Hogwarts a huge increase in reputation due to how well the students who went to France did.

The idea was something along the lines of touting how advanced the Hogwarts curriculum was compared to the rest of Europe's in a vain hope of regaining Hogwarts long lost reputation as the pre-emanate Magical School in Europe.

This was something that her Father and the Quibbler is taking great pride on reporting on.

Her Father hasn't been happier.

Which as you can imagine made Luna happy.

All in all things were going well for Luna.

And she wondered what the future had in store for her.

She then blushed when she spotted a cloud in the sky that looked suspiciously like Astoria.

"I could think of worse futures I suppose" she said to herself.

Luna was at Grimmauld place.

Harry just walked in looking exhausted.

He had been gone for the last three and a half weeks.

She watched as Hermione darted towards Harry almost knocking him off his feet.

But he managed to maintain his footing and keep them both standing.

"How did it go?" Hermione asked excitedly.

"They certainly live up to their name" Harry said.

"And as I never took my N.E.W.T's in the other timeline it was completely new to me" Harry added.

They then sat at the dining table.

There was Daphne and Tracey.

Neville, and Susan.

Padma, and Parvati and Lavender all from Harry's year present.

There were also younger people like Luna herself and Astoria who's hand she was holding under the table.

Harry began detailing his three week trip to France where he spent time in the Veela Enclave again while taking his N.E.W.T's

He took the exams for every subject he took an O.W.L for previously.

And as Dumbledore, Voldemort, and Grindlewalds scores had been pushed down the rankings in O.W.L's so too was the idea to do so with the N.E.W.T's.

Obviously however It was quite the work load.

Especially as most poople only take the core subjects and one maybe two electives at most at the N.E.W.T level.

But Harry is no ordinary person.

That and there was also a reason Harry needed to take his N.E.W.T's so soon.

As you can imagine with Professor Flitwick taking on the Headmaster's position there was an opening for the role of Charm's professor.

And Flitwick wanted to fill that role with Harry.

Of course this would make Harry the youngest every professor in Hogwarts History.

And as Flitwick had such high expectations of him, Harry couldn't let his head of house down.

Well former Head Of House as that role would also fall to Harry.

Luna found it quite amusing really.

As Harry was going to be head Boy this year according to Flitwick if he hadn't gone along with Flitwicks ideals.

And instead he skipped that step straight into Head Of House and Professor.

Of course to sweeten the deal Harry would be able to work on his Masteries in his free time.

Slughorn, and Flitwick were more than willing to help Harry study for them in their respective subjects.

Luna then looked at Hermione who was smiling proudly.

But given the look in her eyes she can imagine she would be dragging Harry off for some fun.

"I wonder how they are going to handle him being a Professor?" Luna wondered.

There was a part of her that thought Hermione would respect the position and act professionally.

But there was another part that looked into her chocolate brown eyes and thought she would be oddly titillated by the idea.

"Guess I can only wait and see" Luna thought.

It was an opinion apparently shared by the others present if their expressions were anything to go by.

What followed was a celebration in Harry's honour.

Luna smiled at how shy and reserved Harry appeared around them.

It was a trait she respected in her surrogate Big Brother.

Harry however politely accepted all the praise heaped upon him.

He did so with grace and humility.

Something Luna thought would be an impossibility for Dumbledore and Vodemort if they were in Harry's shoes.

And unlike the celebration after the victory in the Ministry this one also allowed for people like Sirius, Amelia, Cyrus, Mad Eye, and Augusta to participate.

Also there were Frank and Alice Longbottom.

Their bodies were healed up as best as they could be after the years of atrophy they had suffered.

But despite their slightly frail appearance they were all smiles.

Especially when Luna spotted them talking to Sirius, Remus, Dummy James, and Dummy Lily.

Luna smiled serenely at that.

"They deserve some happiness" Luna thought to herself.

She was then brought out of her musings by the musical voice of Astoria.

"Hey there fancy a drink?" She asked Luna.

Luna nodded.

And Astoria handed over the exact drink Luna was wanting.

She tilted her head at that.

"You aren't the only one whose observant" Astoria said with a cocky grin.

But that grin made Luna's heart pound in her chest.

She was slightly short of breath and felt like she had butterfly's in her stomach.

Luna instantly remembered Hermione's description of how she felt when ever Harry looked at her with that lopsided grin.

And realised she was starting to fall for the Witch before her.

"You look beautiful tonight" Luna said as her eyes took in the sight before her.

Astoria blushed slightly.

Something that made Luna think she looked even more adorable.

"Wonder how much I can make her blush" were her next thoughts.

She drank her offered drink rather quickly and asked Astoria if she would be willing to dance with her.

A bright beaming smile and a nod of acceptance were her replies.

They made their way to the centre of the room which had become something of an informal dance floor.

There were obviously other couples there.

Daphne and Tracey.

Harry and Hermione.

Sirius and Amelia.

Augusta and Mad Eye strangely enough.

And so on.

Luna held onto Astoria and allowed the younger girl to lead.

"She is definitely an impressive dancer" Luna thought.

The rhythm and movements of her partner were mesmerising to her.

And with everything Luna could see that other's were unable to.

She was able to tell how her partner was going to move before she did it.

This made keeping up much easier.

And thus they quickly appeared to be perfectly in synch.

Little did Luna and Astoria know that Cyrus Greengrass, his wife Eunice.

As well as Xeno and Dummy Pandora were looking on with indulgent smiles.

All proud of the strong, confident, and capable young women their daughters were becoming.

Following that day Luna found herself being invited more and more to Greengrass manor.

They would spend their time their getting their summer homework out of the way.

And when they had done so they would then go on a date.

Some times just the two of them.

Sometimes as a double date with Daphne and Tracey.

Or Hermione, and Harry.

Their dates ranged the length and breadth of Britain.

In bot the Magical and Mundane worlds.

And with every day that passed and every date they shared Luna couldn't help but think of just how different her life was from the one Harry explained her other self lived.

She was surrounded by friends and loved ones.

Her heart was constantly filled with joy over one thing or another.

And she held the interest of the most beautiful Witch she had ever known.

All in all Luna Love Good could only admit that she was loving life.
