"It is so exciting to see you again. And the city, and the tower. Not to mention this place!", Dewey said as he walked into the apartment, "I always had a feeling Darkwing Duck would live in style".
Gosalyn raised an eyebrow at her friend, "Say it louder, I don't think my neighbors heard you".
"Sorry", Dewey shrugged, "I get excited. And I can't believe I'm here! It must be so cool to live with an actual superhero!".
Gosalyn closed the front door, though she doubted anyone heard Dewey, it was probably better safe than sorry.
"So, what do you usually do when you're here?", Dewey asked, "Train? Get ready for fighting crime? What are we going to do?".
Gosalyn grinned, glad to see her friend excited, "Well, it's usually a place to relax and sleep. Eating occasionally happens as well. As for what we're going to do, Drake and LaunchPad are going to be out for a few hours, what do you think of patrolling?".
Thunder interrupted Dewey, "Oh yeah, that's why we were coming here".
Dewey shrugged, "A little rain won't stop the amazing team, Dewey and Gosalyn!".
"It might be better if we stay in doors, I don't want to risk getting sick again".
"You got sick?".
"A few days ago. Then I decided to go out in the rain and it got worse. On the plus side it was so bad I missed a day of school", Gosalyn said.
"So you'd rather be sick?", Dewey asked.
Gosalyn shrugged, "It doesn't hurt to miss a day. It was towards the end of it so I didn't feel sick".
"Drake just let you skip school? Awesome!".
"It was more of him being safe. I have a feeling it will only get worse. He designed me a superhero suit to keep my identity a secret".
"You have a superhero suit! Awesome! Show me, show me, show me!".
"Alright, give me a minute".
Dewey waited expectantly.
"Tada!", she jumped out.
"Wow! You have achieved a new level of superhero! What's your name?".
"My name? I'm not sure yet, Drake suggested the Jade Arrow, but I'm not really feeling it", Gosalyn said, "You like this sort of stuff right? Any ideas?".
"Hmm", Dewey hummed as he placed a hand on his chin, "How 'bout this".
He clapped and the lights turned off. How was that even possible.
Gosalyn blinked as she tried to adjust her eyes to the dark.
Another clap brought on a spotlight and a makeshift interview set was up behind her, Dewey in the interviewer guest.
"Rehearsal on Darkwing Ducks' apartment 'Dewey Dew-Night', where the Dew-Night house band do their thing. Alright internet with special guest, St Canardian superhero: The Little Night".
Gosalyn raised an eyebrow, "No".
"Featuring, the one, the only: Green Arrow!".
"Sounds a bit obvious don't you think?".
"You're right! We need something more creative, more original! Something that really screams YOU".
"Isn't the whole point of a secret identity for people to not know who YOU are?", Gosalyn said.
Dewey rolled his eyes, "You as in You the superhero. What do you stand for? What are your intentions? Are you a skilled hacker or a strong fighter? Do wish to inspire people or make them fear you? Is your mission defense or revenge?".
"I think you've watched too much TV with LaunchPad".
"Drake is a superhero from TV. Don't tell me that fiction doesn't apply to the real world".
Gosalyn was about to say something, but he did have a point, "Did Darkwing Duck ever have a sidekick?".
"Well…no and, kind of? The Crimson Quackette is described as a protege in a short-lived comic series, but she never actually appears in the show".
"Crimson Quackette? I like the suit as it is, and Crimson would imply some sort of red", Gosalyn said.
"Or the blood of your enemies".
Gosalyn shrugged, "I'm not trying to kill everything in my way. But we can keep it in the 'maybe category' ".
"Bow Pow Wow", Dewey shrugged.
"That's barely a suggestion", Gosalyn said, "It's just a bunch of words that end in 'ow' ".
"Well what do you want me to do?!", he said, throwing his hands in the air, "I need you to be more specific. What drives you to being a superhero? What's you intention? Your gimmick? I need more information to craft the perfect name".
Gosalyn sighed and started to pace around the room, "This is dumb", she said, stopping for a moment.
"Try thinking about what you like as Gosalyn. After all, your superhero persona is simply the heroic side of you".
Gosalyn tried his advice, focusing on what made her her.
"I enjoy solving problems, getting justice, even if Drake thinks I get a little intense with wanting to get the bad guys. I like pranks and have been called troublesome".
She stopped when Dewey jumped on top of the couch, "You thought of something".
"You might not be bloodthirsty, but you do want to strike fear into your enemies. Your preferred weapon is a crossbow, correct?".
"Yes, do you have an idea?".
He took his phone out, typed and grinned at the screen, "St Canard, be prepared for your new superhero, bad guys fear this fighter of right, be prepared to face the Crossbow Quack".
Gosalyn raised an eyebrow, "Doesn't really roll off the tongue".
"Aha! Which is why I'm actually talking about the Arrow Quack".
"No".
"The Quiver Quack?", he said, slightly less enthusiastically.
"That's, not bad, actually. I still think it could be better though".
"And we have a winner!", Dewey exclaimed, accidentally knocking over an empty class of water.
"We should probably clean that up before Drake gets home", Gosalyn said.
"Never happened".
"Never happened".
