Lilspooky221: Thanks for been my first commenter.

Answer to orthodox1057 question: Thanks for commenting. Lets see the half-Braavosi idea just came to my head and more I thought about it and the more I liked it.

The genuine thing is in the most of the fanfictions the protagonist gets the funds or rather gold from plot armor or from mining(bloody mining is difficult as hell) or straight out of his a**(system) or straight plundering(which Valerius will do it in the future but, I hope you get the point) . Braavos is rich and Valerius will get all the funds he needs to build his army.

The topic of making him Full-Valyrian didn't excite me and it was not really explainable as I further write into the story. How he is a Half-Valyrian will explained later in the plot but, currently only himself and someone else knows(not his mother) ಠ ‿↼.

I was reading a fanfic on Protagonist reborn in Qarth and and didn't want to steal that idea(and not a fan of the council of thirteen). So you can use that idea if you want. I am also not a fan of writing Sl*avery in the first chapter. Not many can stomach it and I also don't want to write about it but, the Fanfic world is Planetos from ASOIF.

vastoisshin : Thanks for letting me proceed ( ´∀`*)

If you have any doubts, please do comment and if I make any mistakes , I will try to edit it.

Enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 2 - Shadows of Influence: The Cunning Veleri Family

In the bustling city of Braavos, the Veleri family was known for their successful merchant ventures, but few knew the true extent of their power and influence.

Kanno Veleri, the head of the family, was not only a shrewd merchant but also a keyholder of the Iron Bank - a secret known to only a select few.

Within the walls of their opulent estate, the Veleri family operated in the shadows, carefully concealing their true strength from the prying eyes of their rivals and competitors.

"The keyholder's position in the Iron Bank grants me access to a wealth of information and resources," Kanno confided in his wife, Alysara, as they sat in the dimly lit study. "It allows us to wield influence behind closed doors."

Alysara nodded, her eyes filled with admiration for her husband's cunning. "We must continue to be discreet," she replied. "The less they know, the more advantage we have."

In the grand halls of the Veleri estate, their young son Valerius played and laughed, blissfully unaware of the intricate machinations happening around him.

Kanno watched him with pride, knowing that one day Valerius would inherit the family's legacy and carry the mantle of power with wisdom and strength.

As the years passed, Kanno's reputation as a successful merchant continued to grow, while the secret of his keyholder position remained safely guarded.

He navigated the complex web of Braavosi politics and business with skill, forging alliances and playing his rivals against each other.

Outside the Veleri estate, whispers of the family's influence spread through the city, but the true source of their power remained a mystery.

"Some say the Veleri's success is a result of sheer luck or clever financial strategies," one man murmured.

"But there's something more to it," another added, his eyes narrowed in suspicion.

One evening, as Kanno attended a lavish banquet hosted by a rival merchant, he overheard murmurs of jealousy and suspicion from the other guests.

"Have you heard of the Veleri family's wealth and success?" one of them whispered. "They seem to have the favor of the gods."

Kanno smirked, savoring the irony of their ignorance. "The gods have nothing to do with it," he thought to himself. "It is the strength of the Iron Bank and the secrets it holds that have elevated our family."

As the night wore on, Kanno deftly steered the conversation away from the true source of the Veleri's power, leaving his rivals in awe of his charm and wit.

Back at the Veleri estate, Kanno shared the details of the evening with Alysara.

"They suspect nothing," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "They are blind to the true strength of the Veleri name."

Alysara smiled, her eyes gleaming with pride. "Our secret remains safe," she replied. "And with Valerius by our side, the future of the Veleri family is brighter than ever."

In the grand tapestry of life, the Veleri family's true strength remained hidden, known only to the select few who were privy to their secrets.

Valerius Age- 3 years

As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the Veleri estate, Kanno Veleri found himself sitting at the edge of Valerius' bed. The young boy's eyes were wide with curiosity as he snuggled under the covers, ready for a bedtime story.

"Tell me a story, Father," Valerius said, his voice filled with excitement.

Kanno smiled tenderly, tucking a strand of silver hair behind Valerius' ear. "Of course, my son," he replied. "Tonight, I will tell you the story of Braavos and our family's history."

Valerius' eyes sparkled with anticipation as he listened intently to his father's soothing voice.

"Long ago, There was one of the Free Cities of Essos was founded by a group of slaves who fled from the Valyrian Freehold, seeking freedom and independence. They escaped the tyranny of their masters on a collection of ships, hiding in the lagoons and marshes of the northern coastline of Essos. Over time, they established a secret refuge on the islands, becoming a haven for escaped slaves and others seeking a new life." Kanno began. "It was a city of secrets and hidden powers, a place where the powerful and influential made their home."

"Braavos," Valerius whispered, the name of the legendary city already familiar to him.

"Yes, Braavos," Kanno confirmed. "It was a city founded by a group of brave and cunning individuals, one of whom was a Veleri. Our ancestors played a crucial role in the establishment of this great city, but few know of our family's involvement."

Valerius' eyes widened in wonder. "Really, Father? We helped build Braavos?"

"Yes, my son," Kanno replied. "Our family has always been shrouded in mystery, keeping our true strength hidden from the world."

He paused, running his fingers through Valerius' hair, lost in thought. "You see, Valerius, power comes in many forms. Some wield it openly, while others hide it in the shadows. Our family belongs to the latter category, and it is this secrecy that has allowed us to thrive."

"But why keep it a secret, Father?" Valerius asked, his curiosity piqued.

Kanno smiled, knowing his son was wise beyond his years. "In the world of politics and intrigue, knowledge is power," he explained. "By keeping our true strength hidden, we gain an advantage over our rivals and enemies. We are underestimated, and that allows us to strike when they least expect it."

Valerius nodded thoughtfully, absorbing his father's words like a sponge. "So, we are like a hidden sword, ready to be drawn when needed?"

Kanno chuckled, marveling at his son's insight. "Yes, exactly," he said. "We are the hidden sword of Braavos, always ready to protect our family and our interests."

As the conversation continued, Kanno recounted the tales of the Veleri family's rise to prominence and their influence in Braavos, regaling Valerius with stories of cunning negotiations, strategic alliances, and the art of staying one step ahead of their adversaries.

"Remember, my son," Kanno said, his voice gentle but firm. "Our family's legacy is one of strength, intelligence, and a keen understanding of the world. As you grow, you will carry the mantle of the Veleri name, and I have no doubt that you will make us proud."

Valerius beamed, his young heart filled with pride and determination. "I will, Father. I promise."

Kanno leaned down to kiss his son's forehead, feeling a swell of love and hope for the future. "Sleep well, my little warrior," he whispered. "Tomorrow is a new day, and you have much to learn and explore."

As Valerius closed his eyes, his mind buzzing with dreams of hidden powers and a city built on secrets, he knew that he was destined for greatness, guided by the wisdom of his father and the legacy of the Veleri family. And so, with the knowledge of his family's history etched in his heart, he drifted off to sleep, ready to embrace the path that lay ahead.
